Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 11/3, 4:28 PM CT
Brian Buscher has been removed from the Twins' 40-man roster and has been assigned to Triple-A Rochester, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Buscher will become a minor league free agent later this month. He batted .266 over parts of three seasons with Minnesota.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 10/10, 11:46 AM CT
Brian Buscher has been placed on the Twins' postseason roster after the injury to Matt Tolbert, according to ED Price of Fanhouse.com. Buscher will serve as corner infield depth for the team.

Our View: Buscher hit only .235 with two homers and 12 RBI in 136 at-bats with the Twins durng the regular season, so he doesn't figure to jump into a starting role for the team in the postseason. Anyone in a fantasy playoff league should not concern themself with Buscher.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 9/1, 5:16 PM CT
Brian Buscher has been recalled by the Twins from Triple-A Rochester, according to the Associated Press. The club also sent cash to Arizona to complete the trade for reliever Jon Rauch.

Our View: Buscher batted .227 with two homers and 11 RBI over 52 games with Minnesota earlier this season. He does not hold much fantasy value, but should see action while providing depth at third base in place of the oft-injured Joe Crede.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 8/1, 2:55 PM CT
The Twins have optioned third baseman Brian Buscher to Triple-A Rochester.

Our View: The Twins needed the roster spot for Orlando Cabrera, and Buscher has mainly just been a bat on the bench.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsThursday 6/18, 2:53 PM CT
Brian Buscher launched a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning on Thursday to help the Twins to a 5-1 win over the Pirates. Buscher was 1-for-3 on the game with a walk and the two RBI.

Our View: Buscher is not much of a fantasy option, as he is hitting under the Mendoza line at .198, but he has managed to hit two homers in limited time this season. He should not be viewed as an option, but if given regular at-bats he may be able to contribute in the future.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsFriday 4/3, 3:15 PM CT
Brian Buscher went 2-for-4 with three RBI in Friday's 4-4 tie against the Pirates. He hit a single and a three-run homer.

Our View: Buscher hit well in spring action, but may not see enough at-bats while serving in a reserve role to be worth owning outside of deeper AL-only leagues.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsThursday 4/2, 1:55 PM CT
Brian Buscher went to the hospital due to chest soreness but was merely diagnosed with tenderness in his chest tissue, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: It was not a heart scare, and he is day-to-day. His fantasy value will be low as a reserve infielder.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 3/31, 4:46 PM CT
Brian Buscher was 3-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored on Tuesday. He raised his spring average to .380.

Our View: Buscher is looking to crack the Twins starting lineup, and he's making an impression with a fine spring, but until that happens he has little value as a reserve infielder. If someone gets injured, he becomes a factor.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 3/24, 3:15 PM CT
Brian Buscher went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 8-1 win over Florida. Both of his hits were singles.

Our View: He raised his Grapefruit League average to .361. Buscher could be a solid hitter, but his fantasy value will be limited as a reserve corner infielder.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 3/3, 7:22 PM CT
Brian Buscher went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Minnesota's 3-2 victory over Puerto Rico on Tuesday.

Our View: Buscher was penciled in as the Twins' first baseman, a position he figure to get some work at in anticipation of spelling former MVP Justin Morneau during the regular season.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsThursday 2/26, 5:41 PM CT
Brian Buscher went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the Twins' 10-4 win over the Reds Thursday afternoon.

Our View: The signing of Joe Crede last week was bad news for Buscher, who will likely now accept a backup role that may include time at first base.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsMonday 2/16, 9:59 AM CT
Brian Buscher realizes that his playing time will be greatly limited if the Twins ink Joe Crede, but he is staying positive and gearing up for a platoon role with Brendan Harris at third, according to the Star Tribune. Buscher said, "It happened to me last year when they signed Mike Lamb. I do not want to say I am accustomed to it, but I cannot let it bother me. I just have to go out there and fight for a job and try to win it."

