Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 10/3, 2:44 PM CT
Mark Reynolds had his fifth four-strikeout game of the season on Saturday, as the Diamondbacks whiffed 12 times as a team in 5-0 loss at Wrigley Field.

Our View: A truly inexcusable stat from Reynolds. The four strikeouts upped his major league record total from 2009 to 220, shattering his previous MLB record of 204 from last season. All the home runs are nice, but if he doesn't cut down on his absurd amount of unproductive outs at some point, he won't remain a viable player.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 9/20, 10:56 AM CT
With 202 strikeouts entering play on Sunday, Mark Reynolds has a good chance of breaking the single season "record" of 204 he set last year. He will be facing the Rockies' Ubaldo Jimenez, who has fanned Reynolds four times in nine plate appearances between the two.

Our View: It's disheartening to see Reynolds not cut down at all on his mammoth 2008 strikeout total, but at least he has improved in almost every other offensive category, including average, home runs, steals and RBI. He will be a premier fantasy player in 2010.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 9/17, 12:09 AM CT
Mark Reynolds went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts on Wednesday. The four strikeouts gave him 200 on the season, and just the second 200-K year in major league history.

Our View: The other 200-K campaign? Reynolds in 2008. His power is prolific, but if he is unable to cut down on all the unproductive outs, he will eventually be of very little value to major league clubs.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 8/28, 11:54 PM CT
Mark Reynolds picked up his 87th and 88th RBI on Friday, as the Diamondbacks pinned a 14-spot on the Astros in Phoenix.

Our View: After missing three games with the flu, Reynolds now has four RBI in two games since returning to the lineup.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 8/28, 12:20 AM CT
After missing three games with the summertime flu, Mark Reynolds returned to the lineup on Thursday and promptly hit his 39th home run, helping Arizona win 11-0 in San Francisco.

Our View: If Reynolds has a hot September, he has an outside shot at becoming the first Diamondback to hit 50 home runs since Luis Gonzalez in 2001.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 8/27, 8:53 AM CT
MLB.com reports that Arizona slugger Mark Reynolds expects to be back in the starting lineup for Thursday's game.

Our View: Reynolds has been battling the flu and already missed three straight games. He was diagnosed with a severe stomach virus and a slight case of pneumonia, so the last few days have been very unpleasant for Reynolds. Sounds like he's turned the corner though and should be good to get back into fantasy lineups for today's contest.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 8/23, 1:59 PM CT
Mark Reynolds was held out of Arizona's lineup on Sunday as he deals with the flu, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: The slugging third baseman sounds like he is pretty sick, so he may not return until the middle of the week.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 8/20, 9:07 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-3 to snap an 0-for-7 skid on Thursday, but didn't drive in any runs, as Arizona got hammered 12-3 in Philadelphia.

Our View: The strikeout king Reynolds was coming off a four-K night, so it was nice to see him make some contact on Thursday. Expect the homers to keep coming in bunches down the stretch for the slugging third baseman.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 8/17, 6:15 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 9-4 loss at Atlanta. He hit a single and a two-run homer off Boone Logan.

Our View: Reynolds impressively swatted his ninth homer of August, and is now tied with Albert Pujols for the MLB lead with 38.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 8/15, 11:37 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Jonathan Broxton in tonight's 4-3 win over the Dodgers at Chase Field.

Our View: Reynolds impressively hit eight homers so far in August, and ranks second in the majors behind Albert Pujols (38) with 37 for the season.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 8/14, 11:49 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 1-for-2 with a run scored on Friday night, as the D-Backs 4-1 beat the Dodgers 4-1, but most notably recorded only one of Arizona's 11 strikeouts.

Our View: It's not a new Mark Reynolds, however. The slugging third baseman still has nearly as many Ks, 15, as hits, 16, this month.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 8/10, 3:12 PM CT
Diamondbacks' infielder Mark Reynolds has been named the NL Player of the Week, according to The Sports Network. Reynolds went 13-for-29 with six homers and ten RBI last week.

