Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 2/14, 9:48 PM CT
The Twins are expected to go with Scott Baker as their opening day starting pitcher, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: Minnesota said he earned the nod by finishing the 2009 campaign strong, and consider him to be among the best hurlers in the AL. Baker won a career-high 15 games last season, and should make a solid fantasy starter for 2010.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 10/4, 10:27 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Scott Baker will get the start for the Twins in their one-game playoff against the Tigers on Tuesday.

Our View: Baker was the hero for the Twins last Thursday in a do-or-die game against Detroit that Minnesota won 8-3, so he's no stranger to this type of pressure. He'll look to repeat that effort and get the Twins back to the postseason for one more season while being housed in the Metrodome.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 10/1, 3:43 PM CT
Scott Baker came through when he team needed him on Thursday as the Twins stayed alive in the playoff hunt with an 8-3 win over the Tigers. Baker went five innings and allowed one unearned run on five hits while walking three and striking out three.

Our View: The Twins needed this one to stay alive, and Baker came to play today. They are still a long shot to get in the postseason, but at least Baker gave them a chance. He will finish the season with 15 wins, and his 4.36 ERA is also a nice number.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 9/26, 10:59 PM CT
Scott Baker wasn't at his best on Saturday, but his offense pushed him to win number 14 with an 11-6 victory over the Royals.

Our View: Baker allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over 6.1 innings. He fanned five, but allowed a pair of home runs. The win was his first since September 5th and he's now 14-6 on the year.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 9/20, 5:36 PM CT
Scott Baker got roughed up by the Tigers on Sunday as the Twins fell to Detroit 6-2. Baker lasted only 4.2 innings and allowed four runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out five.

Our View: Not the outing Baker and the Twins were looking for as they battle to stay in the playoff hunt. Baker had been pitching well in the month of September, but he just didn't have it today. Overall, Baker is still 13-9 this season, and if the Twins stay hot he should be a source for wins down the stretch.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 9/15, 11:11 PM CT
Scott Baker gave up three earned runs on five hits over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Indians at the Metrodome. He had two walks with five strikeouts.

Our View: The game was tied at 3-3 when Baker exited, so he takes a no-decision rather than a win. He allowed three earned runs in each of his previous two starts, and is 1-1 with a 3.50 ERA over three starts this month.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 9/10, 3:03 PM CT
Scott Baker put together a quality start on Thursday, but he still took the loss as the Twins fell to the Blue Jays by a score of 3-2. Baker went 6.2 innings and allowed three runs on five hits while walking four and striking out seven.

Our View: Baker allowed quite a few base-runners today thanks to his four walks, but he helped himself quite a bit by striking out seven. Overall it wasn't a bad outing, but he still falls to 13-8 when it's all over.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 9/5, 6:52 PM CT
Scott Baker only issued one earned run on three hits over six innings in Saturday's 4-1 win at Cleveland. He had four walks with four strikeouts.

Our View: It was another strong outing for Baker, other than the four free passes. Baker earned a win in five of his last seven starts, and leads the Twins with 13.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 8/30, 7:49 PM CT
Scott Baker looked sharp in the Twins' 5-3 win over the Rangers on Sunday. He allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings and struck six, but did not receive a decision as the Twin scored thee in te eight to win it.

Our View: Baker just missed out on winning his fourth straight decision, and has allowed just eight earned runs in his last 28.1 innings.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsMonday 8/24, 10:01 PM CT
Scott Baker only surrendered one earned run on four hits over seven innings in Monday's 2-1 win over Baltimore at the Metrodome. He had one walk and five strikeouts.

Our View: Baker earned his team-leading 12th win, and trimmed his ERA to 4.47. He claimed a win in three straight starts, and is 4-0 over five outings this month.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsWednesday 8/19, 10:34 PM CT
Scott Baker gave up four earned runs on nine hits over 5.1 innings in Wednesday's 5-4 win at Texas. He had two walks and six strikeouts.

