Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 10/5, 9:26 AM CT
Ryan Braun was the surprise National League hits leader in 2009, rapping 203 in 158 games.

Our View: Braun had another huge campaign in 2009, batting .320 with 32 home runs, 113 RBI, 113 runs scored and 20 stolen bases. He is arguably the top fantasy outfielder in the game at this point.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 10/4, 6:37 PM CT

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 10/4, 11:58 AM CT
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting that the Brewers will bring back manager Ken Macha for next season with and option for 2011.

Our View: Many people thought Macha might have been in trouble after the Brewers' disappointing season, but the front office believes he is the right manager for this team. If the Brewers struggle again next season, don't expect the option to be picked up.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 10/3, 3:40 PM CT

Our View: The star outfielder has a hit in seven straight games, with 14 total hits over the span. He also racked up 111 RBI for 2009.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 10/1, 5:24 PM CT
Ryan Braun hit his 31st home run of the season on Thursday, but that would be the only highlight for Milwaukee, as they lost 9-2 in Colorado.

Our View: Braun's 108 RBI are now a career best for the young slugging outfielder. He promises to only get better in 2010.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 9/29, 11:36 PM CT
Ryan Braun doubled twice in five at-bats on Tuesday in a 7-5, 11-inning loss to the Rockies.

Our View: Braun is hitting over .350 in September and has three multi-hit contests in a row. However, he's only homered twice this month.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 9/27, 5:37 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in the Brewers 6-5 loss to the Phillies on Sunday.

Our View: The power numbers are down a bit for Braun this season (just 30 homers), but he's hitting .316 on the year and has driven in a career high 107 runs. He's also set a new career mark in steals with 17.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 9/26, 10:48 PM CT
Ryan Braun hit a game-winning, walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Brewers a 7-5 win over the Phillies. He went 3-for-5 with three RBI in the game.

Our View: Braun has experienced a bit of a power outage lately, so it's nice to see him connect for a meaningful home run. He's hit just two long balls this month, after hitting seven in August.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 9/15, 4:12 PM CT
According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Ryan Braun is back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Our View: The Brewers say Braun is totally healthy, but he's missed three of the last eight games for "routine days off". Rumors of a shoulder injury have swelled, but the team says he's fine. At least he back in for tonight's game. Adjust your lineups.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 9/14, 5:33 PM CT
Ryan Braun is out of the Brewers' lineup for tonight's game at Chicago, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: The source believes that he is being held out due to his ailing shoulder that forced him to miss time in the Brewers' last homestand. So he won't be in action at hitter-friendly Wrigley Field tonight.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 9/11, 11:43 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 6-3 win at Arizona. He hit a double and a two-run homer off Doug Davis.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 9/7, 1:06 PM CT
Updating a previous report, Brewers' outfielder Ryan Braun is out of Monday's lineup with a sore shoulder. He is expected to be fine for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Our View: So Braun is injured, but it isn't anything serious. This probably amounts to just a routine day off, and Braun owners shouldn't be worried about him missing more time than today's game.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 9/7, 11:09 AM CT
Ryan Braun is not in the Brewers' lineup for their Labor Day match-up with the Cardinals on Monday. Frank Catalanotto will man left field in Braun's absence.

Our View: This looks like a routine day-off for Braun, as we haven't heard anything about an injury. Braun is having yet another phenomenal season, and he looks to be a fantasy force for years to come.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 8/24, 7:02 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer off Collin Balester in Monday's 7-1 win at Washington.

Our View: Braun crushed his sixth homer of August, and his 27th of the season. The 25-year-old outfielder is two homers away from the 100th of his career.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 8/19, 9:48 PM CT
Ryan Braun drove in the only run for the Brewers on Wednesday as they fell to the Pirates 3-1. Braun went 1-for-3 in the game with an RBI single.

Our View: The Brewers struggled to hit the ball tonight, and Braun's RBI was the only real piece of offense for the Crew tonight. Braun has been smoking hot in August, and fantasy owners should expect him to continue pounding the ball.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 8/16, 6:46 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 3-for-4 and cracked a two-run homer off of Roy Oswalt in the Brewers' 8-5 loss to the Astros Sunday.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 8/11, 11:10 PM CT
Ryan Braun went down meekly on Tuesday night, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, as his team got crushed 13-6 at home by the Padres.

