Ray Emery, G, Philadelphia FlyersTuesday 10/27, 9:16 PM CT
Ray Emery only stopped 32-of-35 shots in tonight's 4-2 loss at Washington.

Scott Hartnell, LW, Philadelphia FlyersTuesday 10/27, 9:13 PM CT
Scott Hartnell lit the lamp in Tuesday's 4-2 loss at Washington.

Our View: Hartnell snapped a six-game drought without scoring a goal, and hopefully fantasy owners won't have to wait long for his next one. He is off to a slow start after netting 30 goals in 2008-09.
Alexander Ovechkin, LW, Washington CapitalsTuesday 10/27, 9:10 PM CT
Alexander Ovechkin blasted a pair of goals in tonight's 4-2 win over the Flyers at the Verizon Center.

Fernando Pisani skated Tuesday, according to the Edmonton Journal. He is dealing with a back ailment.

Our View: Pisani is hopeful of making his 2009-10 season debut at some point next week. He is not much of a scorer, but provides veteran leadership at winger.

Anton Khudobin , G, Minnesota WildTuesday 10/27, 4:22 PM CT
Anton Khudobin has been recalled by the Wild from AHL Houston, according to TSN.

Our View: Khudobin is undersized (5-10, 198 pounds), and needs to work on his consistency before contributing in the NHL. He does not garner fantasy attention for his stint with Minnesota.
Andrew Murray, C, Columbus Blue JacketsTuesday 10/27, 4:02 PM CT

Erik Karlsson, D, Ottawa SenatorsTuesday 10/27, 3:46 PM CT
Erik Karlsson has been sent back to the AHL.

Our View: Karlsson is a big part of the Sens future, but contract intricacies necessitated his demotion. He could be back at some point this season.
Peter Budaj, G, Colorado AvalancheTuesday 10/27, 3:44 PM CT
Updating a previous report, the mystery illness that has kept goalie Peter Budaj off the ice of late has been revealed to be swine flu, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: He isn't expected to be out much longer, however. The team needs him back so it can begin to spell workhouse Craig Anderson.
Steve Ott, C, Dallas StarsTuesday 10/27, 2:38 PM CT
Steve Ott has been suspended two games for his hip check of Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo last Saturday, according to TSN.

Our View: Between injury and suspension, Ott has barely been able to stay on the ice this season. Once he gets things in order, his main fantasy value will come from his penalty minutes, though he is a passable scorer.
Jason Krog, C, Atlanta ThrashersTuesday 10/27, 2:34 PM CT
Jason Krog has been recalled from the AHL.

Our View: Krog, 34 years old, has appeared in just 27 NHL games since 2003-04. He won't have an impact in Atlanta.
Stephane Yelle, C, Colorado AvalancheTuesday 10/27, 9:26 AM CT
Stephane Yelle has been placed on waivers, according to the Raleigh News & Observer.

Our View: The 14-year veteran has just one point in ten games this season. It's unclear what the Hurricanes will do with him if he goes unclaimed.
Erik Cole, RW, Carolina HurricanesTuesday 10/27, 9:24 AM CT
After being out since early-October, Erik Cole (broken leg) has been placed on injured reserve, with the team expecting him back sometime in mid-November, according to the Raleigh News & Observer.

Our View: Cole's scoring has dramatically gone down the past few seasons, and he's probably not worth a flier once he finally makes it back onto the ice.
Cory Murphy, D, New Jersey DevilsTuesday 10/27, 9:21 AM CT
Cory Murphy has been recalled from the AHL.

Our View: He will add depth on the blue line, and should not see too much ice time.

On a night in which he was named first start with three points, Marian Gaborik missed the final five minutes of the Rangers' win over Phoenix after colliding with Petr Prucha, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View: The infamously injury prone Gaborik was walking fine after the game, and said the injury was not related to the groin, hip or torso injuries that have dogged him in the past. Whether or not he practices today will go a long way in determining his status for New York's next game, but for now, consider him day-to-day.
John-Michael Liles, D, Colorado AvalancheTuesday 10/27, 9:15 AM CT
John-Michael Liles (shoulder) will accompany the Avalanche on their current four-game road trip, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: He has not played since October 13. Liles was off to a hot start this season, tallying five points in his first six games.
Craig Anderson, G, Colorado AvalancheTuesday 10/27, 9:13 AM CT
Despite the Avalanche allowing more shots on goal than any other NHL team to this point, Craig Anderson has sprinted to an 8-1-2 record and .936 save percentage, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Anderson has started all 11 games for the Avalanche this season. If they can't cut down on their shots against, however, he won't make it through December. Expect Peter Budaj to begin regularly spelling him soon.
Peter Budaj, G, Colorado AvalancheTuesday 10/27, 9:10 AM CT
Dealing with the flu, back-up goaltender Peter Budaj has not traveled with the team to Edmonton, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: With Craig Anderson's hot-start, the Avs haven't needed Budaj yet. He should still likely be in goal 15-to-20 times this season, however.
Pascal Leclaire, G, Ottawa SenatorsTuesday 10/27, 9:07 AM CT
Still dealing with the flu that has kept him out of late, Pascal Leclaire participated fully in practice on Monday, according to the Ottawa Sun.

Filip Kuba, D, Ottawa SenatorsTuesday 10/27, 9:03 AM CT
Filip Kuba skated in his first full practice on Monday since sitting out eight games with a "nagging" lower-body injury, according to the Ottawa Citizen.

Our View: The Senators want him back to bolster their 29th ranked power play unit. Whenever he does finally get back in the lineup, he should be a big boost to both Ottawa and your fantasy squad.
Jonas Hiller, G, Anaheim DucksTuesday 10/27, 12:08 AM CT
Jonas Hiller struggled badly on Monday as the Ducks were pounded by the Leafs 6-3. Hiller allowed all six goals on 39 shots faced in the game.

Our View: Hiller faced a ton of shots tonight, including 19 in the first period alone. He figures to stay in net going forward with JS Giguere hurting, but he will have to improve his play if he is going to remain the starter.
Corey Perry, RW, Anaheim DucksTuesday 10/27, 12:06 AM CT
Corey Perry contributed a goal and an assist in Monday night's game against the Leafs, but the Ducks still fell by a score on 6-3. Perry has five goals on the season.

Our View: Perry is an outstanding young player, and the Ducks will need him to keep scoring if they are going to pick their play up going forward. Perry has 11 points in the team's first 10 games, and he should continue to be productive all season.
Jonas Gustavsson, G, Toronto Maple LeafsTuesday 10/27, 12:02 AM CT
Jonas Gustavsson picked up his first NHL win on Monday as the Leafs thrashed the Ducks by a score of 6-3. Gustavsson stopped 25 of the 28 shots he faced in the game.

Our View: Monster might have allowed three goals tonight, but he also made several timely saves to keep his team in the lead. This was undoubtedly the first of what will be many NHL wins for the Monster, and it looks like he will be the main man going forward.
