Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 9/30, 5:42 PM CT
Fausto Carmona only allowed one earned run on five hits over seven innings in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the rival White Sox at Progressive Field. He had two walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: Carmona is capable of being a strong pitcher, like today, but has been too erratic to trust in fantasy leagues. He allowed two or less earned runs in each of his last two starts.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 9/25, 9:00 PM CT
Fausto Carmona only allowed two earned runs on nine hits over six innings in Friday's 4-2 win over the Orioles at Progressive Field. He had one walk and six strikeouts.

Our View: Carmona pitched well while earning his fourth win of 2009. He was winless over his previous five starts.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 9/20, 6:46 PM CT
Fausto Carmona got rocked again on Sunday as the Indians fell to the A's 11-4. Carmona went 5.2 innings and allowed eight runs on 10 hits while walking one and striking out two.

Our View: Carmona is 3-12 on the season, and he has been just as bad as his record indicates. His ERA is now at 6.89 on the season, and 2009 will be one to forget for the Indian hurler.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 9/16, 5:18 PM CT
Fausto Carmona will remain in the Indians' rotation for the rest of the 2009 campaign, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

Our View: Carmona is 3-11 with a 6.58 ERA, and was tagged for five earned runs over 5.1 innings in his last start at Minnesota, but his job in the Indians' rotation is apparently safe. Skipper Eric Wedge is hopeful that he will get on track, and end the season on a high note.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 9/15, 11:20 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was rocked for five earned runs on nine hits over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's 5-4 loss at Minnesota. He issued three walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Carmona fell to 3-11 with a 6.58 ERA following tonight's poor performance. He gave up five earned runs in each of his last two starts, and carries a terrible 9.49 ERA over three starts this month.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 9/9, 2:47 PM CT
Fausto Carmona got served on Wednesday by a slugging Texas lineup. He allowed five runs on six hits and a walk and never managed to get out of the first inning before being yanked.

Our View: The Tribe lost 10-0, Fausto fell to 3-10 after 0.2 innings pitched and he allowed the same amount of home runs as batters retired in the game. Not a good outing for the former top of the rotation starter. His glory days seem long gone now.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 9/3, 3:32 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was wild on Thursday, issuing five free passes in 6.1 innings, but took a no-decision, as Detroit beat the Indians 4-3 in ten innings.

Our View: Carmona has walked 21 batters in 40 innings since returning from the minor leagues, though he has posted a 4.05 ERA, worlds better than the 7.42 one he was sporting at the time of his demotion in early June.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 8/29, 10:33 AM CT
Indians' skipper Eric Wedge commented on Fausto Carmona after the hurler was rocked for six runs in Friday's loss to the Orioles, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Wedge said, "Fausto just had trouble keeping the ball on the plate. They were aggressive. They got to him early in counts. There were other times where he was having trouble keeping the ball on the plate and they got into good hitter's counts. That is a bad combination."

Our View: Wedge added that Carmona is still a work in progress, and intends for him to pitch every fifth day in the rotation. He has been encouraged by Carmona's progress prior to his tough outing last night.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 8/28, 10:46 PM CT
Fausto Carmona got lit up on Friday night. He allowed six runs on nine hits and three walks over just 4.2 innings in the Tribe's 13-4 loss.

Our View: Fausto looked to be making a comeback this season after posting quality starts in three of four games this month, but the wheels came off on Friday. His ERA jumped back up to 6.20 after the poor outing.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 8/23, 2:57 PM CT
Fausto Carmona silenced the Mariners on Sunday, limiting them to just one one run and six baserunners in seven innings, en route to winning his first game since May 14.

