Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 10/12, 8:06 AM CT
Huston Street was unable to keep the Phillies from taking the lead in a tie game when he took the mound in the ninth inning on Sunday night. The Rockies closer allowed a walk, two hits, and a sacrifice fly before recording his third out.

Our View: Street was one of the more reliable closer's of 2009 as he only had one regular season loss. However, he was unable to navigate the top of the Phillies potent batting order in the most crucial inning of the year.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 10/6, 7:51 PM CT
The Rockies have reportedly told Huston Street that they will discuss a new multi-year deal with him following the season, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: The source believes it would take a three-year deal in the $25MM-range to get negotiations started. He could help his cause with a solid showing in the postseason, which starts with the Phillies in the NLDS.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 9/16, 8:17 PM CT
Huston Street (biceps tendinitis) will likely rejoin the Rockies bullpen this Sunday, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: The news comes after Street threw a successful bullpen session on Wednesday. He has been made aware that he might immediately regain the team's closing job, however, with Franklin Morales thriving in the role. Street will almost assuredly be their closer by the time the playoffs arrive, though.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 9/9, 5:06 PM CT
Huston Street will likely still be unavailable to close through at least this weekend, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: He is still battling right biceps tendinitis. With Franklin Morales not allowing a run in five appearances in Steet's absence, the team has no need to rush him back.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 9/3, 8:13 AM CT
Huston Street was unavailable on Wednesday due to biceps tendinitis, and will likely remain so for the rest of the week, if not longer, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: A bad break for the wild card leading Rockies. Franklin Morales and Rafael Betancourt will both be in the mix for saves while he is out.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 7/6, 10:19 PM CT
Huston Street pitched a perfect ninth inning against Washington on Monday to preserve Colorado's 1-0 win and notch his 20th save of the season.

Our View: Street has widdled his ERA all the way down to 2.72 after it was on the wrong side of six entering May and he's blown just one of his 21 save chances this season. The way the Rockies are winning, combined with how effective he's been, should result in Street being one of the better overall fantasy closers going forward.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 6/18, 5:07 PM CT
After allowing hits to the first two Rays he faced on Thursday, Huston Street eventually nailed down his 15th save of the season despite allowing two earned runs. The Rockies won 4-3.

Our View: Street has allowed three earned runs in June. He is an excellent option at closer in every format, just be cognizant of the fact that he may get traded to a team where he will not be the closer.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 6/15, 1:38 PM CT
Huston Street has been named co-NL player of the week for the week ending June 14 according to The Sports Network.

Our View: The coveted reliever converted all five of his save opportunities for the week while the Rockies went 7-0.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 6/15, 11:27 AM CT
The L.A. Times reports that the Angels have talked to the Rockies about acquiring Huston Street and Brad Hawpe.

Our View: Street has 13 saves for the Rockies this season including a recent stretch of five saves in six days. It's not certain how he would be used in connection with Brian Fuentes in the Angels bullpen, but there's no question the Angels could use another strong arm on their pitching staff. The Yankees have also been linked to Street.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 6/12, 11:20 AM CT
FoxSports.com is reporting that the Yankees' have expressed interest in Rockies' reliever Huston Street. Street has been very successful as the Rockies' closer, but the Yankees need bullpen help and could look to trade for him before the deadline.

Our View: With the Rockies' getting hot all of a sudden, it seems unlikely that they would be willing to trade Street this early. If they Yanks want him that bad, they may have to wait until the end of July to get him. Since the team is looking for help now, it seems more likely that they go after someone else to be their new setup man. This could be something to keep an eye on for Street owners, however, as a move to the Yankees would significantly hurt his fantasy value.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 6/11, 6:04 PM CT
Pitching for the fourth consecutive game on Thursday, Huston Street gave up a three-run home run to Milwaukee's Ryan Braun in the ninth inning of the Rockies 5-4 victory. Only one of those runs was earned however, and he still managed to earn his 12th save of the season.

Our View: After a terrible start in 2009, Street has been excellent, allowing only two home runs and two earned runs since May 4. He has become a solid option at closer in any format.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 6/10, 10:47 PM CT
Huston Street struck out the side as to earn his eleventh save of the season in the Rockies 4-2 win over the Brewers on Wednesday. He did not allow a base runner in the outing.

