| While the Denver Post suggests that the Broncos front office will talk with free agent kickers Olindo Mare and John Carney, the team will give the first crack at replacing Jason Elam to Matt Prater, who was undrafted out of Central Florida in 2006.
"Those are huge shoes to fill. I'll try not to compare myself to him," Prater said. "I'll have to keep that out of my mind. I don't think anybody can fill his shoes. But I'll be me and do the best I can."

Per a league source, the Arizona Cardinals have finally finished the new contract with Fitzgerald, more than ten days after it was announced that a deal was done. The extension reportedly is worth $40 million over four years.

| The Detroit News reported Saturday morning that the Cleveland Browns have agreed to terms with free-agent linebacker Shantee Orr on a one-year deal. Orr played for the Texans and Jaguars last season. Orr has no IDP value. His 2007 tackle total of 13, is less than many linebackers receive in one game.

| Despite reports that Detroit is interested in talking to suspended shut-down corner Pacman Jones, GM Matt Millen told the Detroit News on Friday the team will not sign Jones.
The Titans are attempting to trade Jones. The Lions will not pursue the former strip-club-groupie, this according to Millen after reports started running wild on the Web.
"We've talked about it, but for a lot of reasons, we aren't going to try to get him," Millen said. "He has a lot of talent. We wish him well." |
