Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 10/3, 6:10 PM CT
Dana Eveland was touched for four runs on eight hits over 4.2 innings on Saturday in a 4-2 loss to the Angels.

Our View: Eveland has been miserable this season, whether he's starting or pitching out of the pen. In total he's complied a 2-4 record and 7.16 ERA.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 9/20, 6:31 PM CT
Dana Eveland picked up a win in his spot-start on Sunday against the Indians as the A's pounded the Tribe 11-4. Eveland went five innings and allowed one run on five hits while walking two and striking out two.

Our View: Eveland pitched very well today in place of the injured Brett Tomko. He has struggled mightily this season, but he showed today that he does have the stuff to pitch at this level.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 9/18, 8:37 AM CT
MLB.com is reporting that the A's will start pitcher Dana Eveland in place of the injured Brett Tomko on Sunday against Cleveland. Tomko is dealing with a nerve issue in his right arm.

Our View: Eveland has a 7.26 ERA with the A's this season, and he has only managed to win one game in his 31 innings pitched. He will likely get a few starts, but there is no reason to gamble on him for this season.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 9/1, 7:20 PM CT
Dana Eveland has been recalled by the Athletics from Triple-A Sacramento, according to TSN.

Our View: Eveland has a 8.00 ERA and 2.44 WHIP over 27 innings (six starts) with Oakland this season. He could get some spot-starts down the stretch, but is only worth a look for deeper fantasy leagues.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 7/10, 3:01 PM CT
Dana Eveland cleared optional waivers on Friday, and has been assigned to Triple-A Sacramento.

Our View: Eveland went 9-9 in 29 starts for the A's in 2008, but has been dreadful this season, posting an 8.00 ERA in 27 innings. He's a long ways away from being a meaningful fantasy player again.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 7/7, 11:31 PM CT
Dana Eveland has been designated for assignment by the A's after giving up four earned runs over 2.2 innings in tonight's loss at Boston, according to the Sports Network.

Our View: The A's designated him with the intention of securing option waivers. He remains on the 40-man roster, and will be optioned to Triple-A Sacramento if he clears waivers. Eveland was making a spot-start in place of Dallas Braden, who is on bereavement leave.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 7/7, 10:06 PM CT
Dana Eveland was roughed up for four earned runs on six hits over a mere 2.2 innings in Tuesday's 5-2 loss at Boston. He had three walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Eveland coninues to struggle as his ERA climbs to 8.00. He is not fit for fantasy duty.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsMonday 7/6, 3:24 PM CT
The Sports Network is reporting that the Oakland A's have recalled pitcher Dana Eveland from Triple-A Sacramento. He will take the roster spot of Dallas Braden, who was placed on the bereavement list.

Our View: Braden was supposed to start on Tuesday, so it is possible that Eveland may get the ball instead. Eveland struggled in his first stint with the team this season, and he should not be considered for fantasy duty as he will most likely only be around for a week or so.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsThursday 5/14, 12:04 AM CT
Dana Eveland picked up the win for Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday despite a mediocre outing. He allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits in six innings. He also walked four batters and struck out two.

Our View: Eveland will need to do much more in order to regain his spot in Oakland's rotation. With his velocity still down, don't expect Eveland to help anytime soon.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 5/5, 8:15 PM CT
According to SFGate.com, the A's demoted struggling starter Dana Eveland to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Our View: Eveland was 1-2 with a 7.40 ERA and allowed 16 walks and 41 hits in just 24.1 innings this season, so it's no surprise he didn't last long. He was replaced on the roster by Rule 5 outfielder Ben Copeland.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 5/5, 10:03 AM CT
Dana Eveland is still the listed starter for Wednesday despite the fact that he had to throw 13 pitches in the 15th inning of Sunday's game, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Eveland will have to pick it up if he wants to stay in the rotation, as the A's have plenty of starting depth at Triple-A.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 4/26, 7:46 PM CT
Dana Eveland allowed just one run on four hits and three walks over five innings on Sunday and earned his first win of the season. He struck out three as the A's cruised to a 7-1 win over the Rays.

Our View: Eveland got the win, but he was far from dominant. He still allowed seven hitters to reach base and needed 91 pitches to get through five. He is averaging just under five innings per start this season and is not a strong fantasy option.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 4/15, 12:58 AM CT
Dana Eveland didn't last long in his start against Boston on Tuesday. He allowed eight hits and three walks and surrendered five earned runs in just 4.2 innings.