Our View: Street has allowed just one earned run since April 24. Don't count...that's 19 outings. He has allowed only seven hits in that span and dropped his ERA nearly six runs since then.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 5/23, 11:32 PM CT
Huston Street picked up his sixth save of the season against Detroit on Saturday, failing to give up a run or hit with two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Street has now gone 11 appearances without giving up a run and, while he does have a loss, is a perfect 6-of-6 on save chances this season.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 5/15, 9:29 PM CT
Huston Street shut the door in the ninth for the Rockies on Friday as he struck out the side for his fifth save of the year.

Our View: Street has established himself as the Rockies' closer, and he should be owned in all leagues at this point. He has the stuff to be a dominant closer, but until he puts it all together he is just an average closer.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 5/10, 6:12 PM CT
Huston Street picked up his fourth save of the season in Colorado's 3-2 win over the Marlins. He allowed on hit and struck out another.

Our View: Street has not allowed a run in his last seven appearances. He appears to have a firm grasp on the closer's job in Denver, but he has endured his fair share of struggles over the past year. As he racks up the saves, you may want to consider selling high.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 4/29, 5:13 PM CT
The Rockies used Huston Street to close out the Padres in the ninth inning of Wednesday's 7-5 win. He struck out all three hitters he faced.

Our View: This was Street's first save since the first week of the season. Manny Corpas has been closing games for the Rockies, but he took the loss in last night's game. Street looked sharp today and it appears he will get some more turns in the ninth inning going forward.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 4/17, 8:32 PM CT
The Rockies have removed pitcher Huston Street from the closer's role and moved Manuel Corpas over to ninth-inning duty, the Denver Post notes. Street may be moved even lower in the order than eighth-inning work. Manager Clint Hurdle says he will use "who's the best fit at the time" as his setup man.

Our View: Street has been awful through four outings, but it's only four appearances and he says his stuff hasn't been as off as the stats suggest. Fantasy owners in NL-only leagues shouldn't dump Huston yet, but he is no longer usable in mixed formats.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 4/12, 5:51 PM CT
Huston Street took the loss on Sunday as he entered a tied game in the ninth inning against the Phillies. He gave up two hits, one being a two-run shot to Matt Stairs.

Our View: If there's any good news to come from this it's that Manny Corpas blew the game in the first place as he allowed the Phillies two runs in the eighth inning. Both pitchers got some work in on Saturday when the Rockies lost, and perhaps the manager will learn his lesson. His two best relievers should be reserved for games in which they are winning.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 4/2, 10:34 AM CT
Huston Street has reportedly edged Manny Corpas for the closer's role in Colorado, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Street has allowed just one run over his last nine spring appearances. His velocity has been down in recent years, he's now pitching in Colorado and will have Corpas breathing down his neck, so obviously there are safer closer options out there.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 3/27, 8:39 AM CT
Huston Street has been making a late push for the closer's role to enter the season in Colorado, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: "We are going to give it as long a look as we need to, and see what we need to see in order to make the best decision," manager Clint Hurdle said. Hurdle also stated that the decision regarding who he'll choose to close should be made within the next couple days and that he intends to stick with just one closer once the decision is made. Manny Corpas has been solid with a 1.29 ERA this spring and probably remains a bit ahead of Street. Still, Street, who struggled initially in spring, has allowed just one run in his past six innings, so he still has a shot at the job. Stay tuned.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 3/16, 6:54 PM CT
Huston Street threw two scoreless innings against the Diamondbacks on Monday while allowing no hits, no walks, and striking out two.

Our View: Street had been roughed up for six runs in 2.1 innings of work prior to today's outing. He is battling with Manny Corpas for the closing job in Colorado, but Corpas has had the decidedly better spring to date.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 3/6, 10:37 PM CT
Huston Street did little Friday to state his case for being the Rockies' closer in 2009, allowing five runs on three hits in just a third of an inning.

