Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 8/5, 2:55 PM CT
MLB.com reports that newly acquired Royals' outfielder is expected to report to the team on Wednesday in Kansas City.

Our View: Dealt from the Tigers last Thursday, Anderson has been with his wife expecting the arrival of his baby boy. He'll see some playing time in KC, but is a desperate play for fantasy owners.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 7/30, 11:48 AM CT
The recently designated for assignment Josh Anderson has been acquired by the Royals for cash, according to AOL Fanhouse's Ed Price.

Our View: And so goes down the most seismic deal of the deadline. Anderson hit .242 in 165 at-bats for the Tigers this season--huge numbers for a Royal.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 7/24, 9:33 AM CT
Josh Anderson has been designated for assignment by the Detroit Tigers, according to the official Twitter page of the team. The move was made to make room for the activation of the injured Carlos Guillen.

Our View: Anderson is hitting .242 this season, and his fantasy value was already nonexistent before this move. He will see major league time again this season, but it seems unlikely he will be fantasy relevant anytime soon.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 7/12, 9:02 AM CT
Josh Anderson hit off a tee on Saturday but he is still sore after being hit on the bicep by a Cliff Lee pitch on Friday, according to MLB.com. Anderson will likely be limited to pinch-running duty Sunday.

Our View: Anderson probably could play today, but with the break coming up it makes sense to keep him out. He has no major fantasy value, but if anyone does have him you should get him out today.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 5/5, 4:33 PM CT
According to MLBlogs.com, Josh Anderson will hit leadoff for the Tigers on Tuesday. Manager Ozzie Guillen had to shuffle the lineup due to recent injuries.

Our View: With Carlos Guillen landing on the DL, Anderson will have a bigger role to play in Detroit. He's currently hitting .326 with six steals on the season and could make the most of an unfortunate situation for the Tigers.

Skipper Jim Leyland likes what he sees in outfielder Josh Anderson, according to the Detroit News. Leyland said, "I would like to see him work with hitting coach Lloyd McClendon and get a more consistent swing."

Our View: Anderson has two hits (one single, one double) over 11 at-bats with Detroit so far, and is worth a look as a flier for AL-only leagues if dangling on the waiver wire. He gets to play his home games at hitter-friendly Comerica Park.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 4/5, 5:53 PM CT
According to MLB.com, Josh Anderson will start in left field on Opening Day for the Tigers.

Our View: Anderson failed to make the starting roster in Atlanta, was shipped to Detroit and now all of a sudden has a starting gig. It remains to be seen how long he'll stay there, but it looks like they're giving the kid a chance to shine.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsMonday 3/30, 1:54 PM CT
The Tigers have acquired Josh Anderson from the Braves in exchange for minor league pitcher Rudy Darrow, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View: Anderson failed to win the starting gig in center field with Atlanta, which will now likely go to Jordan Schaffer.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 3/21, 4:29 PM CT
Josh Anderson hit his second home run of the spring in a pinch hit appearance in the 8th inning of Saturday's 12-1 drubbing of the Mets. It was a three-run shot.

Our View: This certainly doesn't hurt Anderson's cause. It appears the starting center field job is still up for grabs and Anderson looks to be the favorite. If he takes over he might be worth a late look in NL-only leagues as a stolen base threat.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 3/20, 3:31 PM CT
Josh Anderson went 2-for-4 in Friday's 8-6 loss to Florida. Both of his hits were singles.

Our View: Anderson has been hitting well as of late, and is solidifying his chances of winning the starting job in center field. As a starter, Anderson would be worth targeting as a sleeper for NL-only leagues, namely for speed. He swiped 10 bases over 136 at-bats in 2008.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsTuesday 3/17, 2:41 PM CT
Josh Anderson went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Mets. He hit a single and a two-run homer, his first of the spring.

Our View: This was a solid performance in his bid to nail down the starting gig in center field. Anderson would be worth targeting as a sleeper for NL-only leagues if he starts.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 3/13, 11:24 AM CT
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Josh Anderson is no longer the clear favorite to be the Braves center fielder. Manager, Bobby Cox, has called the competition "wide open". Gregor Blanco and Jordan Schafer are considered to be Anderson's main competitors.

Our View: This certainly shakes things up. Anderson is still in the lead, mostly because of his speed, but Blanco or Schafer could bump him with impressive springs.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 9/27, 9:22 PM CT
Josh Anderson was 3-for-5 on Saturday night with two home runs in the Braves 9-5 win over the Astros.

Our View: Anderson is trying to make a name for himself in the Braves outfield for consideration for the outfield in 2009.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 9/26, 10:18 PM CT
Josh Anderson went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Astros. He hit a single and two doubles.

Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 9/20, 9:07 PM CT
Josh Anderson went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Mets. All three of his knocks were singles.

Our View: He now has six multi-hit games in September. He is getting regular playing time, and should remain an option in deeper NL-only leagues for the last week of the season.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsThursday 9/11, 9:10 PM CT
Josh Anderson has started 12 of the 15 Braves games since Mark Kotsay was traded to the Red Sox, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “Obviously it gives [Anderson] a good boost going into 2009,” Braves GM Frank Wren said. “This time of year you want to make as many positive impressions as you can, and he’s certainly doing that.”

Our View: The youngster is hitting .299 with six steals in 24 games overall as he has impressed everyone with his wheels. Anderson will likely battle Gregor Blanco and Jordan Schafer for AB next season, but for now his speed makes him an option in NL-only leagues.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsFriday 8/29, 10:14 AM CT
After the Braves let Mark Kotsay go to the Red Sox it was an opening that Josh Anderson has been waiting for. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Anderson is using the final five weeks of the season as an audition for being the everyday center-field next year.

Our View: Anderson was having a great year at Triple-A Richmond hitting .314 and stealing 41 bases in 121 games.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 8/27, 8:33 PM CT
The Atlanta Braves called up outfielder Josh Anderson from Triple-A Richmond after trading Mark Kotsay to Boston on Wednesday, according to the AP.

The Braves recalled Josh Anderson from Triple-A Richmond after placing Mark Kotsay on the disabled list with lower back tightness. Anderson was acquired in a November trade with the Astros. The outfielder was hitting .282 with 13 stolen bases for Richmond before getting the call.

Our View: Anderson is expected to be active tonight when the Braves begin a three-game series against the Reds at Cinergy Field.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSaturday 3/29, 7:24 AM CT
The Braves have optioned Josh Anderson to Triple-A Richmond, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He entered camp as the presumptive fourth outfielder, but he was outperformed by Gregor Blanco this spring. Anderson should get called up later this season.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsWednesday 2/13, 7:59 PM CT
Josh Anderson will open the season as the Braves 4th OF according to a report on The Sports Network. Anderson could be in line for a substantial amount of AB if Mark Kotsay continues to be limited by his injured back, so if you hear that Kotsay is struggling Anderson would be a great target in NL Only leagues after hitting .358 in 67 AB last season.
Josh Anderson, LF, Kansas City RoyalsSunday 9/16, 3:36 AM CT
Josh Anderson has started the last two days in center field for the Astros, going 4-for-10. "We have to find out about these young players and what better time than now," manager Cecil Cooper told the AP. "We've just got to keep playing them and let him get comfortable. This is a tough place to play center field." Anderson was hitting .273 with 40 stolen bases at Triple-A Round Rock before getting the call at the end of August. He was hardly used with the Astros before getting the start Friday.
