Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 10/3, 10:33 PM CT
Aaron Laffey was destroyed by Boston's bats on Saturday, allowing eight runs on seven hits and two walks over just two innings in an 11-6 loss.

Our View: Laffey falls to 7-9 and sees his ERA climb from 3.91 to 4.44 after the sloppy performance. He had back to back quality starts before this outing, but the wheels have apparently come off.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 9/28, 8:42 PM CT
Aaron Laffey gave up three earned runs on eight hits over 7.1 innings in Monday's 6-1 loss to the rival White Sox at Progressive Field. He had three walks with five strikeouts.

Our View: Laffey was not in control tonight, and now has a losing record at 7-8. He has taken a loss in each of his last five starts, and is winless in his last seven.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 9/22, 9:19 PM CT
Aaron Laffey only surrendered one earned run on seven hits over 6.2 innings in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Tigers at Progressive Field. He had three walks with no strikeouts.

Our View: Laffey pitched well tonight, and it is a shame he was dealt a loss due to poor run support. He has taken a loss in each of his last four starts, and is winless over his last six.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 9/16, 3:19 PM CT
Aaron Laffey got pounded for the second straight outing on Wednesday as the Indians fell to the Twins 7-3. Laffey went six innings and allowed seven runs (six earned) on 12 hits while walking three and not striking out a hitter. Laffey is 7-6 on the season.

Our View: Laffey had been on a pretty good run earlier in the season, but he has failed to pick up a win over his last five starts. He has also allowed 12 earned runs over his last 9.1 innings pitched, so stay away from him for the rest of the season.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 9/8, 10:57 PM CT
Aaron Laffey was hammered for seven runs (six earned) on 12 hits over a mere 3.1 innings in Tuesday's 10-5 loss to the Rangers at Progressive field in the nightcap of their doubleheader. He had one walk with one strikeout.

Our View: Laffey was dealt a loss for his nightmarish outing, and is winless over his last four starts. He slipped off track, as he only allowed two earned runs in each of his previous two starts.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 9/2, 9:17 PM CT
Aaron Laffey gave up four runs (two earned) on seven hits over 6.1 innings in Wednesday's 4-2 loss at Detroit. He issued four walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Laffey was dealt a loss, but trimmed his ERA to 3.36. He is winless over his last three starts, after having a three-game winning streak earlier in August.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 8/27, 9:25 PM CT
Aaron Laffey gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits over 5.2 innings in Thursday's 5-4 win at Baltimore. He had three walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: The Indians were trailing 3-2 when Laffey exited, so he ends the night with a no-decision. He lowered his ERA to 3.40, and has not taken a loss over five starts this month.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 8/22, 10:48 PM CT
Aaron Laffey did not factor into the decision on Saturday as the Indians beat the Mariners 4-3 in 11 innings. Laffey went seven innings and allowed three runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out two.

Our View: Laffey has been pretty good this season, especially in the month of August. His ERA is a respectable 3.42, and he has pitched well enough as of late to contrbute to fantasy squads. Don't expect a ton of wins, but he is solid enough to be given a look.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 8/16, 7:37 PM CT
Aaron Laffey was shaky on Sunday, but still came away with his seventh win. He allowed three runs on five hits and four walks over just 5.1 innings, but his offense bailed him out in the 7-4 win over the Twins.

Our View: Not Laffey's bets start (the four walks is particularly troubling), but he's been solid this season. The three runs he allowed Sunday were the only ones he's given up all month.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 8/11, 8:59 PM CT
Aaron Laffey was in control from the hill in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Rangers at Progressive Field, as he only surrendered six hits over 6.2 scoreless innings. He had three walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Laffey improves to 6-3, and trimmed his ERA to 3.25. He has not allowed any earned runs over his last two starts (14.2 innings), and is worth penciling into fantasy lineups for his next battle.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 8/5, 9:12 PM CT
Aaron Laffey was in control from the mound in Wednesday's 8-1 win over Minnesota at Progressive Field, as he only allowed one run (not earned) on six hits over eight innings.

