Mike Modano, C, Dallas StarsWednesday 5/21, 3:36 PM CT
Mike Modano noted on Tuesday that he plans to return for at least one more season, according to CBSsports.com. He mentioned that good friend Brett Hull wouldn't let him retire.

Our View: He will turn 38 in June, but expects to return for his 19th season in the NHL. He is aging, but could still challenge 20 goals next season.
Dustin Byfuglien, LW, Chicago BlackhawksWednesday 5/21, 11:59 AM CT
The Blackhawks re-signed Dustin Byfuglien, Adam Burish, and James Wisniewski on Wednesday, the Ticker reports. Terms were not disclosed. All three players were due to be restricted free agents.

Our View: Byfuglien, 23, put his name on the fantasy map in 2007-08, and if he continues to play forward but have defensive eligibility, he'll have some decent value heading into 2008-09. Burish and Wisniewski aren't as exciting.
Jeremy Roenick, C, San Jose SharksWednesday 5/21, 11:54 AM CT
The Sharks and Jeremy Roenick have agreed to terms on a new contract for the 2008-09 season, the Ticker reports. Roenick turned 38 in January. He notched 33 points over 69 games in 2007-08.

Our View: Roenick has fallen off a bit since dominating NHL '94, and he's no longer worth owning in fantasy leagues though it is noteworthy that he set an NHL record by having 71.4% of his goals go for game-winners this season (10 of his 14 tallies).
