Doug Slaten, P, Washington NationalsTuesday 2/16, 1:27 PM CT
Doug Slaten has been outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse, according to Bill Ladson of MLB.com.

Our View: The Nats needed to make room on their 40-man roster for Adam Kennedy. In 80.2 career innings, Slaten has a 3.68 ERA, so he's likely to get called up at some point in 2010.
Doug Slaten, P, Washington NationalsThursday 11/5, 5:14 PM CT
According to the Baltimore Sun, the Nationals have claimed left-hander Doug Slaten off waivers from the Diamondbacks.

Our View: Slaten is a 30-year-old middle reliever that spent almost all of last season in Triple-A Reno. He appeared in just 11 games with the D-backs and had a 7.11 ERA in 2009. Even though those numbers are less than impressive, he could represent an upgrade in a horrible Nationals bullpen.

Doug Slaten has been optioned to Triple-A Reno by the Diamondbacks, according to MLB.com. Leo Rosales was recalled from Reno as the adjoining move.

Our View: Slaten holds a 7.11 ERA this season as a lefty specialist, and the reliever won't be missed in fantasy leagues while working in the minors.

TSN is reporting that the Diamondbacks have recalled pitcher Doug Slaten from Triple-A Reno. Slaten had a 6.35 ERA before being sent down earlier this season.

Our View: Slaten struggled in his first stint with the team this season, and there is no reason to think this time around will be much better. Slaten should not be considered in any fantasy format unless he shows the ability to be a reliable relief pitcher.
Doug Slaten, P, Washington NationalsFriday 5/29, 5:21 PM CT
The Diamondbacks option reliever Doug Slaten to Triple-A Reno.

Our View: Slaten has been brutal this season and the D-Backs are better off with him in Reno. Fantasy owners won't notice as no one owns Slaten.

Doug Slaten has been recalled by the Diamondbacks from Triple-A Reno, according to TSN. Infielder Josh Whitesell was sent to Reno as the adjoining move.

Our View: The 29-year-old reliever holds a career 3.56 ERA, and is not expected to hold much value for fantasy leagues while providing depth in Arizona's pen.
Doug Slaten, P, Washington NationalsSunday 4/26, 3:11 PM CT
The Diamondbacks have optioned reliever Doug Slaten to Triple-A Reno.

Our View: Slaten allowed runs in each of his last two outings, and he has been beat up by left-handed hitters. Major league clubs can't afford to employ a lefty specialist who can't get out lefties.

Doug Slaten has been optioned to Triple-A Tucson, according to the Arizona Republic. He was demoted to make room for righty Billy Buckner on the roster.

Left-handed reliever Doug Slaten was activated from the 15-day disabled list, and Billy Buckner was sent down to make room on the roster, according to The Sports Network.

Our View: Slaten is a situational lefty who has no value as it pertains to fantasy baseball.
Doug Slaten, P, Washington NationalsMonday 8/11, 11:58 AM CT
Doug Slaten is expected to be activated from the DL Tuesday following his bout with a strained right knee, according to the East Valley Tribune.

Our View: The D-Backs' will be pleased to get the lefty back in their bullpen. He is not a favorable fantasy reliever however, as he holds a 4.55 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 27.2 innings, with only 15 strikeouts.

He said, "I know why I didn’t get good results, the first time out it was control. The second time, I made a few bad pitches."

Our View: He has been on the DL since July 18. He could return to the Diamondbacks' bullpen at some point next week, barring a setback.

Doug Slaten was able to throw off the top of a mound Friday for the first time since undergoing microfracture surgery on his knee, according to the Arizona Republic. "I don't think I've thrown well this spring," said Slaten. "I feel pretty good right now, healthwise. My fastball has life, and the location is good, but I'm just fine-tuning my off-speed pitches."