Our View: Reynolds has been one of the biggest fantasy surprises in the league this season, and at this point he looks like the real deal. When he keeps the strikeouts down and the average up, he can be a fantasy force. If you have him, keep rising him the rest of the way.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 8/9, 4:02 PM CT
Mark Reynolds hit his 36th home run on Sunday, tying Albert Pujols for the league lead, but that was the D-Backs only highlight, as they lost 9-2 in Washington D.C. to get swept.

Our View: Reynolds' monster season should put to rest all the jokes about his sometimes questionable plate discipline, and he looks positioned to be one of the game's premier power hitters for years to come.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 8/8, 9:39 PM CT
Mark Reynolds hit another home run on Saturday night. The slugging third baseman accounted for all the D-Backs' runs by launching his 35th of the season in a 5-2 loss to the Nationals.

Our View: Reynolds now trails Albert Pujols by one in the home run department this season. He's been one of the biggest fantasy surprises all year. While the power has always been there, it is no longer accompanied y a dismal average. He's hitting .289 this season.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 8/7, 9:20 PM CT
Mark Reynolds' monster season continued on Friday, as the slugging third baseman collected three hits and clubbed his 34th home run in Arizona's 7-6 loss to the Nationals.

Our View: Looks like that ribcage is doing just fine. If you hesitated to start him tonight because of the injury, don't make the same mistake tomorrow.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 8/7, 6:37 PM CT
Mark Reynolds was in the Diamondbacks lineup on Friday, one day after leaving the team's game with a strained ribcage, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Mr. Home Run or Strikeout will likely do plenty of both over the weekend, and should be in your lineup without hesitation
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 8/7, 8:35 AM CT
Mark Reynolds left Thursday's game against the Pirates with a strained ribcage, according to MLBlogs.com. The injury is not being considered serious, and Reynolds expects to be in the lineup Friday.

Our View: With Justin Upton on the DL, the D-Backs could not afford to lose Reynolds as well, so it's good that the injury is minor. His 33 home runs and .284 average have been major surprises this season, and right now he is a fantasy machine for owners.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 8/6, 10:54 PM CT
Mark Reynolds continued his amazing season Thursday night, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and his 33rd home run. The Diamondbacks beat Pittsburgh 11-6 in 12 innings.

Our View: Reynolds is still striking out a ton, but is actually batting .284 - a huge improvement over his .239 from 2008.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 8/3, 9:06 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-5 with two homers and three RBI in tonight's 6-5 win at New York.

Our View: Reynolds hit two homers in a game for the third time this season, and hit a homer in six of his last seven games. He remains second in the majors with 32 homers.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 8/1, 9:42 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Brian Stokes in tonight's 9-6 loss at New York.

Our View: Reynolds is now the second player in the majors to reach 30 homers this season, joining Albert Pujols (34). Reynolds homered in five of his last six games.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 7/31, 10:09 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a solo homer off Livan Hernandez in tonight's close 3-2 win at New York. His other knock was a double.

Our View: Reynolds clubbed eight homers in July, and now currently ranks second in the NL with 29. He should remain a strong source for power if the third baseman can remain healthy down the stretch.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 7/27, 11:59 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Ryan Madson in tonight's 6-2 loss to the Phillies at Chase Field.

Our View: Reynolds has homered in back-to-back games, and now ranks second in the NL with 27 home runs for the season. He needs one more to tie his season-high of 28 set in 2008 as well.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 7/26, 5:57 PM CT
Mark Reynolds slammed his 26th home run of the season on Sunday, helping Max Scherzer and the Diamondbacks subdue Pittsburgh 9-0.

Our View: Reynolds has blossomed into one of the game's elite power hitters in 2009. He still strikes out an absurd amount of times, but keeps his average respectable and steals a good amount of bases. He should be one of the first third basemen off the board next year.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 7/20, 10:59 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 1-for-2 with a solo homer off Jorge De La Rosa in tonight's 10-6 loss at Colorado.

Our View: Reynolds crushed his 25th homer of the season, with the assistance of launching pad Coors Field. He is currently tied for second in the NL in homers (with Raul Ibanez), and should remain a strong source for power in fantasy leagues.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 7/18, 10:15 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 3-for-5 with three runs scored in tonight's 4-2 win at St. Louis. All three of his hits were singles.

