Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 1/31, 11:22 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew gained 30 yards on five carries and rushed for a four-yard score in Sunday's Pro Bowl.

Our View: Along with MJD, Chris Johnson also rushed for a touchdown, and Ray Rice led the AFC's ground game with 42 yards on seven carries. Most of the damage in the game was done through the air though.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 1/29, 6:47 PM CT
The Jaguars have hired Earnest Byner as their new running backs coach, according to the Tennessean. He replaces Kennedy Pola.

Our View: Byner helped lead Chris Johnson to an NFL-leading 2,006 rushing yards in 2009 while serving in the same position with the Titans. Maurice Jones-Drew should benefit from his presence.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 1/24, 3:36 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew has been named a finalist for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, according to the Jaguars' official twitter page.

Our View: The award annually recognizes a player's volunteer and charity work, as well as his excellence on the field. It was previously called the NFL Man of the Year award, and past recipients were Kurt Warner (2008) and Jason Taylor (2007).
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsMonday 1/4, 11:39 AM CT
It appears coach Jack Del Rio will be back with the Jaguars for an eighth season in 2010, according to the Florida Times Union.

Our View: The paper reports that Del Rio "quietly" signed an extension during the season. That was almost certainly before the team lost its final four games in a slow fade from the playoff picture.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 1/3, 12:36 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew exited the game at Cleveland in the first quarter with an ankle injury, but returned after missing only one snap.

Our View: Jones-Drew, who has five carries for 24 yards thus far in the first quarter, appears to be fine.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 12/27, 2:57 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 18 times for 63 yards and caught three passes for 35 yards in the Week 16 loss to the Patriots.

Our View: Fantasy owners won't be pleased with this performance, but MoJo can't always carry the Jags by himself. He has had a wonderful season and should be a top-three pick again in 2010.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 12/17, 10:20 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew had a big game on Thursday night, carrying the ball 27 times for 110 yards and a touchdown, but Jacksonville came up just short against the Colts in their final home game of the season, losing 35-31.

Our View: He added five catches for 30 yards and another score. If the Jaguars end up missing the playoffs, it won't be because of MJD.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 12/16, 4:41 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew is probable for Thursday's game against the Colts, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Our View: The stud rusher has been nursing a knee ailment, but looks to be good to go for tomorrow. The Colts field the 17th ranked run defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsTuesday 12/15, 5:00 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew fully practiced Tuesday after being limited yesterday, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Our View: Jones-Drew is nursing a knee ailment, but the stud rusher should be ready for Thursday's game against the Colts, barring a setback. Indianapolis is ranked 17th in run defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 12/13, 3:19 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew had a decent outing in Sunday's 14-10 loss to the Dolphins at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, as he gained 59 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. He also caught two passes for 24 receiving yards.

Our View: Jones-Drew did not dominate today, but surely helped fantasy owners with 83 total yards and a touchdown. Perhaps he was hindered by his ailing knee today.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 12/11, 5:55 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew fully practiced for the second straight day Friday, and he is probable for Sunday's game against Miami, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Our View: Jones-Drew has been nursing a knee injury, but the star running back should be fine for fantasy duty against the Dolphins, who are ranked 14th in run defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 12/10, 5:49 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew fully practiced Thursday after sitting out yesterday, according to the Jaguars' official website. He is nursing a knee injury.

Our View: The stud running back should be ready to go for Sunday's game against Miami if he practices tomorrow without an issue. The Dolphins are ranked 14th in run defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 12/9, 6:22 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew sat out today's practice while nursing his knee ailment, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Our View: Jones-Drew is averaging 4.6 yards per carry, and could be headed for another solid outing against the Dolphins, who are ranked 14th in run defense. This is assuming he returns to practice without an issue through the rest of the week.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 12/4, 6:07 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew is probable for Sunday's game against Houston, according to the Texans' official website. He fully practiced Friday and yesterday.

Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 12/3, 7:19 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew fully practiced Thursday after sitting out yesterday, according to the Texans' official website. He is nursing a knee ailment.

Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 12/2, 12:26 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew was held out of today's practice to rest his ailing knee, according to Michael C. Wright's (Florida Times-Union) twitter page.

Our View: Jones-Drew is averaging 19 rushing attempts per game in his first year as a full-time starter with Jacksonville, and it is a good idea to get him some rest during the practice week. He should be good to go for Sunday's game against Houston, who are ranked 22nd in run defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/29, 7:10 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 15 times for 75 yards on Sunday, but failed to reach the end zone as the Jags were silenced by the Niners 20-3.

Our View: MJD caught five passes for 35 yards in the game as well, so his total from scrimage (110 yards) represented a decent mark for owners. Still, it just doesn't seem right when he fails to break the goal line. Sunday's effort broke a streak of five consecutive weeks in which he had scored a touchdown.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 11/27, 11:49 AM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) is probable for Week 12, according to Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times-Union.

Our View: In other words, he will play and attempt to run all over the 49ers' stout run defense. In MJD's past five games, he has eight touchdowns.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 11/26, 2:04 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) returned to Jaguars practice on Thursday, according to Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times-Union.

Our View: He'll be poised and ready to face the 49ers' stingy run defense this Sunday.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 11/25, 6:21 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew did not practice Wednesday while nursing a knee ailment, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Our View: Jones-Drew will need to be healthy for Sunday with a tough matchup at San Francisco. The 49ers are ranked sixth in run defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/22, 4:31 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew had 25 carries for 66 yards and a touchdown in the Week 11 victory over Jacksonville.

Our View: MJD also chipped in four receptions for 18 yards, but overall, this was a disappointing performance considering that he was facing a Bills defense decimated by injuries. Regardless, Pocket Hercules has scored in eight of 10 games this season, giving him a total of 13 touchdowns.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/15, 2:54 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 24 times for 123 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 win over the Jets. He also caught two passes for 22 yards. Jones-Drew also slid down at the Jets' one-yard line in the waning seconds in order to set up a game-winning field goal.

Our View: It was another big weekend for MJD, although fantasy owners will curse him for not adding that second touchdown. Still, it's hard to be mad at a dude who is up to 12 scores and has found the end zone in seven of the team's nine games.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/15, 10:36 AM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) is active and will start in Week 10 against the Jets.

Our View: We already knew MoJo would be good to go, but this bit confirms that fantasy owners should have him in their lineups.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 11/13, 8:59 AM CT
Despite being limited by an achy knee in practice on Thursday, Maurice Jones-Drew will start without limitation against the Jets on Sunday, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Our View: From the sound of things, he's most concerned with keeping up with the Jets' Bart Scott in trash talking. New York has a decidedly average run-defense, and solid pass-defense, so expect Jones-Drew to get plenty of carries this weekend.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/8, 4:27 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew compiled 29 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown in the Week 9 victory over Kansas City.

Our View: Pocket Hercules also chipped in three receptions for 37 yards, equating to 134 scrimmage yards on the afternoon. MJD, who continues to live up to his lofty draft status, has scored six times in the last three games with 11 total touchdowns on the season.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsMonday 11/2, 9:55 AM CT
After rushing for 177 yards on just eight carries on Sunday, Maurice Jones-Drew is now sixth in the NFL with 640 yards rushing this season.

Our View: His day featured touchdown runs of both 80 and 79 yards. After hitting a rough patch in weeks four and five, Jones-Drew has very much looked like a top-five fantasy player these past few weeks.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 10/29, 9:17 AM CT
According to the Florida Times-Union, Jaguars' running back Maurice Jones-Drew believes his team is the best in the NFL. When asked to name the best team in the league, Jones-Drew said: "I think the Jaguars are. We have a lot of young guys who are starting to get their feet under them. You guys expect me to say anybody else."

Our View: The funniest part of this interview is shortly after, when the reported goes on to ask Jones-Drew for an honest answer. There really wasn't anything else he could say when asked that question, but his mood has certainly changed since calling out his entire squad a few weeks ago.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 10/18, 4:16 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew lugged the rock 33 times for 133 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 6 victory over St. Louis.