Our View: The left-handed hitter would be worth consideration in deeper AL-only leagues, but only if the Twins don't sign Crede.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsWednesday 1/21, 6:02 PM CT
The Twins are likely to enter spring training with a platoon at third base between Brian Buscher and Brendan Harris, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Twins were interested in Casey Blake before he re-signed with the Dodgers and Mark DeRosa before the Cubs sent him to Cleveland. Joe Crede is still out there, but playing on an artificial surface won't help his back problems, so Minnesota won't want to commit much money to him.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsFriday 9/26, 9:13 PM CT
Brian Buscher left Friday's outing against Kansas City in the fourth inning due to dizziness, according to the AP.

Our View: He was replaced at third base by Brendan Harris. We will keep you posted on Buscher's status.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsFriday 9/19, 9:43 AM CT
Brian Buscher is considered day-to-day with his jammed left thumb, according to the Star Tribune.

Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsThursday 9/18, 8:32 AM CT
Brian Buscher started at first base Wednesday as Justin Morneau served as the DH, but Buscher was unable to finish the game due to a jammed left thumb, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: The severity of his ailment is yet to be determined. He could see more action at first if Morneau spends more time at DH to rest his sore legs. Buscher has been solid with a .306 average over 209 at-bats, with four homers and 46 RBI.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 8/19, 10:05 PM CT
Brian Buscher went 3-for-4 with a homer and five RBI in Tuesday's win over the A's. He also scored two runs.

Our View: That's the second time this season that Buscher has driven in five runs. He has been crushing right-handed pitching (.354 average) and should continue to start at third against righties.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 7/26, 9:53 PM CT
Brian Buscher is doing the most with his playing time, and went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI in the Twins victory over Cleveland. Buscher has now hit in eight of his last nine games.

Our View: Buscher is making the most of his playing time, and although he does not play in every game, he is somebody to keep an eye on, especially in AL-only leagues.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsMonday 7/7, 3:18 PM CT
Brian Buscher is penciled in to make another start for the Twins at third base tonight, and will be looking to extend his hitting streak to five games, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: He is hitting .333 over 66 at-bats for the season, and has also recorded an RBI in each of his last two games. He is worth starting in AL-only leagues while he is hot.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsWednesday 6/25, 11:27 AM CT
Brian Buscher hit his first home run of the season Tuesday night off of Padres closer Trevor Hoffman, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 6/14, 10:11 PM CT
They waited until the top of the 12th to make their charge, but the Minnesota Twins found five runs in that late hour to win 9-4 over Milwaukee. Third baseman Brian Buscher led the effort, going 3-for-5 with three singles, totaling three RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Our View: Buscher is just getting going as a contributor on the game's biggest stage, but tonight shows he may have a place in the lineup.

He also may play winter ball. "I want him to get better," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "He's working really hard at it. He's trying a lot of things over and over. And that's why we are going to go to instructional league."
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 8/21, 11:13 AM CT
Brian Buscher is expected to return to the Twins roster on Thursday. On the disabled list because of an infection in his right leg, Buscher is making enough progress during his minor league rehab stint that Manager Ron Gardenhire told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he expects the third baseman to be ready for the series against the Orioles.
Brian Buscher, 3B, Minnesota TwinsWednesday 8/8, 8:56 PM CT
Brian Buscher flew back to Minneapolis on Wednesday and may require a stay in a hospital due to the infection in his right leg. More should be known about his condition following an MRI Wednesday night, according to the AP. It's believed the infection resulted from when he fouled a ball off the leg last week. The Twins placed him on the disabled list earlier in the day, so he'll be out for at least a couple of weeks.

The Twins called up Brian Buscher from Triple-A Rochester before Friday's game against Cleveland, according to the AP. He was in the starting lineup batting eighth and went 2-for-4. "We brought him up to play," said manager Ron Gardenhire. "He's a lefty hitter who has done well in the minors and we want to see what he can do up here."

Our View: He will play everyday for the Twins unless he proves he cannot hit at the major league level.
