Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersMonday 3/15, 6:19 PM CT
Ian Kinsler is progressing well in his recovery from a high-ankle sprain, according to ESPN Dallas. He wanted to throw today, to keep his arm strength up.

Our View: Kinsler is also walking briskly, and is getting better every day. There is no timetable for his return to the diamond, but Kinsler is looking at a seven-day window.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 3/13, 9:46 AM CT
Ian Kinsler will miss the Rangers' next week of spring action after spraining his ankle on Friday, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Our View: That's a tad longer than originally thought, so it must be a fairly severe sprain. While Kinsler's fantasy value is undeniably huge, he is not without questions after a dreadful (by his standards) second half to the 2009 season. He might be best to avoid until the middle rounds of your draft.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 3/12, 12:14 PM CT
Ian Kinsler was scratched from the Rangers' lineup today after rolling his ankle in pre-game drills, according to the Forth Worth Star-Telegram's Anthony Andro.

Our View: The injury does not appear to be serious, and you can expect Kinsler within the next few days. Kinsler's somewhat brittle nature is a factor to keep in mind on draft day, though today's ankle injury should not deter you from drafting him.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 11/4, 8:09 AM CT
According to the Dallas Morning News, the Rangers are expected to hire former Rockies manager Clint Hurdle as the organization's new hitting coach.

Our View: With incumbent Rudy Jaramillo bolting for a three-year deal with the Cubs, the Rangers seem to have settled on Hurdle. He appears to be the top candidate out of a group that included Thad Bosley, Rusty Greer and Gerald Perry.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 10/14, 12:25 PM CT
After 15 seasons as the team's hitting coach, Rudy Jaramillo will not be returning to the Rangers in 2010, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Our View: Let the frenzy for his services begin. The Mets are the most obvious candidate, but will surely face very stiff competition for the unquestioned best hitting coach in baseball.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 10/4, 7:45 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the Rangers 4-3 loss to the Mariners on Sunday.

Our View: Kinsler showed a tremendous boost in power this season with 31 homers (a career high), but his numbers dipped significantly in almost every other category. The elite second baseman was a nice source of pop and speed (31), but his .253 average was more than disappointing.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 9/25, 10:35 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer off Grant Balfour in Friday's 8-3 win over the Rays at Rangers Ballpark.

Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 9/24, 6:16 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-5 with two runs scored in the Rangers' 12-3 loss to the A's. Kinsler is hitting .249 on the season.

Our View: Kinsler hit in the leadoff role today, and he found a way to score two of the three Ranger runs. His average has been a bit of a disappointment this season, but his 29 homers and 29 stolen bases are both plenty excellent numbers.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 9/6, 5:21 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 2-for-3 in the three hole for the Rangers on Sunday, but couldn't get anything going in the way of run production, as Texas lost 7-0 in Baltimore.

Our View: Kinsler now has three two-hit games this month after posting just six in all of August.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersTuesday 9/1, 6:55 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 2-for-4 with a single and a solo homer off Marc Rzepczynski in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Toronto at Rangers Ballpark in the first game of their doubleheader.

Ian Kinsler went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer off Carl Pavano in tonight's 9-6 loss to the Twins at Rangers Ballpark.

Our View: Kinlser hit a homer in three of his four games since coming off the DL (strained hamstring), and now leads the Rangers with 26. The rising star should remain a good source for power as long as he stays healthy.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 8/16, 6:35 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI in the Rangers' 4-3 win over the Red Sox on Sunday.

Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 8/15, 11:23 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 2-for-3 with a single and a solo homer off Brad Penny in tonight's 7-2 win over Boston at Rangers Ballpark. He also swiped a base.

Our View: Kinsler launched his 24th homer in his first game back from the DL (strained left hamstring), and tonight's solid performance confirms that he is safe to pencil back into fantasy lineups.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 8/15, 5:06 PM CT
Ian Kinsler is set to return to the starting lineup tonight against Boston following his bout with a strained left hamstring, according to MLBblogs.com.

Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 8/14, 4:25 PM CT
Ian Kinsler has been activated from the 15-day DL following his recovery from a strained left hamstring, according to MLBblogs.com. Slugger Nelson Cruz (sprained ankle) was placed on the DL as the corresponding move.

Our View: Kinsler is not in Friday's lineup against Boston, but should be fine to pencil back into fantasy lineups when he returns, likely this weekend.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 8/13, 1:55 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 0-for-2 with a hit by pitch on Wednesday in his first of two rehab starts with Double-A Frisco, according to the Dallas Morning News. Kinsler will play again on Thursday before being activated by the team on Friday.

