The Mariners released Rick White from their roster on Thursday. He joined the Mariners late last month but became expendable after he posted an 8.40 ERA in six appearances.

Rick White threw 27 pitches in a simulated game on Friday. "We're going to see how things go (today)," White told the Houston Chronicle. "If everything is good to go after (today), they're probably going to activate me Sunday after the game or Monday." White has been out with a neck injury, but it looks like he should be back in action within a few days.

Rick White, on the DL with a neck injury, underwent tests on Monday and will do so again today. He hopes the tests reveal he doesn't have a blood clot or aneurysm, according to the Houston Chronicle. "The last couple of nights I didn't sleep real good because I was more concerned in case (it was a blood clot) ... and whether or not I was going to wake up the next morning. They gave me a little neck brace so I don't roll over on that side of the neck and impinge it any more. I'm not really nervous about the test. It's not like I'm worrying about dying or anything. It's just one of those things where I'm more ready to just find out what it is so I can just start doing something about it, because right now I'm shut down from doing any throwing or anything. I want to be able to help this team."

Rick White has been placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a neck injury. White hasn't been much in relief this year, picking up a 6.00 ERA over 24 innings.

The Astros activated Rick White from the 15-day disabled list on Friday, according to the AP. He had been out since April 25, when he strained a side muscle warming up in the bullpen. White made two rehabilitation appearances with Double-A Corpus Christi, striking out three and allowing one run in three innings.

The Astros have placed Rick White on the disabled list, according to the Houston Chronicle. He strained his left oblique while warming up last night. "It's very disappointing because he's been solid," manager Phil Garner said of White, who has a 1.54 ERA and 0.86 WHIP this season.

Since being released by the Reds after posting a 6.26 ERA in 27 1/3 IP, Rick White has turned things around with the Phillies, according to the official team website. White has posted a 2.87 ERA in 18 appearances with Philadelphia, and has allowed earned runs in just three of his outings. "I'm better with more use," White said. "That's how it's always been in my career. The more I'm used, the better my stuff is because I rely on feel. [Manager Charlie Manuel has] been using me a lot, and I appreciate that."