Our View: Reynolds has five hits over his last two games, and continues to lead Arizona with 58 runs scored. He has now gone nine straight games without a homer though.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 7/5, 8:04 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer off Ubaldo Jimenez in Sunday's 4-3 win at Colorado.

Our View: Reynolds hit a homer in three of five games in July, with tonight's shot coming at launching pad Coors Field. He is now tied for second in the NL (with Adrian Gonzalez) with 24 home runs.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 7/4, 11:17 PM CT
Mark Reynolds hit his 23rd home run of the season on Saturday night as the Diamondbacks pounded the Rockies 9-6.

Our View: Reynolds continues to put up big numbers in '09, and is making a strong case for his first All-Star game appearance.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 7/2, 3:23 PM CT
Mark Reynolds' 22nd homer of the season gave the Diamondbacks a 2-1 lead, but a blown save attempt by Chad Qualls cost the slugger his game-winning RBI. It was Reynolds' only hit in four trips and Arizona lost a heart-breaker in the tenth to the Reds 3-2.

Our View: Reynolds is actually putting together a fine fantasy campaign in 2009. His 22 homers are accompanied by a .270 average and 57 RBI. The power has always been there, but Reynolds is making real strides this season with his overall plate production. Last year he hit just .239 with 204 Ks.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 6/30, 9:21 PM CT
Mark Reynolds led the Diamondbacks offensively in tonight's 6-2 win at Cincinnati, as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. He hit a double and two singles.

Our View: He raised his batting average to .274, and continues to lead Arizona with 56 RBI.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 6/26, 1:28 AM CT
Mark Reynolds went 3-for-6 with four RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 9-8 loss to the Rangers at Chase Field. He hit two home runs and a single. The battle lasted 12 innings.

Our View: Reynolds continues to generate strong numbers in Arizona, as he leads the club with 21 homers and 53 RBI. He has eight homers and 23 RBI so far in June.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 6/21, 7:12 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer off Felix Hernandez in Sunday's 3-2 loss at Seattle.

Our View: Reynolds hit his team-leading 19th homer of the season, with six coming so far this month. He should remain a solid source for power in fantasy leagues as long as he stays healthy.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 6/15, 1:36 PM CT
Mark Reynolds was named co-National League player of the week for the week ending June 14 according to The Sports Network.

Our View: Reynolds crushed the ball all week long, hitting three home runs and driving in nine. He also stole a base and raised his average from .264 to .281. This goes a long way toward offsetting the other piece of Reynolds news that has come out in the last week - he is on pace to break his own single season record for most strikeouts.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 6/13, 10:35 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Astros at Chase Field.

Our View: Reynolds is only hitting .278, but leads Arizona with 16 homers and 44 RBI. He should remain productive in fantasy leagues.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 6/12, 11:24 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 4-for-5 with five RBI in Friday's 8-1 win over the Astros at Chase Field. He had three doubles and a three-run homer.

Our View: Reynolds remains Arizona's best offensive player, as he leads the club with 16 homers and 42 RBI. He has been a solid fantasy contributor as well.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 6/12, 10:38 AM CT
The Arizona Republic reports that Mark Reynolds is on pace to strike out 231 times this season, which would shatter the major league record of 204 he set last season.

Our View: As is always the case with Reynolds, his staggering amount of strikeouts are threatening to overshadow the good things he is doing. He is currently sixth in the National League in strikeouts and a surprising sixth in steals. Despite all the Ks, he is a solid option at third base.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 6/7, 9:25 PM CT
Mark Reynolds hit a three run homer in the 18th inning of Sunday's game against the Padres to give Arizona a 9-6 win. It was his only hit in seven at-bats. He also walked twice.

Our View: Reynolds came through in a big way in an absolute marathon game. The homer was his 14th and Reynolds appears to be a consistent source of pop in fantasy lineups. He's also hitting .266 this season, significantly higher than his .239 season a year ago.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 5/28, 11:33 PM CT
Mark Reynolds had a nice night at the plate on Thursday in the Diamondbacks' 5-2 win over the Braves. Reynolds went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored, and two RBI in the game.