Our View: Braun is now just three for his last 15 with five strikeouts. After famously calling out his team's pitching staff earlier this season, he'll have to offer better efforts than this if the Brewers want to stop their free-fall.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 8/9, 4:21 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 1-for-5 with a single in Sunday's 2-0 loss at Houston.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 8/6, 12:19 AM CT
One day after tweaking his elbow, Ryan Braun went 2-for-5 with two RBI to help the Brews to a 4-1 win in Los Angeles.

Our View: Braun has shown a remarkable ability to battle through injuries early in his major league career. Let's just hope he can eventually cut down on all the maladies, though.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 8/4, 8:48 AM CT
Ryan Braun "tweaked" his elbow Monday night against the Dodgers making a throw, but expects to play Tuesday, according to MLBlogs.com.

Our View: Braun is no stranger to nicks and bruises, and you can fully expect him to be in the Brews lineup on Tuesday night.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 8/4, 12:17 AM CT
Ryan Braun went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in tonight's 6-5 win at Los Angeles. He hit three singles and a three-run homer off Jeff Weaver.

Our View: Braun crushed his team-leading 22nd homer of the season. He also continues to pace the Brewers with a .316 batting average, and the rising star should continue to perform up to high expectations for fantasy owners.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 7/28, 11:16 PM CT
Ryan Braun did his part on Tuesday, but his Brewers fell again to the Nationals by a score of 8-3. Braun went 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI in the loss.

Our View: Braun has now homered four times in the last week, and it isn't his fault that the team is struggling. He now has 21 homers and he has the average up to .318, both more than solid for a top notch fantasy outfielder.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 7/27, 10:36 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in tonight's 14-6 loss to the Nationals at Miller Park. He hit a single, double and a solo homer off Craig Stammen.

Our View: Braun has a homer in three of his last four games, and hit 19 for the season. The rising star should remain a solid source for power among fantasy outfielders.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 7/22, 3:10 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 2-for-5 with a homer and four RBI in the Brewers' 8-7 loss to the Pirates on Wednesday afternoon.

Our View: Braun has slumped mightily in the month of July after posting over a .300 average in every other month this season. Before Wednesday's achievements he was hitting just .217 with one homer and three RBI in 69 at-bats this month.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 7/20, 11:16 PM CT

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 7/19, 11:28 AM CT
Ryan Braun is back in the Brewers lineup on Sunday after sitting out with a sore wrist on Saturday.

Our View: Braun has played well through many bumps and bruises in the past, and should be fine to reinsert into your starting lineup today.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 7/18, 6:05 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Ryan Braun is considered day-to-day after being hit by a pitch on his left wrist and right thumb in Friday's game, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: Braun is too sore to swing a bat right now, and will be re-evaluated Sunday. The rising star shall be held out of fantasy lineups until further notice.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 7/18, 4:13 PM CT
Ryan Braun is out of the Brewers' lineup for Saturday's game at Cincinnati after being struck on the left wrist and right thumb by the same pitch last night, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: It is uncertain how long Braun may be out. Frank Catalanotto will roam left field in his absence tonight.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 7/7, 10:17 PM CT
Two days after calling out his GM and pitching staff, Ryan Braun looked overmatched against the Cardinals Adam Wainwirght on Tuesday, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts as the Brewers got shutout 5-0.

Our View: For what it's worth, Braun did apologize before the game. All-in-all, he has to do no apologizing for his play in 2009, and has looked very much like the National League's top outfielder.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 7/7, 11:46 AM CT
MLBlogs.com is reporting that Brewers' GM Doug Melvin decided to fire back at outfielder Ryan Braun on Monday one day after Braun commented that Melvin needed to make some changes with the team, specifically in the rotation. Melvin told the media on Monday that Braun's comments were "inappropriate" and "irresponsible", and he went on to say that he'd "be glad to have Ryan help if he wants to. I'll give him a badge and he can be my deputy."

Our View: It is never good when your best player and your GM are having a war of words through the media, especially going into their biggest series of the season thus far against the Cardinals. Even though the deputy line by Melvin was pretty funny, he probably should have pulled Braun aside and talked to him instead of doing it through the media.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 7/6, 12:01 PM CT
Ryan Braun has called on Brewers GM Doug Melvin to make changes, according to ESPN.

