Carl Pettersson, Sunday 8/17, 9:19 PM CT
Both Scott McCarron and Rich Beem came knocking, but Carl Pettersson found another strong round in the bag and emerged the victor at this week's Wyndham Championship. Pettersson won his local tournament for his first PGA TOUR victory in two years, shooting a 2-under 68 on Sunday for a two-stroke victory at Sedgefield Country Club.

Our View: There was only one time when Pettersson failed to hold the top spot during the final two rounds of play, and that lasted all of one hole. Scott McCarron's bogey on the 17th all but locked up Pettersson's first victory since the 2006 Memorial Tournament.
Scott McCarron, Sunday 8/17, 9:15 PM CT
The push came late but Scott McCarron came just a bit short of a win, filing a final-round score of 68 to finish 2nd at this week's Wyndham Championship.

Our View: McCarron held the lead for a moment in time today, but Carl Pettersson, as he has all week long, emerged on the back nine and pushed McCarron out of the spotlight, thus denied his fourth career victory and first since 2001.
Rich Beem, Sunday 8/17, 9:10 PM CT
The PGA has tabulated the rankings following completion of this week's Wyndham Championship, and as a result five players have pushed their way into this year's four-tourney FedEx Cup Playoff while five others have fallen out, according to the PGA. Few enjoyed the day more than Rich Beem, carding his second consecutive round of 63 to rise and finish 3rd, a result good enough to push Beem from 166th on the FedEx list to 114th, well within the top 144 that earn invites to The Barclays next week.

Our View: Justin Bolli, Lee Janzen, Martin Laird, and J.J. Henry also moved into the FedEx field with strong performances this week. On the other hand, Marco Dawson, Brett Rumford, Todd Hamilton, Tag Ridings, and Gavin Coles have been pushed out.
J.J. Henry, Sunday 8/17, 9:05 PM CT
J.J. Henry gave it his all on Sunday, firing out a bogey-free 8-under 62 that moved him up from a tie for 24th to a tie for fourth. That finish has earned Henry a spot in the top 144 of the latest FedEx Cup standings, and as such he has earned a spot in the field at The Barclays next week, according to the PGA.

Our View: Had it not been for Henry's outstanding play in Greensboro, he would not have finished the Regular Season inside the top 144 in FedExCup standings... and his wife is due to give birth tomorrow. Congrats Henry, you earned it.