Our View: Laffey improved to 5-3 and trimmed his ERA to 3.58. He bounced back well from his last outing when he was tagged for four earned runs over four innings at the Angels.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/29, 5:56 PM CT
Aaron Laffey was lit up for seven runs (six earned) on seven hits over four innings in Wednesday's 9-3 loss at the Angels. He had two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Laffey was a disappointment after hurling seven scoreless innings in his last start against Seattle. He falls to 4-3, and should remain an unstable fantasy option.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 7/19, 3:42 PM CT
Aaron Laffey pitched six uneventful innings on Sunday, but took a no decision as the Indians lost 5-3 to Seattle at home.

Our View: Laffey has a middling ERA and WHIP, doesn't strike out many batters, wins few games and walks too many people. Despite all that, however, he's not an awful option in AL-only leagues.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/15, 9:22 PM CT
Indians' GM Mark Shapiro stated that he hopes to see some development over the second half of the season, according to MLB.com. Shapiro said, "I absolutely want to see some development. There are some young players up here that we need to get back on track to ensure the team is in a position to do what we want to do next year."

Our View: One of the players Shapiro is referring to is 24-year-old hurler Aaron Laffey. He has potential to develop into a solid starter in Cleveland, but currently holds a 4.24 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 40.1 innings of work.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/8, 10:09 PM CT
In his first start off the DL Aaron Laffey was knocked around by the White Sox to the tune of four runs, seven hits and two walks in six innings on Wednesday. He took the loss as Chicago prevailed with a 5-1 win.

Our View: Laffey is now 3-2 on the season with a 4.24 ERA, and isn't worth a starter's spot in mixed leagues until he proves that hes healthy and effective once again. Stash him on your roster for now and watch to see if he improves.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/8, 12:00 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that the Cleveland Indians have activated starter Aaron Laffey to start on Wednesday against the While Sox. The team also optioned lefty Rafael Perez to Triple-A Columbus to make room on the roster.

Our View: Laffey struggled badly in his rehab stint, but he claims he was focused more on working on pitches than the result. At any rate, Laffey is not a strong fantasy play for today's game, and he will really have to put together some solid starts before fantasy owners will feel comfortable utilizing him again.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 7/5, 8:48 AM CT
Aaron Laffey got pounded again in Triple-A on Friday in his fourth minor league rehab start, according to MLB.com. Laffey went four innings and allowed seven runs on ten hits while walking two.

Our View: The Indians keep talking about bringing Laffey back up, but he is continually getting pounded in the minors. Until he puts together a solid minor league start, don't expect to see him rejoin the Tribe. If he does come back, he will have no fantasy value until he proves he is better than he is showing right now.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 6/29, 5:44 PM CT
Aaron Laffey is slated to start another game in the minors after giving up three runs and six walks in his last outing Sunday, according to MLB.com.

Our View: So Laffey will not be returning to the Indians' rotation this week. He has been rehabbing from a strained right oblique, which compromised his control in Sunday's outing. The club needs him to get back on target before returning.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 6/29, 9:45 AM CT
According to MLB.com, Indians' starter Aaron Laffey struggled in his rehab start on Sunday. Laffey went 3.1 innings and allowed three runs on five hits while walking six, striking out two, and hitting a batter.

Our View: Laffey was expected to rejoin the Indians' rotation later this week, but you have to wonder if it will happen after this horrendous start with the Double-A club. If Laffey does return this week, it would be wise to stay away until he proves that this start was the exception rather than the rule.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 6/27, 9:48 AM CT
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, injured lefty Aaron Laffey is scheduled to pitch five innings in a Double-A rehab start on Sunday.

Our View: Laffey has been on the shelf since May 23rd with a strained oblique, but the hurler says he feels great now. If all goes well with Sunday's start he could rejoin the Indians rotation next week. If he's still on the waiver wire and you need starters, he could be a nice pick up.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 6/24, 11:10 AM CT
According to the Plain Dealer, Aaron Laffey tossed four scoreless innings in a rehab start on Tuesday.