Our View: He also appeared to call out his pitching staff. "No matter who is in there, we have to find a way to throw the ball better for us to have success," he said. "I think when you're constantly behind in games, it's not easy and it's not fun." Very tough remarks from a very young, albeit All-Star, player. Braun's home run totals are down from 2008, but overall he is having a big 2009 season.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 7/1, 4:44 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 on Wednesday, but like every other Brewer, failed to drive in any runs as the Crew lost 1-0 to the Mets.

Our View: After his pseudo inside-the-park grand slam on Tuesday, Brewers fans can cut their star some slack for failing to drive anyone in.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 6/26, 10:07 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in tonight's 5-1 win over the Giants at Miller Park.

Our View: Braun continues to hit well in June, as he carries a .330 batting average with seven homers and 21 RBI. He is playing up to high expectations as a top fantasy outfielder.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/25, 4:08 PM CT
Ryan Braun hit his 16th home run of 2009 on Thursday, but the Brewers couldn't overcome a 4-0 Twins lead and lost 6-5 in Milwaukee.

Our View: Braun is on pace to equal or surpass most of the career highs he set in 2008, and one of the game's premier fantasy outfielders.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 6/24, 11:38 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in tonight's 4-3 win over the Twins at Miller Park.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 6/20, 7:05 PM CT
Ryan Braun had a monster game on Saturday in the Brewers' 9-5 loss to the Tigers in Detroit. Braun went 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI in the loss.

Our View: Braun launched a mammoth homer into the left field seats in the third inning, and he also managed to drive three other hits off of Tiger pitching. Braun is still an elite player as long as he is healthy, so owners need to hope his back holds up all season.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 6/19, 5:41 PM CT
Ryan Braun will return to the diamond tonight at Detroit after exiting Wednesday's game with back tightness, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: The star outfielder should be safe to employ in fantasy lineups for tonight. Opposing hurler Armando Galarraga is 3-7 with a poor 5.56 ERA.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/18, 3:27 PM CT
Updating a previous report, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting that Brewers' slugger Ryan Braun is expected to be back in the lineup on Friday after leaving Wednesday's game in the eighth inning due to back tightness. Brewers' assistant general manager Gord Ash told the paper that the team's head trainer said he "didn't think it was anything serious."

Our View: Despite suffering from back pain nearly all season, Braun has managed to start all but three games for the team. It looks as if his removal last night was just precautionary, so he should be good to go tomorrow night when the team returns to action.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 6/17, 11:24 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's game against Cleveland, but the slugger had to leave the game in the eighth inning due to a sore lower back. He appeared to have aggravated it while running the bases.

Our View: Braun's back issues date back to last season, but he has still managed to start all but three games for Milwaukee. We expect he'll be able to play through this as well, but there's a chance it could be something more. Stay tuned.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 6/15, 10:22 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 3-for-5 with five RBI and four runs scored in Monday's 14-12 win at Cleveland. He hit a single, triple and a two-run homer off Carl Pavano. He had eight total bases in the game.

Our View: Braun raised his team-leading batting average to .319. He collected his fifth homer of June, and has 14 for the season.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/11, 5:11 PM CT
Ryan Braun hit his 13th home run of the season on Thursday, a three-run shot in the ninth off of Rockies closer Huston Street, but the Brewers still fell 5-4.

Our View: Braun continues to solidify himself as a premier fantasy outfielder in 2009. He should be a force as the season continues, and a top ten position player in next year's fantasy drafts.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 6/7, 4:20 PM CT
Ryan Braun crushed two home runs and drove in four in the Brewers' 8-7 loss to the Braves on Sunday.

Our View: Braun, who averaged over .315 for April and May, started slow in June, but Sunday's two jacks put him back on the fantasy map this month. He now has 12 homers on the season to go with his .310 average and 38 RBI.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 6/3, 10:46 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and a run scored in Milwaukee's 9-6 win over Florida on Wednesday.

Our View: Braun had just one RBI in his previous ten games and tonight was just his second home run since May 9. His batting average had dropped from .349 to .309 in that stretch.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 6/2, 9:29 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 1-for-3 with a single in Tuesday's 10-1 loss at Florida.

Our View: The Brewers only mustered four hits in the game, all singles. Braun looks to be fine after exiting Monday's game in the sixth inning.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 6/2, 11:26 AM CT
According to Brewers manager Ken Macha, Ryan Braun's departure from Monday night's game in the sixth inning was nothing more than a routine double switch, MLB.com is reporting.

