Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 10/1, 12:09 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff's 18th home run and three RBI would be more than enough for San Diego's pitching staff on Wednesday night, as they combined for a one-hitter in a 4-0 San Diego win over the Dodgers.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has now hit at least 18 home runs, and driven in at least 74, in each of the past three seasons. He's an elite option at third base in NL-only leagues, and a very solid one in mixed formats.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 9/26, 8:02 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff (calf, back) is expected to be back to the field by Tuesday to be available for San Diego's final two series, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View: Though he's not guaranteed to play each of the Padres' final five games, expect him to be slotted back as the team's starting third baseman, moving Chase Headley from third to left field and Oscar Salazar out of the lineup. Still, Kouzmanoff should only be considered an option to those desperate for power.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresTuesday 9/22, 8:58 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Kevin Kouzmanoff, who has been out since September 8th with a strained calf, is now suffering from tightness in his back.

Our View: Kouzmanoff is no longer feeling the effects of the calf injury, but the back has become a serious issue. He was supposed to participate in running drills on Monday, but couldn't even touch his toes. The Padres, who have nothing to play for, are probably better off shutting him down for the season. If you happen to own him, it's time to cut the cord.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresFriday 9/11, 8:34 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff is expected to miss the next six games while recovering from a strained left calf, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View: Chase Headley will cover the hot corner while Kouzmanoff is on the shelf. He will be missed as he is having a strong year defensively, and was leading the Padres with 84 RBI prior to going down.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 9/9, 4:10 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff could miss up to one week after straining his left calf making a throw on Wednesday, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Kouzmanoff leads the majors in fielding position at third base (.990), and leads the Padres in RBI with 84. It could be a long stretch drive for the team should he miss a significant amount of time. Chase Headley will likely get the bulk of the starts at third while he is out.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 9/9, 12:27 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-5 with his 17th home run on Tuesday night, helping the Padres deliver a damaging 4-3 loss to the Giants in San Francisco.

Our View: Kouzmanoff's 84 RBI are fourth amongst all major league third baseman in 2009, and with his low name recognition, he could be a nice sleeper pick in next year's drafts.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresTuesday 9/1, 11:44 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the Padres 4-1 win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

Our View: Kouz only has 16 homers this season, but the Padre third baseman has 78 RBI and has ripped 31 doubles. He's not the best fantasy option at the hot corner, but at least he's proving that someone in San Diego can drive in runs besides Adrian Gonzalez.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresMonday 8/31, 11:29 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff helped lead the Padres in tonight's 3-1 win over the Nationals at Petco Park, as he went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Our View: Kouzmanoff extended his hitting streak to seven games, with six RBI over the span. He is now tied with Adrian Gonzalez for the team lead with 77 RBI.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/26, 9:37 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went just 1-for-5 on Wednesday, but managed to homer and drive in three runs, as the Padres romped over the wild card contending Braves 12-5.

Our View: Kouzmanoff is batting just .256 this season, but is actually tied for fourth amongst all major league third basemen with 74 RBI.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresFriday 8/14, 11:00 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff's garbage time home run off Jason Motte provided the only two San Diego runs on Friday, as the Padres lost 9-2 in St. Louis.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has quietly put together a 67-RBI season, and is a solid option in all formats.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 8/13, 4:40 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff laced a career best five hits on Thursday, and knocked in two runs, but it still wasn't enough for the Padres, as they lost a 12-9 shootout in Milwaukee.

Our View: Kouzmanoff now has 11 hits in his past three games, and has raised his average from .246 to .264 in the process.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/12, 10:56 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 3-for-4 on Wednesday, and singled in what proved to be the winning run in the sixth inning, as the Pads beat the fading Brewers 6-5 in Milwaukee.

Our View: Kouzmanoff is batting only .255 this season, but with 63 RBI, is not a bad play in any league.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSunday 8/2, 12:07 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-3 with an RBI in tonight's 4-2 win over the Brewers at Petco Park, as he went 2-for-3 with an RBI. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: Kouzmanoff quietly racked up eight RBI over his last nine games, and is worth employing in NL-only leagues while hot.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresTuesday 7/28, 9:37 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff had two more RBI on Tuesday as the Padres downed the Reds by a score of 3-2. Kouzmanoff went 2-for-3 with two doubles and the two RBI.

