Eric Berry, S, Wednesday 3/17, 5:59 PM CT
Safety Eric Berry had his Tennessee pro day workout cut short on Wednesday after spraining his left big toe, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Widely considered the top defensive back in this year's draft class, this shouldn't hurt his stock unless the injury lingers for some time. Stay tuned.
Charlie Whitehurst, QB, Seattle SeahawksWednesday 3/17, 4:56 PM CT
Seattle has officially acquired quarterback Charlie Whitehurst from the San Diego Chargers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Our View: He will serve as Matt Hasselbeck's back-up in 2010 after Seneca Wallace departed for Cleveland earlier this offseason. Obviously, he will only come into value if Hasselbeck gets hurt, something that is not outside the realm of possibility by any means. After, 2010, however, he could eventually find himself in a starting role.
Karl Paymah, CB, San Francisco 49ersWednesday 3/17, 4:38 PM CT
Karl Paymah has signed a one-year deal with the 49ers, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Our View: Paymah recorded 27 tackles for the Vikings last season. He can be safely ignored in IDP leagues.
Derek Anderson, QB, Arizona CardinalsWednesday 3/17, 4:17 PM CT
Derek Anderson "plans to compete" for Arizona's starting quarterback job this season, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: This mostly confirms what many have already begun to expect: Matt Leinart is going to have to earn Arizona's starting job this summer, and if he under-performs, as he often has, coach Ken Whisenhunt will not hesitate to go with Anderson under center.
Patrick Willis, LB, San Francisco 49ersWednesday 3/17, 2:53 PM CT
Patrick Willis had minor surgery on his knee last week to remove a bursa sac, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

Our View: This is not anything to worry about in the least bit. He should be able to resume working out soon and will be fully ready to compete by the start of next season and continue to wreak havoc on opposing offenses.
Nathan Vasher, CB, Chicago BearsWednesday 3/17, 2:27 PM CT
The Bears have released Nathan Vasher, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Our View: Vasher was a All-Pro in 2005 but has seen his role dwindle in recent years. This move was not unexpected, as he would have been owed nearly $3 million for next season, though he'll certainly find work with another team, probably as a nickelback.
Shawn Andrews, OG, Philadelphia EaglesWednesday 3/17, 12:29 PM CT
Shawn Andrews (back) has been released by the Eagles, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane.

Our View: Andrews was a major disappointment in Philadelphia and could never stay healthy. He's coming off back surgery from December, but you can bet that someone will give him a chance due to his fine size and potential if he can just stay injury free.
Blake Costanzo, LB, Cleveland BrownsWednesday 3/17, 12:14 PM CT
The Browns have re-signed Blake Costanza to a one-year deal, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: Look for Costanzo's value to come mostly on special teams, that is, if he makes the team.
Marcus Benard, LB, Cleveland BrownsWednesday 3/17, 12:13 PM CT
The Browns have re-signed Marcus Benard to a one-year deal, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: Benard spent most of last season on the practice squad but could have a chance to carve out a role with Cleveland following Kamerion Wimbley's departure.
Chris Jennings, RB, Cleveland BrownsWednesday 3/17, 12:11 PM CT
The Browns have re-signed Chris Jennings to a one-year deal, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: Jennings showed some nice flashes as a downhill runner last season. With the team's release of Jamal Lewis, Jennings could serve as a change-of-pace back from the smaller and speedier Jerome Harrison, who's expected to start.
Charlie Whitehurst, QB, Seattle SeahawksWednesday 3/17, 11:45 AM CT
The Seahawks are expected to work out a deal with San Diego in the next coming days for Charlie Whitehurst, according to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora.

Our View: With Derek Anderson inking a deal with the Cardinals, Whitehurst has become Seattle's next target. Assuming he lands in Seattle, he'll be brought in as a backup to Matt Hasselbeck, and they'll at least try to groom him as their quarterback for the future.
Derek Anderson, QB, Arizona CardinalsWednesday 3/17, 11:04 AM CT
Derek Anderson has reportedly agreed to a deal with Arizona, according to Darren Urban or the Cardinals' official site.

Our View: Details on the contract have yet to emerge. Arizona is a good landing spot for Anderson, as it's one of the few teams in the league that at least gives him a chance to start. Matt Leinart remains the favorite to open 2010 as the team's starter, though he'll have to earn the title by outplaying Anderson in training camp.
Justin Fargas, RB, Oakland RaidersWednesday 3/17, 10:24 AM CT
Justin Fargas visited with the Saints on Tuesday night, according to WWLTV.com.

Our View: It certainly looks like the Saints are ready to move on without Mike Bell, who signed an offer sheet with the Eagles that New Orleans has a week to match. Fargas is a similar-type back to Bell and would back up both Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush if he indeed lands a deal with the Saints.
Rex Grossman, QB, Washington RedskinsWednesday 3/17, 9:17 AM CT
Rex Grossman has signed a one-year deal with the Redskins, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Our View: Grossman backed up Matt Schaub in Houston last year and looked awful in his lone appearance. It's tough to believe this is the same guy that led the Bears to a Super Bowl a few years back. Grossman will likely back up Jason Campbell in Washington, though he could receive competition from Colt Brennan for that role. Redskins fans probably shouldn't expect Rex to lead them to a Super Bowl anytime soon, both because their team doesn't seem ready to compete for a title at this point, and because Grossman kind of, well, isn't good.
Dave Ball, DE, Tennessee TitansWednesday 3/17, 8:41 AM CT
Dave Ball has signed his tender with the Titans, according to the St. Louis Globe-Democrat's Howard Balzer.

Our View: Ball solid defensive lineman, capable of both stopping the run and getting to the quarterback. He could be asked to take on a bigger role in 2010.
Will Blackmon, CB, Green Bay PackersWednesday 3/17, 8:23 AM CT
Will Blackmon has signed his restricted tender to remain with the Packers, according to NFL insider Adam Caplan.

Our View: As a result, he'll earn $1.176 million next season. Blackmon is coming off ACL surgery that he underwent in October, and if healthy is a capable backup corner and viable kick returner.
Matt McCoy, LB, Seattle SeahawksWednesday 3/17, 8:18 AM CT
The Seahawks have signed Matt McCoy to a one-year deal, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View: The linebacker had 66 tackles for the Eagles in 2006 but hasn't topped 14 since. He'll battle for a backup spot in Seattle.