Our View: Whenever Braun leaves a game, it is rarely part of a routine double switch, and TV cameras caught him appearing to display leg or foot pain after fouling a ball off his foot in the sixth inning. Still, Braun has played through many injuries before, and he will more than likely play Tuesday. He is a safe start unless otherwise noted.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 6/1, 9:16 PM CT
Ryan Braun exited Monday's battle with Florida in the sixth inning, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View: It was not disclosed if Braun left with an injury, but TV cameras caught Braun displaying signs of leg or foot pain. We will keep you posted on the elite outfielder.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 5/27, 11:33 AM CT
Updating an earlier report, Ryan Braun is in today's lineup in left field against the Cardinals, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View: He feels OK after being struck on the right wrist by a pitch in Tuesday's game. Braun should be fine to keep employed in fantasy lineups.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 5/27, 7:29 AM CT
Ryan Braun exited Tuesday's battle with the Cardinals after being struck on the right wrist by a pitch, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Frank Catalanotto replaced him in the lineup. He did not appear to be seriously hurt, but the elite outfielder's status is yet to be updated.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 5/18, 11:24 PM CT
Ryan Braun was 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, an RBI, and four runs scored as the Brewers defeated the Cardinals 8-4 on Monday. The left fielder also made a couple of exceptional defensive plays to help prevent St. Louis from coming back in the game.

Our View: There's no doubt that Braun is developing into one of the premier hitters in the game, but it should be pointed out that he has not made a single error since being moved from third base to left field.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 5/11, 2:17 PM CT
Ryan Braun has been named the NL Player of the Week, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He earned the honor by leading the league with 12 RBI last week. He also hit .458 over seven games with three homers.

Our View: Braun is playing up to high expectations as a No. 1 fantasy outfielder, as he is hitting .348 for the season, with eight homers and 28 RBI.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 5/9, 10:33 PM CT
Ryan Braun homered again on Saturday as the Brewers thrashed the Cubs 12-6. Braun was 2-for-2 with two walks, three runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base.

Our View: Braun can do it all, and he showed that on Saturday. He now has eight homers and 28 RBI to go along with his .349 average. He is a must start in all fantasy formats.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 5/8, 11:34 PM CT
Ryan Braun was 2-for-3 with a game winning, eighth-inning two-run homer on Friday. His blast sunk the Cubs and the Brewers jumped to a 3-2 win.

Our View: Braun is now hitting .337 this season with seven bombs and 26 RBI this season. He's showing why he was a first round pick in nearly every fantasy draft this season.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 5/6, 10:29 PM CT
Ryan Braun was 3-for-6 with a grand slam, six RBI, and two runs scored as the Brewers crushed the Reds 15-3 on Wednesday.

Our View: Braun had missed a few starts due to a sore back, but he looked just fine at the dish tonight. Braun has seven multi-RBI games this season compared to just three single RBI nights.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 5/5, 3:36 PM CT
Ryan Braun is back in the lineup Tuesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He has been dealing with a back issue but did have a two-RBI double as a pinch hitter last night.

Our View: Brauen recently had an MRI on the back that showed nothing. Hopefully that issue is behind him.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 5/4, 4:53 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Ryan Braun stayed in Milwaukee on Monday to get an MRI on his back while the rest of his team went to Pittsburgh. The MRI did not reveal any structural damage or offer any explanation for his lingering soreness. He will be out of the starting lineup for the third straight game on Monday.

Our View: Braun played the final two months of last season with pain in his lower back, but the current pain is in his upper back. He has hit well to start the season, but there is a lot of baseball to be played yet and owners have to be concerned if the back continues to keep him out of the lineup.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 5/3, 11:29 AM CT
Ryan Braun is not in the lineup on Sunday for the second straight day, reports MLB.com. Braun has been dealng wth a stiff upper-back.

Our View: This injury is not considered serious, but any injury to a player like Braun is a concern. Nothing to panic about yet, but Braun owners need to monitor this situation.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 4/28, 11:55 PM CT
Ryan Braun was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI as the Brewers defeated the Pirates 6-5 on Tuesday night.

Our View: Braun continues to deliver this season, even though his teammates have yet to pick up the slack. He's pretty much carrying the Brewers offensively right now, hitting .351 with five jacks and 16 RBI and fantasy owners don't have much to complain about. Now Prince Fielder owners? That's a different story.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 4/27, 10:58 PM CT
Ryan Braun was 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks, two runs scored, and an RBI in Milwaukee's 10-5 on Monday.

