Kory Casto, 3B, Washington NationalsTuesday 3/24, 2:53 PM CT
Kory Casto went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Orioles in the Grapefruit League.

Our View: Casto is only hitting .206 in spring action, and would not merit fantasy attention if he manages to make the Nationals as a reserve infielder.

Kory Casto is among the players who will come up when the Nationals expand their roster on Monday, the Washington Post notes. Shortstop Alberto Gonzalez, outfielder Roger Bernadina, and pitchers Mike Hinkley, Shairon Martis, and Levale Speigner will also move up.

Our View: The Nationals have one of the least exciting call-up lists in the league. There's no fantasy value here, and we can only hope that the 21-year-old Martis gets a chance to start a couple games late in the year.

The Nationals will call up Kory Casto from Triple-A Columbus when they place Ryan Zimmerman on the DL, the Washington Post reports. Casto, 26, is hitting .315 with three homers and 16 RBI over 22 games.

Our View: Casto can play a little third base, but that spot will likely belong to Aaron Boone in the near future. Ronnie Belliard also has hot corner skills but is on the DL. Anyway, we don't expect much out of Casto.

Kory Casto (Triple-A Columbus) is expected to be out six weeks with a broken right wrist bone. The Nationals minor league OF was injured in Wednesday night's game. Casto spent some time with the parent club last year hitting .130 in 54 at bats.

Kory Casto was optioned to Triple-A Tuesday, the AP reports. Casto batted .140 in 54 at-bats with the big league club. "I just want him to play every day," manager Manny Acta said.
Kory Casto, 3B, Washington NationalsMonday 4/30, 8:27 PM CT
As expected, the Nationals recalled Kory Casto from Triple-A on Monday, according to the AP. Casto was given an opportunity to start in left field for the Nats earlier in the year, but he batted just .172 in 29 at-bats. He hit well after being sent to the minors, batting .324 with four homers in just six games, and he'll see time in left field with Washington, along with Chris Snelling and Mike Restovich.

The Nationals plan to recall Kory Casto from Triple-A Columbus in time for Monday night's game at San Diego, the AP reports. The team hasn't said yet how it will make room for Casto on the 25-man roster.
Kory Casto, 3B, Washington NationalsFriday 4/6, 1:46 PM CT
Kory Casto went 0-for-5 in Thursday's loss to Arizona, dropping him to 2-for-14 so far this year. He's also struck out five times, with three of them coming Thursday.
Kory Casto, 3B, Washington NationalsSaturday 3/31, 8:32 AM CT
The Nats sent Kory Casto down to Triple-A Columbus on Friday, according to the Washington Post. With Nook Logan ready to play through his injury, the Nats decided to let Casto play every day in the minors for now. He'll be the first outfielder recalled when the Nats need one, though.
Kory Casto, 3B, Washington NationalsMonday 3/26, 11:00 AM CT
Kory Casto will likely be the Nationals' starting left fielder opening day, with Ryan Church shifting to center to replace the injured Nook Logan, according to the Washington Post. "I think we're leaning more to trying to find out what Casto can do here because of his age and what he represents for our organization," manager Manny Acta said. "If Casto is going to be here, he's going to play." Casto could also see some time as a backup at first and third base, as well.
Kory Casto, 3B, Washington NationalsSunday 3/25, 3:27 PM CT
With Nook Logan out with a groin injury, Kory Casto is expected to make the Nationals out of spring training, according to the AP. "We're leaning more toward finding out what Casto can really do up here," manager Manny Acta said. Casto could get some time in the outfield, as well as first base.
Kory Casto, 3B, Washington NationalsTuesday 3/20, 10:15 AM CT
Kory Casto is almost certainly going to start the season in Triple-A because fellow outfielders Ryan Church and Chris Snelling are out of options, according to the Washington Post. Casto is hitting .381 this spring.
Kory Casto, 3B, Washington NationalsThursday 11/16, 4:01 PM CT
Kory Casto will be given a chance to win the left field job for the Nationals next spring, provided the club cannot re-sign Alfonso Soriano or another veteran. Casto hit .272 with 20 homers and a .379 OBP for Double-A Harrisburg last season.
