Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego ChargersMonday 5/19, 8:20 PM CT
Philip Rivers participate in limited practice on Monday running the offense in 7-on-7 drills, according to the team's Official Website. “We’re still being careful,” HC Norv Turner said. “We don’t want an accident where someone trips and falls on him. We’re keeping him out of anything where there’s any team-type periods, but he’s getting a lot of reps.”

Our View: All signs point toward Rivers being right on track to take all the snaps for the Chargers this season barring some unforeseen setback.
Marvin Harrison, WR, Indianapolis ColtsMonday 5/19, 8:05 PM CT
Marvin Harrison has long been known as a guy who likes to maintain his privacy, but he took things to a whole new level on Monday, according to NBC10 of Philadelphia. Marvin was approached by a report at the airport whom he failed to respond to before ducking into an office. He them "faked" running down a set of stairs trying to remain hidden.

Our View: As if Harrison doesn't have enough problems, now he is acting like O.J. Simpson in an Avis commercial at the airport. The parallels are striking when you think about it.
Adam Jones, CB, Dallas CowboysMonday 5/19, 5:46 PM CT
According to a report by Ed Werder, Pacman Jones will have to sit down and have a face to face meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell before he will be allowed to return to the field, according to ESPN.com. "I'm on my last straw, plain and simple," Pacman Jones added. "If I mess up, it is what it is. I know that. The group of people around me knows that. Jerry [Jones] knows that, and I looked him in his eyes and told him I won't let him down, and that's the main reason I think I'm here."

Our View: Wow, it only took 37 arrests and 72 suspensions for Pacman to get it. Now, let's see if he comprehends what's at stake since he shown nothing to this point of his professional career to make anyone think he can be responsible for himself.
Dan Morgan, LB, Monday 5/19, 5:19 PM CT
Just a day after hopes seemed high, it was announced that Dan Morgan will retire before ever playing a game with the Saints, according to the Times-Picayune. "When we signed Dan, he was committed to making a fresh start, and he was making every effort to rehabilitate the leg injury that he suffered last year," Coach Sean Payton said. "But it wasn't responding as well as he had hoped it would.

Our View: Morgan played only three games last season after suffering a partial tear of his Achilles tendon. Morgan retires after seven injury plagued seasons and 386 tackles, and we wish him health off the gridiron.
Paul Posluszny, LB, Buffalo BillsMonday 5/19, 5:12 PM CT
LB Paul Posluszny was on the practice field for the Bills for the first time since he fractured his forearm in Week 3 last season, according to Fox Sports.

Our View: Posluszny will be itching to make a big impact after his '07 season was cut short. He may not be heavily involved in pushing the QB, but he figures to be in the middle helping to stuff the run for the Bills this season.
Lee Evans, WR, Buffalo BillsMonday 5/19, 5:10 PM CT
Lee Evans has been offered a contract extension to continue his career with the Bills, according to Fox Sports. "We have been involved in negotiations with his agent, but per team policy, we don't discuss details," Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold said. "Our position regarding Lee has been consistent in that we want him to remain as a Buffalo Bill."

Our View: Evans, who underwent shoulder surgery this off-season, would likely be looking for something akin to a 4-year, $35-40 million dollar deal, and it remains to be seen if the Bills will shell out that kind of dough for an inconsistent source of production like Evans.
Jimmy Williams, CB, Houston TexansMonday 5/19, 4:18 PM CT
CB Jimmy Williams signed a deal with the Houston Texans on Monday, according to the Associated Press. TE Ryan Krause also signed with the squad to take the roster spot of Cole Bennett who was released.

Our View: Nothing real exciting here to report, and none of the moves figures to have any fantasy relevance this year.
Bob Sanders, S, Indianapolis ColtsMonday 5/19, 3:30 PM CT
Bob Sanders and Dwight Freeney are tired of watching football. They'd rather be hitting, according to the AP. Sanders, last year's defensive player of the year, and Freeney, a former league sacks champ, have each undergone surgery in the past six months. That prompted doctors to keep both out of this weekend's three-day mandatory minicamp and likely out for the start of training camp.

