Kevin Garnett, F, Boston CelticsSunday 6/8, 11:10 PM CT
The Boston Celtics took the heat to the Lakers and have established 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals, tonight winning 108-102. Forward Kevin Garnett shot 7-of-19 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line to score 17 points, mixed with 14 rebounds and three assists in support of the win.

Our View: Yes, Boston has won, but you better believer there is worry about Garnett. He should be taking the ball to the hole much more often than he is and he has yet to shine bright against what has been a horrendous Laker effort on defense. Getting the Big Ticket involved should be priority #1 if Boston wants to seal the deal.
Paul Pierce, G, Boston CelticsSunday 6/8, 11:04 PM CT
The Boston Celtics have taken a decisive 2-0 lead against the LA Lakers in the NBA Finals, tonight's effort led once again by forward Paul Pierce . Pierce went 9-of-16 from the field, a perfect 4-of-4 from three-point range, and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line to score 28 points with four rebounds and eight assists.

Our View: This was more of a team effort than Game 1 and you can bet Pierce won't be getting to the line so often when we shift to LA. With that said, his leadership and execution are leading the way and have Boston in good position.
Pau Gasol, F, Los Angeles LakersSunday 6/8, 11:00 PM CT
The Lakers have fallen to a 2-0 deficit in the NBA Finals, falling 108-102 to Boston this evening. Center Pau Gasol shot a strong 8-of-12 from the floor but got to the free-throw line just once and struggled to do work on the defensive end, scoring 17 points with 10 rebounds in a lackluster double-double effort.

Our View: Gasol needs to step it up and show why he's regard as a top NBA talent if the Lakers are going to get back on track. Heading back to LA, look for Gasol to step it up.
Kobe Bryant, G, Los Angeles LakersSunday 6/8, 10:57 PM CT
The Lakers have taken a worrisome 2-0 deficit in the NBA Finals, falling 108-102 to Boston this evening. Team leader Kobe Bryant shot 11-of-23 from the floor and 7-of-7 from the charity stripe to score 30 points, adding just four rebounds and eight assists to the stat line.

Our View: Kobe is in need of help, but the lack of defense by the entire team has put them in this hole. Now the series shifts to Los Angeles where the Lakers are likely to find better returns.
Sam Cassell, G, Boston CelticsSunday 6/8, 10:42 PM CT
Boston backup point guard Sam Cassell left tonight's battle with the Lakers in the second quarter with a sprained right wrist, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: The team expects he could return to action this evening but may be withheld if not needed.
Dwyane Wade, G, Miami HeatSunday 6/8, 3:16 PM CT
Dwyane Wade, recovering from left knee surgery, said Sunday that he's been playing 5-on-5 games for about a week with "no problems," according to the AP. Wade still believes his knee will be ready for the Beijing Olympics. "Just trying to get my timing back because I haven't played since March," Wade said. "But 5-on-5 went well and I'm looking forward to next week, going back to my second week of 5-on-5 and the competition picking up more. I'm doing my job of trying to bring more competition down to Chicago."

Our View: There have been rumors floating around that the Heat may consider dealing Wade, but the team has denied those reports. It sounds like his recovery is going just fine so far.
Kendrick Perkins, C, Boston CelticsSunday 6/8, 11:14 AM CT
Kendrick Perkins sat out Sunday's morning shootaround and will be a game-time decision for Game 2 due to a high ankle sprain, according to the AP.

Our View: Perkins said yesterday that he expected to play, and we would be very surprised if he didn't suit up.
Paul Pierce, G, Boston CelticsSunday 6/8, 11:12 AM CT
Paul Pierce is ready to go for Game 2 of the NBA Finals Sunday, according to the AP. He took part in Sunday's shootaround and showed no ill-effects of the right knee sprain that temporarily forced him out of Game 1.

Our View: Pierce looked fine after coming back from the injury late in Game 1, so we certainly didn't expect him to miss Game 2.
Carmelo Anthony, F, Denver NuggetsSunday 6/8, 7:28 AM CT
The Pistons could be willing to trade for Carmelo Anthony if Denver is willing to part with the 24-year-old, according to the Denver Post. It's been previously reported that New Jersey is interested in Melo.

Our View: Melo said last month the team told him they're not trying to deal him, but you never know. We'll keep you posted on this rumor.
