Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 10/6, 7:21 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick has made the Phillies' 25-man roster for the NLDS, according to MLB.com.

Our View: This is a surprise, as Kendrick spent most of the season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, and was not on the Phillies' 2008 playoff roster.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 9/13, 3:33 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick pitched very well on Sunday as the Phillies took the first game of their doubleheader with the Mets by a 5-4 score. Kendrick went 7.1 innings and allowed two runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out three.

Our View: Kendrick was making his first start for this Phillies in two months, and he was outstanding. He gave the team exactly what they needed with J.A. Happ out, but don't expect him to see too many more starts this season.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 9/10, 8:58 AM CT
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, newly recalled pitcher Kyle Kendrick is expected to start the first game of the team's Sunday doubleheader against the Mets. Kendrick was 9-4 with a 3.34 ERA with the team's Triple-A affiliate this season.

Our View: Kendrick has plenty of starting experience, as he went 1-4 with a 3.47 ERA in 20 starts for the Phils in 2007. He struggled last season, and he hasn't been great in limited work with the team this year. WIth J.A. Happ down with an injury, however, the team wasn't left with many other options.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 9/6, 11:04 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick has been recalled by the Phillies, according to the Twitter page of Andy Martino.

Our View: Kendrick will join the bullpen, and could be a factor in long relief if necessary. With roster expansion the team has plenty of arms, but Kendrick should see a few innings here and there over the next few weeks, but not enough to warrant fantasy consideration.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 7/25, 12:40 PM CT
Phillies' beat writer Todd Zolecki is reporting on his Twitter page that the team has recalled pitcher Kyle Kendrick from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to join the bullpen. He will replace rookie Andrew Carpenter in the bullpen.

Our View: Kendrick has been very good in Triple-A over his last four starts, and he should be a nice boost in long relief for the Phils. He won't be much of a fantasy factor, but he could be a rotation option if the team needs a starter.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 7/22, 8:56 AM CT
According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Kyle Kendrick was scratched from his Triple-A start on Tuesday due to a tender shoulder.

Our View: Kendrick, who has a 2.01 ERA in his last four starts, may or may not pitch on Wednesday depending on how he feels, but the injury doesn't seem serious. He has allowed just 22 hits in his last 31.1 innings and is making his case for a recall. We surely haven't seen the last of him this season.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 6/13, 4:25 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick has been optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley by the Phillies, according to TSN.

Our View: Kendrick gave up three earned runs over two innings against Boston in his lone appearance this season, and the Phillies are not giving him a chance to bounce back. He holds no fantasy value while working on his skills in the minors.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 6/12, 3:32 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick has been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He will be taking the roster spot of reliever Scott Eyre who was placed on the disabled list on Friday.

Our View: Kendrick started 30 games for the Phils in 2008, but hasn't seen any major league action this season. He's 21-13 with a 4.78 ERA lifetime and not a great fantasy option. It's unclear in what role he'll be pitching.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 4/30, 10:10 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick threw six scoreless innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley to improve his record to 2-1. He allowed three hits, two walks and struck out four.

Our View: Kendrick has gotten off to a nice start for Lehigh Valley with a 2.77 ERA, but as usual, his strikeout rate leaves something to be desired. He could find himself in the Phils' rotation again at some point this season, but last season's results show minimal fantasy value.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 3/24, 8:53 AM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports suggests that the Rockies may target Kyle Kendrick after being optioned to the minors by Philadelphia.

Our View: Kendrick allowed 23 homers last season over 155.2 innings, and would not be helped by playing his home games at launching pad Coors Field. Kendrick was unable to nail down the No. 5 spot in the Phillies' rotation.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 3/23, 12:25 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick was optioned to the minors by the Phillies, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. He will likely pitch for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Our View: Kendrick was unable to win the fifth spot in the Phillies' rotation. 35-year-old vet Chan Ho Park, rookie J.A. Happ and Carlos Carrasco remain the contenders for the job.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 3/16, 5:38 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick was rocked yet again this spring, this time at the hands of the Yankees. In four innings, he allowed eight hits, four earned runs, and three walks, while striking out two.

Our View: Kendrick has been awful this spring, and it would be an utter gift for the Phillies to include him in their opening day rotation. Chan Ho Park has been the superior pitcher to this point in March.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 3/11, 5:25 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick was destroyed by the Braves Wednesday, allowing eight runs on ten hits (including two homeruns) over just three innings. If there is a silver lining, it's that he walked only one batter.

Our View: If Kendrick was close to losing his spot in the rotation before, chances are he's on his way out now. This was a disastrous performance. He may have just paved the way for Chan Ho Park.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 3/6, 11:38 AM CT
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that pitching coach Rich Dubee was "very annoyed" with Kyle Kendrick's performance on Thursday. His stuff wasn't too bad, but the pitcher's body language on the mound was apparently aggitating Dubee.