Our View: He also struck out eight. If you haven't taken a flier on him already, now would be the time to do so.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 8/18, 9:38 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was tagged for five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over five innings in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Angels at Progressive Field. He had two walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Carmona was dealt a loss, and falls to 2-8 with a 6.31 ERA. He is now winless over his last eight starts, but allowed two or less earned runs in three of his last four. He is worth using in deeper fantasy leagues for his next turn in Cleveland's rotation.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 8/12, 9:33 PM CT
Fausto Carmona took a tough loss on Wednesday. He allowed just two runs on five hits and three walks over six innings, but fell to 2-7 as the Tribe got blanked by the Rangers 5-0.

Our View: Since being recalled, Carmona has allowed two runs or less in each of his three starts. Unfortunately for the scattered few that still own him in fantasy leagues, he's 0-1 over that stretch.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 8/6, 2:42 PM CT
Fausto Carmona scattered six hits and three walks over six inning and allowed just one run against the Twins on Thursday. He did not factor in the decision as the Tribe scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh.

Our View: Carmona has now looked pretty good in his two starts since working his way all the way back up to the majors from rookie ball. He likely won't get much run support, but is worth a look in AL-only leagues if you need innings and a decent ERA.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 7/31, 11:22 PM CT
Fausto Carmona allowed two earned runs on four hits over five innings in Friday's 6-5 win over the Tigers at Progressive Field. He had four walks and one strikeout in a battle that took 13 innings to decide a victor.

Our View: Carmona has a decent outing against a strong Detroit club in his first game back from the minors. He is worth targeting if dangling on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 7/31, 5:59 PM CT
As expected, Fausto Carmona has been recalled by the Indians from Triple-A Columbus, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: He was previously sent down to the minors to work on his pitching mechanics. Carmona is slated to start tonight's home game against the AL Central leading Tigers. He should be targeted in fantasy leagues, but should not be penciled into lineups in tonight's tough match-up.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 7/30, 7:53 AM CT
Fausto Carmona is being recalled from Triple-A Columbus to take the roster spot of the traded Cliff Lee, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Carmona has apparently refined and rediscovered his mechanics. He shouldn't be added in any format, however, until he proves he can get major league hitters out again. He will make his first start either Friday or Saturday.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 7/17, 10:15 AM CT
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Fausto Carmona was successful in his third start with Triple-A Columbus.

Our View: Carmona, who has been trying to claw his way back to the Majors after a dreadful start to the season, allowed just two runs over seven innings in his last outing. In his three Triple-A starts he has allowed eight runs on 21 hits and three walks over 19 innings. He has fanned 13 in that span, and the pitching starved Indians could give him a call in the near future.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 7/9, 11:07 AM CT
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Indians' starter Fausto Carmona is unlikely to return to the team immediately after the All-Star break. The Indians' coaching staff feels like he needs more work before rejoining the team's rotation.

Our View: Carmona has looked good thus far in the minors, but apparently the Indians' coaches aren't as impressed. Carmona will start Friday in Triple-A, and expect him to make a few more minor league starts after the break before he returns.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/8, 10:13 AM CT
Fausto Carmona is scheduled to make at least one more minor league start in Triple-A on Friday, according to MLB.com. If he pitches well, he could be brought back to the Indians next week.

Our View: Carmona has been good so far in his minor league stint, and if he impresses again on Friday he may be headed back to Cleveland. He is still a very high risk fantasy play when he does return, but he could be worth the chance in Al-only leagues if you are desperate for pitching.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/1, 9:40 AM CT
According to the Plain Dealer, struggling starter Fausto Carmona looked very good in Tuesday's outing for Double-A Akron.

Our View: Carmona allowed just one run over seven innings. He gave up four hits, but did not walk a batter and struck out five. His last start in Single-A was impressive as well, and if he keeps progressing the struggling Indians could bring him back to the big leagues sooner than expected.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 6/30, 10:54 AM CT
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Indians have transferred pitcher Fausto Carmona from Single-A to Double-A. Carmona is expected to start Tuesday night for Double-A Akron.