Our View: Eveland has allowed a scary amount of runners to reach base this season. In just 10.2 innings he has surrendered 21 batters to reach base. Not apromising start to the season.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 4/8, 7:27 AM CT
Dana Eveland is set to make his first start of the season tonight at the Angels, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Eveland failed to impress in spring training, and is 0-2 with a 6.06 ERA over three career starts against the Angels. He is an unstable fantasy option for tonight.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 4/4, 1:03 AM CT
Dana Eveland pitched well for the first time in four starts Friday in San Francisco. He lasted six innings and allowed one run on three hits. "It was nice to get out of Arizona and back here where the ball does what it's supposed to do," Eveland said. "It was nice to see the ball move again and get a lot of groundballs. To have three pitches working for me was nice."

Our View: In his previous four starts, in the warm air of Arizona, Eveland allowed 14 runs and 23 hits over a span of 17 and one-third innings.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 3/28, 5:25 PM CT
The spring has not gone wonderfully for A's pitcher Dana Eveland, and he was just okay on Saturday in the team's 4-2 loss to the Brewers. Eveland went 7.0 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out four.

Our View: Eveland is a popular pick in fantasy circles to break out, but he's now 0-4 this spring with a 5.04 ERA, which is not inspiring much confidence in Oakland or with fantasy owners.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsMonday 3/23, 7:31 PM CT
Dana Eveland had an outing to remember against the Cubs on Monday. In just four innings, he allowed five runs on eight hits and a pair of walks as Oakland surrendered 24 hits in a 20-5 defeat.

Our View: Eveland has struggled mightily this spring and is now 0-3 in exhibition play. If he continues to put up inflated numbers, it may not be long before manager Bob Geren gives him the hook.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 3/13, 7:25 PM CT
Dana Eveland struck out four Indians Friday, but he also allowed two runs on four hits in three and one-third innings.

Our View: Eveland did a good job of keeping the ball in the ballpark last season, allowing just 10 home runs in 168 innings pitched, and could be a solid option to start in AL-only leagues.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 3/4, 6:29 PM CT
Dana Eveland threw two shutout innings in the A's 7-2 win over the White Sox on Wednesday. He gave up no hits, struck out one, and walked two in the start.

Our View: Through two starts, Eveland has looked good and the 25-year-old is a nice sleeper option. He started and finished 2008 well, but struggled in the middle. If he can cut down on his walks, he should be in line for a fine season.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 2/28, 7:46 AM CT
Dana Eveland fared well in his spring training debut Friday, as he needed only 13 pitches to retire all six batters over two innings of work against Milwaukee, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: His high number of walks last season could have been due to poor vision, and he is now wearing contacts and considering laser eye surgery after the season. He also admitted that he had trouble seeing the catcher's signs. The former top pick, who is slated to hold the No. 2 spot in the rotation, will begin creeping up draft boards if he continues to pitch well in the preseason.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 2/27, 7:52 AM CT
Dana Eveland will start today's exhibition game against the Brewers, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: The former top pick is only 25 and has upside, and could move up draft boards with a strong spring, starting today.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 9/24, 5:15 PM CT
Dana Eveland allowed seven runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings of work against Texas on Wednesday.

Our View: This was Eveland's worst start in a while. He used an otherwise good September to salvage a disastrous second half. He still seems a lock to be in the 2009 Oakland rotation.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsThursday 9/4, 8:17 PM CT
Dana Eveland allowed four runs and 10 hits in six innings of work against the Royals on Thursday. He stuck out five and didn't walk a batter.

Our View: Eveland entered this outing having allowed two runs in 14 innings over his last two starts and looked great again tonight except for the fifth inning when he gave up three runs. He remains a solid but underwhelming option for the month of September.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsThursday 8/28, 11:44 PM CT
Dana Eveland continued his strong work since rejoining the Athletics as he allowed two runs over seven innings against the Twins.

Our View: That's three earned runs over 14 innings (1.93 ERA) for Dana who has turned around his efforts on the hill after spending about three weeks in the minors. Even so, his ratios are merely average (4.21 ERA, 1.46 WHIP), so he remains best used in favorable matchups.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 8/24, 12:18 AM CT
Dana Eveland silenced the Mariners' bat Saturday, allowing just one run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over seven innings. It was Eveland's first start since getting recalled from Triple-A.