Our View: The Colts' hard-hitting safety missed all of Indy's offseason workouts and training camp in 2004, his rookie season, because of a stress fracture in his right foot. He spent the opening weeks of camp on the sideline each of the past two years after having shoulder surgery. Now, he's facing the same scenario again. Sanders, who has been lifting weights said he will be 100 percent by training camp.
Jerry Porter, WR, Jacksonville JaguarsMonday 5/19, 2:43 PM CT
The Jagauars wide receiver Jerry Porter was limited in his participation of OTA drills on Sunday. Midway through practice he stopped and had an ice bag taped to his ankle, this according to Jaguars.com. “I think we have a faster roster,” Del Rio said of his first impression of his overall team. “That’s good. That’s something we’ve been after.”

Our View: Porter is projected to be the teams top wide out. Whether that converts in to No 2 fantasy numbers is the big question. Jacksonville's offense is known to spread the wealth.
Lee Evans, WR, Buffalo BillsMonday 5/19, 2:40 PM CT
The Buffalo Bills players were flying around in a no-pads, non-contact practice session that lasted 90 minutes, according to the Buffalo News. There was almost full participation. The only absentees were tackle Jason Peters, punter Brian Moorman, and rookie fullback Mike Viti, the Army product. Receiver Lee Evans did not participate in team drills. He had offseason shoulder surgery.

Our View: Lee is expected to return to drills within the next few weeks and be at full strength by training camp.
Travis Henry, RB, Monday 5/19, 2:38 PM CT
The Rocky Mountain News is reporting that a pulled hamstring will cause tailback Travis Henry to miss the Broncos' first minicamp in advance of the 2008 season.

Our View: Henry suffered the injury Friday on the last of several 100-yard dashes that were part of the team's strength and conditioning program.
Darrell Jackson, WR, Denver BroncosMonday 5/19, 2:36 PM CT
Darrell Jackson and Keary Colbert are competing for the No. 2 receiver role for the Broncos, this according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Expect Colbert to win the job, but expect both receivers to see equal work opposite No. 1 Brandon Marshall.
Justin McCareins, WR, Tennessee TitansMonday 5/19, 2:32 PM CT
Justin McCareins is in line to turn his $1 million salary and parlay that into a strong season and a long-term deal, this according to the Nashville City Paper. With Roydell Williams still out with an ankle injury, McCareins is sitting atop the depth chart with Gage at the receiver position. T

Our View: McCariens chances improve since he is intimate with Mike Heimerdinger’s system and Heimerdinger knows McCareins’ style and skills is a plus.
Sammy Morris, RB, New England PatriotsMonday 5/19, 2:29 PM CT
According to the Boston Globe, Sammy Morris had no trouble swinging a bat, playing catch and running the bases during Kevin Faulk's charity softball game Saturday night, notes the Boston Herald.

Our View: Morris appears to be fully recovered from a sternum clavicle separation injury that ended his season prematurely last year. The running back feels he’ll be ready to go today when passing camp starts in Foxboro.
Brandon Marshall, WR, Denver BroncosMonday 5/19, 2:27 PM CT
Receiver Brandon Marshall will continue to be held out of practice as he continues to recover from injuries and surgery to his right forearm suffered in a horseplay incident with his brother at a Florida resort in March, this according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View: The extent of his participation in team and position meetings.
Andre Johnson, WR, Houston TexansMonday 5/19, 2:23 PM CT
Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will miss the entire month of OTA sessions after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Thursday, this according to the Houston Chronicle. Johnson has continue to suffer pain from the knee injury that knocked him out of seven games last season.

Our View: Johnson was on the practice field with his teammates for the start of OTAs Monday. He stood with the receivers and was one of the last players off the field. He had a sleeve covering his knee. All indications are that he will be back and healthy for the start of training camp.
James Hardy, WR, Buffalo BillsMonday 5/19, 1:10 PM CT
The Buffalo Bills team website reports that James Hardy wasn't shy about explaining the events concerning his much publicized altercation with his father on Mother's day weekend, as he came off the field following the Bills first OTA practice Monday. "A woman came outside and believed something else was happening and it wasn't," said Hardy. "That's why my father didn't know what was going on and honestly I didn't know what was going on until later that evening. I called and let coach (Jauron) know and everybody know what definitely happened and it's definitely in the past right now." Hardy quickly saw the negative perception the incident created about him publicly and it was troublesome to him that he could not rectify that perception.