Our View: Granted, one bad outing by Street won't automatically cost him the closer role. But since his main competitor, Manny Corpas, didn't pitch Friday, expect management to give him a look this weekend in an effort create some distance between the two.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 2/17, 7:19 AM CT
Huston Street is gearing up to compete for the closer's role in Colorado, according to the Rocky Mountain News. He will be battling Manny Corpas for the job, and Street said, "I think competition is great. It is about earning the opportunity. There is nothing wrong with that. The Colorado Rockies are going to be better served if we have the Manny Corpas of 2007 and if I pitch like I did my first two years. When Manny is out there, I am going to be pulling for him to be successful, and I expect Manny to be pulling for me. We are teammates. We have the same goal - winning."

Our View: The loser in the race will serve as the setup man. Street's velocity has been slipping, which is likely part of the reason Oakland let him go. He also issued more walks than usual in 2008, and Corpas seems more likely to win the ninth-inning role.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 1/19, 12:14 PM CT
Huston Street has inked a one-year deal with the Rockies worth $4.5 million, according to ESPN. The deal includes All-Star and performance bonuses.

Our View: This is Street's second year of arbitration eligibility, and the right-handed reliever can't become a free agent until after the 2010 campaign. He is expected to compete with Manny Corpas for the closer's role in 2009.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 12/10, 1:01 PM CT
The Mets landed prized free agent closer Francisco Rodriguez, but reportedly still have interest in the Rockies' Huston Street, according to Sports Illustrated.

Our View: The Mets are seemingly working on adding a strong setup man to complement their new record-setting closer. The only wrench in the deal to acquire Street is that Colorado wants Jon Niese, who the Mets do not want to part with.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 12/8, 5:14 PM CT
Any team who is looking to acquire Huston Street from the Colorado Rockies will have to pony up, as the team is looking for a lot in return, MLB.com reports.

Our View: Manny Corpas is expected to close for Colorado next year, making Street a setup man. Clearly, should he be dealt and labeled a closer, his fantasy value immediately would rise.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 12/2, 1:07 PM CT
The Yankees may be interested in trading for Huston Street of the Rockies, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Street would be a strong setup man for the Yankees, but it is uncertain what the Yankees would have to give up to acquire him.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 11/26, 7:34 AM CT
The Mets offered Aaron Heilman in a trade for reliever Huston Street, but the Rockies shot down the deal after the Mets also asked for Pedro Feliciano, according to the Hot Stove Blog on MLB.com.

Our View: If the Mets did acquire Street, they would still likely pursue closers Francisco Rodriguez or Brian Fuentes, moving Street to a setup role.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 11/23, 12:04 PM CT
The Mets are reportedly interested in trading for Huston Street of the Rockies, according to NYBaseballDigest.com.

Our View: The Mets would like to use Street as a setup man, with the assumption they will land either Francisco Rodriguez or Brian Fuentes to be their closer. Aaron Heilman would be expected to be part of a trade with the Rockies, who wanted Heilman to be part of their rotation since 2006.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 11/20, 4:49 PM CT
The Cleveland Indians are said to have some interest in Huston Street if the Rockies lower their asking price for the one-time closer, according to Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

Our View: The Rockies acquired Street in the Matt Holliday deal, and now they are listening to offers for him. The Indians are looking for a closer and Street does have 94 saves in four years.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 11/19, 9:03 AM CT
Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that the Rockies will listen to offers for newly acquired reliever Huston Street.

Our View: Street recently spoke with Colorado's team management, and stated that he expects to be with the Rockies in 2009, instead of being traded. We will keep you posted on the situation. Manny Corpas would be the top candidate to close games if Street is dealt.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 11/13, 8:32 AM CT
Reliever Huston Street said he spoke with Colorado's team management, and that he expects to be with the Rockies next season instead of being traded, as had been rumored, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Street will likely be competing for the closer's job with Manny Corpas, but don't be shocked if both are called on at some point next season, as shutting the door in Coors Field is never an easy task.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 11/12, 11:33 AM CT
Huston Street has officially been dealt from the Athletics to the Rockies as part of the blockbuster trade involving Matt Holliday, according to the Associated Press. Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and pitcher Greg Smith were also shipped to Colorado.

