Taylor Tankersley, P, Florida MarlinsWednesday 4/15, 9:20 AM CT
Taylor Tankersley is slated to undergo surgery Friday to repair a stress fracture in his left elbow, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Tankersley may miss the entire 2009 campaign. He would not have held much fantasy value as a middle reliever if healthy.
Taylor Tankersley, P, Florida MarlinsTuesday 3/24, 11:09 AM CT
Taylor Tankersley has been optioned to Triple-A New Orleans, according to the Miami Herald. He struggled in spring action and said, "I have been trying to get back to my old self and I have not found it yet. The results do not help your confidence."

Our View: Tankersley would not have held much fantasy value if he made the Marlins as a middle reliever. He will now serve as organizational depth in the minors.
Taylor Tankersley, P, Florida MarlinsSunday 3/15, 6:06 PM CT
Taylor Tankersley was rocked for six hits and six earned runs in Sunday's outing against the Mets.

Our View: The 26-year-old has now allowed 11 earned runs in 5.1 innings this spring. He was trying to break the opening day roster but that is beginning to look like a long shot.

Taylor Tankersley is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque prior to Monday's game against the Mets, according to the Sun-Sentinel. He will be the corresponding move for Rick VandenHurk, who was optioned to Triple-A.

Our View: Tankersley will work out of the bullpen until Anibel Sanchez is called up to start Thursday. He allowed 16 earned runs and 21 hits over 16.2 innings with Florida this season, and does not merit fantasy attention.
Taylor Tankersley, P, Florida MarlinsSunday 7/6, 12:02 PM CT
Taylor Tankersley has been optioned back to Triple-A Albuquerque, according to MLB.com. The team called up 21-year-old top prospect Christopher Volstad from Double-A Carolina as an adjoining move.

Our View: The reliever held no fantasy value with the Marlins prior to his demotion, as he allowed 16 earned runs, 21 hits, and eight walks over 16.2 innings.
Taylor Tankersley, P, Florida MarlinsThursday 7/3, 9:42 AM CT
Taylor Tankersley was called back up on Wednesday after compiling a 1.98 ERA in 13.2 innings in the minors.

Our View: Tankersley was awful at the start of the season but had a combined 3.46 ERA in 116 appearances over 2006 and 2007. The Marlins need another lefty in their bullpen and are no doubt hoping that Tankersley has returned to form.

"He's going to Triple-A and work on throwing strikes. I have all the confidence he can come back." Tankersley's ERA sits at 6.65 and his WHIP at 1.74, but he should be back with the Marlins if he can figure things out in the minors.

Taylor Tankersley, P, Florida MarlinsFriday 4/6, 1:22 PM CT
Taylor Tankersley allowed three runs in one messy inning at Single-A Thursday, which might be enough to push back his return date. Taylor Tankersley, P, Florida MarlinsWednesday 4/4, 11:37 AM CT
Taylor Tankersley threw 25 pitches in a simulated game Tuesday, the Miami Herald reports. It's still not clear yet if Tankersley (shoulder) will be ready to come off the DL on schedule Saturday. "We're starting to close the gap on it," pitching coach Rick Kranitz said. "But I'd like to see him throw a little bit more. We've got to get him some more games." Tankersley is scheduled for a relief appearance Thursday at Single-A.

He's dealing with tendinitis in his left shoulder. "It was pain-free and felt normal -- as normal as you can feel after 12 days off," Tankersley said. "Opening Day is a real possibility if I keep progressing this way. If there's any setbacks, it will be tough."
