Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 8/15, 10:05 AM CT
Mike Timlin has been released by the Colorado Rockies.

Our View: The Rockies had no available roster spot for him in the major leagues, and he did not want to travel with Triple-A Colorado Springs. It's safe to say Timlin, 43, has thrown his last major league pitch.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 8/6, 12:43 PM CT
According to MLBlogs.com, the Rockies have promoted veteran reliever Mike Timlin to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Our View: Timlin, now 43-years-old, made two appearance in Rookie-level Casper, did not allow a run and made the leap all the way to Triple-A. If anyone in the Rockies current bullpen suffers an injury, Timlin would likely get the call.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/29, 8:13 PM CT
The Rockies have signed Mike Timlin to a minor league contract

Our View: Timlin is 43, but the Rox are desperate for bullpen help. He was ineffective for the Red Sox last season, but you really never know with relievers. Still, don't even think about adding him in leagues with middle relievers.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/22, 12:59 PM CT
According to the Denver Post, the Rockies may offer Mike Timlin, who has been staying in shape and working out at Coors Field, a minor league contract.

Our View: The Rockies always need bullpen help and Timiln could be an affordable option for them. If signed the 43-year old would likely require a tune-up in the minors before joining Colorado's pen. Timlin feels he's up to it, saying "God has given me the strength to do this. I believe I can still pitch at this level."
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 11/4, 10:31 AM CT
Mike Timlin will not be re-signed by the Red Sox, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Timlin's ERA of 5.66 was the worst of his 17-year career. However, he will likely be able to find a one-year deal if he still desires to pitch.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 10/9, 2:54 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Mike Timlin has made Boston's ALCS roster, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View: He made the cut because Mike Lowell was not eligible for the ALCS roster after being pulled from the ALDS roster due to injury. The 18-year veteran is likely thrilled to make the cut, but shouldn't see much action against the Rays while on the bottom of the bullpen depth chart.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 10/9, 8:29 AM CT
Mike Timlin will find out today if he will be on Boston's roster for the ALCS against Tampa Bay, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: The 18-year veteran was left off the ALDS roster against the Angels. He held a poor 5.66 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 49.1 innings of relief in the regular season.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 10/3, 11:28 AM CT
Red Sox reliever Mike Timlin was left off the team's postseason roster after a difficult year, and now it appears he may have thrown his final pitch in the major leagues, as he is seriously contemplating retirement, according to the Boston Herald. "There’s a real possibility I could shut it down," Timlin said.

Our View: If he does shut it down, it will end a very good career. Timlin has appeared in more games a right-handed reliever than anyone in baseball history, but had the highest ERA of his career this season. His 5.66 ERA is the highest it has been since 1994, when he sported a mark of 5.18.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 10/2, 8:52 AM CT
Red Sox reliever Mike Timlin was not put on the team's postseason roster, according to the Boston Globe. "I think our obligations are to put the best out there we can," Boston manager Terry Francona said.

Red Sox reliever Mike Timlin made the 1,051st appearance of his career on Monday, breaking the record of former reliever Kent Tekulve for the most appearances ever by a right-handed hurler, according to the Boston Globe. He has the fourth most appearances in history, behind Jesse Orosco, Mike Stanton and John Franco.

Our View: Timlin has not fared well this season, with an ERA near 6.00, so his fantasy contributions are nil. He said he has not decided whether or not he will try and play again next season.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 7/3, 10:54 AM CT
Mike Timlin is due to come back off of the DL prior to Thursday's game, according to the Boston Herald. Chris Smith was optioned to the minors to create room on the roster.

Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 6/27, 7:20 AM CT
According to the Boston Globe, Red Sox reliever Mike Timlin pitched a clean eighth inning versus Richmond on Thursday night. Timlin on a rehab assignment, will pitch three or four one-inning stints for the PawSox before rejoining the team next week.

Our View: Timlin isn't the pitcher he once was, and when he was at his best his fantasy value rested in deep leagues that rewarded holds. The right-hander looked incredibly hittable in his last outing vs. Philadelphia before going on the disable list. It's hard to believe that will change anytime soon.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 6/26, 9:07 PM CT
Mike Timlin began his rehab assignment on Thursday as he threw 10 pitches to retire the order in an inning of work, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View: Reports had Timlin touching 92 mph on the gun, a good sign that his knee is in good shape. However, Timlin is still virtually useless in fantasy leagues and not likely to do much but take up space once activated by the Bo Sox.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 6/25, 6:55 PM CT
Mike Timlin, out with left knee tendinitis, is on pace to make an appearance in Triple-A for the Pawtucket Sox on Thursday, with a targeted return date of July 4th if everything goes well, according to MLB.com. "He'll throw an inning tomorrow night in Pawtucket and go from there," said manager Terry Francona.

Our View: Timlin has been awful this year with a 7.06 ERA and 1.85 WHIP, so he isn't even worth rostering in AL Only leagues at this point even when healthy.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 6/21, 1:02 PM CT
Mike Timlin has been placed on the 15-day DL due to tendinitis of the left knee. according to the Providence Journal. Dice-K has been activated from the DL, as a corresponding move. Manager Terry Francona said, "It's something he's been pitching through. I think it has something to do with the inconsistency. We all ended up agreeing that this is probably the best thing for him and the organization."

Our View: Francona will have Timlin rest for the rest of the homestand, then likely send him to Triple-A Pawtucket to begin a rehab program. He could return when he proves he can pitch effectively again.
Mike Timlin, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 5/17, 11:27 PM CT
Mike Timlin pitched the ninth for his first save and the Boston Red Sox beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-6 on Saturday to complete a sweep of their day-night doubleheader.
