Dan Fritsche scored the Blue Jackets' only goal in their Friday loss to Edmonton. It was his 9th goal of the season. He did not end the night in good spirits however as he later turned the puck over in his own goal which led to the game winning shot for Edmonton (by Andrew Cogliano).

Patrik Elias, LW, New Jersey DevilsFriday 3/7, 8:52 PM CT
Patrik Elias picked up an assist in the first period of action against Tampa Bay, and even more importantly blasted the game winning goal in overtime. He was previously battling a groin injury and it is good to see him bounce back.
Corey Perry, RW, Anaheim DucksFriday 3/7, 2:04 PM CT
Corey Perry required surgery to repair a lacerated tendon above his right knee, accordinng to the AP. He sustained the injury Thursday and underwent the procedure that evening. He should be released from the hospital by Saturday, but he isn't expected to be ready to play for about six weeks. That means his regular season should be over.
Nicklas Lidstrom, D, Detroit Red WingsFriday 3/7, 1:32 PM CT
How well Nicklas Lidstrom plays in Saturday's practice will determine whether he will take part in Sunday's game, according to the Detroit Free Press. Lidstrom is working his way back from a sprained knee.
Darren McCarty, RW, Detroit Red WingsFriday 3/7, 1:27 PM CT
Darren McCarty is expected to take part in an AHL game Saturday before joining the Red Wings on Monday, according to the Detroit Free Press. "Feeling good feeling physically and mentally," McCarty said, "and ready to get in here and make my presence known." Red Wings fans will be thrilled to see McCarty's mug back in Hockeytown, but he isn't going to make his presence known in fantasy terms.
Sergei Zubov, D, Dallas StarsFriday 3/7, 1:14 PM CT
Sergei Zubov is progressing well in his recovery from foot surgery. He should be cleared to resume skating by the end of the month, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. It's possible that he could return for the tail end of the regular season.
Philippe Boucher, D, Pittsburgh PenguinsFriday 3/7, 1:10 PM CT
At this time, the Stars consider Philippe Boucher to be week-to-week, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "What can I say, I'm having a run of bad luck here," he said. "It's pretty hard right now. It's a hit I've never shied away from and I tried to make a play, but it's just the way I fell. [Wednesday night] I was really frustrated, and I'm still frustrated today." The hit during Wednesday's game aggravated Boucher's surgically repaired shoulder. It was just his fourth game back from the original injury, which had sidelined him since early December.
Mathieu Roy, D, Edmonton OilersFriday 3/7, 12:07 PM CT
Mathieu Roy is questionable for tonight's game because of an upper body injury, according to the Edmonton Journal. The Oilers recalled Theo Peckham from Springfield of the AHL in case Roy isn't able to suit up. Roy has had an injury-plagued season and shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues even when he is able to take the ice.
Derek Armstrong, C, Los Angeles KingsFriday 3/7, 12:03 PM CT
Derek Armstrong played Thursday after missing five games with a knee injury, according to the LA Times. He didn't tally a point but did pick up a minor penalty. Armstrong is a reach as a fantasy play.
Aaron Miller, D, Vancouver CanucksFriday 3/7, 11:59 AM CT
Aaron Miller may have suffered a shoulder injury when he was rammed into the boards by Nashville's Jordin Tootoo Thursday, according to the Vancouver Sun. It's not clear at this point how severe the injury is, but it could possibly be serious. We'll keep you posted.
Aaron Ward, D, Boston BruinsFriday 3/7, 11:54 AM CT
Aaron Ward missed his second straight game Thursday with a bruised right foot, according to the Boston Globe. Ward is considered day-to-day. He shouldn't be owned in any fantasy leagues.
Bret Hedican, D, Anaheim DucksFriday 3/7, 11:51 AM CT
Bret Hedican is on personal leave from the Hurricanes, which is why he was out of the lineup last night, according to the Raleigh News & Observer. It's not clear why he left, but coach Peter Laviolette said Hedican is expected to be back in time to play Saturday. The defenseman leads the Canes with a nifty plus-16 rating, but that's about all he brings to the table.
Noah Welch, D, Florida PanthersFriday 3/7, 11:46 AM CT
Noah Welch announced after Thursday morning's skate that he is aiming to return to the lineup next Wednesday, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Welch is coming back from shoulder surgery and can be ignored for fantasy purposes.
Bryan Allen, D, Florida PanthersFriday 3/7, 11:43 AM CT
Bryan Allen was back in the lineup Thursday after sitting out four games with a sprained knee, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Allen immediately made his presence felt, notching a goal and an assist in the contest. Unfortunately, you can't expect any more games like that from him. He's worth playing only in very deep leagues.

Daniel Alfredsson, RW, Ottawa SenatorsFriday 3/7, 11:29 AM CT
Daniel Alfredsson sat out his second straight game Thursday with back spasms, and his status for Saturday's game is up in the air, according to the Ottawa Sun. The Sens have dropped two straight without Alfie, so they, along with Daniel's fantasy owners, are dying to get the winger back.
Jeremy Roenick, C, San Jose SharksFriday 3/7, 11:17 AM CT
Jeremy Roenick has missed the last two games with the flu and is questionable for tonight's contest, according to Sports Network. You have to be pretty desperate to play the 38-year-old at this point in his career, anyway.
Martin Gerber, G, Ottawa SenatorsFriday 3/7, 12:24 AM CT
Martin Gerber made his fourth straight start for the Sens on Thursday night, and though he lost for the third time in those four outings he stopped 30 of 31 shots against the Kings before they scored an empty net goal late. Ray Emery has been a mess on and off the ice, so perhaps the Senators will end up turning to Gerber down the stretch and into the playoffs as he has played fairly well of late. Still, Emery could end up emerging as the starter though at this point it appears to be Gerber's job to lose.
Alexander Frolov, LW, Los Angeles KingsFriday 3/7, 12:15 AM CT
Alexander Frolov scored his 21st goal of the season on Thursday night on the power-play, it ended up being the game winner, as the Kings defeated the Senators 2-0. Frolov has been one hot tamale since the all-star break with 10 goals and 22 points in 18 games for the Kings.
Erik Ersberg, G, Los Angeles KingsFriday 3/7, 12:13 AM CT
Erik Ersberg was spectacular in net for the Kings as he stopped all 40 shots he faced from the Senators to earn his first career victory and shutout in his third career start. With Dan Cloutier struggling in net, Ersberg likely has given himself a great shot at being the team's lead goaltender down the stretch, so if you are looking at the waiver wire there may be no better option to pounce on at the moment than Ersberg.
Sami Salo, D, Vancouver CanucksFriday 3/7, 12:01 AM CT
Sami Salo had a season best three assists on Thursday night to up his season total to a mere 14 in 48 games. Salo has been in and out of the lineup this season due to injury, and when he has been on the ice he has found it difficult to put up points. Still, he has five points in his last four games after this big outing.