Our View: Baker did not have a strong outing, but the Twins provided enough run support for him to claim his 11th win of 2009. He is now 3-0 over four starts in August.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsFriday 8/14, 10:03 PM CT
Scott Baker was dominant in Friday's 11-0 win over the Indians at the Metrodome, as he only surrendered two hits over nine scoreless innings. He had no walks with five strikeouts.

Our View: Baker collected his 10th win of 2009, and his first complete game and shutout. He has allowed two or less earned runs in five of his last six starts.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 8/9, 3:23 PM CT
Scott Baker's horrendous outing made it nearly impossible for the Twins to win on Sunday. The inconsistent righty allowed six runs in just 4.1 innings, as the Tigers outslugged the Twins 8-7.

Our View: Baker, 1.20 WHIP, doesn't allow a ton of baserunners, but the ones he does usually score (4.85 ERA). Start at your own risk.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 8/4, 9:11 PM CT
Scott Baker only allowed three hits over seven scoreless innings in Tuesday's 10-1 win at Cleveland. He had one walk and four strikeouts.

Our View: Baker improved his record to 9-7, and continues to lead the Twins with 106 strikeouts. Baker is 3-0 over his last five starts, and allowed two or less earned runs in each of his last four.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 7/28, 11:28 PM CT
Scott Baker had another fine outing on Tuesday, but he did not factor into the decision as the Twins beat the White Sox 5-3. Baker went six innings and allowed one run on four hits while striking out six.

Our View: Too bad that Baker couldn't get the win tonight, because he pitched well enough to do so. After a rough start, he has settled down and become a very reliable fantasy option. He is striking hitters out and limiting runs, and he should stay consistent as the year progresses.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 7/18, 10:29 PM CT
Scott Baker was in control from the bump in Saturday's 4-1 win at Texas, as he only allowed one earned run on six hits over eight innings. He had two walks and fired eight strikeouts.

Our View: Baker now has a winning record at 8-7 and trimmed his ERA to 5.10. He also has nailed down a win in four of his last five starts, and should be employed in fantasy lineups for his next turn in the Twins' rotation.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 7/7, 10:44 PM CT
Scott Baker was rocked for five earned runs on nine hits over a mere three innings in Tuesday's 10-2 loss to the Yankees at the Metrodome. He had two walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Baker had his two-game winning streak snapped, and now has a losing record at 6-7. He is off to a disappointing start in July, after going 4-0 with a 3.20 ERA over six starts last month.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 6/30, 11:32 PM CT
Scott Baker was in control from the bump in Tuesday's 2-1 win at Minnesota, as he only surrendered one earned run on five hits over five innings. He had two walks and one strikeout.

Our View: Baker evens his record to 6-6, and lowers his ERA to 4.99. He closes out June with a 4-0 mark over six starts.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 6/25, 4:20 PM CT
Scott Baker gave up three earned runs on four hits over six innings in Thursday's 6-4 win at Milwaukee. He had three walks and five strikeouts, and surrendered two homers.

Our View: It was not a solid outing for Baker, but his teammates provided enough offensive support for him to collect his fifth win of the season. He is now 3-0 over five starts this month, and should be penciled into fantasy lineups for his next trip to the hill.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 6/20, 10:31 PM CT
Scott Baker did not factor into the decision on Saturday as the Twins fell to the Astros 6-5. Baker went 6.1 innings and allowed three runs on six hits while walking one and striking out six.

Our View: Baker was very good for the first six innings, but he ran into trouble in the seventh and it cost him a win. He has been pretty good over his last several starts, and he is starting to look like a very safe play in all formats.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 6/14, 9:41 PM CT
Scott Baker did not factor into the decision on Sunday as the Twins fell to the Cubs 3-2. Baker went seven innings and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out five.

Our View: Baker was very good again today, and he is starting to solidify himself as a quality fantasy pitcher. If Baker is a free agent in your league, it would be wise to give him a look.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsWednesday 6/10, 12:51 AM CT
Scott Baker allowed three earned runs on four hits over eight innings in Tuesday's 10-5 win at Oakland. He issued one walk and racked up eight strikeouts.