Our View: Street will be the top candidate to replace Brian Fuentes as the Rockies' closer, who is expected to depart in free agency. Street will likely give up more homers this season while leaving a pitcher's ballpark for launching pad Coors Field, but will surely get more save opportunities by working for a better team.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 11/11, 5:21 PM CT
The Twins could be interested in Huston Street should the Rockies decide to flip him to another team, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View: Obviously Joe Nathan would remain the closer if this happens, but with Pat Neshek out for the year, the team could use some setup help. The Twins are also known to be interested in Garrett Atkins, so perhaps the two teams could make a multi-player deal.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 11/11, 11:56 AM CT
Numerous reports suggest the Rockies will look to trade reliever Huston Street, MLB.com reports. The club is putting the finalizing touches on acquiring the 2005 AL Rookie of the Year as part of the Matt Holliday deal.

Our View: That's good news for Manny Corpas, if true. The Rockies are likely also pursuing talks regarding Garrett Atkins. This club could have a lot of new faces before this winter is out.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 11/10, 4:17 PM CT
Huston Street is believed to be going to Colorado as part of a Matt Holliday trade, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View: If he were to land in Colorado, he would likely battle Manny Corpas for the closer's job. Street gave up six home runs in 70 innings last season. He also recorded 18 saves prior to losing the closer's role.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 11/5, 10:17 AM CT
Huston Street is on the Indians' radar, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: The Indians consider Jensen Lewis and left-hander Rafael Perez their best internal options at closer, but would like to acquire a closer and move Lewis and Perez back into setup roles, which would strengthen the bullpen. The team is also interested in other top free agents, such as Kerry Wood and Brian Fuentes.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 9/16, 1:34 PM CT
A's reliever Huston Street was involved in a shouting match with manager Bob Geren, but he has since apologized to him and his teammates, according to OaklandAthletics.com.

Our View: Street is not been happy that he has not been given the job of closer back after he began throwing better, and the situation came to a head. Street remains a setup man, and thus his fantasy value is not high.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 9/1, 8:42 AM CT
A's reliever Huston Street would like to regain his former role as closer, but Oakland manager Bob Geren said that will not happen, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View: Street has been much better lately, but the A's are happy with Brad Ziegler in the role, so do not expect Street to pick up any saves for your fantasy team down the stretch.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 8/8, 6:48 PM CT
Huston Street has been claimed by multiple teams, but no deal has been worked out nor will one be, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: Oakland did engage in discussions with the team that was awarded Street, but nothing was able to be worked out. Therefore, look for Street to remain with the A's and to remain their closer for the time being despite his recent struggles.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 8/5, 8:54 PM CT
Closer Huston Street blew his sixth save of the season on Tuesday night. He allowed three hits and two runs in ninth inning against the Blue Jays. Street has allowed seven runs and walked seven batters over his last eight appearances.

Our View: There have already been hints that Street could lose all or part of his closer's role, and he is not helping his own cause. Fantasy owners can't help but be worried.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 7/31, 11:18 AM CT
The A's have been talking to teams about dealing Huston Street, but a source told ESPN's Buster Olney that the chances of the A's making another deal today are at "about 1 percent."

Our View: Justin Duchscherer's names has also come up in trade talks.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/30, 6:13 PM CT
Huston Street picked up his fourth loss of the year on Wednesday after allowing two hits and two walks in 1.2 innings leading to a single earned run.

Our View: Was this the last game for Street in an Oakland uniform? Street's numbers are down this year with a 4.05 ERA and a 8.68 K/9 mark, but that hasn't stopped many teams from being interested in adding Sheets to their bullpen mix.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/30, 7:03 AM CT
Huston Street is unsure if he will be traded, but commented, "I said awhile ago I don't want to be traded. Billy Beane said all along it'll take a deal to knock his socks off for me to get traded, and that's where we stand right now. I'm very comfortable with that because I like it here." This according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View: Street's trade value will be high, and he threw two perfect innings in each of his last two trips to the hill.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/23, 7:05 AM CT
The SF Chronicle indicates that Huston Street is on the Reds' radar.

Our View: The source also believes the Mets may take a shot at him prior to the trade deadline. Either way, Street looks to be leaving Oakland, assuming a favorable deal is presented.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 7/22, 7:18 AM CT
Huston Street is believed to be on the Dodgers' radar, according to the SF Chronicle. The Dodgers are without closer Takashi Saito for at least six weeks, and the club designated a scout to watch Street during Oakland's series with Tampa Bay.