Our View: One week after calling out the entire team, Pocket Hercules carried the offense on his back. He also chipped in five receptions for 45 yards, and has scored seven touchdowns in the last four games.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 10/16, 9:45 AM CT
The Florida Times-Union is reporting that Sunday's game between the Jaguars and Rams will be blacked out in the local Jacksonville area. Jacksonville is expected to be blacked out for all of their home games this season.

Our View: Apparently the draw of the winless Rams wasn't enough to make Jacksonville residents rush out to buy tickets for this week's contest. This team is in big trouble in the city, and it wouldn't be a huge shocker if relocation became a realistic option in the future.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 10/14, 6:57 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew is frustrated and displeased with the Jaguars' offense, according to the Associated Press. He said, "It just seems like now if we do not get 30 yards rushing, we just go away from the running game. I have never been part of a team like that."

Our View: Jones-Drew added that he does not like to be embarrassed on the gridiron, and stated that the Jaguars' lack an identity right now. He only gained 58 total yards rushing and receiving in his last game, which was a 41-0 blowout loss to Seattle. The team will try to get on track in Week 6 with a favorable matchup against the Rams.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 10/11, 6:29 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew was quiet in Sunday's 41-0 loss at Seattle, as he only gained 34 rushing yards on 12 carries. He also caught five passes for 23 yards.

Our View: Jones-Drew was a disappointment for fantasy owners today, with just 57 total yards and no touchdowns. He will have a good chance to get back on track in Week 6 with a favorable home matchup against the Rams.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 10/4, 3:50 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew only had six carries for 14 yards, but he did score on a nine-yard touchdown run in the first quarter of the Week 4 win over Tennessee.

Our View: Jones-Drew also contributed three receptions for 26 yards in the passing game, and had a touchdown reception nullified by a penalty. He was rested for most of the fourth quarter with the Jaguars in total command of the game.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 9/27, 3:16 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew ran wild in today's 31-24 win at Houston, as he rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries, with a long of 61. He also caught four passes for 28 receiving yards.

Our View: MJD played up to high expectations as a first-round fantasy pick, and topped 100 rushing yards for the first time in 2009.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 9/25, 12:45 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) is listed as probable for Week 3, according to Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times Union.

Our View: There have been no indications that he will be held out this Sunday, and he could make himself the second straight elite back to run all over the Texans defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 9/24, 6:39 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew was limited in practice on Thursday due to a knee injury, according to the Jaguars' official website. Jones-Drew is expected to be fine for Week 3.

Our View: MJD should be fine for this week's game, as the team was just being cautious today. If last week's performance by the Titans' Chris Johnson was any indicaton, MJD should have a monster week against the Texans' defense.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 9/20, 8:32 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew carried the ball just 13 times for 66 yards in the Jaguars 31-17 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday. He also managed four catches for 17 yards but failed to reach the end zone.

Our View: The Jags were trailing right from the start and turned to the air more often than usual on the day. MoJo still averaged more than five yards per carry but the day will likely be considered a disappointment by his fantasy owners.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsMonday 9/14, 7:10 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew was sporting a wrap on his right forearm, wrist and hand while addressing the media today, according to the Jaguars' official team website.

Our View: The rising star apparently suffered an injury during Sunday's battle at Indianapolis, and did not comment on the severity. It is uncertain if the Jaguars will scale back his touches per game after already getting hurt in the opener.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 9/13, 2:51 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 21 times for 97 yards and a touchdown in the season opener against the Colts. He also caught a team-high five passes for 26 yards.

Our View: Jones-Drew was stopped on the most important play, a two-point effort in the fourth quarter. Still, fantasy owners should be pleased with the effort. MoJo should get a ton of touches on a weekly basis.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 9/9, 3:25 PM CT
As expected, the Associated Press reports that running back Maurice Jones-Drew returned to practice Wednesday and was in full pads.