Our View: Maybe a stint at Triple-A is what Eveland needed. Of course, the M's lineup doesn't exactly resemble Murderer's Row.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 8/20, 1:26 PM CT
Dana Eveland is a top candidate for a spot start in place of one of the ailing pitchers (Sean Gallagher and Justin Duchscherer), according to the SF Chronicle. Kirk Saarloos is also likely to cover the other spot start, but Dan Meyer will also be considered.

Our View: Eveland has been pitching well in Triple-A and fared well at times with Oakland this season, and is worth a look in AL-only leagues if he is handed a spot start.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 8/3, 12:46 PM CT
As anticipated, Oakland LHP Dana Eveland has been sent back to Triple-A Sacramento following a horrific experience against Boston yesterday, suffering the 12-2 loss after just two innings of work, according the the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Oakland has recalled LHP Dan Meyer to fill the spot on the roster. It was believed that Meyer might start today as Dallas Braden is suffering from a throat infection, but Braden says he is good to go and will be on the hill (though we could see Meyer if Braden is pulled early).
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 8/2, 9:27 PM CT
Dana Eveland was yanked after two innings in Saturday's disheartening 12-2 loss to Boston, as he was lit up for nine earned runs on eight hits, with two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: He falls to 7-8 and his ERA climbs to 4.46. He is winless in his last four starts, and has only pitched 17 innings over the span.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 7/12, 11:18 PM CT
Oakland couldn't turn late hits into runs and suffered the 4-1 loss to the Angels as a result, leaving LHP Dana Eveland with the short end of the stick and his sixth loss of the season. Eveland pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs (both earned) on five hits with five walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: Eveland now sits at 7-6 on the season with a 3.49 ERA. He was riding consecutive wins coming out of June but has lost two of his last three starts, though he has not allowed more than three runs in any of those games.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 7/8, 12:01 AM CT
Dana Eveland didn't deserve to win on Monday night against the Mariners, but his teammates found way to scratch out enough runs and the bullpen bailed out the struggling left-hander to help him earn his seventh win of the season.

Our View: Eveland allowed three runs on nine hits, walked four and didn't strike out a batter in the win.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 7/2, 6:11 PM CT
Dana Eveland allowed three earned runs on four hits over 5.2 innings in Wednesday's 7-4 loss to the Angels, with one walk and four strikeouts.

Our View: Eveland is 2-0 over his last four starts, and allowed two or fewer earned runs in three of those outings.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 6/28, 12:00 AM CT
Dana Eveland was in control in Friday's 4-1 win over the Giants, as he only allowed one earned run on five hits over 7.1 innings, with two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: He improves to 6-5 and trimmed his ERA to 3.34. He has now allowed two or less earned runs in four straight starts, and is 2-1 over that stretch.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 6/15, 7:05 PM CT
Dana Eveland only allowed one earned run on six hits over 6.2 innings of work in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Giants, with three walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: The lefty hurler evened his record to 5-5, and lowered his ERA to 3.56. He has now allowed three or less earned runs in seven of his last eight outings.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 6/11, 12:14 AM CT
Dana Eveland walked six Yankees on Tuesday night, but he somehow held the AL East club to two runs over six innings. The southpaw walked seven batters in his previous start on June 3. Eveland took the loss and dropped to 4-5.

Our View: It's never a good sign when a young hurler suddenly starts allowing so many free passes. We hope this is a temporary glitch, and we're sure the A's will have more to say about Eveland's control issues in the coming days.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 6/3, 11:12 PM CT
Dana Eveland has displayed pretty good control this year, but that was not the case Tuesday night as the lefty walked seven in 4 1/3 innings. He also allowed three runs and three hits with three Ks.

Our View: Eveland has followed up his first ever complete game with a couple of stinkers. He's probably better served as a spot starter for your fantasy team right now.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsThursday 5/29, 10:22 PM CT
Dana Eveland had his worst outing of the season on Thursday as he allowed seven runs in 4.1 innings against the Blue Jays. Eveland allowed 11 hits and two walks in the outing.

Our View: Eveland saw his ERA climb to 3.66 from 2.90, and while his owners will certainly be disappointed in this effort, you really have no room to complain when looking at the overall body of work considering he threw only five innings in the majors last season.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsThursday 5/29, 12:44 PM CT
Dana Eveland will face the Athletics at home in Toronto today, according to MLB.com. Eveland holds a solid 4-3 record with a 2.90 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over 10 starts this season.