Our View: According to published reports Hardy allegedly brandished a firearm during his argument based on a witness, but the Bills rookie wideout dismisses that claim. "No gun was involved," said Hardy. "I don't know where she got that from. That's something that me and my father discussed. The only problem is I feel even if I'm at home and I feel I have to protect myself he actually convinced me to go get one, but there wasn't one at the time there."
Larry Johnson, RB, Kansas City ChiefsMonday 5/19, 11:15 AM CT
The Chiefs intend to go easy on Larry Johnson when offseason practice begins today, this according to the Kansas City Star. The Chiefs have 15 practice sessions planned over the next four weeks, including their June 6-8 minicamp. Monday's practice is closed to the public. “We’ll bring him along slowly,” coach Herm Edwards said. “We’re not going to beat him up. We’re not going to rush him a whole lot. We want to see where he’s at. “He’s been running straight and he’s been doing all of that for a long time, but as far as cutting and football things like that, we want to limit him some.”

Our View: Johnson broke his foot during an early-November game against Green Bay at Arrowhead Stadium. He returned to practice briefly late in the season, but the Chiefs decided to shut him down for the year when Johnson reported some soreness in the foot. LJ has had somewhat of a fall from grace this spring. He was a top three draft pick in nearly ever format last year and he is currently leaving Mock Draft boards late in the first round.
Steve McKinney, G, Miami DolphinsMonday 5/19, 11:11 AM CT
Offensive lineman Steve McKinney , coming back from a knee injury has signed a contract Monday to join the Miami Dolphins, this according to ESPN.com. The deal was confirmed by the office of McKinney's agent, Tim Irwin.

Our View: The 6-foot-4, 302-pound McKinney was a starter in each of his first eight NFL seasons, but after he allowed 9 sacks in 2005 he became a part-time center for Houston. He tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in the Texans' third game last year and missed the rest of the season.
Odell Thurman, LB, Monday 5/19, 11:08 AM CT
Following up on an earlier report, Odell Thurman has been released by the Cincinnati Bengals, one month after he was reinstated by the NFL from a two-year suspension, this according to Fox Sports. The Bengals said Monday that Thurman wasn't meeting expectations. The Bengals are holding voluntary workouts in preparation for the team's mandatory minicamp next month.

Our View: The move comes one month after the Bengals released receiver Chris Henry following his fifth arrest.
Keith Smith, CB, Detroit LionsMonday 5/19, 10:16 AM CT
When the Detroit Lions open their three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday, it will be the first time their rookies will line up against the veterans, this according to Mlive.com. Keith Smith , the running back from Central Florida, already has impressed the coaching staff with his attention to detail, not just in running the ball, but in understanding the passing game and pass protections. "I think it's really important to him and he just kind of consumes this stuff. He's a gym rat,'' Lions coach Rod Marinelli said. "He's there all day and he loves to play.

Our View: Smith is coming from an offensive system that is almost identical to the one that coordinator Jim Colletto will use in Detroit. Sleeper alert!
Jason Taylor, DE, Washington RedskinsMonday 5/19, 10:13 AM CT
In an interview for its Sunday Conversation, ESPN asked Jason Taylor if, 10 years from now, he would rather be known for his football exploits or his "Dancing with the Stars" acting career. Taylor suggested he’d rather make it in Hollywood than Canton, Ohio.

Our View: This should sit well with new Director of Operations -- Bill Parcells.
Odell Thurman, LB, Monday 5/19, 10:04 AM CT
ProFootballTalk.com reports that league sources are reporting that the Bengals plan to release linebacker Odell Thurman on Monday. The report notes that the move isn’t the result of any relapse of substance abuse or renewed misconduct by the talented-but-troubled defender, who missed most of the past two NFL seasons due to a suspension. Instead, the Bengals allegedly are cutting Thurman for missing voluntary workouts last week.

Our View: Sounds like the players union will get involved. There is a reason the workouts are called "voluntary".