Our View: Fantasy owners had a scare last week when Jones-Drew went down with a leg injury, but it turned out to be just a bruise and he is on schedule to start Week 1 against the Colts. He is expected be at full speed as well, which is a good thing considering he has 517 rush yards, 199 receiving yards and six scores against the Colts in just six games over his career.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 9/4, 3:35 PM CT
An MRI confirmed on Friday that Maurice Jones-Drew's lower leg injury is just a bruise, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Our View: Sighs of relief, on the house.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 9/4, 7:52 AM CT
The injury to Maurice Jones-Drew's lower right leg is just a "deep" bruise, and not a fracture, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Jones-Drew is still slated to undergo a precautionary MRI today, but barring something quite unforeseen showing up on it, he will be ready for Week 1.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 9/3, 9:03 PM CT
Jaguars' running back Maurice Jones-Drew left Thursday's preseason game with a bruised right leg, according to ESPN.com. The injury is not being considered serious at this time.

Our View: You have to wonder why MJD was even playing tonight, and the Jags really lucked out if this injury is minor. It looks like Greg Jones would get carries if MJD would go down during the season, but fantasy owners better hope he stays healthy.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 8/27, 10:27 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew looked good in Thursday's 33-32 preseason loss at Philadelphia. He only racked up 12 rushing yards on five carries, but led the Jags in receiving with two catches for 58 yards, with a long of 45.

Our View: The Jaguars lack a proven option at receiver beyond battle-worn vet Torry Holt, so there could very well be several games this season where MJD leads the team in receiving.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsTuesday 8/25, 9:06 AM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew figures to receive around 300-350 "touches" this season, according to ESPN.

Our View: MJD also had this to offer on the changing role of feature running backs in the NFL: "The game has evolved a little bit, thanks to Marshall Faulk , and Brian Westbrook and even Brian Mitchell with the Redskins," he said. "The position (running back) is more about touches now than carries. Guys may not get those 330 to 400 carries, but I may get 330 to 350 touches. It's about catching ball, too, being versatile out of the backfield, get out in space and make plays. That's what we're doing here." Sounds good to us. With Fred Taylor now fully out of the picture, Jones-Drew is a good bet to increase his 1,389 combined rushing/receiving yardage from 2008, and could lead the league in touchdowns. Draft accordingly.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 8/6, 11:13 AM CT
ESPN.com reports that the Jaguars are working out starting runningback Maurice Jones-Drew at wide receiver during training camp.

Our View: The Jags want to minimize the beating Jones-Drew will take this season and get him out into space more. He's one of the more talented pass-catching backs in the league and the Jags want to get the ball in his hands as many times and as many ways as possible.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSaturday 7/18, 5:19 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew stated that he has faith that the Jaguars' offense will bounce back in 2009, according to NFL.com. He said, "We are back to where we were in the beginning. When I first got to Jacksonville, we were a powerhouse running attack, and we could block and do whatever we wanted to. And with these guys coming back healthy and getting ready to play, it gets really exciting because I know we are going to be able to run the ball and throw it. It is going to be an explosive offense again."

Our View: The Jaguars' offense was unstable last season, namely due to several injuries along the offensive line. The team did a good job upgrading the line in the offseason, by adding Tra Thomas (formerly of Philadelphia) and rookies Eugene Monroe (Virginia) and Eben Britton (Arizona). Jones-Drew looks to be in good hands, and is worthy of a high first-round pick in fantasy leagues as the Jaguars' No. 1 running back.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSaturday 7/18, 8:44 AM CT
As expected, Maurice Jones-Drew will be the focal point of the Jaguars' rushing attack in 2009, but he will still share carries with a bevy of backups, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Among those backups are Rashad Jennings, Chauncey Washington, Alvin Pearman and fullback Greg Jones. However much the Jaguars share the load, though, Jones-Drew is the only Jaguar running back worth owning, and an elite one at that. He has scored 38 touchdowns the last three seasons, mostly not even as a feature back, and should be one of the first backs off your board this year.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 4/15, 10:06 AM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew has agreed to a four-year extension with the Jaguars, according to the Florida Times-Union. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the new contract is believed to pay him $8MM per year.