Our View: Kouz has driven in 56 runs this season, but his .247 average is less than stellar considering he has only 14 homers. He is a decent offensive player, but his fantasy value is probably limited to deeper mixed leagues and NL-only formats.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/24, 9:33 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in tonight's 6-2 win at Washington. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: Kouzmanoff was in need of a solid performance, as he was 1-for-11 over his previous three games. He has 11 RBI this month, and 51 for the season.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/22, 5:32 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff gets to wear a golden sombrero tonight after striking out four times in the Padres 5-0 loss to the Marlins on Wednesday. The team collected just three hits.

Our View: He dipped his average to .244 in the process. Still, Kouzmanoff has been one of the lone offensive bright spots for the Padres this season, bashing 13 home runs to go along with 50 RBI, and should be manning third base in San Diego for at least the next few seasons.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/17, 12:43 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff drove in the Padres only run on Thursday, as the Rockies dismantled them in San Diego, 10-1.

Our View: Kouzmanoff is batting just .243 on the season, but has displayed enough power to warrant looks in deeper mixed leagues, and definite owns in NL-only leagues.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSunday 7/12, 9:05 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 4-for-5 with a three run homer and three runs scored in the Padres' 10-4 thrashing of the Giants on Sunday.

Our View: This was a big day for Kouzmanoff, but the Padres' third baseman is still a far cry from a top fantasy producer. His line now looks like this: .244-12-47.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/10, 11:58 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in tonight's 8-0 loss at San Francisco.

Our View: Jonathan Sanchez threw a no-hitter, and Kouzmanoff accounted for two of his 11 strikeouts. Kouzmanoff had a five-game hitting streak snapped.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/10, 12:07 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI in tonight's 9-3 loss at San Francisco.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has a hit in five straight games, with four RBI over the span. He is worth employing in fantasy lineups while hot.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/8, 5:51 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI on Wednesday, but it wasn't nearly enough as the Padres lost 6-2 to the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Our View: Kouzmanoff's average continues to hover at sub-.250 levels, but he has supplied a decent amount of power this year, and is an acceptable option at third base in deeper leagues, ideally as a fill-in.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSunday 7/5, 8:44 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 1-for-3 with a solo homer off Chad Billingsley in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Dodgers at Petco Park.

Our View: Kouzmanoff ended a nine-game drought without a homer, and now has 11 for the season. He was hitless over his previous five games (18 at-bats) as well.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/1, 9:34 PM CT
The Seattle Mariners are interested in Kevin Kouzmanoff, according to FoxSports.com.

Our View: It's hard to tell what's more surprising: the fact that the Mariners want to be buyers, or that they are interested in buying Kevin Kouzmanoff. Stay tuned for updates on this unlikely turn of events.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 6/25, 12:32 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer off Brandon Morrow in tonight's 4-3 loss at Seattle.

Our View: Kouzmanoff is enjoying a power surge, as he generated three homers over his last seven games. He has six home runs in June after only launching four over the first two months of the season.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSunday 6/21, 6:37 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer off Russ Springer in Sunday's 4-1 win over the A's at Petco Park.

Our View: Kouzmanoff is only hitting .238 for the season, but has been a decent source for power this month with five homers. He has a hit in five of his last six games as well.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 6/20, 1:09 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff was productive in Friday's 7-5 loss to Oakland at Petco Park, as he went 2-for-5 with two RBI. Both of his knocks were singles.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has a hit in four straight games, and has a .274 batting average with four homers and 16 RBI so far in June. He is swinging the stick much better this month after struggling in May with a .214 batting average.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 6/18, 5:44 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff didn't homer for the fourth time in six games on Thursday, but he did hit a walk off single in the tenth inning as the Padres beat the Mariners 4-3.

Our View: Kouzmanoff only went 1-for-5, and struck out three times, but got the Pads biggest hit on a day when Adrian Gonzalez went 4-for-4.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 6/17, 11:54 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff was 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners. It was his third home run in his last five games.

