The Anaheim Ducks signed goaltender David LeNeveu to a one-year contract on Monday, this according to TSN of Canada. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed at the time of this report.

Our View: LeNeveu appeared in 34 games in 2007-08 with San Antonio and Hartford of the American Hockey League, posting a 17-10-5 record with a 2.33 GAA and .916 SV%. Among AHL leaders, he ranked tied for 10th in save percentage and 12th in goals-against average. He also has 21 career NHL contests, all with the Phoenix Coyotes.

Free agent center Brendan Morrison will sign with the Anaheim Ducks, this according to TSN of Canada. Terms of the impending contract have yet to be announced, but the deal is expected to be for one-to-two years. The report notes that Morrison turned down a one-year, $1.9 million offer from the Vancouver Canucks, the team he has spent the past eight seasons with. Morrison is still rehabbing from an April 7th knee surgery.

Our View: Morrison has turned down offers from nine teams including the Minnesota Wild, Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings.

The Montreal Canadiens signed free agent forward Ryan Flinn to a one-year, two-way contract on Monday, this according to TSN of Canada. As per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Flinn has seven seasons of AHL experience along with three seasons with Los Angeles Kings and some time with the Phoenix Coyotes prior to the 2006 season.

Former Blues' defenseman Tomas Mojzis has signed a multi-year deal with the Wild, according to the AP. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View: The 26-year-old played with Sibir Novosibirsk of the Russian Continental League last season, while recording two goals, two assists and 38 penalty minutes.

Finnish star Janne Pesonen has inked a deal to play for the Penguins, according to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. He agreed to a one-year, two-way contract. Penguins' GM Ray Shero said, "Pesonen is a quick, skilled player that has had much success in the Finnish Elite League. We look forward to watching him perform at his first NHL training camp."

Our View: The 26-year-old winger led the Finnish Elite League with 78 points (34 goals) over 56 games last season, and added 16 points (seven goals) in leading Oulu Karpat to its fifth league championship.

Former Devils' forward Arron Asham has inked a multi-year deal with the Flyers, according to TSN. Terms of the contract are yet to be revealed.

Our View: Asham only scored six goals and four assists over 77 games with New Jersey last season, but he will fit in well with the tough hard-nosed style of the Flyers as he racked up 84 penalty minutes.

Greg Mauldin has signed a one-year, two way contract with the Senators on Monday, according to TSN. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: The 26-year-old scored 15 goals and added 18 assists for 33 points over 71 games last season with Ottawa's AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. He also notched 37 penalty minutes.

Former Anaheim forward Todd Bertuzzi has signed a one-year deal to play for the Flames, according to the AP. Financial terms were not disclosed. Flames' GM Darryl Sutter said, "Todd is a proven scorer with the ability to play both wings. He expressed to us that he wanted to play in Canada and that desire along with signing him to a one-year deal was important to our philosophy. Additionally, our captain, Jarome Iginla, was a strong supporter of Todd and wanted him on our team."

Our View: The 33-year-old notched 14 goals and 26 assists (40 points) over 68 games with the Ducks last season. He is a solid addition to the Flames, but remains an injury risk as he missed 81 games over his last two campaigns.

The Leafs locked up Matthew Stajan with a two-year deal worth $3.5 million, according to the AP.

Our View: The former second-round pick contributed 16 goals and 17 assists (33 points) over 82 games with Toronto last season. He was looking for a contract between $1.6 million and $2 million a year, and the team satisfied him.

Our View: The 28-year-old scored one goal and one assist over 43 games with St. Louis last season, along with 61 penalty minutes.

R.J. Umberger has signed a four-year extension with the Blue Jackets, according to the AP. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Umberger was quiet in the regular season as he only scored 13 goals with the Flyers, but really got hot in the playoffs as he scored 10 goals over 17 games. He could challenge 20-25 goals with the Blue Jackets in 2008-09 while paired with Rick Nash.

The Hurricanes announced that Chad LaRose filed his salary arbitration, according to the Sports Network.

Our View: LaRose only scored 11 goals in 2007-08, but two of them were game-winners. He registered a hat trick on April 2 in a 6-2 win over the Lightning, and scored a point in four of his last five appearances of the season.

Dennis Seidenberg has re-signed with the Hurricanes, according to the Sports Network. He agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.2 million.

Our View: The defenseman failed to score a goal over 47 games last season, but he did reach a new career-high with 15 assists. He holds no fantasy value, especially since he only registered 18 penalty minutes.

Barry Brust has inked a multi-year deal with the Wild, according to TSN. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Brust went 2-4-1 with a 3.70 GAA as a member of the Kings back in 2006-07, and spent last season in the AHL. He won't likely hold much fantasy value next season.

Our View: Schultz made two appearances with Vancouver in 2006-07, and notched 26 goals and 40 assists over 80 games with the Thrashers' AHL affiliate last season.

Joe Nieuwendyk will meet with Toronto GM Cliff Fletcher this week, according to TSN.

Our View: He retired back in 2006 due to chronic back problems. He has hoisted the Stanley Cup three times with Calgary, Dallas, and New Jersey, and would provide the Leafs with strong veteran leadership if he returns to the league.