Our View: Laffey, recovering from a strained oblique, gave up just one hit and one walk while striking out four. He used 60 of the 65 pitches he was limited to, and will move up to 80 next time around. There is still no concrete timetable for his return, but he looks to be progressing and may be able to come back early next month.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 6/15, 10:41 AM CT
MLB.com reports that Aaron Laffey threw his third bullpen session on Saturday in his rehab from a strained oblique muscle. He will throw a simulated session against live hitters on Monday. Assuming he has no setbacks, he will then set out on a rehab assignment on Thursday.

Our View: Laffey has worked in the rotation and out of the bullpen this season and it's uncertain where he will end up once he is healthy. Jake Westbrook is also nearing a return which would bolster the rotation. The Indians currently feature the likes of David Huff, Jeremy Sowers, and Tomo Ohka in the rotation.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 6/10, 5:58 PM CT
Aaron Laffey threw a 30-pitch bullpen on Tuesday and will throw a 40-pitch session on Thursday, according to MLB.com. The Indians are hoping he will return around the end of June or beginning of July.

Our View: Laffey is recovering from an oblique strain. Once he does return, it is not certain if he will rejoin the rotation or come out of the bullpen. Anthony Reyes has been lost for the season, but Jake Westbrook should return around the same time as Laffey.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 5/25, 6:51 PM CT
MLB.com reports that pitcher Aaron Laffey will miss four to six weeks with his oblique strain.

Our View: Laffey has bounced back and forth between the bullpen and the rotation this season. He has been mostly effective, especially compared to the rest of the staff, but he holds next to no fantasy value as a reliever.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 5/23, 11:28 AM CT
Aaron Laffey has been placed on the 15-day DL by the Indians, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Laffey suffered an oblique injury is his last outing. Jeremy Sowers was recalled from Triple-A Columbus to fill his spot on the roster.

Our View: Laffey could serve as a starter, but was pitching as a reliever as the club gravely needed help in the bullpen. He is still worth holding onto in deeper AL-only leagues.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 5/22, 9:03 PM CT
Aaron Laffey left Friday's game with an injury to his side, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. He took the loss after allowing two runs in 1.1 innings of work.

Our View: This was awful timing for Laffey and the Indians. He had already replaced Anthony Reyes as he left earlier in the night with an injured elbow.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 5/6, 10:53 PM CT
in his first appearance out of the bullpen in his major league career, Aaron Laffey pitched three scoreless innings for the Indians on his way to earning a save.

Our View: When you throw three or more innings in relief, a save can be awarded. Considering that he allowed a mere two base runners in the three innings, he fully deserved the save, a nice bonus for those of you who didn't get the news that he was pulled from the starting rotation in favor of Jeremy Sowers.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 4/26, 3:10 PM CT
Aaron Laffey moved to 2-0 on the season as he picked up the win for the Indians on Sunday against the Twins. Laffey went 6.1 innings and allowed two runs on five hits with four walks and a strikeout.

Our View: Laffey has been effective so far in 2009, and that continued in his outing today. His ERA now sits at 2.41 on the season, and although he doesn't strike a ton of guys out, his fantasy value is increasing each time he toes the rubber.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 4/21, 9:38 PM CT
Aaron Laffey allowed only one run over seven innings of work as the Indians beat the Royals 8-7 on Tuesday. He allowed seven hits, three walks, and struck out three.

Our View: Once again, Cleveland's shaky bullpen nearly blew the game as they allowed six runs in the final two innings. Laffey has looked pretty solid in his first two outings, but we want to see more games like this before we believe he is for real.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 4/15, 4:30 PM CT
Aaron Laffey threw a nice game in his first start of 2009 on Wednesday, going 5.1 innings and allowing two runs on only three hits. He also struck out five and walked three. He did not factor in the decision.

Our View: Laffey could be worth a look in AL-only leagues, as the Indians figure to get better offensively. The question remains as to whether or not he will stay in the Indians' rotation. If he keeps pitching well, he could cement his spot on this team.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 4/15, 9:07 AM CT
Aaron Laffey has been recalled by the Indians from Triple-A Columbus, according to the Sports Network. The club optioned infielder Josh Barfield to Columbus as the adjoining move.

