Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 8/19, 10:35 PM CT
Nate Schierholtz drove in he only run of the game on Wednesday as the Giants outlasted the Reds 1-0. Schierholtz went 2-for-4 with two doubles and the RBI.

Our View: Schierholtz has been hot since returning from the DL, hitting .333 in his 18 at-bats. He has been a good hitter all season, but his lack of power makes his fantasy value lower than it could be.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 8/12, 3:38 PM CT
Giants' beat writer Andrew Baggarly is reporting that the team has activated Nate Schierholtz of the DL. Schierholtz has been out since late July with a strained hip.

Our View: Schierholtz is hitting fith and playing right field tonight, and he hopes to pick up where he left off before he got hurt. He is hitting .295 with the team this season, but he has only four homers and 20 RBI, making his fantasy stock awfully low.

Nate Schierholtz (strained hip) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Fresno on Wednesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Schierholtz was batting .295 with 20 RBI when he went down with the injury in late July. If he looks good in his rehab assignment, he could rejoin the team quickly and give them back some much needed outfield depth.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 7/28, 7:26 PM CT
The San Francisco Giants have placed Nate Schierholtz on the 15-day DL with a strianed left hip and internal bleeding, according to the blog of Giants' beat writer Andrew Baggarly. The roster spot vacated by Schierholtz will be assumed by the newly acquired Ryan Garko.

Our View: Schierholtz is expected to be able to return when he is eligible, but for now he will be out. Schierholtz is hitting .295 this season, and he should get playing time when he returns from the injury.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 7/23, 3:46 PM CT
Nate Schierholtz went 3-for-5 with a run scored in the Giants' 5-1 win over the Braves on Thursday.

Our View: Since June 14th Schierholtz has racked up 11 multi-hit games. Four of those included games of three hits or more and he's raised his average from .240 to .299 since then.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 6/28, 6:46 PM CT
Nate Schierholtz pounded four hits on Sunday in the Giants' 7-0 win over the Brewers. Schierholtz went 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI in the win.

Our View: Schierholtz is now hitting .316 on the year, which is pretty impressive, but his limited playing time is keeping him from being fantasy relevant. If he sees more playing time he could be an option, but until then owners should stay away.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 6/17, 12:10 AM CT
Nate Schierholtz drove in San Francisco's lone run on Tuesday as the Giants lost 8-1 to the Angels.

Our View: Schierholtz now has nine RBIs in 84 at-bats. Average for a pinch hitter, well below average for a solid fantasy baseball player. Needless to say, he has little to no fantasy value.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 6/14, 11:33 PM CT
Nate Schierholtz led the way for the Giants on Sunday in their 7-1 win over the A's. Schierholtz was 2-for-4 with a home run, a run scored, and three RBI in the game.

Our View: Schierholtz has very little fantasy value at this point, but he could be someone to watch down the line. He has the tools, and he figures to have an impact on the fantasy game at some point. Stay away for now though.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 4/26, 8:59 AM CT
Outfielder Nate Schierholtz went 1-for-2 on Saturday night, and he also played his first defensive inning of the season, the San Jose Mercury News notes.

Our View: Reports this spring and early season suggest the Giants still see Schierholtz as their future right fielder, but Bruce Bochy doesn't like giving Randy Winn, Fred Lewis, or Aaron Rowand any time off. Schierholtz is just waiting for an injury or trade to open up playing time.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 3/12, 7:08 AM CT
Nate Schierholtz, who is recovering from a bulging disk in his back, noted that he felt no pain after hitting in the on-field cage Wednesday, according to the SF Chronicle. That marked the first time he hit since sustaining the injury.

Our View: He could play in a game either Sunday or Monday. If healthy, Schierholtz would be worth a look as a late-round flier, in case he works his way into a starting spot in the outfield.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 3/4, 7:54 AM CT
Nate Schierholtz's MRI revealed that he has a bulging disk in his back, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: He is listed as day-to-day, and Schierholtz is missing time to compete for a starting gig in the Giants' outfield.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 2/19, 7:30 AM CT
Nate Schierholtz is being held out of running and conditioning due to a strained left hamstring, according to the SF Chronicle. He is still able to hit.

Our View: The 25-year-old outfielder played for Team USA and looked good during his stint in the majors, and is worth a look as a flier in case he can move up from the No. 4 spot on the Giants' depth chart.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsSaturday 9/20, 11:25 AM CT
Nate Schierholtz will probably be back with the Giants on Saturday after missing some time with a strained pectoral muscle, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Schierholtz has good numbers, but in just 44 at-bats, it is difficult for fantasy owners to trust him, especially because he has accumulated only two RBI.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 9/16, 9:31 PM CT
Nate Schierholtz likely will be sidelined for a day or two with soreness in his right shoulder and pectoral muscle, according to MLB.com. Schierholtz injured himself Sunday while making a sliding catch.

Our View: Dave Roberts will get some playing time with Schierholtz out.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsSunday 9/7, 6:40 PM CT
Nate Schierholtz continues to rake, as he went 2-for-3 in the Giants 11-6 win over the Pirates. Schierholtz is hitting .500 so far on the season.

Our View: Okay, that .500 is in just 22 at-bats, but it is impressive nonetheless. Schierholtz should be given a peek in NL-only leagues if he is going to see regular playing time.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 9/3, 8:22 PM CT
Nate Schierholtz was 4-for-5 with three runs scored in the Giants 9-2 win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Our View: Back-to-back multi-hit games just might earn Nate more playing time in the outfield down the stretch.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsWednesday 9/3, 7:05 AM CT
Nate Schierholtz has been recalled from Triple-A Fresno, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: Schierholtz performed well in the Beijing Olympics and could see enough action with the Giants in the final month to merit him worth consideration for NL-only leagues.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsTuesday 9/2, 7:23 AM CT
Nate Schierholtz is expected to be recalled by the Giants today, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: Schierholtz performed well in the Beijing Olympics and could see enough action with the Giants in September to merit him worth consideration for NL-only leagues.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsThursday 8/28, 7:12 AM CT
Nate Schierholtz returned from the Olympics in Beijing and reported to Triple-A Fresno, where he'll work until the Giants promote him when rosters expand Monday, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: Schierholtz fared well in the Olympics and could see enough action with the Giants in the final month to merit him worth consideration for NL-only leagues.
Nate Schierholtz, RF, San Francisco GiantsMonday 5/26, 11:31 PM CT
Nate Schierholtz went 4-for-5 with his sixth home run of the season for Triple-A Fresno on Monday.

Our View: Schierholtz is arguably the Giants’ best prospect at Fresno, and he is having a fine season hitting .304-6-32 with eight steals. He could definitely get an opportunity this season with the Giants and help NL-only owners.
