Joey Porter, LB, Miami DolphinsFriday 7/4, 3:02 PM CT
Joey Porter is excited to be playing for new defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni, according to the Palm Beach Post. "I just have to play the technique they want me to play. That's no problem. From that day forward, I was back playing football. That right there was a good day for me," Porter said.

Our View: Pasqualoni helped to get 26.5 sacks out of DeMarcus Ware and Greg Ellis in Dallas last season according to the paper, and he hopes to get that same type of production out of Porter in the team's new 3-4 defensive scheme. Still, the Dolphins shouldn't be on anyone's list for fantasy teams.
Najeh Davenport, RB, Pittsburgh SteelersFriday 7/4, 2:22 PM CT
Najeh Davenport may be a fit with the Detroit Lions because of his experience in the league and the fact he has kickoff return experience, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: Davenport had a nice season with Pittsburgh last season, but he would be in competition with a lot of bodies in Detroit, minimizing his fantasy value.
LaMont Jordan, RB, New England PatriotsFriday 7/4, 2:17 PM CT
LaMont Jordan has not been able to find a team willing to trade for him, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: Jordan clearly won't be in Oakland next season, and his fantasy value remains minimal. He has been a disappointment since he signed with the Raiders after coming over from the Jets with so much promise.
Grady Jackson, DT, Atlanta FalconsFriday 7/4, 11:48 AM CT
Grady Jackson is another name the Oakland Raiders have been bandying about in their search for help at defensive tackle, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: At 345 pounds, Jackson, like Sam Adams, ha the size to clog up running lanes and help improve the Raiders run defense.
Sam Adams, DT, Denver BroncosFriday 7/4, 11:42 AM CT
The Oakland Raiders could be looking at free agent defensive tackle Sam Adams, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: Adams is an enormous human being, and was on the team when the went to the Super Bowl in 2002. His 350 pound frame would be a boost to the team's woeful run defense.
Jarrett Payton, RB, Friday 7/4, 11:08 AM CT
Jarrett Payton was released by the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes., according to the Montreal Gazette.

Our View: It is not known what Payton's next step will be, or if he will make an attempt at getting back into the NFL.
John Kasay, K, Carolina PanthersFriday 7/4, 10:53 AM CT
John Kasay may lose his kickoff responsibilities when the season starts, although he would remain the Panthers field goal kicker, according to Scout.com. He may be replaced by Rhys Lloyd. "If that's going to make us better, that's who we'll keep," said Carolina coach John Fox.

Our View: Kasay can still perform on field goals. He was 24 of 28, including two-for-two from 50+ yards, He remains a viable option in the final round of fantasy drafts.
Tyrell Johnson, S, Minnesota VikingsFriday 7/4, 9:25 AM CT
Tyrell Johnson is confident he will be in training camp and will not be a hold-out, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Johnson, a safety, was the team's second-round pick, but their first selection in the draft.

Our View: Johnson is one of the pieces the Vikings need to step up in order to improve their secondary, and make their defense even better. As of now, they are a solid option in fantasy football drafts, especially with the addition of defensive end Jared Allen.
Tommie Harris, DT, Chicago BearsFriday 7/4, 9:02 AM CT
Tommie Harris is stepping up in his role as a leader of the team, and may eventually replace Brian Urlacher as the face of the franchise, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: Harris is one of the best defensive tackles in the game, but he really needs to step up in order to turn the Bears defense into a viable option for fantasy players. The team inexplicably plummeted last season after being dominant in 2006.
Zach Thomas, LB, Dallas CowboysFriday 7/4, 8:51 AM CT
Zach Thomas is having an impact on the Cowboys defense because of his professionalism, and he is setting an example that the younger players are looking up to, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: Thomas won't be in Dallas what he was with Miami, but if he can help to improve this Cowboys defensive unit, they will be one to grab in later rounds of fantasy drafts.
Mewelde Moore, RB, Pittsburgh SteelersFriday 7/4, 8:38 AM CT
Mewelde Moore has been impressive for the Steelers thus far, and he could be a real offensive weapon as a third-down back, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View: The report suggests Moore could snare as many as 40 or 50 passes out of the backfield. If that is the case, he has fantasy value in PPR leagues, but otherwise he is behind Willie Parker and Rashard Mendenhall, and won't get many carries.
Keenan Burton, WR, St. Louis RamsFriday 7/4, 8:00 AM CT
The St. Louis Rams have signed wide receiver Keenan Burton, the team's fourth-round selection, according to StLouisRams.com.

Our View: Burton will battle fellow rookie Donnie Avery to be the team's third wide receiver.
