Shawn Camp, P, Toronto Blue JaysSaturday 2/7, 9:16 AM CT
The Sports Network reports that the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a one-year, $750,000 deal with relief pitcher Shawn Camp. The deal means the two parties avoid going to arbitration.

Our View: Camp, who posted a 4.12 ERA a last season, was especially effective against right-handed batters, holding them to a .204 average.

Shawn Camp is expected to join the Blue Jays bullpen on Saturday after being recalled to the majors from Triple-A Syracuse, this according to MLB.com.

Our View: Camp has ridden his new changeup to solid success with a 3.00 ERA in 12 innings in training camp. In the minors he went 10 innings without allowing a run, and now he will call Toronto his home, though his value will be limited as he won't be in the mix to pick up saves when B.J. Ryan is unavailable.

Shawn Camp, a 32-old relief pitcher who spent the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, agreed to a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, with an invitation to spring training. Camp was 0-3 with a 7.20 ERA in 50 appearances last season.