Our View: Kouz has just eight home runs on the season, but half of them have come in his last nine games. June has been much better to him than the first two months, and he already has 13 RBI on the month. However, we have our doubts that he will be able to keep this pace up much longer.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 6/13, 10:52 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and recorded the Padres' lone RBI in Saturday's 9-1 loss at the Angels.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has homered in back-to-back games, and has three so far in June. He is finding his power stroke after only hitting three homers in the entire month of May.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 6/13, 12:29 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff was productive in Friday's 11-6 loss at the Angels, as he went 3-for-4 with three RBI. He hit two singles and a two-run homer.

Our View: He has two homers so far in June after only hitting three in the entire month of May. He has nine hits and 11 RBI over his last five games as well. Keep Kouzmanoff active in fantasy lineups while he is swinging a hot stick.

Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresMonday 6/8, 11:55 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff led the Padres offensively in Monday's 6-3 win over the Diamondbacks at Petco Park, as he went 2-for-4 with four RBI. He hit a single and a double.

Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresMonday 5/25, 9:05 AM CT
Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times has indicated that the Padres have displayed an interest to deal third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff.

Our View: Wittenmyer also considers the Cubs a fit with Aramis Ramirez on the shelf. Kouzmanoff has good power and his home run totals would rise while leaving Petco Park for the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. The source did not disclose if the Cubs actually inquired about Kouzmanoff.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSunday 5/24, 6:16 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff was 2-for-4 and blasted his fourth home run of the season on Sunday. He drove in four altogether as the Padres knocked off the Cubs 7-2.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has been miserable this season. Despite today's impressive effort, he's hitting just .236 on the season with four homers and 16 RBI. There are more promising fantasy options out there and Kouz is better left for the waiver wire.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSunday 5/17, 8:56 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff was 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a run scored in the Padres 3-1 win over the Reds.

Our View: Kouz has had a forgettable start to 2009, but he now has six hits in his last three games. He's not quite fantasy ready, and he certainly does not benefit from playing in San Diego. Despite his recent surge, he is still hitting just .237/.289/.338.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSunday 4/19, 12:05 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff had a big day at the dish on Saturday, going 3-for-5 a homer and three RBI in the Padres 8-5 win over the Phillies.

Our View: Kouzmanoff was off to a wretched start this season, but broke out on Saturday. Before the game he had exactly one extra-base hit (a triple) and was hitting below the Mendoza line. Today was a step in the right direction, but he's still not a strong fantasy option.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 4/9, 12:10 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts while hitting fifth for the Padres in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Our View: Kouz is expected to provide Adrian Gonzalez in the order this season, but he simply does not inspire fear in his opposition. He may be worth holding as a reserve, but he is among the weaker options at his position.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 3/14, 8:29 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff was 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the Padres 8-4 win over the Giants on Saturday.

Our View: Kouz is now 9-for-20 this spring with five extra base hits. He is a decent hitting third baseman, but PETCO park severely limits his production. That and his inability to take a walk.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 3/12, 10:12 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs against the Brewers on Thursday.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has been hot this spring, going 7-for-16 with two home runs and three doubles. He's been a dependable player at the hot corner for San Diego the past two years and is well worth a look once the middle rounds begin to roll around in your draft.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresTuesday 3/10, 12:24 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff had a big day for the Padres on Monday, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.

Our View: Kouzmanoff collected 23 home runs and 84 RBI last year at the hot corner. If he can improve further on those numbers, he could be a very valuable player in fantasy leagues.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 1/17, 10:39 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff has resumed throwing this week following shoulder surgery in November, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View: The young slugger is confident he will be ready to go for opening day.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresTuesday 12/9, 12:10 PM CT
The Star Tribune reports that the Twins have had internal discussions about San Diego’s Kevin Kouzmanoff.

Our View: Kouz would likely benefit from a move away from cavernous PetCo park but it's unclear if the Twins and Padres have actually discussed such a deal.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresMonday 11/17, 8:03 PM CT
The AP reports that Padres third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff had arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder and is expected to be ready by the start of spring training.