Our View: Eveland shut out the Blue Jays for 6.1 innings in Toronto back on April 10, and he only allowed one run on three hits over nine innings against Tampa Bay in his last start. He should be in your starting lineups for today.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 5/25, 10:06 AM CT
Manager Bob Geren said he is thinking about splitting up lefties Greg Smith and Dana Eveland in the rotation this week, according to the SF Chronicle. Rich Harden would be remaining on regular rest to pitch Tuesday against Toronto.

Our View: That would also mean an extra two days of rest for Eveland. Eveland has been a pleasant surprise for the Athletics, as well as the fantasy community this season, as he holds a 2.90 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over 10 starts (62 innings), with 44 strikeouts and one complete game.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 5/21, 5:22 PM CT
Dana Eveland continues to befuddle American League batters. The left-hander tossed his first career complete game Wednesday limiting the Rays to one run on three hits and a walk while striking out five. He needed just 95 pitches to get through the nine frames.

Our View: Eveland's ERA now sits at an impressive 2.90. He's sure to go through his fair share of rough patches, but he's been one of the biggest fantasy pitching surprises so far this year.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 5/17, 7:04 PM CT
Dana Eveland fell a third of an inning short of recording a quality start on Friday night. The left-hander allowed two runs on six hits in 5.2 innings.

Our View: The A's starter gave up both runs in the six inning and four of his six hits.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 5/16, 9:50 PM CT
Dana Eveland pitched well but ended Friday night with a no decision as Oakland was topped by Atlanta 3-2. Eveland allowed two runs on six hits over 5.2 innings, with three walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Eveland has only allowed five earned runs over his last three starts (18.2 innings). He only allowed four or more runs in two of his nine starts, and held a solid 1.25 WHIP heading into tonight's outing.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 5/11, 12:12 AM CT
Oakland LHP Dana Eveland pitched well this evening but suffered his third loss of the year, falling to the Texas Rangers 6-4. Eveland pitched six innings, allowing three runs (all earned) on six hits, walking two and striking out five.

Our View: Eveland has pitched rather well, though he has now suffered two losses and a no-decision over his last three starts. He has experienced just one major slip (six earned runs allowed versus the Angels on April 30th) and continues to showcase strong control of the strike zone.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 5/2, 8:41 AM CT
Dana Eveland felt a little twinge in his left elbow in Wednesday's start. The southpaw said the elbow was tender Thursday, but that he thinks he'll be fine, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Maybe now we know was Eveland had his worst start of the year. It's good that he thinks he'll be OK, but this is definitely something to keep your eye on.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 4/30, 11:46 PM CT
Dana Eveland suffered his worst outing of the season as he allowed six runs over 5.1 inning to the Angels to fall to 3-2 on the year.

Our View: Eveland just didn't have it tonight, though he was a bit unlucky that six of the nine runners he put on base scored. Still, he owns a 3.67 ERA after five starts which isn't bad for a guy who's career ERA is just above six.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 4/25, 1:53 PM CT
Dana Eveland will be shooting for his third win when he takes the hill against Seattle tonight, according to MLB.com. The young lefty is 2-1 with a 1.90 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP over 23.2 innings, with 18 strikeouts.

Our View: He will duel with righty Miguel Batista, who is 2-2 with a 4.38 ERA. Eveland was one of the key players involved in the Dan Haren trade to Arizona, and Eveland has lived up to high expectations in the early going. He is also notably yet to face more than four batters in an inning.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 4/15, 3:43 PM CT
Dana Eveland was dealt his first loss today as he surrendered four runs (three earned) on five hits over 4.2 innings, as Oakland ultimately fell to Chicago 4-1. He had three walks and two strikeouts, and most of the damage came on a three-run homer by Carlos Quentin.

