Atlanta Motor Speedway is a track where Mark Martin (14 Chevrolet) has a rich history thanks to his 52 Sprint Cup starts. The 54-year-old Martin is one of only a handful of drivers who have competed in every race run at the track since it was reconfigured to a 1.54-mile oval in 1997. Since first racing at Atlanta in the 1982 Coca-Cola 500, Martin has scored two wins (November 1991 and 1994), two poles, 14 top-five and 24 top-10s while completing nearly 15,000 laps. He's competed in both the NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series at Atlanta, scoring a trio of Nationwide wins in 10 series starts.-True Speed Communication

The AdvoCare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway will mark Danica Patrick's (10 Chevrolet) 35th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and her second at Atlanta Motor Speedway. She has one NASCAR Nationwide Series start at the 1.5-mile oval. Chassis No. 10-794 was tested in the wind tunnel May 1 before being used by Patrick in the Coca-Cola 600 later that month at Charlotte. She started 24th and finished 29th after being involved in a multi-car accident on lap 320 of 400. The last time Patrick drove this car was in June at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, where she started 29th and finished 23rd.-True Speed Communication
Labonte has broken ribs from cycling accident 08-28-2013

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Bobby Labonte is currently being treated at a local hospital near his home in Trinity, North Carolina after being involved in an accident while riding his bicycle near his home on the morning of Wednesday, August 28. Labonte was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was diagnosed and is being treated for three broken ribs. There are no other injuries. He is being held overnight for observation. An update on Labonte's condition will be sent when determined. Mike Bliss will replace Labonte in the No. 51 Phoenix Racing entry this weekend in Atlanta.-Breaking Limits

Although he has not yet had the opportunity to show his road-course prowess in the NCWTS, Miguel Paludo (32 Chevrolet Silverado) is by all accounts a road-course expert. He came to the United States from the Porsche GT3 Cup Brasil and the GT3 Brasil Championship, two sports car series which race exclusively on road courses. Paludo won back-to-back championships in the Porsche GT3 Cup Brasil in 2008 and 2009 on the strength of 13 wins, seven poles and 25 podium finishes in a total of 31 races, making him the youngest champion in series history and the first to win back-to-back titles.-Turner Scott Motorsports

An MRI on Monday confirmed a scaphoid fracture and sprain of Martin Truex Jr.'s right wrist suffered in Saturday night's accident at Bristol Motor Speedway. Doctors fitted Truex with a special cast Tuesday he'll wear indefinitely.