Our View: The Rangers must have just loved it when Kinsler was hit by the pitch in a Double-A rehab game, but lucky for him it didn't result in an injury. He will play the full nine tonight before rejoining the team tomorrow in Boston. Kinsler owners should be ready to activate him for tomorrow's game.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersTuesday 8/11, 4:48 PM CT
Ian Kinsler is set to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco Wednesday, according to the Dallas Morning News. He has been recovering from a strained left hamstring, and the injury is no longer hurting him.

Our View: If he fares fine over his two rehab games, Kinsler could get the green light to return to the Rangers for Friday's battle with the Red Sox.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 8/6, 8:44 AM CT
According to the Dallas Morning News, injured second baseman Ian Kinsler is lifting weights to keep his legs strong while he recovers from a strained left hamstring. He is also running, taking batting practice and going through agility drills.

Our View: Apparently the weightlifting doesn't affect the injury, and it's nice to see Kinsler so motivated to get back on the field. He is eligible to return from the DL on August 13th. No word yet on whether he'll make a rehab assignment.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 8/2, 7:43 PM CT
According to the Dallas Morning News, the Rangers have placed second baseman Ian Kinsler on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Our View: The move is retroactive to July 29th and Neftali Feliz will join the bullpen to take Kinsler's spot on the roster. Hopefully the talented young second baseman can mend his hammy quickly and get back to contributing in fantasy lineups.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 8/1, 5:15 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Ian Kinsler will miss another game Saturday while dealing with a strained left hamstring, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: The rising star will be missing his fourth straight game, and the earliest he could return is likely Monday. Keep him out of fantasy lineups until further notice.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 8/1, 8:24 AM CT
Ian Kinsler has missed three straight starts due to a strained left hamstring, and he remains day-to-day. "As soon as Kins tells us he's ready to go, he will get one more day," manager Ron Washington tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Our View: Washington's comments strongly suggest that Kinsler will remain out of the starting lineup on Saturday.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 7/31, 5:08 PM CT
Ian Kinsler remains out of the Rangers' lineup for tonight's game against Seattle, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: His strained hamstring is still bothering him, and was not deemed fit to return to the diamond. Omar Vizquel will cover second base in his absence.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 7/30, 4:28 PM CT
Updating a previous report, Rangers' second baseman Ian Kinsler is out of the team's lineup again for their Thursday night game against the Mariners, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Kinsler is still suffering from a strained left hamstring.

Our View: The team was hoping Kinsler would feel good enough to go tonight, but it looks like his hamstring is still sore. He shouldn't miss much more time, but check back tomorrow for an update on his status.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 7/30, 9:10 AM CT
Ian Kinsler, who missed the team's game on Wednesday with a strained left hamstring, is hopeful he'll be able to go today, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Kinsler is mired in a prolonged and profound funk, and is hitting just .242 after entering June at .279. If the Rangers can get his bat going again, look for them to make a serious run at Anaheim in the AL West down the stretch.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 7/22, 10:44 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Clay Buchholz in tonight's 3-1 win over the Red Sox at Rangers Ballpark.

Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 7/19, 11:27 PM CT
Ian Kinsler did most of the work for the Rangers' offense on Sunday in their 5-3 extra innings win over the Twins. Kinsler went 2-for-6 with two home runs, two runs scored, and three RBI in the win.

Our View: Kinsler launched a two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Rangers the victory. He now has 22 homers and 58 RBI on the season, and he has also managed to swipe 19 bases. He promises to keep putting up numbers in all of those categories as the season wears on.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 7/17, 5:05 PM CT
According to a report at MLBlogs.com, Rangers' manager Ron Washington plans to give infielder Ian Kinsler some time off during the second half of the season. Kinsler struggled at the end of the first half, hitting .138 in his last 14 games.

Our View: Washington feels he may have pushed Kinsler too hard in the first half, which may have accounted for his late struggles. Look for Kinsler to get periodic rest as the season goes on, and hopefully it will allow him to produce like he did early in the season.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 7/12, 12:07 AM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-4 with a double, and recorded the Rangers' lone RBI in tonight's 4-1 loss at Seattle.

Our View: The Rangers only mustered five hits in the game. Kinsler still leads the Rangers with 55 RBI, but is only hitting .135 (5-for-37) so far in July.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersMonday 7/6, 11:56 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer off Jered Weaver in tonight's 9-4 loss at the Angels.

