The Republican reports that former Los Angeles Clippers point guard Sam Cassell cleared waivers on Monday night and will be on a plane to Boston Tuesday to sign with the Celtics. "We anticipate him being a member of the Celtics," team spokesman Jeff Twiss said. "He is not a member of the Celtics until he signs, which will not be until he gets into town sometime (Tuesday)." Cassell released lat Thursday, when Los Angeles bought out his contract, was reportedly either going to sign with Boston or Denver. It appears obvious which team won his rights by this report.

Gilbert Arenas, who has been inactive since injuring his knee on November 17, said team doctors told him last night that he can practice at full speed. The Washington Post reports that Arenas said he is still trying to get over the mental block of the injury. "I've been cleared to practice and play," said Arenas. "Right now, it's just getting in shape. It's more mental. I'm actually scared to play right now. I think that's where we're at right now so I'm looking at it game by game. I think I'm scared to go out there right now. I just need to go through these practices and get my rhythm back. I'm still going to try and take it slow." Fantasy owners heading into the playoff structure of their leagues would obviously benefit from his return.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported Monday afternoon that it was unknown whether Andris Biedrins made the road trip with the team. The report noted, however, that it doesn't appear as if he'll play until the Warriors return home next week. Without the possible participation of the injured Chris Webber (knee) the team will continue to ask more of Brandan Wright and Austin Croshere.

Carlos Arroyo would start against the Raptors on Tuesday if both guards are out, and Hedo Turkoglu could see action at the point.

I don't know how far away he is from being on the court."
