Brett Quigley, Monday 8/11, 10:52 PM CT
Brett Quigley continues to fight the pain of shin splints, officially withdrawing from this week's Wyndham Championship.

Our View: Quigley has missed more tourneys than made over recent weeks as he fights to overcome the pain in his leagues. Thus he takes more time to heal.
Tom Lehman, Monday 8/11, 10:48 PM CT
Tom Lehman withdrew on Monday from the Wyndham Championship.

Our View: Lehman is rumored to be pondering a move to the Champions Tour, and thus we suspected he would play this out to search for the sign to suggest the time for a move has come. Instead, he's taking a week off and will be replaced by Ian Leggatt.
Daisuke Maruyama, Monday 8/11, 10:41 PM CT
Daisuke Maruyama withdrew on Monday morning from the Wyndham Championship.

Our View: Maruyama hasn't played on the PGA Tour since the Puerto Rico Open in March, though no report of injury has come forth. He will be replaced in the field by Olin Browne.
Rocco Mediate, Monday 8/11, 10:39 PM CT
One of few names of note in this week's field, Rocco Mediate has filed for withdrawal from the Wyndham Championship.

Our View: A break is due for Mediate after shooting a nightmarish +15 on on the final round of the PGA Championship to fall to the bottom of the final leaderboard. He'll regroup and join the Tour again in the coming weeks.
John Mallinger, Monday 8/11, 10:38 PM CT
John Mallinger has officially withdrawn from the Wyndham Championship.

Our View: Mallinger has been in a bit of a mini-slump in July and he finished tied for 60th place last week at the PGA Championship. We were guessing he would play through to get back on track, but he's taking another rest (one of several early withdrawals he has filed over recent weeks).
John B. Holmes, Monday 8/11, 10:36 PM CT
John B. Holmes filed his notice of withdrawal on Monday morning from the Wyndham Championship.

Our View: Holmes was in the mix for a spot near the top of the final leaderboard at last week's PGA Championship, but he posted one of the worst rounds of the weekend to fall off the pace. Now he'll enjoy a break to put it all in the rearview mirror.
Kris Cox, Monday 8/11, 10:34 PM CT
Kris Cox withdrew on Monday morning from the Wyndham Championship.

Our View: Cox has been splitting time between the Nationwide and PGA Tours this season with his only made cuts being on the Nationwide Tour. He was originally replaced by Dan Forsman in the field, but he too has withdrawn. Thus Paul Stankowski gets the spot.
Angel Cabrera, Monday 8/11, 10:32 PM CT
Angel Cabrera has withdrawn from this week's Wyndham Championship.

Our View: This is rather disappointing for the former major winner that has struggled to find comfort this season. This track was a great fit for his game and it would seem wise to find some sense of positive closure on the season, one that may his last on the PGA as he ponders a move to the European Tour. He will be replaced in the field by Larry Mize.
Paul Casey, Monday 8/11, 10:29 PM CT
In an interview with the Golf Channel following his strong finish at the PGA Championship, Paul Casey expressed his plans to stay in the US and participate in a string of PGA Tour events in an attempt secure a spot on the European Ryder Cup team.

Our View: Casey plans to hit the next three PGA events, great news for the Tour who may struggle to entice the top golfers the end of the season looming. He is ranked 16th in the lastest release of the World Golf Rankings and needs a sizeable move up that list to make the top 5 and earn an automatic bid on to the team. He isn't likely to see that happen on the Euro Tour, so he'll take a crack on American soil where top finishes will yield top rewards.