Our View: He is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Royals. Laffey replaces Scott Lewis, who is on the 15-day DL with an elbow injury. Laffey held a 4.23 ERA and 1.43 ERA over 16 starts in 2008, and is only worth a look for deeper AL-only leagues.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 4/13, 7:06 PM CT
The AP reports that the Indians plan to call up Aaron Laffey to make the start against Kansas City on Wednesday. He is taking Scott Lewis' place in the rotation. Lewis is on the 15-day DL with an elbow injury.

Our View: The Indians rotation has not looked good this season, and Laffey could stay up with a couple of good starts. He made 16 starts last season and went 5-7 with a 4.23 ERA and 1.43 WHIP. He is not a strikeout pitcher and does holds next to no fantasy value at this point.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 3/25, 11:43 AM CT
The Indians demoted pitcher Aaron Laffey to the minor league camp on Wednesday, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports. He posted a 6.92 ERA over 13.0 innings this spring.

Our View: Laffey is coming off a disappointing 2008, and it looks like he needs to rediscover his stuff and confidence at Triple-A. The southpaw doesn't turn 24 until this April, and we haven't given up on him being an effective major league starter down the road.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 3/19, 7:01 PM CT
Aaron Laffey gave up three hits, two walks, and three earned runs over four innings as Cleveland lost to Mileaukee 7-5 on Thursday.

Our View: Laffey is competing for a spot in Cleveland's shaky rotation, but he'll have to improve his 6.92 spring ERA if he hopes to get the nod. Several of Cleveland's pitchers have struggled this spring, so he still has a good shot, but he's not a strong fantasy investment.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 3/19, 9:03 AM CT
Aaron Laffey will start today's exhibition game against the Brewers, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: Laffey needs to have a solid performance today while still competing with Jeremy Sowers for a spot in the rotation.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 3/14, 9:20 AM CT
Aaron Laffey feels great so far in spring training as his legs have stayed strong, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He said, "I have been hitting the hot and cold tubs in our training room as much as I can, just to keep my legs fresh. They always say pitching is all legs. If you are fresh in the lower half, even if you're sore or lagging behind in the upper half, your legs really help you a lot."

Our View: This is encouraging for Laffey, who is battling Jeremy Sowers for a spot in the rotation. Laffey would be worth a look for AL-only leagues if he earns a spot.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 3/13, 7:31 PM CT
Aaron Laffey pitched four scoreless innings and did not surrender a hit Friday against the A's.

Our View: Laffey will have to improve upon his 1.38:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio from 2008. He struck out 43 while walking 31 in just over 93 innings last season. The ratio isn't terrible, but it's a bit high for a hurler who pitches to contact.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 3/10, 12:32 PM CT
Aaron Laffey is considered the favorite for the fifth spot in the Indians' rotation, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: Laffey has not been performing well in spring games so far, and the lefty should only be considered for deeper AL-only leagues as of now. His low strikeout-rate will leave a bit to be desired as well.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 3/7, 8:28 PM CT
Aaron Laffey gave up three runs off four hits and one walk while striking out two in just one innings against Kansas City on Saturday.

Our View: After an average first outing this spring, Laffey has been awful in his last two. He'll have to step his game up if wants to hold onto his starting spot in Cleveland's rotation.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 2/26, 6:54 PM CT
Aaron Laffey allowed an unearned on two hits in two innings of work Thursday in the Indians' 15-9 loss to the D-Backs.

Our View: Laffey figures to battle Tomo Ohka for the fifth spot in a rotation that features Jake Westbrook, Fausto Carmona, Carl Pavano, and Jeremy Sowers.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 1/26, 7:01 AM CT
Aaron Laffey is aiming for a spot in the Indians' rotation, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He said, "Last year I put too much pressure on myself and tried to do too much. That is not me. I'm going to go out there and compete and be myself on the field and off it."