Our View: Reynolds hasn't been outstanding this season, but he has been one of the better hitters in Arizona's lineup. He is showing decent power, and he is also stealing some bases, which makes him a decent fantasy option.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 5/21, 9:27 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-3 and ripped his 12th homer of the season on Thursday. He drove in three of the Diamondback's four runs in their win over the Marlins and stole a base along the way.

Our View: Reynolds is showing off his power this season, with 12 homers already and has displayed a fine running game as well with ten steals. He's hitting .266 and has driven in 23 and looks like a fine all-around fantasy talent right now.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 5/11, 11:12 AM CT
Mark Reynolds started at first base Sunday, and new skipper A.J. Hinch noted that the move was only temporary, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: Regular first baseman Conor Jackson was out due to a fever, and Hinch moved Reynolds across the diamond to start Ryan Roberts at third. There is belief that Reynolds could limit his errors with a move to first, which would also give Chad Tracy more playing time at third, but Reynolds does not expect to see much more action at first.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 5/3, 7:31 PM CT
Mark Reynolds was 1-for-4 with a home run and two strikeouts in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Brewers.

Our View: This was a pretty typical game for Reynolds. He's feast or famine as far as his home run and strikeout totals. He has six long balls on the season, but has already whiffed 28 times. Still, the .267 average is better than what he's put up in the past.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 4/26, 9:05 PM CT
Mark Reynolds homered and drove in two with a 2-for-5 performance in the Diamondbacks' 5-4, 12-inning win over the Giants on Sunday.

Our View: Reynolds now has five long balls on the season, but they're not accompanied by his usual low average. He's hitting a respectable .274 and if he can keep the average up he becomes a much more promising fantasy player. He still racks up the Ks though and has 22 already.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 4/19, 8:24 PM CT
Mark Reynolds did not start on Sunday due to a strained left quadricep, according to MLB.com. Manager Bob Melvin said Reynolds could have played if needed.

Our View: Reynolds has two home runs through two weeks and he will have to maintain his power stroke to maintain his fantasy value. Don't expect the strain to be a serious issue going forward.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 4/4, 12:02 AM CT
Mark Reynolds was 1-for-4 with an RBI on Friday against the White Sox.

Our View: Reynolds enjoyed a successful spring at the plate, but fantasy owners aren't holding their breath. They'd prefer to play the "I'll believe it when I see" game with Reynolds, who struck out a record 204 times last season.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 3/27, 6:01 PM CT
Mark Reynolds was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 9-3 win over the Angels.

Our View: Reynolds is hitting .348 this spring. That's .109 points higher than he hit last season. Expect the average to drop and the Ks to pile up. His power is great, but if he doesn't improve in other areas he may find himself out of a job.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 3/15, 8:38 PM CT
Mark Reynolds hit a solo shot in Sunday's 10-7 loss to the Cubs. It was his only hit in three at-bats. He also struck out but did not commit any errors.

Our View: Reynolds hit 28 home runs last season, but that may be the peak of his power. He is probably the worse defensive regular at his position, so unless he can begin to show some improvement with the leather and shed a few of those 204 strikeouts from his total, he may not be an everyday player for very long.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 9/28, 11:23 PM CT
Mark Reynolds struck out twice on Sunday to extend his major league record to 204 for the season.

Our View: Reynolds also committed an error in the game giving him 35 on the year.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 9/25, 2:14 PM CT
Diamondbacks third baseman Mark Reynolds has set a new record, according to DBacks.com. With his second inning strikeout in St. Louis on Thursday, he has become the first person in the long history of major league baseball to strike out 200 times in one season.

Our View: Congratualtions must go out to Reynolds for accomplishing this historic feat. The team has a few more games left, so it is likely he will fan at least a few more times this season.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 9/24, 10:20 PM CT
Mark Reynolds struck out for the 199th time and made is 34th error of the season in the Diamondbacks 2-4 loss in St. Louis on Wednesday.