Our View: Kouzmanoff batted .260 with 23 home runs and 84 RBIs this season, when San Diego lost 99 games and finished last in the NL West. The Padres will need him to perform better if they hope to ressurrect their offense next season.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 9/27, 11:50 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff hit his 23rd home run of the year in Saturday night's 3-2 win over the Pirates.

Our View: It has been a rough September for Kouzmanoff who is hitting .202 with five home runs. Even though he has had a rough September he has been a solid contributor.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 9/17, 5:26 PM CT
On Wednesday, Kevin Kouzmanoff broke the Padres franchise record for hit by pitches with 14 in a season, according to the AP.

Our View: Kouzmanoff should be owned in all leagues but is having a rough September. He is only hitting .206 and while collecting four extra base hits in 63 at-bats.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/20, 11:34 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 1-for-4, but hit his 19th home run of the year in the Padres 8-6 loss to Arizona.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has had a nice August, and should be owned in all fantasy formats. Of his 21 hits on the month, eight have been for extra bases, pushing his slugging percentage over .500 in that time period.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 8/9, 11:14 PM CT
The Padres and Rockies are hoping to find a way to fight with the Dodgers, but tonight the Rocks would have been happy just to compete, falling 8-3 to San Diego thanks to the bats of corner infielders Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Kouzmanoff. Gonzalez went 2-for-5 with his 28th homer of the season to total two RBIs and two runs scored while Kouz went 3-for-5 witih one RBI and two runs scored.

Our View: Gonzalez continues to keep a hot bat, already touting three home runs through August. Kouzmanoff carries two homers of his own, though his .281 average is considerably better.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 8/7, 2:23 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 0-for-4 in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Mets. He left a team-high five men on base.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has gone hitless in two straight games against the Mets, but should bounce back, as the Padres head to Coors Field for a three-game set against the Rockies.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresFriday 7/25, 8:49 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-4 and hit a RBI single in the eighth that wound up being the game-winner in the Padres 6-5 victory over Pittsburgh.

Our View: This is the third game in a row that Kouzmanoff has gotten two hits, and he is hitting well over .300 in July.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 7/23, 3:34 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's 9-5 loss to the Reds at the Great American Ballpark.

Our View: He collected his 13th homer of the season, which is only his second in the month of July.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresMonday 7/21, 9:32 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff doubled, singled, and drove in three runs for the Padres against the Reds on Monday. The third baseman now has an RBI in six straight games.

Our View: Kouzmanoff hasn't hit as well as we hoped this season, but he has picked up his pace since the middle of June. He is hitting .343 with four homers and 19 RBI over the last 26 games.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 7/17, 7:06 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff has hit safely in 17 of the last 21 games. He is 28-for-82 (.341) with nine doubles, one triple, four home runs and 12 RBIs in that span.

Our View: Kouz has traditionally been a second half player and should be able to help your team in the second half.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 7/5, 12:06 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Friday's 5-1 win over Arizona. Both of his hits were singles.

Our View: Kouzmanoff is hitting .307 (12-for-39) over his last 10 games. He could be headed for a solid second half of 2008.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 6/25, 7:51 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff was back in the lineup Tuesday night. Kouzmanoff missed six games because of back pain.

Our View: Kouzmanoff went 1-for-4 in the game and is hitting .263 on the season.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresMonday 6/23, 10:08 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff is expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday after missing the previous six games with a sore back, according to the San Diego Tribune.

Our View: Kouzmanoff has a .263 batting average to go with 10 home runs and 33 RBI to this point, but has always been a good play in the 2nd half. In the 2nd half on '07 he hit .317 with 11 home runs and 37 RBI in 73 games.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 6/21, 10:18 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff's MRI results revealed a irritated disk in his ailing back, but he is not expected to land on the DL, according to the North County Times. He said on Friday, "I feel a lot better today from Tuesday. I don't think I'm going to need two weeks to heal."

