Carmelo Anthony, F, Denver NuggetsSaturday 6/21, 8:08 PM CT
Representatives of Carmelo Anthony, and possibly Anthony himself, will meet with the Nuggets on Monday to discuss the possibility of a trade, according to ESPN.com. The meeting is being initiated by Anthony, who has been upset about hearing his name mentioned in trade rumors. Detroit recently offered Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince for Anthony, but the Nuggets turned that down, countering with an offer of Allen Iverson or a package revolved around Marcus Camby.

Our View: Denver has said publicly that they're not trying to trade their superstar, but the trade winds haven't stopped blowing.
Kobe Bryant, G, Los Angeles LakersSaturday 6/21, 2:25 PM CT
Kobe Bryant is content with the Lakers and didn't close out the season angry at team management as he was in 2007, according to the LA Times. Bryant said, "I'm comfortable with what we have. Whatever Mitch (Kupchak) decides to do, he decides to do. I am bitter we lost the championship, but I bounce back pretty quickly. Not to say the loss doesn't sting, because it does and it will, but I bounce back quickly."

Our View: Bryant will head off to Las Vegas next week to practice with the U.S. Olympic basketball team. After the Beijing Games he will undergo surgery on his injured right pinkie. He couldn't lead the Lakers to the NBA title, but a gold medal in the Olympics would be a tremendous consolation prize.
Shawn Marion, F, Miami HeatSaturday 6/21, 11:06 AM CT
The Heat have intentions to continue contract negotiations with four-time All-Star Shawn Marion this weekend, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View: Marion must notify the Heat and the NBA league office by Tuesday whether he would opt out of the $17.8 million he is set to earn next season. If Marion opts out, he would become a free agent July 1 and could sign with any club, including the Heat, when the league's moratorium expires July 9.
Leandro Barbosa, G, Phoenix SunsSaturday 6/21, 10:07 AM CT
The Suns are believed to be working out a package to send Leandro Barbosa to the Knicks, according to the NY Post. The only snag is the fact that Barbosa's contract extends past 2010, and the Knicks are trying to slide under the cap.

Our View: Barbosa was previously reported to be going to the Blazers for Martell Webster and the 13th pick in the draft. The speculation shall continue.
Marcus Camby, C, Los Angeles ClippersSaturday 6/21, 9:20 AM CT
Marcus Camby has responded to the rumors that the Nuggets would like to trade him, according to the Denver Post. Camby wants to remain in Denver and said, "I want to be here, but I also want to be where I'm wanted. Do I feel wanted in Denver? I don't know. Every other day there are trade rumors and stuff like that. I'm just trying to enjoy the offseason. That's all I can really do at this point."

Our View: Camby averaged 9.1 points, 13.1 boards, 1.1 steals, and 3.6 blocks with Denver in 2007-08, and finished second in defensive player of the year voting to Kevin Garnett. Although he has had trouble staying healthy over his career, there would be several teams interested in acquiring his services.