Our View: He has won back-to-back starts, and claimed his first win on the road. His fantasy stock continues to go back up following a shaky start to the season.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 6/4, 3:36 PM CT
Scott Baker was outstanding on Thursday as the Twins downed the Indians 11-3. Baker went seven innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking one and striking out ten.

Our View: This makes two very solid starts in a row for Baker, and his fantasy value is beginning to return. The strikeout total was very impressive, and if he keeps pitching like this or anywhere close to it he will be a solid fantasy starter for the rest of the season.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 5/24, 10:23 PM CT
Scott Baker allowed just three runs on seven hits over 8.1 innings on Sunday night. He struck out six and did not walk a man in the Twins' 6-3 win over the Brewers.

Our View: Baker's night would have looked much better if not for a ninth inning two-run homer he surrendered to Prince Fielder. It looks like the Twins were trying to let him go the distance and it burned him. Still fantasy owners will take any positive start from Baker at this point.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 5/19, 10:48 PM CT
Scott Baker fell to 1-5 on Tuesday after getting rocked by the White Sox. Baker went five innings and allowed four runs on five hits while walking four and striking out four.

Our View: Baker has not been good this season, and he is quickly losing fantasy value every time he steps on the mound. He is probably not worth a roster spot in mixed leagues, and AL-only owners should watch him closely.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 5/14, 3:13 PM CT
Scott Baker was rocked for five earned runs on seven hits over six innings in Thursday's 6-5 win over Detroit at the HHH Metrodome. He had one walk with four strikeouts.

Our View: This was another poor outing for Baker, but he avoided taking his fifth loss of the season as the Twins rallied to score six runs in the seventh inning.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsFriday 5/8, 11:28 PM CT
Scott Baker finally had a solid outing this season. He blanked the Mariners over seven innings and allowed just five hits in the 11-0 win. He earned his first victory of the season and struck out five without walking a man.

Our View: Finally, some progress. We knew Baker would come around eventually, but patience has indeed been a virtue. We don't think the return of Joe Mauer behind the plate and Baker's solid outing is a coincidence either.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 5/3, 7:05 PM CT
Scott Baker's struggles continued on Sunday, as he gave up five runs on five hits in six innings. He was handed his fourth loss of the season and was knocked around by the Royals in a 7-5 defeat.

Our View: Baker has been blasted in every start this season and Sunday's five-run, six-inning outing actually lowered his ERA. That should tell you what kid of a season he's having so far. He's far too talented a starter for this stretch to continue, so look for him to rebound in the near future.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 4/14, 7:33 PM CT
According to MLB.com, Twins' starter Scott Baker is set to make his season debut on Wednesday. He will take the mound against the Blue Jays.

Our View: Baker was slated to start on Opening Day, but shoulder stiffness landed him on the DL. Feel free to put him in your lineup now as the Twins' say he's healthy and he was their best starter last season.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsWednesday 4/8, 10:50 AM CT
Scott Baker, who was placed on the DL with right shoulder stiffnes, has thrown in the bullpen and is slated to start for Single-A Fort Myers on Friday, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: Barring a setback, Baker could return to the Twins in time to start next Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 4/2, 10:55 AM CT
Scott Baker has been placed on the 15-day DL by the Twins due to stiffness in his right shoulder, according to the Sports Network. The move is retroactive to March 28.

Our View: Baker is eligible to be activated on April 12. Francisco Liriano will start the season opener against Seattle.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 3/22, 6:45 PM CT
Scott Baker gave up nine hits in 4.2 innings of work against the Blue Jays on Sunday. He allowed four earned runs while striking out five.

Our View: Baker has been incredibly hittable this spring with 33 hits given up in 17.2 innings. Although he did not allow a home run today, he's given up eight in his first 13 innings this spring. At this point, he is not looking like the pitcher that posted a 3.45 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 28 starts last season.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 3/17, 3:23 PM CT
Scott Baker surrendered four earned runs on seven hits over three innings in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to Boston, with one walk and two strikeouts.