Our View: Jones-Drew coveted a new deal, and the club gave him one. He is now the Jaguars' No. 1 running back with Fred Taylor departed to New England, and making him happy was a priority.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsTuesday 4/7, 9:52 AM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew is absent from voluntary workouts with the Jaguars, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Our View: Jones-Drew covets a new contract with the Jaguars, and is skipping the conditioning program to make a statement. He is entering the last year of his four-year contract with the club, and wants a new deal done by the start of the 2009 campaign.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 3/4, 9:03 AM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew covets a new deal with the Jaguars, according to ProFootballTalk.com. He said, "I definitely would like something done before the start of the season, but it is not up to me. My agent is doing a great job of talking to [the Jaguars] and it is up to them."

Our View: He is entering the final season of his four-year rookie contract. He is now the undisputed No. 1 running back in Jacksonville following the departure of Fred Taylor.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsMonday 2/16, 11:59 AM CT
With Jacksonville's release of Fred Taylor, its all-time rushing leader, on Monday, Maurice Jones-Drew becomes the team's unquestioned feature back heading into next year.

Our View: It seems likely that the Jaguars would add another option at tailback this offseason, either through the draft or free agency, as they're quite thin in depth after Jones-Drew with unproven options like Alvin Pearman, Montell Owens and Chauncey Washington to go along with fullback Greg Jones. With an increased amount of touches expected to be handed to Jones-Drew, he becomes a clear-cut first-rounder for 2009 fantasy football drafts. While it is still very early, he should be a near-lock to go in the top-five or six picks.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 1/25, 10:12 AM CT
The Jaguars have hired Russ Purnell as their new special teams coordinator, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Our View: Purnell served with the Colts under Tony Dungy in the same role since 2002, but was let go by new head coach Jim Caldwell. The Colts did not perform well on special teams for the last few seasons, and Purnell may have stuck with the club out of loyalty from Dungy.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 12/28, 6:16 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew had 23 carries for 78 yards and one reception for 10 yards in the Jags' loss vs. Baltimore in Week 17.

Our View: Jones-Drew was a workhorse, but it was a poor performance, as can be expected against one of the NFL's top defenses. Jones-Drew finishes the season with nearly 1,400 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns, making him one of the elite backs heading into next season.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 12/28, 2:33 PM CT
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) is active for the Week 17 game against the Ravens.

Our View: MoJo faces the tough Ravens defense, and Baltimore is in a must-win game. Still, fantasy owners will want to use Jones-Drew unless their other options are excellent.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsWednesday 12/24, 11:04 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew missed practice Wednesday, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Our View: His knee injury sustained in Week 16 against the Colts is believed to be minor, and MJD is expected to start in Week 17, but will have a tough match-up against the Ravens' defense on their home turf.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsMonday 12/22, 10:03 AM CT
The Florida Times Union reports that Maurice Jones-Drew (bruised knee) did not practice on Sunday. He was walking around without a limp or brace and should be able to go in Week 17.

Our View: He has only missed one game in his career and we would consider him a safe play for Week 17 at this point. He has 14 total touchdowns on the season.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsFriday 12/19, 9:34 AM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew went down with a lower-leg injury in Thursday's battle with the Colts, but coach Jack Del Rio expects him to be fine, according to NFL.com. Del Rio said, "It feels like he got a little bruise, and that he’ll be ok. He’s walking around in there right now, so that was really good news. He took a shot there late."

Our View: This is encouraging news for fantasy owners whose season extends to Week 17. MJD currently leads all running backs with 61 receptions and 555 receiving yards.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsThursday 12/18, 10:52 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew carried the ball 20 times for 91 yards and caught another seven balls for 71 yards before injuring his leg in the fourth quarter of the Jaguars' 31-24 loss to the Colts.

Our View: MJD failed to score though he is still just third active player to record 40 scores in his first three seasons (the others are Randy Moss and LaDainian Tomlinson). We will update you on the severity of the injury once we learn more.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 12/14, 3:09 PM CT
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 12 times for 48 yards, caught four passes for 22 yards, and scored twice in the Week 15 win over the Packers.

Our View: It wasn't the big yardage day fantasy owners were hoping for, but MoJo delighted with two touchdowns. He is up to 15 scores this season.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 12/7, 3:31 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew had 12 carries for 55 yards and also notched seven receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Week 14 loss to Chicago.