Our View: After a very impressive performance for the Single-A club in his last start, the Indians must be confident that he is ready to move to the next level. The team has said it wants Carmona to progress through the system, but don't be shocked if he spends a few starts in Double-A.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 6/26, 9:28 AM CT
Fausto Carmona threw 6.1 scoreless innings at Single-A Lake County, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Carmona allowed just one hit and struck out seven. It was a good start on the struggling righty's combeack trail to the big leagues. The Indians plan on moving him up through their system as he progresses, and a return to the big club this season is certainly a possibility. He could be worth a flier when he returns if he continues to pitch well in the minors.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 6/5, 1:01 PM CT
As speculated, the Indians demoted Fausto Carmona to the minor leagues on Friday according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

Our View: Not just to Triple-A, either. Carmona is being sent to the Arizona Rookie League. Much like his 2008 season, Carmona's 2009 has been an unbridled disaster, with the righty posting staggeringly awful numbers. He has gone 2-6 with a 7.42 ERA and 1.81 WHIP. There's no telling when, if ever, Carmona will regain his 19-win 2007 form, and he should be considered an absolute fantasy no go for the foreseeable future.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 6/5, 9:21 AM CT
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Indians are considering sending Fausto Carmona to Triple-A. Carmona has struggled this season, and in his last three starts he has given up 19 runs in 7.1 innings.

Our View: The Indians are going to evaluate all options regarding Carmona, but it looks like a serious possibility that he will be sent down. As bad as he has been this season, it really seems like the only option at this point. Fantasy owners should stay away from Carmona at all costs right now, and it is unlikely that he turns it around enough to be a solid fantasy option the rest of the season.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 6/4, 3:45 PM CT
Fausto Carmona got lit up by the Twins on Thursday in the Indians' 11-3 loss. Carmona went two innings and allowed seven runs on five hits while walking three and striking out just one. His record now sits at 2-6 on the year.

Our View: Memo to Indians: Carmona is not good. His ERA is now at 7.42 on the year, and whatever hope was being held out that he could return to form is now lost. Anyone who still has this guy on your fantasy team needs to get rid of him, and you need to do it fast.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 5/25, 9:26 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was terrible against the Rays on Monday. He gave up five earned runs in 1.1 innings of work. He struck out three, but walked five and gave up three hits.

Our View: Carmona has walked more hitters than any other pitcher in the AL. He has shown very little control over the past two seasons, and he has next to no fantasy value until he can cut down his walks significantly.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 5/21, 12:04 AM CT
Fausto Carmona did not factor into the decision as the Indians beat the Royals 6-5 on Wednesday. Carmona went six innings and allowed four runs on six hits while walking four and striking out three.

Our View: Still not a great outing for Carmona. The Indians expect more out of him, but right now he is not delivering. He is a risky play even in AL-only leagues at this point, and he should be avoided in mixed leagues unless he gets things figured out.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 5/14, 10:00 PM CT
Fausto Carmona notched his second win of the year on Thursday as the Indians defeated the Rays 11-7. Carmona went 5.1 innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits while walking three and striking out two.

Our View: Carmona still wasn't very good tonight, but his offense got him a win. While many thought this could be a big year for Carmona, he hasn't lived up to the hype. He should not be owned in mixed leagues at this point, and AL-only leagues are iffy at best.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 5/9, 9:45 PM CT
Fausto Carmona took his fourth loss of the season on Saturday as he allowed two runs on four hits and six walks over 6.2 innings. The Tribe fell to the Tigers 4-0.

Our View: Fausto has yet to look like the pitcher fantasy owners fell in love with in 2007. This season's 1-4 record and 5.57 ERA has him sitting on the bench on many rosters. He has now walked 30 on the season and you don't have to dig too deep to find out why he's struggling so much this season.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 5/4, 11:08 PM CT
Fausto Carmona did not factor into the decision on Monday as the Indians won a 12 inning marathon 9-7. Carmona went 6.2 innings and allowed four runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out three.