Our View: Sure he's got 28 home runs and 94 RBI, but Reynolds is one of the biggest defensive liabilities in the game. He will have to find his way over to the AL if he hopes to prolong his career.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 9/16, 10:43 AM CT
Arizona's Mark Reynolds is nearing the dubious distinction of becoming the first player in the history of baseball to strikeout 200 times - that is, unless Ryan Howard does it first, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: Howard currently has 190 strikeouts to Reynolds' 187. The all-time record is 199, set by Howard. It seems quite possible that both could end up flying past the mark this year.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 8/20, 9:36 PM CT
Mark Reynolds has been taking ground balls at second base during batting practice, according to DBacks.com. Outfielder Justin Upton will make his return soon, and to get the best offense on the field, it could lead Reynolds to second, Chad Tracy to third and Adam Dunn to first.

Our View: Reynolds owners should be happy to hear this news, as he would soon become eligible to play second in fantasy leagues. Which means Reynolds could be replacing a hitter who does not have much power (outside of the Chase Utley's of the world, of course). That would open up rosters for adding another third baseman with the potential for more long balls.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 8/12, 2:10 PM CT
The move of Adam Dunn from Cincinnati to Arizona could turn Mark Reynolds into a second baseman. The season-ending wrist injury to Orlando Hudson and the addition of Dunn will shuffle the Diamondbacks lineup. Justin Upton is nearing a return from the disabled list, which will force the hand of the coaching staff.

Our View: If Upton returns to his starting spot in right field Dunn will have to find a place to play. That figures to be in left field or first base. Picture this: Dunn moves to left field, Conor Jackson skips across the diamond to first base, Chad Tracy crosses the pitching mound to third base and Mark Reynolds gets the start at second. Of course, Upton could lose his starting status and become a bench hitter and rover.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 8/4, 11:53 PM CT
Diamondbacks third baseman Mark Reynolds had a big night in his team's victory over Pittsburgh, going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI.

Our View: Reynolds is a very streaky hitter, and he struggled in July and the beginning of August, so maybe this is the beginning of a hot streak.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 7/31, 12:00 AM CT
Mark Reynolds had two hits on Wednesday including his 22nd long ball of the year for Arizona.

Our View: Reynolds already has 132 strike outs on the year in just 354 at-bats, and if not for the presence of Ryan Howard everyone would be talking about this king of whiff. He has enough power to stay in the lineup, but he must rectify his utter inability to make contact.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 7/13, 3:43 PM CT
Mark Reynolds 0-for-4 with three strikeouts for the Diamondbacks today, and his average for the month of July is now under .200.

Our View: Reynolds is a very streaky hitter, and though he has good power numbers, his average being under .250 hurts those who have him on their fantasy squad.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 7/11, 7:00 PM CT
Mark Reynolds was held out of the lineup on Friday. He made three (3) errors on Thursday.

Our View: Reynolds has committed a Major League-leading 19 errors this season. He has also struggled at the plate lately, hitting .143 (3-for-21) in his last seven games.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 7/10, 10:42 PM CT
Mark Reynolds had one RBI on a night in which he made three errors in the field for the Diamondbacks.

Our View: Reynolds has committed 19 errors, and with 106 K in just 300 AB, there has to be some concern that his deficiencies are rendering his talents (18 HR, 54 RBI) somewhat moot. With Chad Tracy back and healthy, the team could make a move to add an outfielder which would force Conor Jackson back to first base and potentially send Tracy back to the position of filling in at both corners which could eat into Reynolds playing time.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 7/3, 8:53 AM CT
The Arizona Republic reports that Mark Reynolds had an MRI performed on his left wrist yesterday after being hit by a line drive in the first inning. The MRI did not reveal a fracture.

Our View: Mark, buddy, use your glove to catch line drives, not your forearm. He could be back in the lineup as early as Thursday, but that's far from a guarantee.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 7/2, 11:50 AM CT
Mark Reynolds has improved his eye this season. The D'Backs third baseman is hitting .262 and while he's still only walking once for every three strike outs, he has a much more consistent approach at the plate.