Our View: Kinsler launched his first homer of July, and now co-leads the Rangers (with Nelson Cruz) with 20. He also paces the club with 53 RBI.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersTuesday 6/23, 11:34 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-5 with a single and an RBI in Tuesday's 8-2 loss at Arizona.

Our View: Kinsler collected his team-leading 49th RBI of the season. He remains on pace to top his career-high of 71 RBI, which he notched in 2008.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 6/21, 12:04 AM CT
Ian Kinsler provided all of the Rangers' offense on Saturday as they fell to the Giants 2-1 in 11 innings. Kinsler went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, his 18th of the year.

Our View: Kinsler has struggled a bit lately, but he is starting to show signs of returning to his early season form. Kinsler is still a top fantasy option, so keep him in the lineup going forward.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 6/17, 10:26 PM CT
Ian Kinsler was 2-for-4 with a double, two steals, two runs scored, and an RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 walkoff win over the Astros.

Our View: Kinsler has struggled badly after a scorching hot April. However, he has five hits, five runs scored, three RBI, and two home runs in just his last two games. Hopefully, that's a sign of things to come.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersTuesday 6/16, 9:54 PM CT
Ian Kinsler had a big night at the plate in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Astros at Rangers Ballpark, as he went 3-for-4 with two solo homers and a single.

Our View: Kinsler now tied Nelson Cruz for the team lead in home runs with 17. He also still leads with 46 RBI. He ended an eight-game skid without a homer.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersMonday 6/8, 3:26 PM CT
According to the Dallas Morning News, the Rangers have exercised the 2010 option on manager Ron Washington's contract. The Rangers have been in first place in the AL West for the last month, and the Rangers' front office believes Washington has a lot to do with that.

Our View: It would seem as if Washington deserves this, but in all actuality the team can still fire him if the Rangers start to struggle. This is a nice vote of confidence from the front office, and now Washington and his team have to live up to it.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 6/5, 9:57 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Friday's 5-1 win at Boston.

Our View: Kinsler extended his hitting streak to six games, with two homers and nine RBI over the span. He collected his 15th homer, and is five away from tying his career high of 20.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 6/4, 4:08 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run off Alfredo Aceves in Thursday's 8-6 loss at New York. Kinsler drew a walk and struck out twice.

Our View: Kinsler now has 14 homers, and is six away from tying his season-high of 20. He has a hit in five straight games.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 5/27, 11:24 PM CT
Ian Kinsler launched another home run on Wednesday, but it wasn't nearly enough as the Rangers fell to the Yankees 9-2. Kinsler was 1-for-4 in the game with the homer, a run scored, and two RBI.

Our View: Kinsler has delivered on his preseason hype, and he is the top second baseman in fantasy baseball right now. He hits for tremendous power, he steals bases, and his average is up at .282. It is unlikely you can get more than his value in a trade, so keep him in your lineup.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 5/23, 2:12 PM CT
Ian Kinsler is out of Saturday's lineup at Houston, according to the Star-Telegram.

Our View: Kinsler is not injured and he is just getting his first day off of the season. Omar Vizquel will start at second base in Kinsler's place.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 5/16, 12:10 AM CT
Ian Kinsler launched two more bombs on Friday as the Rangers beat the Angels 10-8. Kinsler was 2-for-3 on the night with three runs scored and three RBI.

Our View: This guy is a machine. He was highly rated before the season started, and he is living up to it. Kinsler is maybe the top option at second base right now, so don't move him under any circumstances.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 5/8, 11:45 PM CT
Ian Kinsler was 1-for-3 with two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in the Rangers' 6-0 win over the White Sox on Friday.

Our View: Kinsler can do it all, and he has been a gold mine for fantasy owners this season. A .325 average, nine homers, 27 RBI and eight steals makes him an absolute must start in every fantasy lineup.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 5/3, 10:35 PM CT
Ian Kinsler hit a lead off home run Sunday and was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the Rangers' 5-1 win over the White Sox.

Our View: Kinsler now has nine homers on the season and just seems to be the total package. He's hitting .337 with 18 extra-base hits and seven steals. There's nothing he can't do for a fantasy team and the fact that he plays second base make him even more luxurious. The MVP slipped away from him last year because of a late injury, but he's making another run at it early in 2009.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 5/2, 12:52 AM CT
Ian Kinsler hit another home run on Friday, but the Rangers fell to the White Sox 4-3. Kinsler now has eight homers on the season.

