Anquan Boldin, WR, Arizona CardinalsThursday 7/17, 6:05 PM CT
Drew Rosenhaus said via youtube.com that he hopes to have an extension completed between Anquan Boldin and the Arizona Cardinals by the start of training camp.

Our View: This appears to be wishful thinking. Camp starts on July 23. There is no knowledge whether Boldin would hold out without a deal in place.
Kenny Irons, RB, Thursday 7/17, 6:00 PM CT
Bengals.com reports that Kenny Irons has no idea when he's going to be able to do that again after Dr. James Andrews performed reconstructive knee surgery 11 months ago in Birmingham, Ala.

Our View: Even if Irons is completely healthy come Week 1 he does not figure to be much of a fantasy factor in the upcoming season.
Gerard Warren, DT, Oakland RaidersThursday 7/17, 4:33 PM CT
The Sacramento Bee reports that Gerard Warren will be start on the Raiders defensive line this season.

Our View: He replaces Terrell Sands who is simply out of shape. Warren was acquired from the Denver Broncos and knows how to get to the quarterback.
Marion Barber, RB, Dallas CowboysThursday 7/17, 4:19 PM CT
The Dallas Morning News reports that Marion Barber will be an every down back despite the Cowboys using their first round pick on RB Felix Jones.

Our View: Felix Jones may keep Barber from getting 300 carries, but he should get close, barring injury. Barber should be considered a top-10 running back both for his ability at the goal line and his role in one of the league's best offenses.
Greg Wesley, S, Oakland RaidersThursday 7/17, 3:24 PM CT
The Kansas City Chiefs have released free safety Greg Wesley, according to Profootballtalk.com.

Our View: Wesley played in 15 games last season, accumulating 30 tackles.
Chris Henry, WR, Cincinnati BengalsThursday 7/17, 3:16 PM CT
Now that Chris Henry's legal issues are behind him, and reinstatement around the corner, he is seeking possible suitors. And apparently a return to the Bengals is not out of the picture, reports ESPN.com. Henry's agent Marvin Frazier said,"We have interest in several teams, including Cincinnati."

Our View: If Henry can stay out of trouble, and on the field, he could become a huge fantasy force. Stay tuned.
Angelo Craig, DE, Cincinnati BengalsThursday 7/17, 2:29 PM CT
The Cincinnati Bengals have signed seventh-round defensive end Angelo Craig to a four-year contract, according to Bengals.com.

Our View: Craig a defensive end in college, could be used as an outside linebacker in Cincinnati. Although, he might have a better shot at making the team as a special teams player.
Trae Williams, CB, Philadelphia EaglesThursday 7/17, 11:53 AM CT
The Jaguars have inked fifth-round pick Trae Williams (South Florida) to a four-year deal, according to the AP. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Williams plays with intensity and displays solid instincts, but lacks great speed for a cornerback and is undersized at 5-9. He will compete for a backup role behind starters Rashean Mathis and Brian Williams.
Joe Jurevicius, WR, Cleveland BrownsThursday 7/17, 11:46 AM CT
Joe Jurevicius, who underwent three knee surgeries over the last seven months, is likely to begin the 2008 season on the PUP list, according to ESPN. GM Phil Savage said, "It's been pretty frustrating for everybody because this started as an innocent knee scope back in January, and it's morphed itself into multiple procedures So it's a bit up in the air right now. He's going to be looked at again obviously next week before we get started and probably will start on that PUP list."

Our View: The PUP list will prevent him from playing in the first six weeks of the season. He is not worth taking a chance on as a fantasy prospect, especially following the addition of Donte' Stallworth to the Browns' aerial attack.
Dan Connor, LB, Carolina PanthersThursday 7/17, 9:58 AM CT
The Panthers have inked rookie linebacker Dan Connor to a four-year deal worth $2.494 million, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View: Connor holds the Penn State record with 419 career tackles. The third-round pick could start as a middle linebacker in the NFL, but he will be forced to serve as a backup in Carolina behind rising star Jon Beason.
Dwight Freeney, DE, Indianapolis ColtsThursday 7/17, 9:12 AM CT
Dwight Freeney's rehab from a Lisfranc fracture remains on schedule, according to the Indianapolis Star. He has experienced no setbacks from the injury that forced him to miss the second half of last season. He said, "I知 doing everything I used to do: spinning and twisting and pushing, all of that. I知 getting work on all of that. I知 right on time."

Our View: Freeney expects to open training camp on the PUP list, but noted that he will be ready to play in Week 1 against Chicago without a doubt.
Ricky Williams, RB, Miami DolphinsThursday 7/17, 8:51 AM CT
The Dolphins have been pleased with Ricky Williams through the off-season and the team felt like he was the best player on the field during their OTA sessions, according to the Miami Herald. New head coach Tony Sparano said, "I see the potential in him. I sure do. When I watch him, I see him being explosive in and out of the line of scrimmage. He's explosive with what he does in the second level and his ball skills when he catches the ball."

Our View: Williams has reportedly been running with authority and displaying great quickness, but he is yet to perform in full-contact drills and get hit. It is too early to buy into the hype coming out of Miami right now.
Brandon Marshall, WR, Denver BroncosThursday 7/17, 8:41 AM CT
Brandon Marshall's arraignment in his court case for a traffic violation has been puched back to August 12, according to the Denver Post. He was ticketed for making an illegal lane change, and was stopped on northbound Interstate 25 between Broadway and Santa Fe Drive after allegedly driving his Hummer H2 on the shoulder to pass two cars. He was also ticketed for not having his driver's license or proof of insurance with him.

Our View: The hearing was originally scheduled for July 24, which is the same day players are to report to the Broncos' training camp.
Peyton Manning, QB, Indianapolis ColtsThursday 7/17, 7:56 AM CT
Archie Manning indicated that his son Peyton Manning's rehab from knee surgery is going well, according to the Indianapolis Star. The elder Manning said, "I think he痴 doing fine, really. Peyton will deal with it. He値l rehab and go at it 100 percent. I know Peyton and he値l make the best of his days and try to contribute."

Our View: Manning has started 160 consecutive regular-season games, which is the longest active streak among quarterbacks in the NFL, unless Brett Favre returns. As previously stated, Manning is expected to be ready for the season opener against the Bears on September 7.
Erik Ainge, QB, New York JetsThursday 7/17, 7:45 AM CT
The Jets have inked fifth-round pick Erik Ainge (Tennessee) to a four-year deal, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View: Ainge could start in the NFL, but needs to improve his mechanics to throw with more accuracy on deep routes, and with better zip. He should hold the clipboard as a rookie behind Kellen Clemens and Chad Pennington.
Lito Sheppard, CB, Philadelphia EaglesThursday 7/17, 7:30 AM CT
Lito Sheppard has hired Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Sheppard had no luck getting a new contract from the Eagles under his former agent, and Rosenhaus said, "I'm very optimistic, working with the Eagles, that we're going to find a mutually beneficial solution."

Our View: Sheppard absolutely plans to report for training camp next week on time. Asante Samuel is guaranteed a starting job at cornerback, so Sheppard will battle Sheldon Brown for the other spot.