Our View: Carmona was decent tonight, but not great. He has been just average, possibly below, so far this season, but he has the ability to be better as the year goes on. Watch him closely, because he could be a good value if he starts to put it together.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 4/29, 10:10 PM CT
Fausto Carmona allowed only two runs in 6.2 innings of work but his bullpen lost the win for him in Boston's 6-5 win in 10 innings on Wednesday. He allowed five hits and four walks while striking out three.

Our View: Carmona just cannot seem to find the strike zone with regularity. He has 16 walks through 28.2 innings this season. Walks were a huge problem for him last season, and that looks to be the case again in 2009.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 4/24, 9:21 PM CT
Fausto Carmona got roughed up again on Friday, going six innings and allowing four runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out seven. He drops to 1-3 on the season.

Our View: Carmona hasn't been very good this year, and that didn't change on Friday. He did manage to strike out seven, but he also gave up four runs and eight hits. His fantasy value is iffy right now, but his stuff is good enough that it might be worth it to wait him out.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 4/13, 10:31 AM CT
Fausto Carmona will take the hill for his second start of the season Monday against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: Carmona was rocked for six earned runs in his season debut, but will have a good chance to bounce back as he is 4-1 over nine games (seven starts) against Kansas City. Playing in a pitcher-friendly park will help as well.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 4/8, 10:55 PM CT
Fausto Carmona had a rough start to the 2009 season as he allowed six runs in five innings in the Indians 8-5 loss to Texas on Wednesday. He struck out four batters against two walks.

Our View: Carmona had a ghastly 1.62 WHIP and 4.33 K/9 rate a season ago, yet some are still looking at him as a sleeper. Sleeping is exactly what your fantasy team will appear to be doing as long as he is in your starting rotation.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 4/3, 10:58 PM CT
Fausto Carmona pitched five innings Friday and allowed two runs on six hits against the Astros.

Our View: Carmona also fanned five batters. He has shown improvement this spring from his disappointing campaign in '08, allowing just eight earned runs in 27 innings, and looks set to make his first start of the season on Wednesday.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 4/3, 10:43 AM CT
Fausto Carmona will make his final exhibition start tonight against the Pirates, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: He has allowed six earned runs and 18 hits over 22 innings this spring, with eight strikeouts and eight walks. He is slated to start the second game of the regular season next Wednesday.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 3/29, 8:10 PM CT
Fausto Carmona surrendered three runs on seven hits in six innings against the Cubs on Sunday.

Our View: Carmona (4-0) has been perfect during exhibition play and should warrant plenty of consideration across all mixed leagues as he attempts to recapture his 2007 (19-8, 3.06 ERA) magic.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 3/29, 9:59 AM CT
Fausto Carmona will make his sixth spring start Sunday against the Cubs, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: He is 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA so far, and ranks second among the Indians' pitchers with 16 innings pitched. He has seven walks, but has been firing a lot of strikes. He could be a solid hurler, but needs to improve his control.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 3/24, 8:04 PM CT
Fausto Carmona tossed five scoreless innings against the White Sox on Tuesday. He allowed two hits, walked two, and struck out two. "You know what was a great sign," manager Eric Wedge informs the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "Fausto came out there and he wasn't on track right away, but he was able to fix it." Carmona owns a 1.69 ERA this spring.

Our View: Many fantasy owners don't trust Carmona after his awful, awful 2008 season, but the spring results have been pretty good. We still worry that his wild control will be a problem when the season comes along.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 3/23, 9:16 AM CT
Fausto Carmona will start Tuesday's game against the White Sox, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: He was struck on his right forearm in his last outing, but looks to be fine. He is 3-0 with a 2.45 ERA so far in spring action.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 3/20, 12:35 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was struck by a line drive on his right forearm during Thursday's game, but he stated that he is OK, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Pitching coach Carl Willis said, "He said he is OK. I am going out to watch him play catch right now. It looks like he will be able to throw his bullpen on Saturday."