Our View: Braun has been consistently raking all season but the hitters around him have not been able to get it going, which has limited his overall numbers. The rest of the Brewers offense will come around, and we just hope Braun is still on when they do.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/25, 11:39 AM CT
Ryan Braun has mashed the ball of late with 12 hits in his last 25 ABs (.480) thanks to finding his rhythm at the dish, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: This hot streak has elevated Braun's numbers to .328/.451/.586 as he has hit four home runs while producing 12 RBI in 16 games. It appears that concerns over his side injury can be forgotten for the moment.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 4/21, 11:00 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 5-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored in the Brewers 11-4 loss to the Phillies on Tuesday.

Our View: Braun has not gotten off to the start he had hoped for, but he made up for a lot of that tonight. In one game, his average went from .222 to .300. Fantasy owners take note: it is still very, very early in the season.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/18, 3:40 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 in Saturday's 1-0 loss at the Mets. Both of his knocks were singles.

Our View: Braun accounted for two of the Brewers' six hits today. He has a four-game hitting streak, and collected two hits in a game for the third time this season.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 4/17, 11:14 PM CT
Outfielder Ryan Braun socked a three-run homer in Friday's loss to the Mets. It was his first long ball of the season.

Our View: The stud slugger dealt with oblique and thumb injuries this spring, and it wasn't surprising to see him start slowly. Hopefully this long ball begins a hot streak.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 4/1, 9:42 AM CT
MLB.com reports that Ryan Braun's thumb is fine after being struck in the hand by a line drive that he lost in the lights during Tuesday's game. X-rays were negative and he is considered day-to-day with the bruised thumb. He is also suffering from a strained muscle in his rib cage.

Our View: Braun has had a rocky spring littered with injury concerns, but the outfielder still should be ready come opening day. Assuming he is healthy, he should once again be among the most valuable fantasy commodities at his position.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 3/31, 10:33 PM CT
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Ryan Braun left Tuesday's game in the second inning and did not return. He lost a ball in the lights and it struck him on the thumb. He was taken to the hospital for x-rays.

Our View: This isn't good news. Apparently Braun wasn't feeling optimistic about how the x-rays were going to turn out. A broken thumb could sideline him for a while. And he was just starting to feel better with the strained side injury. Ryan Braun owners: Be afraid. Be very afraid. We'll update this story once the x-ray results are released.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 3/30, 10:01 PM CT
Ryan Braun played six innings in left field and batted third for the Brewers in their win over the Mariners on Monday, according to MLB.com. He had been limited over the previous week due to a rib injury, but he feels that he is ready to begin the season. He was 0-for-3 a day after hitting a home run off of Brian Fuentes in a minor league game.

Our View: He will play again on Tuesday and should be available throughout the entire week. The muscle is still a little tight, but he seems to be dealing with it. Keep an eye on his notes for the remainder of the week as any setback would be a red flag.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 3/27, 7:45 PM CT

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 3/26, 5:56 PM CT

Our View: Braun has been complaining of a sore side for about the last two weeks and apparently the team thought it was a big enough deal to schedule an MRI. He likely won't play again until he is medically cleared, but this doesn't look like it will cause him to miss the start of the season.

Our View: Braun's power numbers had a slight increase in 2008 from his rookie year in 2007, but he saw his average decrease from .324 to .285. Braun is still a great fantasy option, even with the slight loss in average, as he even provided 14 steals for fantasy owners in 2008.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 9/14, 5:21 PM CT
Ryan Braun continued his struggles at the plate on Sunday as he went 0-for-4 to drop his average to .292.

Our View: Obviously that shoulder isn't right, but it's still shocking to relate that Braun is just one for his last 16 and is hitting a sickly .204 with two RBI in 12 September games. As crazy as it sounds, you might look to start another option in your lineup for the coming week.

Our View: Braun's average has fallen to .297 after a four game stretch of going 1-for-17. On top of that this streaky power hitter hasn't knocked in a run in nine games, an inexcusable stretch for a player as talented as this. You simply cannot bench him, but it's been painful to run him out there the past week.

Our View: Braun tried to play on Monday and aggravated the ailment. We have to wonder when it will become time for the Brewers to simply put him on the DL and let him heal up. They need him for the stretch run, and this day-to-day stuff isn't working.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 8/19, 4:44 PM CT

But, realistically, the way this game is, it probably won't." The outfielder recently missed six days due to the ailment.