Our View: Kinsler has lived up to the preseason fantasy hype, and he is producing in every fantasy category. He is the best second baseman in fantasy baseball, and his numbers should continue to be impressive all season.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 4/25, 9:08 PM CT
Ian Kinsler was 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, and two runs scored as the Rangers beat the Orioles 6-5 on Saturday.

Our View: Kinsler simply cannot be denied right now. At least not over the course of an entire game. Kinsler did strike out twice tonight, bringing his total to 16 on the season. Regardless, he has still managed to be a top three fantasy hitter through 17 games this season.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersTuesday 4/21, 9:21 PM CT
Ian Kinsler connected for his fifth home run of the season as the Rangers beat Roy Halladay and the Blue Jays on Tuesday. It was his only hit in three at bats.

Our View: Kinsler continues to be the best fantasy player early on in the season. While we don't expect him to be at the top of the heap by the end of the season, he should certainly push to take over Chase Utley as premier second baseman.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 4/19, 6:10 PM CT
Ian Kinsler was 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two stolen bases, two runs scored, and an RBI as the Rangers beat the Royals 6-5 on Sunday.

Our View: Kinsler has been as good as any player to start the season. He currently carries a .518 OBP and .880 slugging percentage to go with his six stolen bases.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 4/15, 11:17 PM CT
Ian Kinsler erupted on Wednesday in the Rangers 19-6 destruction of the Orioles. He hit for the cycle, going 6-for-6 with five runs scored and four RBI.

Our View: This seems to be a running trend with these two teams. The Rangers put a 30-spot on the O's last year and love to feast on their pitching. Kinsler exploited them the most on Wednesday. He's now hitting an obscene .474 on the season with 13 RBI.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 4/9, 6:29 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 3-for-5 and two runs scored and three RBI in Texas' 12-8 win over Cleveland on Thursday.

Our View: Whatever slump Kinsler ran into during the latter stages of spring training seems to have subsided. He's 7-for- 14 this season with a home run and six RBI in three games this season.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 4/1, 5:53 PM CT
Ian Kinsler was 0-for-4 on Wednesday with two strikeouts. His spring average dipped to .319.

Our View: He was hitting well over .400 a couple weeks ago, but has fallen into a deep slump and his average has dropped 100 points. He's still an elite second baseman and should be fine once the season starts. Just look at this as him getting his slump out of the way early.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 3/18, 6:28 PM CT
Ian Kinsler was 3-for-3 with two runs scored on Wednesday, raising his average to .417.

Our View: Kinsler just keeps on going. His spring performance only solidifies his position near the top of fantasy draft boards. At this point, he has to be considered a legit first-round pick. Let's just hope he can stay healthy.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersTuesday 3/17, 8:08 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's contest against the Indians.

Our View: The bruised foot he suffered last week doesn't appear to be an issue and the hernia concerns are long gone. Kinsler is hitting .364 this spring and showing why he will be one of the top-2 second basemen selected on draft day.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 3/13, 3:47 PM CT
Ian Kinsler was scratched from Friday's lineup due to a bruised left foot, according to the Dallas Morning News. He fouled a ball off the foot in Thursday's contest, but should be available to play Sunday.

Our View: This shouldn't be anything to worry about. The sports hernia concerns from last year are long gone and Kinsler, who is producing already this spring, should be the one of the top-two second sackers selected on draft day.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 3/12, 11:19 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs against Seattle on Thursday.

Our View: He's hitting .357 (10-for-28) in spring thus far and has done nothing to change the mindset that he should be one of the top-two second baseman selected and draw consideration at the end of the first round of most drafts.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 3/5, 6:10 PM CT
Ian Kinsler had a very nice game for the Rangers on Thursday, going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a double. He scored a pair of runs and also helped to turn a double play in the field.

Our View: Kinsler should be one of the top second baseman on your draft board along with Chase Utley.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 2/25, 6:13 PM CT
Ian Kinsler looked good on Wednesday after coming off of sports hernia surgery, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Our View: Kinsler was having an incredible season in 2008 before going down with his injury. If he can stay healthy in 2009, he should be the top second baseman in the majors for fantasy purposes, especially hitting in the Rangers' hitter friendly park.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 1/10, 1:13 PM CT
Ian Kinsler tells the Fort Worth Star Telegram that he is fully recovered from his sports hernia surgery.