Our View: This is good news, but Carmona is still uncertain if he will be able to make his next scheduled start Tuesday.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 3/9, 7:01 PM CT
Fausto Carmona earned the win for the Indians in Monday's Cactus League game against the White Sox, but it wasn't pretty. He allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out just one.

Our View: This game drove Carmona's ERA up to 3.86 this spring. He'll probably be drafted in the mid-to-late rounds of most all-MLB drafts.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 3/9, 11:16 AM CT
Fausto Carmona is set for his third start of the spring today against the White Sox, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: He is yet to allow a run over four innings, and is holding hitters to a .214 batting average. He will continue to move up draft boards with another solid outing today.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 3/4, 7:26 PM CT
Fausto Carmona made a solid appearance for the Indians against the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing just one hit and one walk through two scoreless innings.

Our View: Carmona is expected to be Cleveland's number two starter behind reigning Cy Young winner Cliff Lee. The Indians will be careful with him after he missed over two months of last season with a strained hip.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 2/12, 2:14 PM CT
Fausto Carmona will not be representing the Dominican Republic in the upcoming World Baseball Classic at the request of the Indians, according to MLB.com. He missed more than two months with a strained hip last season, so the Indians had the right to hold him out.

Our View: The Indians want Carmona to be in camp and work on his delivery and prepare for the No. 2 role in the rotation behind ace Cliff Lee. Carmona held a 1.62 WHIP in 2008, and is worth buying low in fantasy leagues with a chance to bounce back and post solid numbers.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 11/30, 8:46 AM CT
Undisclosed clubs have been inquiring about Indians' hurler Fausto Carmona, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: He struggled last season with a 1.62 WHIP, but it would still take a lot to pry Carmona away from the Indians, especially since they already dealt ace CC Sabathia last season.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 9/25, 3:24 PM CT
Indians hurler Fausto Carmona saw his suspension reduced to five games, and he will begin serving it Thursday, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

Our View: Carmona had been suspended for six games, but his reduced suspension means he'll miss the rest of this season and the first game next year.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 9/22, 4:40 PM CT
Fausto Carmona has been suspended for six games for his role in the Tigers-Indians brawl last Friday, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Carmona is set to begin his suspension this evening, though it is unclear at this time if he will appeal the ruling or accept the punishment. Given his poor work on the hill this season (5.19 ERA, 1.59 WHIP), his loss likely wouldn't be too hard to overcome for his owners.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 9/21, 10:51 AM CT
Indians pitcher Fausto Carmona, teammate Victor Martinez, Tigers outfielder Gary Sheffield and possibly others will learn their fate in terms of suspensions and fines on Monday after taking part in a brawl on Friday, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

Our View: Suspensions are likely for the three players, though the hardest hit will probably be Sheffield, as he took the unusual step of charging the mound from first base.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 9/19, 8:10 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was ejected from Friday night's start with Cleveland according to the AP. In the seventh inning, after hitting Gary Sheffield to put him on first base, Carmona made a throw to first base. Afterward, Sheffield appeared to yell at Carmona, telling him to throw a pitch instead, and the righthander responded with words of his own. Sheffield proceeded to run toward the mound and lunged at Carmona as the benches and bullpens cleared. Carmona appeared to unload a few punches as players from both teams crowded around the pair before they eventually were separated. The brawl lasted for several minutes, with minor scuffles breaking out between other players. Carmona and the Indians were losing 4-2 when the incident occurred.

Our View: Carmona, who has struggled with walks all season, had otherwise good command on Friday as he avoided walking any batters in 6.1 innings. His ERA did go up three points in the contest to 5.19.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 9/19, 11:49 AM CT
Fausto Carmona has scuffled with his command this year, but there always seems to be that one team that offers refuge for the struggling. Carmona is 3-0 with a 3.32 ERA against tonight's opponent this season, Detroit, and 6-2 with a 3.34 ERA lifetime mark.