Our View: The fantasy stud remains day-to-day, and it sounds like he might need to bite down and play with this injury the rest of the way. That could create some headaches for fantasy owners.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 8/12, 5:59 PM CT

"I'll just continue getting treatment and hopefully it'll get better," said Braun. "It's definitely better today than it was yesterday

Our View: The team doesn't believe Braun will need to go on the DL with the ribcage issue, but this is the type of injury that could certainly linger without proper time to heal so don't look for him to be rushed back into the lineup.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 6/12, 5:22 PM CT
Ryan Braun had two hits, scored a run, knocked on in and stole two bases for the Brewers on Thursday.

Our View: Braun has looked good of late with with 11 RBI over his last 11 games. He hasn't taken the next step this year, but that hasn't stopped him from hitting the ball at a pace that would provide a .290 average with nearly 40 home runs, and most of us could certainly live with that kind of production.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 6/8, 7:41 PM CT
The Brewers enjoyed a bounty of hits but somehow struggled to put the Rockies to bed, finally earning the 3-2 win over Colorado. With 11 total hits by Milwaukee, including two hits each by the four guys in the meat of the order, outfielder Ryan Braun worked as the man of force, going 2-for-5 with one RBI and one runs scored on the day.

He is feeling weak and dizzy and is having trouble hearing out of his right ear. He commented, "I got it in Boston, haven't gotten better since then. There's some fluid built up so I've been a little dizzy. It's like that sensation when you get off a plane and your ear needs to 'pop' and it doesn't for a week. It's weird."

Our View: Braun is on day two of a five-day dose of antibiotics but has not noticed much of an effect on his symptoms. His production hasn't taken a hit during his illness, and he is 2-for-2 so far tonight against the Astros, while blasting his 14th homer of the season. Fantasy owners should not be concerned.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 5/18, 4:52 PM CT
Continuing his white hot hitting, Ryan Braun went deep twice on Sunday on his way to four RBI.

Our View: Just think, Braun was hitting .257 on May 9th before this run which has included eight home runs and a .363 batting average over his last eight games. So much for those early season struggles. The Brewers showed him the money, and Braun has shown opposing pitchers his bat.

Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 5/15, 9:20 AM CT

Our View: Braun now has four home runs and six RBI over his past three games and he as posted at least two hits in 5-straight games to boost his average from .257 to .294. He may not match last years level of production, but Braun will be just fine by the end of the season.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 5/12, 10:07 PM CT

Our View: Braun came into the month smoking hot, going 8-for-18 with nine RBIs and two home runs coming in. However, he has since cooled, going 2-for-24 coming into today.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 5/8, 10:21 PM CT
With Prince Fielder getting the day off, Ryan Braun went 0-for-5 while leaving five runners on base for the Brew Crew.

Our View: Braun's OBP has now dipped into the .280s, and he just hasn't been able to find his groove as he continues to strike out far too frequently. He will rebound, but don't count on him hitting in the .320s again unless a whole lot changes.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 5/1, 1:05 PM CT
Ryan Braun has not generated a home run over his last 76 at-bats, but is still hitting well right now as he is 14-for-38 (.368) over his last nine games, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The reigning NL Rookie of the Year is only hitting .273 with three homers and 18 RBI overall, but is worth targeting if you can lure him away from a disappointed fantasy owner. He still has plenty of time to pick his numbers up and make a strong impact like he did in 2007.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersFriday 4/25, 4:26 PM CT
It's still early, but questions about whether Ryan Braun could carry his Rookie of the Year numbers into his sophomore campaign have resurfaced. The Brewers left fielder is hitting .270 with three home runs and 14 RBI in April.

Our View: Could Braun have been overvalued heading into 2008 as a first-round pick with less than one full year of big league service? With such a small sample size, Braun carried significant risk, something you don't want attached to a first-round pick. With the exception of Braun's strikeout rate, every other indicator has declined in the youngster's second season. Braun's walk rate has fallen sharply from 6.0 to 3.4, and his HR Rate has dropped from 7.1 to 3.4
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersThursday 4/24, 3:58 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 3-for-4 and registered the Brewers' lone RBI in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Phillies.

