Wayne Simien, F, Sunday 7/6, 10:16 PM CT
The South Florida Sun Sentinal reports Wayne Simien will begin his comeback from knee surgery on the Cavs summer league team.

Our View: Simien has never lived up to expectations but after a year off, he seems eager to come back.
JR Giddens, G, Boston CelticsSunday 7/6, 9:53 PM CT
The Boston Herald reports that the Celtics have told first round pick J.R. Giddens to go home and not participate in minicamp.

Our View: Giddens entered a pretty rough situation. The Celtics have very little space but want to do what they can to retain James Posey or try to add other veterans.
Anthony Carter, G, Denver NuggetsSunday 7/6, 5:29 PM CT
The Rocky Mountain News reports that Anthony Carter is likely to accept the Nuggets offer to play next year for $1.26 million dollars.

Our View: The veteran was serviceable last season in Denver, making 67 starts and averaging 5.5 assists. Chucky Atkins is still signed. Theoretically, a point guard on a team featuring Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony should be a factor in fantasy leagues. However, this does not appear to be the case. At this point, the starting point guard in Denver should only be drafted in very deep leagues.
Michael Beasley, F, Miami HeatSunday 7/6, 3:11 PM CT
Michael Beasley, who is nursing a fractured sternum, has competed in full-contact scrimmaging the past two days and has been cleared to participate in the Heat summer league starting Monday, according to the Sun Sentinel. He said, "I'm going to play until my chest caves in. If I get hit, it's going to hurt. I ain't playing not to get hurt. I feel it in everything I do, but I ain't gonna be soft about it, I ain't gonna baby it. That's going to make it worse."

Our View: This is favorable news, and he is displaying the toughness that factored into his number two selection by the Heat in the draft.
James Posey, G, New Orleans HornetsSunday 7/6, 11:38 AM CT
James Posey's agent noted that he had talks with the Hornets regarding his client, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View: The Hornets covet a solid shooting guard and Posey is one of the top available free agents. Posey is believed to be seeking a four or five-year contract worth around $5.8 million per year.
Josh Childress, F, Sunday 7/6, 11:22 AM CT
As expected, Josh Childress is going to meet with the Sixers, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View: The actual date of the meeting has not been disclosed.