Our View: Cliff Lee, Fausto Carmona and Carl Pavano will be the first three pitchers in the rotation, and the last two spots are up for grabs. Laffey will be competing with Jeremy Sowers, Anthony Reyes, David Huff, Scott Lewis and Zach Jackson.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 9/28, 10:20 AM CT
Aaron Laffey's sore elbow is back to 100 percent health, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

Our View: He has full range of motion again. If healthy, he could push for a spot in the Indians' 2009 rotation.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 9/2, 7:32 PM CT
Manager Eric Wedge said that Aaron Laffey had a spot in the Indians' rotation waiting for him once he healthy enough to return, but today's news on Laffey's elbow injury trumps Wedge's intentions. Laffey was not part of the September callups today. The reason he wasn't on that list is elbow inflammation that sprouted up in his last two starts at Triple-A Buffalo. According to the Indians' team website Laffey will miss the rest of the season.

Our View: So much for the six-man rotation that Wedge had planned.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 8/11, 1:13 PM CT
Manager Eric Wedge noted that Aaron Laffey has a spot in the Indians' rotation waiting for him, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Wedge said, "We're going to give him time to make sure he gets where he needs to be."

Our View: He helped in his bid to return, as he fired eight scoreless innings for Triple-A Buffalo Saturday.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 7/26, 1:55 PM CT
The Indians have optioned LHP Aaron Laffey to Class AAA Buffalo today to make room for Fausto Carmona, who was activated from the disabled list and will start against the Twins tonight, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: Laffey's demotion means that Matt Ginter will stay in the startng rotation. Ginter, who was out of options, was called up from Class AAA Buffalo on July 12 and is 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA in two starts. In his last two starts, Laffey allowed 16 runs, 11 earned, in 7 2/3 innings. Laffey (5-7, 4.23) has lost his last two starts and four of his last seven.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/23, 6:36 PM CT
Aaron Laffey was pounded until he cried uncle on Wednesday in his seventh loss of the year. Laffey allowed two walks and 12 hits in just four innings which led to eight runs allowed, the third time in 10 starts in which he has allowed eight runs.

Our View: Laffey has permitted 16 runs over his last 7.2 innings, though only 11 of the runs were earned leading to a 12.91 ERA. Obviously Laffey should be benched for the moment, and given his alarming lack of strike outs, just 43 in 93.2 IP, he simply doesn't have enough "stuff" to overcome those days when his control is off.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 7/19, 12:02 AM CT
The Indians found frustration at the park this evening, falling 8-2 to the Mariners. With only six total hits on the night, the team failed to post the bats needed to win, though their starting pitcher didn't help the cause. LHP Aaron Laffey pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs (only three earned) on nine hits with two walks and one strikeout.

Our View: Laffey is still young and growing but had shown great promise over recent starts. Tonight only proves there is work to be done before Laffey realizes his full potential.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 7/10, 9:18 PM CT
Aaron Laffey rebounded from two poor outings to pick up his fifth win on Thursday night as he held the Rays to two runs over six innings.

Our View: Laffey has a 3.45 ERA after 14 starts, and he has been a tremendous waiver-wire pickup this season. Laffey figures to remain in the rotation the rest of the way, and with that he figures to return solid value.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 7/5, 10:26 PM CT
Like counterpoint Kevin Slowey, Aaron Laffey was far from his best on Saturday night allowing five hits, four walks and four runs over five innings.

Our View: Laffey has now allowed nine runs over his last two starts covering 10 innings, and he has walked seven while striking out eight in that time. Given his lack of swing and miss stuff he needs to have pinpoint control to be effective, and he hasn't of late.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 6/29, 3:44 PM CT
Aaron Laffey was rocked for five earned runs on eight hits over five innings in Sunday's 9-5 loss to the Reds, with one walk and two strikeouts.

Our View: He is now 0-2 over his last three starts, with nine earned runs surrendered and only four strikeouts over the span. Keep him on your bench until he proves to be effective again.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 6/24, 10:03 PM CT
The Indians failed to produce the offense needed to get the win, falling 3-2 in a tough battle with the Giants, though LHP Aaron Laffey did what he could to keep his team in the mix. Laffey lasted 6 2/3 innings to surrender just one run on four hits with three walks and one strikeout.