Our View: He was strong in his first start, and should bounce back fine. You could use his unfavorable performance to your advantage by trying to acquire him for cheap.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsThursday 4/10, 1:44 PM CT
Dana Eveland looks to followup his impressive first win as he takes the hill today against Toronto, according to MLB.com. In his first start, he only allowed one run on six hits over seven innings, with seven strikeouts and one walk. His fantasy stock will continue to rise if he has another strong outing today.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSaturday 4/5, 6:56 PM CT
Dana Eveland looked fantastic in his first start for Oakland as he helped to defeat the Indians 6-1 on Saturday. Eveland lasted seven innings and allowed only one run while striking out seven. Eveland certainly appears locked in to the starting rotation for the A's, especially considering the recent injury to Justin Duchscherer, and he appears well on his way to being a useful AL Only starter this season.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 3/30, 5:32 PM CT
Dana Eveland has ended spring training at 3-0 as he gunned the Giants in a 7-2 win on Sunday. He allowed two runs on three hits over six innings of work, with one walk and three strikeouts. He also ended with a 1.29 spring ERA and is seemingly primed for a solid campaign.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 3/18, 3:40 PM CT
Dana Eveland, who after throwing five scoreless innings on Monday, looks like a lock for the fifth slot in the rotation. The A's team website announced on Tuesday that the right-hander will start in the first exhibition game in Japan. The rookie is 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA this spring.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsMonday 3/17, 5:49 PM CT
Dana Eveland threw five scoreless innings with a mere three hits allowed against the Royals on Monday, and improved his bid for the fifth spot in the Athletics' rotation. He improved to 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA this spring.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 3/16, 11:16 PM CT
Dana Eveland , the rising hopeful shooting for the A's fifth spot in the starting rotation, is slated to start for the Athletics on Monday against the Royals, according to MLB.com. Eveland has been a bright spot for the A's this spring, touting a 1.80 ERA over 10 innings. One more strong start tomorrow may solidify his spot on the major league roster on opening day.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 3/12, 6:21 PM CT
Dana Eveland had a terrific outing Wednesday, tossing five scoreless innings while punching out seven. He's allowed two runs in 10 spring innings to go along with 10 strikeouts. The left-hander is looking like the front-runner for the fifth spot in the A's rotation. His minor league numbers have been superb, but Eveland has struggled so far in his big league chances.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 2/27, 11:35 AM CT
Dana Eveland struck out the side in his one inning during Tuesday's intrasquad game, and the Mercury News reports that he's believed to be the front-runner for the No. 5 spot in the rotation. The lefty, who came over from Arizona in the Dan Haren deal, is scheduled for his first Cactus League appearance Sunday. Eveland has posted outstanding numbers in his minor league career but has floundered in his big league opportunities to this point.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 2/20, 9:01 AM CT
A's manager Bob Geren got a chance to see Dana Eveland, Greg Smith and Gio Gonzalez pitch on Tuesday, according to the Contra Costa Times. "Smith's control was impressive," Geren said. "Eveland showed a good breaking ball. He showed some good run on his fastball." All three were acquired in trades during the offseason. Eveland and Smith are in the mix to compete with Lenny DiNardo, Dallas Braden and Dan Meyer for a spot at the back of the rotation this spring. Gonzalez likely will begin the season in the minors.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsThursday 8/30, 4:53 AM CT
Dana Eveland will be recalled in time to start Saturday's game against Colorado, the AP reports. Eveland has been oddly effective in five Triple-A starts (a 1.99 ERA despite a 1.43 ratio), after missing over a month with a finger injury.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 4/20, 9:25 PM CT
Dana Eveland was called up by the Diamondbacks on Friday and may start Sunday if Micah Owings can't go.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsFriday 4/20, 8:16 AM CT
Dana Eveland could get a spot start Sunday if Micah Owings isn't ready to go, the Arizona Republic reports. Eveland has allowed just one run in 11 innings for Tucson.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsSunday 3/11, 7:00 AM CT
Dana Eveland had another good outing yesterday, as he tries to claim a spot at the back of the Diamondbacks rotation, according to the Arizona Republic. He allowed a run on four hits over three innings. "It's not really about competition, it's about getting my work there," Eveland said. "I'm not out there trying to overthrow the ball and trying to do something I'm not capable of doing to try and make the club." If he doesn't win a starting role, he'll move into a long-relief role.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsWednesday 2/28, 8:49 AM CT
Manager Bob Melvin would like to have two left-handers in the bullpen, with Doug Slaten as the situational lefty and Dana Eveland, who's been a starter throughout his minor league career, the most likely candidate to fill the role of long reliever, according to the Arizona Republic. "I know Eveland has been a starter for the most part... but to get to the big leagues, you pitch anywhere," Melvin said. "We feel like (Doug) Slaten will be the situational lefty. If we have a second lefty it would be more of a long lefty." Melvin also mentioned Evan MacLane as possible candidate for long relief.
Dana Eveland, P, Oakland AthleticsTuesday 7/25, 11:34 AM CT
To make room for Ben Sheets on the roster, the Brewers optioned Dana Eveland to Triple-A Nashville after Monday's game, according to the official team website. Eveland was 0-3 with an 8.13 ERA in 27 2/3 IP (nine appearances, five starts) for Milwaukee this season.