Our View: Street would hold solid fantasy value with the Dodgers if he was dealt right now and moved into the closers role, but it remains to be seen what the Dodgers would do with Street and Jonathan Broxton if Saito is able to make it back to the mound late in the year.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 7/20, 11:28 AM CT
Sports Illustrated indicates that the White Sox and Brewers have inquired about Oakland closer Huston Street.

Our View: The Brewers interest in no surprise, but Chicago's interest is a bit puzzling as they have one of the most effective bullpens in the league this season, and an elite closer with Bobby Jenks. Perhaps the club wants insurance for Jenks, who recently came off the DL following a bout with painful shoulder bursitis.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 7/13, 6:36 PM CT
Huston Street blew his fourth save in 21 chances and the Los Angeles Angels won their 57th game in a 4-3 victory over the A's on Sunday afternoon.

Our View: A combination of seeing-eye ground balls saw Street allow two runs on three hits earning the right-hander his third loss of the season.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 7/13, 2:26 PM CT
Huston Street has been a name coming up recently in talks that he will head to the Tampa Rays, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.com.

Our View: Street could take over for Troy Percival as closer if this move happens, diminishing Percival's standing in fantasy leagues. Street would remain valuable and may even gain value because he could get more save opportunities on one of the best teams in baseball.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 7/10, 6:46 PM CT
Huston Street pitched two scoreless innings on Thursday to even his record at 2-2 for the Athletics.

Our View: Street has a less than ideal ERA of 3.60, but he has struck out over a batter per inning (42 K in 40) while posting a 1.03 WHIP as he continues to be one of the more effective closers in the American League.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 7/8, 12:08 AM CT
Huston Street had to work for it, but the right-hander earned his 17th save of the season in a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night.

Our View: Houston continues to work on his large ERA which has now dropped to 3.79 in 35 appearances.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 7/3, 11:11 PM CT
Huston Street allowed one hit, but struck out three, recording his 16th save of the season as the A's defeated the White Sox 3-2 on Thursday night.

Our View: Street dropped his ERA below four runs (3.89) for the first time since April and now has 41 strike outs in 36 innings of work.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 6/21, 11:06 PM CT
Huston Street blew a save for the second straight night Saturday, allowing a bases-clearing double to Dan Uggla in a 6-4 loss.

Our View: Street's ERA now sits at 4.32, and he has just one save this month.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 6/11, 12:13 PM CT
Manager Bob Geren said Huston Street was a game-time decision for last night's loss to the Yankees due to the closer's wonky groin. Street wasn't needed Tuesday, but he is likely to be a game-time decision again tonight, according to MLB.com. A team source said Street has been dealing with the ailment since June 1.

Our View: If Street is unable to go, Alan Embree or Keith Foulke would likely get the save chance, since both Santiago Casilla and Joey Devine are on the DL.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 6/10, 8:11 AM CT
Huston Street's pitching velocity was down during action on Sunday as he was bothered by a groin injury, according to the SF Chronicle. He heavily iced the ailment, but still walked with a limp following the game. He said, "Hopefully, I'll wake up Monday better. Geren was concerned for my sake, because I could compensate and hurt my arm, but I know I can still get guys out and be effective."

Our View: He was unsteady on the mound, but still left the ninth inning scoreless. His fastball normally hit 89-93 mph, but was down to 85 on Sunday. Street doesn't believe the ailment is serious, but the team is yet to decide if a trip to the DL is in order.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 5/26, 9:34 PM CT
It's been a while since Huston Street received face time, in the news, and on the pitching mound. Street earned his 10th and 11th saves this past weekend, both against the World Champion Boston Red Sox.

Our View: Street recorded eight saves in April but has had only four chances in May; two of those coming in the last three days.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 5/17, 10:37 PM CT
The Braves rallied from a 5-1 deficit with three runs in the ninth off Huston Street, who came into the game in a non-save situation. Street allowed three runs on three hits, didn't allow a walk and struck out one.