Our View: Laffey walked off the mound with no decision, his third in five starts this month, but his continued battles against the walk (giving up 11, versus just 10 strikeouts) are a worry.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 6/24, 4:50 PM CT
Aaron Laffey is 4-1 with a 0.55 ERA in his last five home starts going back to May 4. He throws again tonight at Progressive Field against Jonathan Sanchez and the Giants.

Our View: Laffey is clearly a strong start at home. However, he is 0-2 with a 5.47 ERA on the road.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 6/12, 9:57 PM CT
Aaron Laffey limited the Twins to just one run over six innings to pick up his fourth victory of the season for the Indians.

Our View: Laffey has turned that frown upside over his last two starts allowing just three runs in 12.2 innings after his worst outing of the season on June 2nd (eight ER). He continues to operate as one of the better soft tossing lefties in the AL this season.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 6/11, 1:26 PM CT
The Indians Confidential reports that Aaron Laffey was named AL Rookie of the Month for May. He went 3-2 with a 0.79 ERA in his five May starts. In his 34.0 innings, he struck out 19 while allowing just 28 hits and seven walks. The 23-year-old left-hander went seven innings in each of his first four May starts and tossed six innings in his last outing in the month, allowing two runs or less in each appearance.

Our View: Well done Aaron. The 23 year-old appears to be the real deal. He has given up just three home runs in 51.1 innings. Two of those came in one game at Texas.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 6/7, 7:39 PM CT
Aaron Laffey continued his run of excellent pitching on Saturday as he limited the Tigers to just two runs over 6.2 innings.

Our View: The only runs Laffey allowed were on a home run by Carlos Guillen. Otherwise he was almost spotless in the outing. It's probably time to sell him in mixed leagues, but he has tremendous value in AL Only leagues.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 6/2, 11:10 PM CT
Aaron Laffey's hot streak came to a halt on Monday night. The young lefty allowed 11 hits and eight runs over five innings against the Rangers. Laffey allowed a grand slam and a two-run homer.

Our View: We didn't expect Laffey to maintain his 1.59 ERA, and we'll learn a lot about the 23-year-old in the near future. It's always interesting to see how youngsters bounce back from outings like this.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 5/27, 9:22 PM CT
It was the offense that shined for Cleveland in tonight's 8-2 win over the Chicago White Sox, but starter Aaron Laffey did more than his fair share to get the victory. Laffey lasted six innings, surrendering just two runs (one earned) on seven hits, walking two but failing to strikeout a single batter.

Our View: Laffey now sits at 3-3 on the season, has won three of his last four starts, and has an impressive 1.59 ERA.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 5/27, 10:56 AM CT
Aaron Laffey will take the hill tonight at home against the rival White Sox, according to MLB.com. Laffey is only 2-3 over five starts this season, but has a strong 1.60 ERA and 0.89 WHIP.

Our View: Laffey allowed just two runs on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts in seven-plus innings in his previous outing against Chicago last Thursday. He would have more wins if not for poor run support by his team-mates and should be in your starting rotation, despite a tough match-up against the AL Central leading Sox.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 5/22, 10:02 PM CT
Cleveland LHP Aaron Laffey put a strong effort on the mound tonight but the Indians couldn't get bats on the pitches from Chicago's Mark Buehrle, giving the Indians a tough 2-1 loss. Laffey pitched seven innings, surrendering just two runs on six hits with one walk and six strikeouts on the night.

Our View: Laffey didn't get the offensive support and thus suffered his third loss of the season. He has surrendered just four earned runs combined over his last four starts with five walks versus 19 strikeouts.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 5/22, 1:58 PM CT
Aaron Laffey is set for his fifth start of the season tonight against the rival White Sox in Chicago, according to MLB.com. Laffey is currently 2-2 with a strong 1.35 ERA and 0.86 WHIP.

