Not because he performed poorly, but because the Orioles couldn't find enough innings for him to work. At Norfolk, he's gone 1-5 with a 4.05 ERA in 11 starts. Liz was 0-2 with a 6.93 ERA in nine appearances, including four starts, for the Orioles in 2007.

Our View: Liz struggled in his major league time last season and has also started this season off terribly for Triple-A Norfolk, but he remains one of the better high upside pitching prospects in the minors. He had a 3.22 ERA and 161 strikeouts in 137 innings at Double-A last season, and his 24/6 K/BB ratio in 21.2 innings this season is encouraging. With Baltimore’s rebuilding effort, we will probably see Liz in the rotation by the end of the season.