Our View: Jones-Drew was the lone bright spot on offense for the Jaguars, who appear to have mailed in the season. The UCLA product has scored seven touchdowns in the last six games, and has a solid match-up against a shaky Green Bay run defense next week at home.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/23, 4:42 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew had only three carries for four yards in Week 12, but he made a huge impact in the passing game with nine catches for 113 yards.

Our View: Most fantasy owners will probably take his performance, even if he didn't do much on the ground.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/16, 7:06 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew gained just 66 yards on 17 carries Sunday against the Titans, but two of those totes were goal-line scores.

Our View: MJD now has six touchdowns over the last three weeks and 11 scores overall on the year. Fred Taylor fared better on the ground today, gaining 58 yards on 12 totes, but MoJo is clearly the man at the stripe.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/9, 3:00 PM CT
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 11 times for 70 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 10 win over the Lions. He chipped in two catches for 21 yards. All three of his scores came in the second quarter.

Our View: Jones-Drew is up to nine touchdowns on the season, a total which makes up for his general lack of yardage. We realize this huge effort came against the lowly Lions, but hopefully the Jags offensive line can use the showing to give them more confidence moving forward.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 11/2, 3:54 PM CT
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew posted 10 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Week 9 loss to Cincinnati.

Our View: Jones-Drew, who also chipped in two receptions for 29 yards, has rushed for 32 or fewer yards in five of seven games this season. But he has managed to score a touchdown in three of the past four weeks.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSaturday 10/18, 11:13 AM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew of Jacksonville was one of the winners of the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week, according to Chargers.com.

Our View: Jones-Drew ran 22 times for 125 yards and two touchdowns in the Jags' win over Denver last week.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 10/12, 6:15 PM CT
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew rushed 22 times for 125 yards and two scores in the Week 6 win over the Broncos. He also caught two passes for 23 yards.

Our View: MoJo took advantage of an injury to Fred Taylor (head) and of a weak Broncos run defense. The Jaguars offensive line remains a work in progress, and they could welcome center Brad Meester back during the Week 7 bye. Jones-Drew could be primed for a big rest of the season.

Maurice Jones-Drew returned to full practice on Friday and is being listed as probable on the injury report, according to the Jaguars Official Website.

Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 9/21, 8:09 PM CT
Maurice Jones-Drew was an absolute bowling ball on Sunday against the Bob Sanders-less Colts defense. He racked up 107 yards on 19 carries and added 59 more yards on four receptions. He finished the day with one touchdown.

Our View: Jones-Drew was a key ingredient to the Jack Del Rio's successful recipe against the Colts. The Jags held the ball for over 41 minutes of game time and wore out the Colts patched defense. The performance was no doubt a relief to MoJo's fantasy investors. He had just 30 yards rushing in his first two weeks. Fellow running back Fred Taylor had 26 carries for 121 yards.

Maurice Jones-Drew has been nursing an ankle injury during the week, but is listed as probable for Sunday's battle at Indianapolis, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Jacksonville JaguarsSunday 9/7, 3:21 PM CT
Running backs Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor got off to a slow start in Week 1. They combined to rush 14 times for 31 yards against the Titans. Jones-Drew did add four receptions for 37 yards, and he nearly scored in the second quarter. The Jaguars challenged the ruling, but the officials upheld the call that he came up short.

Our View: When Albert Haynesworth is healthy, the Titans can be very, very difficult to run against. It probably didn't help that the Jags were without center Brad Meester. Fantasy owners shouldn't be too down on Taylor and MoJo yet. They got off to a similar start in Week 1 against the Titans last year.

Maurice Jones-Drew is expected to see more touches this year, and according to Rototimes sources he should be the starter with Fred Taylor seeing touches in relief of the younger and more powerful tailback.

Our View: Jones-Drew has the speed to run off the edge and the power to pound yards between the tackles. The small in stature, huge in heart tailback, is hard to see behind his big offensive linemen. He only needs the majority of the Jags touches at running back to be a No. 1 fantasy option.