Our View: Braun only hit three homers so far, but has 24 hits and 14 RBI over 21 games played. He needs to show better discipline at the plate though, as he registered 19 strikeouts and only three walks. Being more selective at the plate will bring him better pitches to hit, which will help bring up his power numbers.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 4/23, 10:21 PM CT
Ryan Braun went 1-for-4 with a run scored, though he also picked up two more strikeouts on Wednesday night.

Our View: We keep mentioning it but that doesn't make it any less true. Braun simply must control the strike zone better or he will be particularly vulnerable to slumps. As it stands he has 19 K and just three walks on the year.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 4/22, 7:27 PM CT
Milwaukee LF Ryan Braun enjoyed a productive day at the plate, hitting 2-for 5 in the Brewers' 8-9 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Ryan Braun went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI on Monday night, but he is still hitting just .237 for the season.

Our View: We keep talking about it, heck everyone does, but 17 K and just two BB through 17 games just wont get it done, especially for a player as talented as Braun. If he doesn't improve that ratio, another .300 season will be very hard to attain.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 4/15, 5:16 PM CT
Ned Yost told JS Online that Ryan Braun is out of the lineup today against St. Louis because he needs to "relax." "He's stepping in the (batter's) box and wanting to get into a real big hurry," said Yost. "He's too good a hitter for that to happen."

Our View: Braun has only three hits in his last 25 at-bats. During this slump he has struck out 11 times and drawn zero walks. The sophomore (jinx) slump is so difficult to shake, even for the most talented.

Ryan Braun continues to work on his approach at the plate but he has a long way to go as he has yet to draw a BB in 40 AB this season, according to MLB.com. "There's some anxiousness there," manager Ned Yost said. "It doesn't really 'bother' me, it concerns me a little bit. It's not something that can continue, [but] I'm not apt to change it this early. I'll give it its due course." As we have previously stated, unless Braun becomes more selective at the plate there is virtually no way he will be able to hit over .320 again though he also isn't the .250 hitter he has currently shown himself to be.

Ryan Braun did all but hit a triple in Sunday's win over the Giants. The second year Brewer went 3-for-5 with three RBI during and now has three multi-hit games in his the teams first six contests. The move to the outfield and the Brewers 5-1 start has had a lot to do with his early season sophomore success.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSaturday 4/5, 7:21 PM CT
Ryan Braun hit his first home run of the season the day after going 0-for-5 for the Brewers. Braun hammered a high fastball into the seats off of Kevin Correia and also collected a single on the day as he upped his batting average to .261. Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 4/2, 5:10 PM CT
Ryan Braun had three hits, one RBI, and one run scored on Wednesday to up his season average to .400 in 10 at-bats. Nothing less than a .300-35-120 season is expected from Braun this season, though in order to reach that level it would be nice to see him work on his plate discipline as he still strikes out too often without taking enough walks.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersWednesday 3/26, 7:26 PM CT
Ryan Braun blasted his fifth homer as he went 1-for-3 with two RBI against the White Sox on Wednesday. The rookie phenom of 2007 is off to a strong start this spring.

Ryan Braun, out for a couple of games because of a strained Achilles tendon, returned to the lineup on Friday to hit a 3-run home run. Braun will bat cleanup this year to protect Prince Fielder, so look for Braun to be at the center of a whole of scoring action for the Brew Crew.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 3/18, 7:56 PM CT
With the Brewers enjoying a needed day off on Wednesday, the team is hoping to see LF Ryan Braun back in action when the team faces the Royals on Thursday night, according to MLB.com. Braun has been nursing a tight Achilles tendon and has been a concern for Milwaukee as the regular-season approaches. He's played just once since March 11th due to the soreness in his right heel, which the team believes was brought on by a pair of rouge spikes. "Braunie should be back playing Thursday," manager Ned Yost said. "He felt better [Monday] ... and they think it was his shoes. They've got him in some orthotics that alleviate some of the [stress]. He's on the rebound. He's going to be OK."
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 3/17, 10:17 AM CT
Ryan Braun will miss yet another day of action Monday due to his tight Achilles tendon, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I don't see it as anything major," manager Ned Yost said. "I just told him, 'Let's quit fooling around with this. When it feels better, let me know.' " It will be the fifth time in the past six days that Braun won't play. Hopefully, he'll shake this off quickly and get back in action this week.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersSunday 3/16, 3:36 PM CT
Ryan Braun missed another game Sunday due to lingering tightness in his right Achilles tendon, according to MLB.com. "We don't know what's bringing it on," manager Ned Yost said. "It might be a new pair of shoes that he put on. It might be an exercise program that he was doing. He's got stiffness in his Achilles and there's no sense taking chances. ... I don't see it to be anything major." It may not be major right now, but it's becoming a little concerning. Braun missed games Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and today due to the ailment. He got into Friday's game, but clearly this is something that will need to be monitored closely in the coming days.
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersMonday 3/10, 7:25 PM CT
Ryan Braun will bat cleanup this season behind Prince Fielder, this according to MLB.com. "They're gonna pitch around Prince, just because of Prince's intimidation factor," said manager Ned Yost. "They're not gonna pitch around Prince too long with me behind him," said Braun. While this bodes well for Fielder, it could be considered a bit of a letdown for Braun who must become more selective at the plate as pitchers will certainly try to get him to expand his already large zone with Brewers on base.

