Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesThursday 10/22, 12:30 PM CT
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Martin Prado will play second base for the Braves next season.

Our View: Prado unseated Kelly Johnson at second base in 2009 and his .822 OPS ranked fifth among all second baseman. He should possess multi-position eligibility next season, making him a possible top 10 option at the position.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesFriday 9/25, 8:49 PM CT
Martin Prado helped lead the Braves in tonight's 5-0 win at Washington, as he went 2-for-5 with a double and a solo homer off Saul Rivera.

Our View: Prado is riding an eight-game hitting streak, with two homers over the span. He is batting .301 in September.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesWednesday 9/23, 5:41 PM CT
Martin Prado has been removed from the Braves lineup on Wednesday after getting hit in the knee by a "liner" in batting practice, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman.

Our View: Kelly Johnson is starting in his place at second base.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 8/30, 10:49 PM CT
Martin Prado led the Braves offensively on Sunday with a 3-for-4 effort. He hit his ninth homer in the first inning, but the Phillies emerged with a 3-2 win.

Our View: Prado has put together a five-game hitting streak, since suffering through a cold patch mid month, and now has his average up to .308 on the season. He has eight hits during the streak.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesFriday 8/21, 5:56 PM CT
The Associated Press reports that Martin Prado is not in Friday's lineup against the Marlins.

Our View: Prado is expected to miss the entire series against the Fish after being diagnosed with exertional headaches. He will meet with a neurosurgeon on Monday in Atlanta.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesThursday 8/20, 10:22 AM CT
MLB.com reports that Martin Prado visited a neurosurgeon and has been diagnosed with "exertional headaches" and is being put on anti-inflammatory medication.

Our View: It looks as if Prado won't land on the disabled list, but he will not rejoin the team in New York. His best case scenario would be getting back in the lineup on Saturday. At least the Braves found out what was wrong with him and they're no longer calling it heat-related issues. Adam LaRoche will continue to man first base until Prado returns.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesWednesday 8/19, 7:04 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that Braves' infielder Martin Prado is still uncertain what has been causing his headaches. Prado hopes to get a diagnosis on Thursday.

Our View: Prado is not playing tonight, and he should know more about his condition tomorrow after meeting with doctors. This is a bit concerning, but we will keep you updated when his status is released.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesTuesday 8/18, 6:49 PM CT
Martin Prado was removed from Tuesday's game against the Mets after his first at-bat.

Our View: Prado looks to still be suffering from heat-related issues that have been plaguing him since Saturday. He was replaced at first base by Adam LaRoche.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 8/16, 10:56 PM CT
Martin Prado entered Sunday's game as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning and drew a walk.

Our View: Prado was scratched from the game with heat-related issues, but must be feeling better at least to some extent. He did not remain in the game as a defender after the pinch hit.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 8/16, 5:45 PM CT
According to Mark Bowman on Twitter, Martin Prado was scratched from Sunday's game due to heat-related issues.

Our View: The Braves are playing it safe with Prado, who left Saturday's game with dizziness. He likely just needs a couple days off. Omar Infante gets the start in his place.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 8/9, 8:14 PM CT
Martin Prado performed well in Sunday's 8-2 win at Los Angeles, as he went 2-for-5 with two singles and three RBI.

Our View: Prado is hitting .317 over 41 at-bats this month, with five multi-hit games.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesWednesday 8/5, 12:05 AM CT
Martin Prado was the offensive leader for the Braves on Tuesday night as Atlanta defeated the Padres 9-2. Prado went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI in the win.

Our View: Prado continues to hit everything in sight, and he is turning into a very good fantasy second baseman. If he is still available in your league, it would be wise to jump on him now before someone else does.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 8/2, 11:33 PM CT
Martin Prado provided all the Braves offense on Sunday as he went 2-for-4 with an RBI in their 9-1 loss to the Dodgers

Our View: Prado started August the same way he finished June and July. On a tear. Since being named the starter at second he's been a pleasant fantasy surprise at a thin position. He hit .359 in June, .327 in July and is currently at .375 in August.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSaturday 8/1, 2:16 PM CT
Martin Prado (ankle) is back in the lineup and batting second on Saturday.

Our View: The second baseman missed two starts, but he has now pushed Kelly Johnson back to the bench. Feel free to use Prado in fantasy leagues.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSaturday 8/1, 9:31 AM CT
Infielder Martin Prado (ankle) remained out on Friday, but he took batting practice and was available to pinch-hit, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. He could be back on Saturday.

Our View: With a lefty (Randy Wolf) on the hill for the Dodgers, the Braves would love to have Prado back at second on Saturday. We won't be surprised if he starts, even though he will be less than 100 percent.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesThursday 7/30, 8:24 PM CT
Martin Prado was out of the Braves' lineup on Thusday after being hit with a line drive during batting practice, according to MLB.com. Prado is listed as day-to-day with a bruised left ankle.

Martin Prado went 3-for-5 on Tuesday night, raising his average to .324, as the Braves crushed the Giants 8-1 at home.

Our View: Prado has been on absolute tear since mid-June, and should be considered in any format if you need a third baseman.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 7/12, 8:14 PM CT
Martin Prado continued his hot hitting on Sunday with a 2-for-4 performance in the Braves' 8-7 loss to the Rockies. He also walked, scored a run and drove in a run.

Our View: Prado is not a power threat (four homers), but he is hitting .330 on the season and has been raking in July at a .412 clip. He's earned the starting job at second base as a result of his hot hitting since June.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesWednesday 7/1, 8:56 PM CT
Martin Prado stayed hot on Wednesday, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs as the Braves dispatched the Phillies with extreme prejudice, 11-1.