Our View: Kendrick does not have a lot of room to waver. Chan Ho Park wants to start and he provides the professionalism that Kendrick lacks. Emotions and composure were issues for Kendrick last season, and he appears to be in danger of losing his spot in the rotation.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 2/15, 8:48 PM CT
According to the Associated Press, Kyle Kendrick is the leading candidate for the fifth spot in the Phillies' starting rotation. "For me, he's the leading guy going in because of what he's done for two years," pitching coach Rich Dubee said Sunday. "That doesn't mean my eyes are closed to the other candidates by any means."

Our View: Veteran Chan Ho Park, rookie J.A. Happ, and Carlos Carrasco figure to be Kendrick's competition.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 9/27, 1:20 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick will not be on the Phillies' playoff roster but he will head to their instructional league to keep sharp should they need to add him according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: Seems like a good move for the Phillies. They would rather not have to call upon the player who started 29 games and carried a 5.46 ERA throughout 2008.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 9/16, 5:04 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick has been bumped from the rotation for at least one start, according to the AP. J.A. Happ will make Wednesday's start in Kendrick's place.

Our View: Kendrick has allowed 13 runs in just 5 1/3 innings in two starts this month. Manager Charlie Manuel said he isn't sure if Happ will make more than one start.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 9/11, 2:37 PM CT
The Phillies will need a starting pitcher for Sunday now that Jamie Moyer is going to work on short rest for tonight's outing against Milwaukee, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Kyle Kendrick is considered a candidate for Sunday, as are J.A. Happ and Adam Eaton. The team may also consider pitching Brett Myers on short rest.

Our View: If Kendrick gets the nod, he would not merit fantasy consideration, as he failed to last past the fifth inning in four of his last five starts, and holds a 5.44 ERA and 1.63 WHIP for the season.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 9/9, 10:23 PM CT
It has been a rough stretch for Kyle Kendrick lately and it continued Tuesday night against the Marlins. The night only lasted 1.1 inning for Kendrick, who gave up seven runs on six hits.

Our View: Kendrick has only lasted into the fifth inning twice in his last six starts and this should tell fantasy owners to get rid of Kendrick.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 9/8, 2:28 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick had been struggling in recent outings, but could get another start, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Because Jamie Moyer's start was pushed back a day due to Saturday's rainout, the Phillies appear to have two open spots in their rotation this week. They likely would need Kendrick to pitch either tomorrow against the Marlins or Thursday against the Brewers, with lefty J.A. Happ likely getting the other day. Pitching coach Rich Dubee said he had not made any decisions as of the start of yesterday's doubleheader, but his only other options appear to be starting Moyer on short rest or giving Adam Eaton his first start since July 12. Cole Hamels has already been ruled out to pitch on short rest.

Our View: He could get another chance to pitch in the rotation this week, but fantasy owners should not give him another shot.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 9/4, 9:39 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick has been bad in recent outings, and the Phillies will skip his next start, and possibly remove him from the rotation entirely, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: Kendrick's ERA has risen to 5.06, and his K/BB ratio is fairly miserable. Don't let his 11 wins deceive you into thinking he deserves a spot on fantasy rosters.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 9/1, 7:40 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick lost his eighth game of the year on Monday as he allowed six runs in just four innings to the Nationals.

Our View: This outing marks the third time in five starts that Kendrick has permitted at least six runs to cross the plate as his ERA has crept up to 5.06. Given the dearth of strikeouts (3.98 K/9), you are really paying a high price for those wins if you are running him out there.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 8/22, 8:45 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick snapped a personal two-game losing streak and led the Phillies to a 8-1 win over L.A. by going 5.2 innings and surrendering just one run on three hits.

Our View: Kendrick saw his ERA drop under 5.00, but don't let those 11 wins fool you. He does not belong on fantasy rosters, not with his poor K/BB rate and WHIP close to 1.60.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 8/22, 11:55 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick is as streaky as they come. While it appeared in July that the right-hander was rebounding from a sophomore slump -- and returning to his rookie form -- he's coming off two rough starts. One of those against the Dodgers' bats he faces tonight. LA clubbed the Phils starter on Aug. 11 registering seven runs in 3.1 innings.

Our View: In Kendrick's last start, against the soft-hitting Padres at PETCO Park, he was tagged for six runs in 3.2 innings. In each of his last two starts he and the Phils bullpen gave up eight runs. That's likely four more than his mound opponent tonight, Greg Maddux, needs for a win.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 8/12, 12:31 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick was touched up for seven runs in just 3.1 innings on Monday night as he fell to 10-6 on the year.