Our View: Street's ERA went from 3.63 to 4.91 in the effort.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 5/4, 7:02 PM CT
Huston Street picked up his ninth save by tossing a scoreless inning against the Rangers on Sunday. The closer has allowed only one run over his last 10 appearances (10.2 innings).

Our View: Street was roughed up early in the year, but he has since reminded everyone that he's a darn good stopper.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 4/28, 4:51 PM CT
Huston Street has converted eight saves in nine opportunities so far this year, and while he hasn't always thrown a clean ninth inning, and his statline (4.38 ERA, 1.22 WHIP with a home run rate of over two per nine innings) is ugly, his save total should continue to grow while his numbers shrink.

Our View: Street is a dominant closer and his numbers will reflect such, as long as he can stay healthy.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 4/27, 6:57 PM CT
Huston Street pitched the ninth inning of Sunday's win over Seattle for his eighth save in nine opportunities.

Our View: He also got the save Friday night as Oakland took two of three from Seattle this weekend. After a slow start to the season Street is closing out April strong.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 4/19, 6:50 PM CT
Huston Street earned his fifth save on Saturday though he did allow a run on two hits.

Our View: Stree has appeared in eight games this season, and he has been scored upon in four of those outings leading to a 5.79 ERA. His arm appears sound, and reports are positive, but he just hasn't been making his pitch at some important times.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 4/2, 6:15 PM CT
Huston Street continues to frustrate fans and fantasy owners, putting another lackluster performance on the field in Oakland's 0-5 loss to the Boston Red Sox. Street allowed a home run in his only inning of work with all three of his outs coming on fly balls. For Street, that's two homers surrendered in 2 2/3 innings, and you can hear the cry of fantasy owners across the globe as the search for a reliable AL closer continues.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 3/25, 10:13 AM CT
Huston Street blew a save opportunity in Oakland's season opening loss to Boston (6-5). He surrendered three runs on three hits over 1.2 innings of work, with the back breaker coming on a Brandon Moss solo homer in the ninth inning. His record sits at 0-1 with a 16.20 ERA and may register a smaller blip on the Tigers' radar now, who were reportedly interested in acquiring him.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 3/23, 11:07 AM CT
Huston Street could be on the Tigers' radar, according to the Newark Star Ledger. The Tigers are in dire need for bullpen help right now, and have reportedly had extensive talks to Oakland about Street. This is speculation and the Athletics would likely have a high asking price for Street.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 1/18, 10:46 AM CT
Huston Street avoided arbitration with the A's on Thursday by signing a one-year contract worth $3.3 million. Street posted a 2.88 ERA and 16 saves in 48 games last year. He has the potential to be one of the top closers in the game, but staying healthy has long been an issue.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 8/16, 12:20 AM CT
Huston Street earned his first save since early May Wednesday night, striking out the side against Chicago. Just as significant for Street owners - Alan Embree worked the eighth in this victory, and also allowed a couple of runs. In short, it looks like the closing baton will likely go back to Street now.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 7/28, 8:36 AM CT
Huston Street said yesterday that the soreness he felt earlier this week was just general arm fatigue and not related to the elbow injury from which he just returned, according to the Contra Costa Times. Street will have to make a few more appearances without having any physical problems before he resumes his role as closer.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 7/26, 11:04 AM CT
Huston Street has had some soreness in his right elbow since his appearance Monday. Manager Bob Geren downplayed it though, saying Street would have been available in an "emergency only" situation Wednesday, according to the Mercury News. Street missed 63 games because of irritation in his right elbow, so, despite Geren's comments, you have to at least be a little worried about the right-hander.
Huston Street, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 7/23, 9:25 PM CT
Huston Street was activated Monday by the A's after missing 63 games because of irritation in his right ulnar nerve, according to the AP. Manager Bob Geren said Street would be eased back into the pitching mix, with Alan Embree continuing to close. "I plan to use Huston the first few games in kind of a sixth-, seventh-, eighth-inning type of role until he gets a few innings under his belt," Geren said "Ideally, I'd like to get him back into the closer role, but he's pitched one inning in seven or eight weeks."

Our View: Easing him back into the closer's role is a good thing considering his health issues the past two seasons.