Our View: Braves manager Bobby Cox recently said Prado will be the team's starting second baseman for the foreseeable future, and he has earned it, raising his batting average 61 points since June 1.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesTuesday 6/30, 9:39 PM CT
Martin Prado went 4-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored in tonight's 5-4 win over the Phillies at Turner Field. He hit two singles, a double and a solo homer off Joe Blanton.

Our View: Prado raised his season batting average to .299. He needed a solid outing as he was hitless over his previous two games.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 4/19, 10:37 PM CT
Martin Prado was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, and three runs scored in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Pirates. He started at second base in place of Kelly Johnson who served as a pinch-hitter later in the game.

Our View: Prado has swung a good bat to start the season and Bbby Cox may continue to squeeze him into the lineup more often. However, without an everyday job, he is not worth fantasy consideration.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 3/22, 12:25 PM CT
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Braves are looking to expend some of their pitching surplus, but the team could also deal backup second baseman Martin Prado.

Our View: Prado is currently the backup to Kelly Johnson, but the Braves could package him with a pitcher or two to acquire a third baseman to succeed Chipper Jones.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 9/21, 4:50 PM CT
Martin Prado started at third base with Chipper Jones on the bench and he went 3-for-4 with three RBI for the club.

Our View: Prado has just 202 AB this season but that hasn't stopped him from filling in all over the infield while batting .327. In a reserve role the past three years, Prado has hit .310 and certainly deserves a look in the middle rounds next season in NL-only leagues if he can find a daily spot in the lineup.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSaturday 8/23, 7:29 PM CT
Martin Prado had a nice day for the Braves Saturday, picking up three hits while driving in two runs and scoring two.

Our View: Prado has been hitting well of late. He started at first today and is likely eligible at multiple positions in your league.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesFriday 8/8, 11:52 PM CT
Martin Prado, making a rare start on Friday night, had three hits and three RBI for the Braves.

Our View: Prado is batting .310 in limited action this season (84 AB), and has seven hits in his last 11 AB (.636).
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesFriday 7/4, 2:37 PM CT
Martin Prado was activated from the disabled list, and went 0-for-3 yesterday against the Phillies, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: In three at-bats, Prado's average dropped 20 points. He is not a viable option for fantasy teams right now, but he has good plate discipline and the offensive potential is there, so keep your eye on him.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesWednesday 6/25, 3:20 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Martin Prado will play six games at Triple-A beginning on Thursday, and then likely be called back up to the Braves. He has been on the disabled list since May 5 with a badly sprained left thumb. "That kid has really worked his tail off to get back," Cox said of Prado, who hit .282 in 18 games before being injured.

Our View: The Braves can't get him up fast enough. With Yunel Escobar, Omar Infante and Chipper Jones all on the mend, they are becoming desperate for another infielder.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesMonday 6/23, 9:02 PM CT
Martin Prado could also begin a rehab assignment this weekend, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Prado has missed six weeks while recovering from a partially tore a left thumb ligament.

Our View: Prado could be ready around the All-Star break, but he'll probably stay at Triple-A.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesMonday 5/5, 1:46 PM CT
Martin Prado has been placed on the 15-day DL due to his sprained left thumb, according to the AP.

Our View: The Braves noted that Prado is expected to be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks but will not require surgery. The team acquired veteran Greg Norton from the Mariners to add depth (and an extra bat as a pinch-hitter) to their infield. Prado held little fantasy value as a reserve, but played well when called into action as he went 11-for-39 (.282) with six RBI.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSunday 5/4, 4:31 PM CT
Martin Prado sprained his left thumb in Sunday's win over the Reds. X-rays were negative, the AP reports. Prado was starting in place of shortstop Yunel Escobar.

Our View: Prado doesn't help much in fantasy leagues, but he's been a very active utility infielder for the Braves thus far. Bobby Cox would miss him if he has to sit for any significant amount of time.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSaturday 4/26, 3:58 PM CT
Martin Prado started in place of the injured Chipper Jones (back) at third base on Saturday, and held his own, as he went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 4-3 loss to the Mets.

Our View: Prado is establishing himself as a solid utility man for Atlanta, as he previously started in place of the injured Kelly Johnson. His fantasy value remains limited, however.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSaturday 4/26, 1:43 PM CT
Martin Prado is starting at third base in place of the injured Chipper Jones today, according to MetsBlog. Jones aggravated his back ailment this morning, and Prado is batting seventh in the order.

Our View: Prado has been productive over 29 at-bats, as he collected four RBI, eight runs, and one stolen base. Prado is establishing himself as a solid utility man for Atlanta, as he previously started in place of the injured Kelly Johnson. His fantasy value remains limited, however.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesWednesday 4/2, 9:37 PM CT
Martin Prado, starting in place of an injured Kelly Johnson, went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI on Wednesday. Though Johnson appears to be close to returning from his injured knee, Braves manager Bobby Cox has a long memory and outings like this will certainly lead to Prado picking up at-bats even when Johnson is back in the lineup.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesTuesday 8/7, 11:28 PM CT
The Braves recalled Martin Prado from Triple-A Richmond on Tuesday. He was hitting .320 in 93 games in the minors, and he'll be used as a reserve infielder.
Martin Prado, 3B, Atlanta BravesSaturday 3/31, 6:20 AM CT
Martin Prado will begin the season at Triple-A Richmond, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He hit .362 this spring, but the Braves want to see him play every day in the minors for now.