Our View: Kenrdick is a terrible fantasy option with a poor ERA (4.74), a sad WHIP (1.54) and an awful K/9 ratio (4.05). You pay a high price for picking up those victories with this hurler.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 8/11, 10:54 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick takes the mound for the Phillies when they begin a road trip in Los Angles on Monday. The right-hander has won his last two starts and has a 1.45 ERA over his last three outings.

Our View: Kendrick is 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two career starts against the Dodgers - both in his sophomore slump campaign of 2007.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 8/6, 8:46 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick reached double-digit wins Wednesday, as he tossed six shutout innings while allowing four hits and five walks with four strikeouts in a win over Florida.

Our View: Kendrick continues to win despite poor peripherals. He's still a borderline, at best, mixed league play, but he has significant value in NL-only play.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 7/31, 9:18 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick threw 6.2 innings, allowing just two earned runs on seven hits while striking out four in the Phillies victory over Washington.

Our View: Kendrick ran his record to 9-5, but he does not translate well to fantasy in any other statistic. His ERA, WHIP and strikeout rate simply are not good enough.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 7/6, 9:17 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick allowed just one run through six innings against the Mets on Sunday. However, he did give up eight hits and walked three.

Our View: Kendrick has given up just four runs over his last 20 innings of work. He has been inconsistent most of this season but has managed eight wins.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 7/1, 9:39 PM CT
Philadelphia RHP Kyle Kendrick earned his eighth win of the season, leading his Phillies to a strong 8-3 win over Atlanta. Kendrick pitched six innings to allow three runs (all earned) on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: This gives Kendrick consecutive wins and a strong start to the month of July, coming off a 3-1 record through June and a 5-1 record over May and June.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 6/26, 12:12 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick was at his absolute best as he kept the Athletics off-balance for eight scoreless innings to earn his seventh victory of the year.

Our View: Kendrick was hit hard in his last outing against the Red Sox but tonight he bounced back in a big way limiting the A's to just four hits. Kendrick is one of a long line of pitchers that can break your heart from start to start given a lack of dominating stuff.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 6/18, 3:28 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick had arguably his worst outing of the year on Wednesday. He served up six hits and six runs (two homers) over three innings against the Red Sox. Kendrick dropped to 6-3, and his ERA jumped from 4.54 to 5.06.

Our View: Kendrick had been pitching pretty well coming into this contest, but the mighty Red Sox jumped all over his stuff. We'll chalk it up to a middle-of-the-road hurler simply having a bad day.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 6/18, 8:32 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick is working to refine two additional pitches in his arsenal, a change-up and a cutter. He is using the change-up in games, but the cutter is an experiment at the moment. "Obviously, the change-up is a big deal for me right now," Kendrick tells the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I'm picking it up and learning that. If it comes next start, if it comes next year, two years, who knows? If I can get that down, it's going to help me tremendously... If I can throw (the cutter) for strikes when I'm behind in the count and command it, that's when we'll take it into games."

Our View: The 23-year-old hurler hasn't been able to fully repeat his rookie success this year, although he is 6-2. It's good to see Kendrick working hard to improve, and he's doing something right. Kyle has allowed two or fewer runs in three of his last four outings.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 6/13, 11:24 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick pitched seven strong innings and contributed two hits and an RBI and the Phillies had a season-high 21 hits in a 20-2 victory over the Cardinals on Friday night. The right-hander allowed two runs on eight hits, walked one and struck out one for his sixth win of the season.

Our View: Kendrick lowered his ERA to 4.54 -- and while it wasn't pretty at times -- the second-year starter had such a big lead he was simply pitching to contact and letting his defense do the rest.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 6/13, 10:53 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick will take the hill at St. Louis tonight, according to MLB.com. Kendrick is 5-2 with a 4.87 ERA and poor 1.49 WHIP over 13 starts this season, but is 2-0 lifetime against the Cardinals.

Our View: Kedrick had a handful of solid starts this season, but has been erratic overall, as he allowed four or more earned runs in four outings. He remains a risky fantasy option despite a good record against St. Louis.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 6/7, 10:20 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick was able to hold the Braves to just two runs despite allow a ton of runners in his 5.1 innings. Kendrick permitted four hits and five walks, but held on long enough to give the Phillies a chance to win late (which they did).

Our View: Kendrick misses a bat about as often as a good bat boy, which is to say not very often. When his control is off like it was tonight, the results can be pretty detrimental to your ratios.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 5/27, 12:55 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick will take the hill tonight at home against the Rockies, according to MLB.com. Kendrick is 3-2 this season over 10 starts, with a poor 5.19 ERA and 1.59 WHIP.

