Rafael Perez, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 8/7, 4:18 PM CT
Rafael Perez has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus by the Indians, according to the Associated Press. The club brought him up him after dealing Carl Pavano to the Twins.

Our View: Perez holds a dismal 8.88 ERA and 2.17 WHIP over 25.1 innings of relief this season, and does not merit fantasy attention outside of the deepest of leagues.

Rafael Perez has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus by the Indians, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Aaron Laffey is set to come off the DL to start Wednesday's game at Chicago, and Perez was sent down to make room on the roster.

Our View: Perez was unable to protect his job in the Indians' bullpen with a terrible 8.88 ERA over 25.1 innings of relief. Opposing batters were hitting .359 against him, and he won't be missed in fantasy leagues while working in the minors.
Rafael Perez, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 5/29, 12:20 PM CT
The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that the Indians have recalled reliever Rafael Perez from Triple-A Columbus. In a corresponding move, the team has designated David Dellucci for assignment.

Our View: Perez has been lights out since being sent to Triple-A, so he will get another chance in the Indians' bullpen. Although he was atrocious early this season, he looks to have figured it out and he should be a solid left-handed reliever for the Tribe.

MLBlogs.com is reporting that Rafael Perez is expected to be recalled very soon. Perez has not allowed a run since being sent down to Triple-A, and manager Eric Wedge believes it is only a matter of time before he returns.

Our View: Perez was awful with the Indians this season before he was sent down, but it looks like he may have things figured out. He was excellent last season in the bullpen, and if he truly does have things back in order he could garner some fantasy interest. He is not a guy you should rush and pick up, however.
Rafael Perez, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 5/6, 4:43 PM CT
Rafael Perez has been demoted to Triple-A as the Indians have recalled Matt Herges to take his roster spot, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Perez dominated last season with 86 K and a 1.18 WHIP in 76.1 innings, but things have been brutally awful for the lefty this season (15.19 ERA, 2.63 WHIP in 10.2 IP). He will be recalled when he rediscovers his lost control, but he is clearly so far out of the mix in the bullpen that he is only worthy of being rostered in deep AL-only leagues.
Rafael Perez, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 4/21, 7:18 PM CT
MLB.com reports that the Indians plan to use Rafael Perez less as he is currently struggling. The team will have him throw some side sessions with the hope that he will gain command and confidence in his slider.

Our View: The southpaw has an embarassing 16.71 ERA through seven innings of work this season. He has been a pretty reliable option out of the bullpen in the past and he was supposed to help setup Kerry Wood for save chances this season. As of now, it appears he has lost that role.
Rafael Perez, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 4/20, 7:19 PM CT
Rafael Perez took the Sunday loss in relief of Paul Byrd's best start of the young season. The Cleveland bats are in a funk, and the defending AL Central champions have lost eight of their past 11 games. Perez gave up one run on four hits, walked one and struck out one in two innings of work.

Our View: This was the left-handers ninth appearance of the young season. The loss was his first and the run allowed raised actually lowered his ERA to 5.19.
