Tyler Johnson, P, Seattle MarinersSaturday 6/6, 6:58 PM CT
The Tacoma News Tribune is reporting that the Mariners have released pitcher Tyler Johnson. Johnson had been struggling since offseason shoulder surgery, and he had a clause in his contract that he could be released if he was not on the major league roster by July 1.

Our View: The Mariners had hoped that Johnson would be their lefty specialist by June, but his recovery was not going well. He will probably catch on with someone considering he is left handed, but he will have no fantasy value regradless of where he goes.

They have been great getting me where I need to be, and I am not at all depressed with what happened. The Mariners are very understanding, and I would not want to be anywhere else."

Our View: He will resume throwing on Wednesday. He missed all of last season with bursitis in his throwing shoulder, and the club will proceed with caution. He is not worth drafting as a middle-reliever as of now.