Our View: Kinsler will put any worries behind him once he gets into the flow this spring, but we're not too concerned about lingering issues. He is a contender for the top spot among fantasy second basemen for 2009.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 9/11, 6:16 PM CT
Ian Kinsler's season is over due to his sports hernia, and on Thursday he had successful surgery to repair the injury, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Kinsler should be back to working out in eight weeks with little reason to believe that the injury will linger on into next season.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersThursday 9/4, 5:13 PM CT
Ian Kinsler had hoped to return next week to the playing field, but instead he will undergo surgery for his sports hernia thereby ending his 2008 season, according to the Dallas Morning News. "The doctor said the progress I was making just wasn't significant enough and if you don't have surgery for this, it's something you are always going to be dealing with," Kinsler said. "It's the only option."

Our View: Kinsler will have the surgery on September 11th, a rather unsatisfactory ending to what was shaping up to be a truly historic season. Kinsler finishes the year hitting .319-18-71-102-26, a truly spectacular performance. However, this is the third straight year in which the second baseman has missed at least a month of action. He should be fine by the start of next year as the typical recovery time for this procedure is two months. Joaquin Arias figures to fill in at second base.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSunday 8/31, 8:15 AM CT
Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler has only hit off a tee, has not taken any ground balls or even run hard, and is not close to returning to the team as his sports hernia is slow to heal, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Our View: Kinsler would not be back until September 9 at the earliest, but that seems highly unlikely. Fantasy owners with Kinsler on their roster may want to cut bait and try to find someone else for the rest of the year.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersWednesday 8/27, 9:19 AM CT
There is a possibility that Rangers second baseman could miss the rest of the season, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Kinsler will attempt to take batting practice and do some running this week, but should that not go well, it is likely he will shut it down the remainder of the year.

Our View: That would be a disappointment to fantasy owners, as he was having a superb season, hitting for average and power while also stealing bases.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersSaturday 8/23, 12:52 PM CT
Ian Kinsler, who is dealing with a sports hernia, is targeting September 5 for his return to the Rangers' lineup, according to the Dallas Morning News. This is favorable news, but fantasy owners should not get too excited as Kinsler said, "I’ll be smart about it. I want to play the last month, but we’ll see."

Our View: Kinsler should remain held on fantasy rosters, but there is still the possibility he won't return with just a handful of weeks left in the regular season.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersTuesday 8/19, 5:20 PM CT
Ian Kinsler has delayed his surgery on a sports hernia for weeks, the Dallas Morning News reports. The second baseman admits he's not even sure if it is a sports hernia. A doctor did confirm that there are no torn muscles or ligaments in his groin area.

Our View: Fantasy owners who can place Kinsler in a DL spot or have enough bench room should be patient with the infielder. If you're strapped for roster space in a mixed league, though, you might still send Kinsler packing. There are only five weeks left in the season.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersMonday 8/18, 5:56 PM CT
An MRI Monday revealed that Ian Kinsler has a sports hernia, and it's possible his season could be over, according to the Star-Telegram. Kinsler has been placed on the DL, and his roster spot will be filled by Joaquin Arias.

Our View: Obviously this is a huge blow to the Rangers and fantasy owners alike. Ramon Vazquez figures to see the bulk of the playing time at second.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersMonday 8/18, 1:08 PM CT
Ian Kinsler is considered day-to-day with his sore groin, according to the Star-Telegram.

Our View: Kinsler has been riding an eight-game hitting streak, with four homers over the span, and it took a groin ailment to slow him down. We will keep you posted regarding his playing status through the week.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersTuesday 8/12, 10:33 PM CT
The Rangers took the fall but blame can't be put on the leadoff man, second baseman Ian Kinsler. Kinsler went 2-for-5 at the dish, hitting hish 40th double and 16th homer of the season to post four RBIs and two runs scored.

Our View: Kinsler was hitting just .250 for the month of August coming in, but his two homers in two games with seven combined RBIs looks great.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas RangersFriday 8/8, 7:08 PM CT
Ian Kinsler, hitting just .202 since the All-Star break, was given the night off on Friday, according to MLB.com. "I just thought it was time," manager Ron Washington said. "He's been going at it right from the break, and I just felt he needed a mental break. He looks like he's moving a little slow."

Our View: Kinsler's average has fallen from .337 to .313, but in truth a correction was likely to happen given his previously high BABIP (the mark still sits at .337). Still, it's tough to complain when a guy is leading the league in runs (94) and hits (151).