Our View: He allowed two homers today, and six homers over his last two spring outings. This was also an issue last season, as he gave up 20 round-trippers over 28 starts.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 3/12, 3:29 PM CT
Scott Baker was roughed up by the Pirates Thursday. He allowed four solo home runs in four innings. Three of them by Craig Monroe.

Our View: Baker had a fine season in 2008, but is off to a rocky start this spring. He could be a decent fantasy starter, but needs to cut down on his home runs allowed.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 3/12, 9:11 AM CT
Scott Baker is slated to start today's game against the Pirates, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: Baker went 11-4 last season over 172.1 innings, while maintaining a solid 1.18 WHIP. He should be a quality fantasy starter for 2009, especially if he can cut down on home runs allowed.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 3/7, 3:28 PM CT
Scott Baker allowed just one run in four innings of work as the Twins lost 10-1 to the Pirates on Saturday. He scattered six hits, walked none, and struck out four in the effort. He signed a four-year, $15.25 million contract earlier in the day.

Our View: The 27-year-old had a nice season a year ago when he posted a 3.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 7.36 K/9 rate. The biggest concern with him his GB/FB ratio was the seventh lowest in the majors. Thanks to a large park and speedy outfield, he was not hurt much by it last season. However he still allowed 20 home runs in 172.1 innings pitched.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 3/7, 1:42 PM CT
Pitcher Scott Baker signed a four-year, $15.25 million contract to remain with the Twins on Saturday, according to the AP.

Our View: The Twins probably got a bargain here, as Baker looked like the most reliable starter on the staff a season ago. The 27-year-old posted a 3.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 7.36 K/9 rate. Expect another nice season from Baker in 2009.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsMonday 2/2, 8:17 PM CT
MLB.com reports that pitcher Scott Baker is open to negotiating a long-term deal in order to avoid arbitration next season.

Our View: The 27-year-old has been pretty consistent through his first two seasons. In 28 starts last season, he had an 11-4 record, a 3.45 ERA, and a 1.18 WHIP. One point of concern is that he gave up 20 home runs in 172.1 innings last year.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 9/28, 5:12 PM CT
Scott Baker finished off a very good season with seven innings of shutout pitching in a must-win game against the Royals. He struck nine batters and allowed just five baserunners in the 6-0 victory.

Our View: Baker started 28 games for the Twins and only lost four times. Although his numbers are not particularly gaudy, he was very consistent. He did not have an ERA over 4.00 in any month but April. He finishes the regular season with a 3.45 mark.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 9/23, 10:09 PM CT
Scott Baker threw seven innings, allowing just one run to the White Sox, as the Twins got the victory, 9-3.

Our View: Baker picks up his 10th win in this crucial game, seeing his ERA drop to 3.59.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 9/16, 6:50 PM CT
Scott Baker is confident he will be able to successfully pitch on three days rest according to MLB.com. "I feel like I condition myself enough," Baker said. "Only one start this season I really ever felt fatigued and that was in Boston, when it was humid and muggy. Otherwise, I condition myself to throw more pitches than they'll ever allow me to throw. So I don't know. Maybe I'll feel tired, maybe I won't. We'll have to see."

Our View: Baker has been very good in 25 starts this year and matches up against Cleveland on Wednesday. In his one start against Cleveland this season he gave up three runs in five innings.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 9/14, 1:40 PM CT
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Baker will likely pitched Wednesday on three day's rest.

Our View: He has a favorable start at Cleveland.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 9/13, 7:20 PM CT
Scott Baker only allowed one earned run on four hits over six innings in Saturday's 12-2 win over Baltimore, with three walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Baker claimed his ninth win of the season, and has allowed one earned run in three of his last five outings. He shall remain active in mixed-leagues.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 8/31, 6:48 PM CT
Scott Baker finally picked up his eighth win. The right-hander held the A's to six hits and one run over six innings on Sunday. He improved to 8-4. Baker posted a 0-1 record over his last six outings.