Our View: Laffey is pitching among the best in the league right now as he has only allowed two runs (neither earned) over his last three starts (21 innings), with 13 strikeouts and only four walks. Start him if you have him tonight, despite a tough match-up against the first place Sox.
Aaron Laffey, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 5/15, 2:41 PM CT
Aaron Laffey evened his record to 2-2 in today's 4-2 win over the Athletics. Laffey was in control on the mound as he only allowed one run on five hits over seven innings, with one walk and six strikeouts. Laffey lowered his ERA to 1.35 with today's strong effort as well.

Our View: Laffey has only allowed one earned run over his last three starts (21 innings), with only four walks over that span as well.

Cleveland LHP Aaron Laffey gave up his fair share of hits this evening, but none resulted in a single run as the Indians put him into his first win of the season, 12-0. Laffey pitched seven innings, failing to allow a single run on six hits with one walk and two strike outs.

Our View: Laffey has suffered loss in his only two starts of the season prior to win #1, though he has pitched rather well, allowing just 13 combined hits through all three starts with four walks and eight strike outs.

Aaron Laffey will be looking for his first win of the season when the Indians host the Blue Jays today, according to MLB.com. Laffey is 0-2 with a 2.84 ERA and 0.79 WHIP, and is 0-3 with a 4.26 ERA in four career home games at Progressive Field.

Our View: Laffey is pitching well despite his winless record, and only allowed one run over seven innings in his last loss. Toronto is a good match-up for him, and he is worth starting if you have him on your roster.

Aaron Laffey pitched very well despite taking a loss to the Royals on Sunday. He only allowed one run on four hits over seven innings, with two walks and five strikeouts. Cleveland was shut out 2-0 in the loss.

Aaron Laffey held the Yankee bats without a hit for five innings on Monday night, and then was the victim of three infield hits and a hit batsman before allowing four sixth-inning runs. The left-hander gave up the four runs on three hits, also walked and struck out one.

Our View: Laffey, who was called up to make his season debut for Cleveland, was the victim of bad luck and a poorly timed hit batsman.

Aaron Laffey will be called up from the minors to start against the Yankees tonight, according to IndiansConfidential.com. The team originally called up Jeremy Sowers to cover the rotation spot left open by the injured Jake Westbrook, but the team was not pleased with his first outing, and sent him back down. Laffey will now get a shot to cover for Westbrook, and the team is sending down outfielder Brad Snyder to make room on the roster.

Our View: Laffey went 4-2 over nine starts in 2007, with a passable 1.34 WHIP. The team is hopeful he can be more effective than Sowers.

The Indians will call up either Aaron Laffey or Jeremy Sowers to replace the injured Jake Westbrook, MLB.com reports. Westbrook's spot is open on Saturday, when Sowers is also slated to work for Triple-A Buffalo. Laffey is due to start Thursday. "They're throwing the ball well," manager Eric Wedge says. "We have considerable history with both of them, and we feel good about how they were throwing the ball this spring. So we'll see."

Our View: Laffey and Sowers have produced similar numbers at Triple-A thus far, and all we can do is wait and see which southpaw the Indians pick. Whomever gets the call will have value in AL-only leagues, especially since Westbrook could miss up to a month.

Aaron Laffey allowing only two runs on three hits in eight innings for his second win of the season at Triple-A on Monday night. He is now 2-1 with a 4.00 ERA on the year.

Our View: The Indians are in very good hands with Laffey as a potential replacement should something happen to their current starting five. The lefty posted a 4.56 ERA in nine starts for the Indians last season, and his solid groundball rate and control makes him a fair AL-only option should he get another chance to join the rotation this season.

The Indians will send left-hander Aaron Laffey to the mound for his first major league start on Saturday, Sportsticker reported. Laffey, who will be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo following Friday's game against Minnesota, is 7-3 with a 3.28 ERA this season.

Our View: Laffey gets the spot vacated by Cliff Lee and could keep the job if he pitches well. But the Indians signed Scott Elarton on Friday as well, so would likely give him a shot down the road if Laffey isn't dominant.