Our View: The trade off for the lack of walks and the high number of strike outs is Reynold's team leading 17 home runs.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 6/21, 10:03 PM CT
Mark Reynolds had to leave Saturday's game in the seventh inning after he rolled his right ankle on a groundout to third, according to SportsTicker. Augie Ojeda replaced him in the field.

Our View: Reynolds didn't even attempt to run to first, so he must have sprained it pretty good. We'll update you on his status when more is known.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 6/11, 10:48 PM CT
Mark Reynolds hit his 15th long ball of the year on Wednesday night, a 3-run shot off of Billy Wagner in the ninth inning.

Our View: Reynolds now has four home runs and six RBI in his last four games, and his overall production has him at .270-32-105 in 587 career AB, despite an incredible 206 strikeouts.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 6/9, 3:36 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in Monday's 5-3 loss to Pittsburgh. His other two hits both went for doubles.

Our View: He has 14 homers and 40 RBI over 59 games. He now has three homers over his last two games, as he hit a pair last night in a 6-4 loss to the Pirates.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 6/8, 3:56 PM CT
Mark Reynolds hit a pair of bombs in Sunday's 6-4 loss to Pittsburgh. The third baseman now has 13 dingers and 39 RBI on the year.

Our View: Reynolds has been an all-or-nothing player this year, with a .250 average and 70 strikeouts to go along with his 13 homers.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 6/3, 10:15 PM CT
Arizona was struggling from the outset this evening, taking the 7-1 loss against the Milwaukee Brewers, but the finger of blame does not fall towards third baseman Mark Reynolds . Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a walk at the plate, the only Arizona batter with multiple hits, hitting his seventh double of the season to total one RBI on the night.

Our View: Reynolds hit just .235 for the month of May, but he appears to be headed in the right direction, going 9-for-20 over his last seven games.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 5/31, 11:25 PM CT
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-3 with two RBI and blasted a pair of solo homers in Saturday's 4-0 win over Washington.

Our View: He is only hitting .240, but has 11 homers and 32 RBI over 51 games, with 38 runs scored. He was cold throughout May but closed out the month on a high note. Hopefully he can keep the momentum going through June.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 5/29, 12:11 AM CT
The Arizona Diamondbacks suffered a horrendous 11-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants this evening, though third baseman Mark Reynolds tried to keep the results a little less painful. Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a walk at the plate, hitting his ninth home run of the season to post one RBI and two runs scored.

Our View: Reynolds has struggled for offense, hitting just .200 for the month of May. This may get him headed in the right direction.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 5/27, 9:15 AM CT
Chad Tracy is back in Arizona, but Mark Reynolds is safe at third base, according to the Arizona Republic. Manager Bob Melvin stated that Tracy will give the team "thunder off the bench" and called Reynolds "our third baseman." Melvin added, " We'll see how it goes. We'll see physically where we are from day to day. That's why I don't want to go out and say he'll get 'x' amount of at-bats. It's going to be a feel more than anything else."

Our View: Reynolds has cooled off following a fast start this season, and his average now stands at a meager .225, but he shouldn't be in jeopardy of losing his job to Tracy.

Mired in a terrible slump, he was just 1-for-21 entering Sunday, Mark Reynolds went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Our View: Reynolds also stole his fifth base, and other than a poor .233 average, the rest of his batting line looks quite strong for an after thought in most mixed leagues (seven home runs, 28 RBI and 28 runs scored).
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 5/8, 5:19 PM CT
Mark Reynolds had three hits on Thursday and he stole his fourth base for the D'backs.

Our View: Reynolds really needed a big day like this at the plate as his average has hit the skids the past week. Despite the obvious power production, Reynolds has also stolen four bases which is a great bonus.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 5/4, 7:15 PM CT
Despite facing Johan Santana on Sunday, Mark Reynolds had one of his better days of the past two weeks. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI and just one whiff. Reynolds' last two-hit game came on April 20, and he'd struck out at least twice in nine of the previous 10 contests.

Our View: Reynolds is quickly staking his claim as the streakiest hitter in the majors. The guy is a stud when he's seeing the ball, but his down times are really, really awful. It's tough to take in head-to-head leagues, but roto formats allow for us to somewhat ignore the roller coaster.