Our View: Baker had a couple rough starts this August, but he has now posted three straight quality appearances. He remains a solid middle-of-the-rotation starter in mixed fantasy leagues despite the lack of victories.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsWednesday 8/27, 12:05 AM CT
Minnesota RHP Scott Baker did his best to keep his Twins in the mix, but the offense failed to formulate runs and Baker suffered in the end, pitching 6 2/3 innings to allow three runs (all earned) on 10 hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: With the loss, Baker falls to 7-4 on the season with a 3.75 ERA. This was his first decision in five starts through August, giving up 16 combined earned runs along the way.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 7/31, 10:49 PM CT
Scott Baker had an up and down performance, giving up four earned runs in six innings to Chicago, but also striking out eight White Sox hitters.

Our View: After not walking three hitters in one game all season, Baker has now done it twice in a row. He still remains a good option in fantasy due to his low WHIP and moderate ERA.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 7/26, 9:46 PM CT
It wasn't the prettiest of his seven wins, but Twins pitcher Scott Baker got the job done, surrendering three runs in five innings.

Our View: Baker uncharacteristically walked three batters, which accounts for 1/6 of his total for the entire season.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 7/24, 3:04 PM CT
Since returning from the DL, Scott Baker has made nine starts. In those starts, his ERA is 2.79 and his WHIP is 1.06. For the year, he has a 3.26 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP to go with a 6-3 record.

Our View: If you're looking for a pitcher on the waiver wire, there's a good chance Baker's available. He has 76 strikeouts to just 15 walks.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 7/20, 7:22 PM CT
The Rangers and Twins hooked up for barnburner today, posting six combined hits between them in a battle of pitching with Texas emerging with the 1-0 win. For Minnesota, it was the effort of RHP Scott Baker that went wasted, pitching eight innings to allow just one run on two hits with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Our View: Baker falls to 6-3 on the season, though the three losses have come over his last eight starts.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 7/12, 7:03 PM CT
Minnesota RHP Scott Baker picked up his sixth win of the season today, helping his Twins to a 6-5 victory over the Tigers. Baker pitched seven innings, allowing four runs (all earned) over six hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: The bulk of the damage was done on two homers, but it wasn't enough to stop the Twins, posting 12 total hits to give Baker plenty of offensive support. Baker now touts four wins over his last five starts.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 7/1, 10:22 PM CT
Minnesota RHP Scott Baker showed well in support of the 6-4 win over the Tigers, pitching six innings to allow three runs on seven hits with no walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: Baker came out of June with consecutive wins and keeps the tide rolling this evening. He has allowed just seven total earned runs over 18 innings of work during that span, touting three walks versus 15 strikeouts.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 6/26, 6:24 PM CT
Scott Baker improved to 4-2 on Thursday allowing three runs in six innings against the Padres. Baker allowed six hits and two walks while striking out three.

Our View: Baker owns a 3.57 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP after 11 starts this year and is only being held back from being a big time story because of his low total of four victories. He has been great this season.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsFriday 6/20, 10:14 PM CT
Scott Baker won for the first time in over two months on Friday night as he held the Diamondbacks to just one earned run over six innings. Baker walked one and struck out seven in the win.

Our View: Baker is only 3-2 despite a 3.47 ERA and strong 1.19 WHIP as he continues to baffle hitters on his way toward establishing himself as a legitimate fantasy starter.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsMonday 6/16, 5:36 PM CT
Scott Baker was the first pitcher in Twins history to record four strikeouts in an inning on Sunday, according to MLB.com. "I didn't even think about it," Baker said of the feat. "I came in [the clubhouse] and heard somebody say something about it. Yeah, that's pretty crazy.

Our View: This was the first time an AL pitcher accomplished the feat since 2003 when Kurt Suzuki turned the trick for the Mariners.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSunday 6/15, 5:34 PM CT
Scott Baker gave up three earned runs on seven hits over six innings in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers, with two walks and nine strikeouts.

Our View: Baker fell to 2-2 over nine starts, with a 3.71 ERA. This was his highest strikeout total for the season, and allowed two or less earned runs over his previous three starts. He is having a solid season and should bounce back fine.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 6/10, 8:19 PM CT
Don't blame Scott Baker for the Twins' loss on Tuesday night. The right-hander held the Indians to eight hits and one run over seven full innings. Baker walked one and struck out one.