Ryan Braun's agent, Nez Balelo, has had preliminary discussions with Brewers assistant GM Gord Ash regarding a contract extension. "It's certainly something I am open to, but I honestly haven't thought about it too much yet," Braun told MLB.com regarding an extension. "I'm definitely not opposed to considering whatever they have to say." Braun won the NL Rookie of the Year award last season after hitting .324 with 34 homers, 97 RBI and 15 steals. He'll be making the move from third base to left field in '08.

Brewers general manager Doug Melvin is excited about the year ahead, and he knows one of the tougher changes will be Ryan Braun's move from third base to left field. "That will be a big challenge for him," Melvin tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "He's very athletic, which helps. It'll be important for him to play (in Milwaukee) in the two (exhibition) games when we break camp, to get comfortable there."
Ryan Braun, LF, Milwaukee BrewersTuesday 11/13, 11:04 AM CT
Brewers GM Doug Melvin has heard all the talk that the team would be better off moving defensive liability Ryan Braun to the outfield, but he has no plans to do so at this time. "Right now, he's our third baseman," Melvin said in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "The only way you'd consider moving Ryan is if we had another legitimate, bona fide third baseman." The club could move Braun to right, Corey Hart to center and Bill Hall to third, but Melvin doesn't want to move Hall again, either. "To ask Billy to change positions for a third straight year is not something I want to do," Melvin said. "I think he got a lot better (in center) in the second half. We think Ryan will improve at third, too."

Ryan Braun captured the NL's Rookie of the Year Award Monday, finishing two points ahead of Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki. Braun was immense for the Brewers from the moment he joined the club in late May, rolling up a .324 average, 91 runs, 34 homers, 97 RBI and 15 stolen bases in just 113 games played. He also slugged .634 and had an OPS of 1.004. Best of all for fantasy owners, in most leagues you don't receive any downgrade for Braun's leaky defense (26 errors).

Ned Yost will continue to take out Ryan Braun for defensive purposes when the Brewers are leading in the late innings, even though it costs the team one of its top hitters, the AP reports. "We have given up four- and one-run runs leads, and it always starts with an error somewhere. We don't need any extra guys on base," Yost said.

"I feel like I'm finally starting to get comfortable," he tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "Performance-wise I feel like I probably couldn't have swung the bat much worse than I have these first couple weeks...I feel like I've struck out too much. I've swung at too many bad pitches." Ryan Braun smashed his fifth homer of the spring against the Cubs on Monday, but he was sent to minor league camp after the game, according to the AP. "He's really done a nice job offensively, but he still needs to polish some of his defense," Brewers manager Ned Yost said. "He knows what he needs to do. He's really, really close." Braun, who batted .353 this spring, will begin the season as the starting third baseman at Triple-A Nashville, but assuming he sharpens up his defense, the Brewers won't be able to keep his bat out of the big-league lineup for very long.

On Saturday, Ryan Braun received clearance to resume baseball activities, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He had been shut down for a week after experiencing soreness in his right elbow. "Everything's good," said Braun. "I'm back to resuming throwing today and full-go hitting, and I'm assuming it will be a somewhat gradual process and hopefully I'll be back into games in. . . . I don't know an exact timetable but hopefully within a few days. If I had to guess, three to five, probably."

Ryan Braun, one of the top third base prospects in the game, made quite the impression in his spring debut on Thursday against Oakland, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, seven RBI and a stolen base. He's expected to begin the regular season at Triple-A, but his bat could force the issue at some point during the year.