Our View: Kendrick had a handful of solid outings this season, but has been inconsistent overall, and allowed five runs on eight hits over five innings in his previous meeting with Colorado on April 21. He is not worth starting tonight if you have better options for your rotation.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 5/19, 7:40 PM CT
Contrary to earlier reports, Kyle Kendrick will not start on Friday as originally planned, he will now start on Thursday instead, according to MLB.com. Adam Eaton will now start on Friday.

Our View: Kendrick's last start was cut short by rain (12 pitches), so the team ultimately decided to move him up a day in the rotation.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 5/19, 11:41 AM CT
After a rain delay knocked both of yesterday's starting pitchers, Shaun Marcum and Kyle Kendrick, out the game, the team will keep Kendrick on his regular schedule. He will start Friday at Houston against Brandon Backe.

Our View: The Phils needed to use five relievers yesterday so don't be surprised if Kendrick receives an inning or two in relief before his next start.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 4/16, 8:42 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick limited the Astros to two runs on four hits and one walk over seven innings, though he was saddled with his second loss of the year.

Our View: This was a great bounceback performance for Kendrick who couldn't throw strikes and was lit up last time out for seven runs (though only one was earned). Kendrick should continue to be a serviceable starter in NL Only leagues, though one prone to a bad outing here and there.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 4/9, 9:37 PM CT
Don't blame Kyle Kendrick for Wednesday's 8-2 loss to the Mets. After suffering a miserable spring (9.68 ERA) the right-hander lasted only 2.1 innings in the loss. Kendrick gave up four hits and seven runs (one earned) in a fielding fiasco by the Phillies infield. Kendrick had a terrific rookie season going 10-4 with a 3.87 ERA last year and it's only a matter of time before he rounds into shape.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesTuesday 3/25, 3:39 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick was dealt his third spring loss against the Reds on Tuesday as he surrendered five runs on 10 hits over five innings of work, with three walks and four strikeouts. His ERA climbed to 9.68 and the team must be displeased with their middle of the rotation starter right now.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 3/20, 2:58 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick threw five scoreless innings against the Pirates on Thursday, with only two hits allowed. He earned his first win of the spring and lowered his ERA to 9.95. That was a good day for the Phillies' middle of the rotation starter.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 3/12, 11:24 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick will throw in a minor league game Friday after getting shelled in his first three spring starts. He's not in jeopardy of losing his spot in the starting rotation, though. “Kyle doesn’t have to prove nothing to me,” manager Charlie Manuel said in the AP. “It will take more than a bad spring for him to lose his job.” Given his woefully low strikeout rate and lack of super stuff, Kendrick got pretty lucky last year to post the numbers he did. Expect him to come back down to earth this year.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 3/9, 8:46 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick was hit hard again on Sunday. The right-hander lasted just two innings, yielding six runs and seven hits. He threw 40 pitches while facing 11 batters in the second, and his spring ERA has ballooned to 16.43. Kendrick is still penciled in as the team's third starter behind Cole Hamels and Brett Myers, but the staff won't hesitate moving him down in the rotation while moving up veterans Jamie Moyer and Kent Benson if he continues to struggle. Both Kendrick and Adam Eaton have not looked sharp this spring.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 9/29, 9:00 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick could pitch on three day's rest if the Phillies have to play a tiebreaker game against the Mets Monday. It would be Kyle Lohse's turn, but he threw 28 pitches in 2 1/3 innings of relief on Saturday, according to the AP.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 9/14, 2:05 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick should be okay to make his next start after a hard liner gave him a bruised knee and knocked him out of the game in the fourth inning Wednesday, the AP reports. Kendrick's next turn is scheduled for Monday at St. Louis. He's been a solid if unspectacular starter for the Phillies this year, posting a 4.02 ERA despite ordinary numbers elsewhere (1.29 ratio, 40 strikeouts in 103 innings).
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 6/21, 6:11 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick, who got his first major league win Tuesday night, will get another start. "He's one of the guys in our rotation," Charlie Manuel confirmed to the AP.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 6/17, 6:00 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick has officially been tabbed as Tuesday's starter at Cleveland, the AP reports. Kendrick was effective in his major league debut Wednesday, allowing three runs over six innings.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 6/15, 10:56 PM CT
Kyle Kendrick, who pitched well in his major league debut filling in for the injured Freddy Garcia, likely will make his second start at Cleveland on Tuesday night, according to the AP. However, the Phillies could go to a four-man rotation because of two off days in the next 10 days.
Kyle Kendrick, P, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 6/14, 12:01 AM CT
Kyle Kendrick isn't guaranteed another start, despite a solid outing in his major league debut Wednesday, the AP reports. Kendrick allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, with two walks and four strikeouts. Charlie Manuel said he'll evaluate the rotation on Thursday's off day. Kendrick's next scheduled start, if he remains in the rotation, would be at Cleveland on Tuesday.