Our View: Baker has allowed only three runs over 12 innings since coming off the DL. He's not the most exciting arm, but he can fill out the back of a fantasy rotation in mixed leagues.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 6/5, 3:40 PM CT
Scott Baker only allowed two runs on five hits over five innings in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Baltimore, and he was dealt a no decision in his first game back from his strained right groin ailment.

Our View: That was a favorable return for him, and he had good control, with only one walk and three strikeouts.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 6/5, 12:38 PM CT
Scott Baker has been activated from the DL and returned to the mound against the Orioles Thursday, according to ESPN.com. Baker has recovered from his strained right groin, and Manager Ron Gardenhire said, "He's a guy we've counted on from the beginning. Hopefully he'll get back and get going here and be one of our solid starters."

Our View: Baker will be limited to 85 or 90 pitches. He is taking Boof Bonser's spot in the rotation, who has been moved to the pen. Baker held a solid 1.09 WHIP over six starts prior to landing on the DL.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsMonday 6/2, 9:05 AM CT
Scott Baker is ready to return from the DL for Thursday's game against Baltimore, according to the Star Tribune. He has recovered from his strained right groin.

Our View: The team did not announce who will be removed from the rotation upon his return. Boof Bonser was expected to be moved to the bullpen, but the team is waiting to make that call.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsSaturday 5/31, 4:19 PM CT
Scott Baker is scheduled to start tonight for Single-A Fort Myers, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: Baker has recovered from a strained right groin muscle, and will likely be called up if he pitches well tonight. He was 2-0 with a 4.09 ERA and solid 1.09 WHIP over 33 innings before landing on the DL, with 29 strikeouts.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsFriday 5/23, 6:40 PM CT
Scott Baker threw his second consecutive painless batting practice on Thursday and is scheduled to pitch three or four innings in a rehab game on Monday, according to MLB.com. If all goes well, the plan is for him to do the same thing five days later. The righty is coming back from a strained right groin. "If we feel he's ready to be here [after the second start], he'll be here," said Anderson. "If not, we'll give him another one [rehab start]."

Our View: All appears well for Baker so far. He was pitching well before the injury, so you'll want to keep tabs on his progress.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsFriday 5/16, 11:43 AM CT
Scott Baker, recovering from a strained right groin, is scheduled to head to Fort Myers, Fla., on Friday to begin a rehab assignment, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The righty will throw two bullpen sessions and likely make a start in an extended spring training game on Thursday. A decision on whether to activate Baker from the DL will be made after that.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsThursday 5/15, 12:28 PM CT
Scott Baker's bullpen session was successful, and he will leave Friday for Fort Myers, Florida, where he’ll throw two bullpen sessions and likely pitch in an extended spring training game next Thursday, according to the Star Tribune. He is recovering from a strained right groin.

Our View: He could return to Minnesota in early June, barring a setback.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsTuesday 5/13, 8:39 PM CT
Minnesota RHP Scott Baker was in the bullpen throwing a light "tennis shoe" session today in an effort to test his strained right groin muscle, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Baker reports there is still discomfort in the muscle, leading the Twins to delay any potential rehab assignments in the minors. Today was the first time Baker has thrown off a mound since May 3rd. "Groins are a funny thing when you are a pitcher," said manager Ron Gardenhire. "You just have to be really careful with these things. We saw that a few years ago with (Brad) Radke. He told us after two weeks he was fine and then went out and really blew it out. So you've got to be leery about that. We let (Baker) try to pitch once (with the injured groin) and we're not going to let him do it again until he's healthy." We will update as news comes forth.
Scott Baker, P, Minnesota TwinsMonday 5/12, 7:21 PM CT
Scott Baker is eligible to come off the DL next Monday but his strained right groin is taking a bit longer than expected to heal meaning that Baker likely won't be activated when the 15 days are up, according to MLB.com. "They don't want me to push it trying to hit that date," Baker said.