Mark Reynolds had a tough day at the plate in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Mets, as he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, while leaving seven men on base.

Our View: Reynolds is only hitting .226 over 106 at-bats, with 42 strikeouts, but he should remain in your lineups with seven homers, 24 RBI, 23 runs, and three stolen bases over 28 games.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 4/28, 11:40 PM CT
Mark Reynolds was 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run scored and added a stolen base in the D'backs 5-3 win over Houston on Monday night.

Our View: Reynolds has struck out 36 times in 94 at-bats, but his seven home runs, 24 RBI, 23 runs scored and three stolen bases make up for his sub par .253 batting average.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 4/9, 8:00 AM CT
Mark Reynolds went 2-for-5 with three RBI in a 10-5 win over the Dodgers on Tuesday, and he notably collected his fifth home run of the season. He is off to a great start with a .344 average over 32 at-bats, but he needs to cut down on his strikeouts, which he has nine already.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 4/7, 11:31 PM CT
Mark Reynolds launched two home runs on Monday night on his way to three RBI for the Diamondbacks. With Conor Jackson settling in at first base Reynolds will need to keep on hitting to avoid giving away AB to Chad Tracy when he returns from his knee injury. Reynolds certainly has pop with 21 HR in 393 career AB, but he also has 137 K and just 40 BB, and numbers like that will likely lead to a lowish batting average moving forward.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 4/6, 10:22 PM CT
Mark Reynolds hit a two-run homer in the ninth and the Arizona Diamondbacks scored three runs in the 10th inning for a 5-2 win over Colorado. Reynolds, ignored in most mixed formats this March, has been solid in the first week of the season. He's hitting .304 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 4/1, 8:52 AM CT
Mark Reynolds had a tough day at the plate on Monday against Cincinnati, as he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, while leaving three men on base. Hopefully he can bounce back and play up to his high potential.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 3/11, 11:18 PM CT
Mark Reynolds served up a hot serving of baseball bat in the Diamondbacks' 7-8 loss to the Royals in Cactus League play today, going 2-for-3 with a double and a 2-run homer. Reynolds has been quiet in spring training this season and seems all set to fill the 3B job for Arizona this season. It would be nice if his bat would show more often coming down the stretch, but we'll see how he responds once these games count.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 8/23, 5:40 AM CT
Mark Reynolds was given a day off Wednesday, the AP reports. Reynolds could use the break to clear his head; he had a stretch of nine consecutive strikeouts from Sunday to Tuesday.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 5/31, 4:49 AM CT
Mark Reynolds was back in the starting lineup Wednesday, a night after suffering what manager Bob Melvin called a "serious stinger" from a collision with pitcher Brandon Medders, the AP reports. Melvin said there were no concerns about a concussion. Reynolds wound up going 2-for-4 in the game, with his fourth home run.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 5/29, 10:22 PM CT
The Diamondbacks lost Mark Reynolds to a neck contusion Tuesday night, according to the AP. Reynolds collided with pitcher Brandon Medders on Michael Bourn's bunt single leading off the seventh. Medders' knee appeared to hit the side of Reynolds' head as he leaped to avoid contact. Reynolds is listed as day-to-day.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 5/29, 10:33 AM CT
When Chad Tracy returns from the disabled list, manager Bob Melvin may shakeup his current lineup a bit in order to keep getting Mark Reynolds playing time, according to the Arizona Republic. In 46 at-bats this year, Reynolds is hitting .435 with three homers and 13 RBI. He's seen time at shortstop, first, second and third base, and the outfield during his time in the minors, so he could be used in a super utility-type role.
Mark Reynolds, 3B, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 5/26, 12:59 AM CT
Mark Reynolds went 5-for-5 with two home runs in Friday's romp over the Astros. Reynolds, recalled from Double-A earlier in the month, is batting .459 (17-for-37) with eight extra-base hits and 11 RBIs in his first 10 big league games. Reynolds hit cleanup Friday and Bob Melvin plans to keep him there for Saturday's game.