Our View: Kouzmanoff could return to his post at third base at some point next week, assuming his back cooperates.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresFriday 6/20, 9:47 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff will undergo an MRI on his strained back, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View: Kouzmanoff was expected to miss 3-5 days due to the ailment, and manager Bud Black noted that a trip to the DL is a remote possibility. He missed five games last season with a similar ailment.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresThursday 6/19, 11:41 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff could miss 3-5 days due to his strained back, according to CBSsports.com. Manager Bud Black said, "He'll probably be sidelined three to five days, though there's an outside chance he could wind up on the disabled list."

Our View: He did not tear a muscle in his back, and will be re-evaluated when the team returns home (from New York) this weekend. Top prospect Chase Headley should continue to roam third base while Kouzmanoff is out of action.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 6/18, 10:22 AM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff was out of the lineup on Tuesday because he tweaked his back while taking grounders in pre-game warm-ups. "It could be day-to-day for Kouz," manager Bud Black tells the San Diego Union-Tribune. "It could be longer."

Our View: Fantasy owners should plan on Kouz being out on Wednesday and probably Thursday, at the least. We'll provide more updates when available. Meanwhile, Chase Headley will move in to third base.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSaturday 6/14, 10:19 PM CT
The win was within reach, but the Padres still enjoyed the contributions of third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff , taking the 8-3 win in extra innings from Cleveland. Kouzmanoff went 2-for-5 overall, but the grand slam in the top of the 10th was the money winner, ending with four RBIs on the night.

Our View: Kouz hit the granny after the winning run was walked in, but the comfort of insurance surely did the pitchers well.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 6/11, 12:21 AM CT
The Padres scattered seven hits over nine and failed to translate the runs, falling 7-2 to the Dodgers. Third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff may feel the worst, going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts and five men left on base.

Our View: Kouz is hitting just .185 for the month of June but has showcased a strong eye with three walks versus five strikeouts coming in.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresSunday 5/25, 9:26 PM CT
San Diego used every bit of 18 innings to put the Reds in the loss column tonight, though third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff did what he could to end it much sooner. Kouzmanoff went 3-for-7 at the plate with one walk and not one but two home runs, giving Kouzmanoff two RBIs and three runs scored on the evening.

Our View: This brings Kouz to five homers for the month of May, and his batting average is on the rise as well (now hitting .279).
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresTuesday 5/20, 11:48 PM CT
San Diego third baseman Kevin Kouzmanoff enjoyed a strong evening at the plate as the Padres put the 3-2 win on St. Louis this evening. Kouz went 2-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season, a gem winner off Joel Pineiro in the sixth inning totaling three RBIs.

Our View: Kouzmanoff hasn't been a beacon of offense for the Padres each and every time he hits the field, but he now sits at 21-for-72 for the month of May.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresTuesday 5/13, 7:44 PM CT
Kevin Kouzmanoff will be held out of the Padres starting lineup on Tuesday after making 39-straight starts, according to MLB.com. "I told [Kouzmanoff] last night that he wasn't going to start today," manager Bud Black said. "That doesn't mean he's not going to be in there. I told him to be ready to play. I think he needed to get off his feet, watch a game this year."

Our View: Kouzmanoff's time off occurs at an odd time considering he is hitting .318 with just one K in 44 May AB, but the decision was made to give him a break nonetheless. Edgar Gonzalez will start in his place, and for those of you who aren't in the know, Edgar is the brother of the squads first baseman Adrian.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 5/7, 8:50 PM CT
The Padres are struggling to maintain consistent performance on the field, but 3B Kevin Kouzmanoff has been doing what he can to set the tone for progress. Tonight Kouzmanoff went 2-for-4 at the plate in the Padres' 5-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves, hitting his fifth double of the season and adding a run scored to the stat line.

Our View: Over his last seven games, Kouz has gone 12-for-28, failing to suffer a single strike out along the way.
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, San Diego PadresWednesday 4/16, 12:02 AM CT
San Diego 3B Kevin Kouzmanoff works forward with a hot bat, doing a farmer's share of the work in the Padres 0-6 win over the Colorado Rockies. Kouzmanoff went 3-for-4 at the dish, hitting a double (his first of the year) to pick up two RBIs and one run scored.