Our View: Entering the 2009 fantasy campaign, there will be questions about whether Carmona's 2007 season was a career year.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 9/13, 5:21 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was lit up for seven earned runs on 11 hits over 6.1 innings in Saturday's 8-3 loss to Kansas City, with three walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Carmona has allowed seven earned runs in back-to-back starts, and will remain a risky fantasy hurler for mixed-leagues.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 9/9, 11:39 AM CT
Fausto Carmona walked four over 5.1 innings in a 14-3 loss to Baltimore on Monday night. His lack of command and success aren't likely to improve this season. The Indians' right-hander is 8-6 with a 4.21 K rate and 5.55 BB rate.

Our View: These peripherals won't help Fausto or fantasy owners.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 8/27, 10:18 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was on his game this evening, leading his Indians to the 9-7 win over Detroit. Carmona pitched six innings, allowing four runs (all earned) on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Carmona moves to 7-5 on the season with the win, claiming an ERA of 4.50. Since returning from injury, he has gone 3-3 with 22 walks and 20 strikeouts.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansFriday 8/22, 10:38 PM CT
Fausto Carmona threw a solid six innings, surrendering just six hits and not allowing an earned run to pick up his sixth victory in the team's 7-5 win over Texas.

Our View: This is two good starts in a row for Carmona, who has not been consistent since coming off the disabled list. He did walk three, but struck out five as well.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 8/11, 10:27 PM CT
Fausto Carmona was torched, yet again, for seven runs in 6.1 innings on Monday night. Carmona allowed six hits and four walks on the night though he emerged with a no decision.

Our View: Face it, Carmona just isn't right and simply cannot be counted on with an amazing 51 BB and just 35 K. With a ratio like that, it's pretty amazing that his ERA is only 4.91, though it's only due to an impossible to sustain HR/F ratio of 4.8%.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 8/5, 7:33 AM CT
MLB.com reports Indians SP Fausto Carmona (5-3, 4.18 ERA) will start Tuesday, August 5, against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Our View: Carmona hopes to take strides in the right direction, as this is only his third start since returning from the DL back on July 26.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 7/31, 2:44 PM CT
Fausto Carmona had a solid outing Thursday in his second start back from the DL, holding the Tigers to two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out three over 6 1/3 innings.

Our View: This was encouraging for Carmona owners considering how Fausto fared in his first start back from the DL (nine runs allowed in 2 1/3 innings). The most encouraging part was that he walked just one.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 7/26, 9:44 PM CT
Fausto Carmona made his first start since May 23, and the Minnesota Twins lit him up, as he gave up nine runs in 2.1 innings on seven hits and three walks.

Our View: Certainly not the start fantasy owners were hoping for, as his ERA skyrocketed from 3.10 to 4.33.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 7/26, 2:49 PM CT
As anticipated, the Indians have activated pitcher Fausto Carmona from the disabled list, according to the Sports Network.

Our View: Carmona was on the DL since May 24 after leaving his start the night before against Texas with a left hip strain. He made a rehab appearance with Single-A Lake County and Double-A Akron and will start on Saturday versus Minnesota. He'll get the start this evening against Minnesota.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansWednesday 7/23, 9:49 AM CT
Fausto Carmona remains on track to return to the Indians' rotation this weekend, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He did not have any issues during his 40-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, and his hip is no longer a problem.

Our View: Manager Eric Wedge has him slated to start on Saturday against the Twins. Carmona will provide a boost to the Indians, as well as fantasy squads, and should be penciled back into lineups for the weekend.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 7/22, 10:55 AM CT
Fausto Carmona is scheduled to throw a side session Tuesday in his last step before being activated from the DL, according to the AP.

Our View: Barring a setback in his recovery from a hip strain, the team plans to activate him this weekend for a start against the Twins. Carmona will provide a boost to the Indians, as well as fantasy squads, when he returns.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 7/22, 12:11 AM CT
The Indians are planning to activate Fausto Carmona on Saturday for a start against the Twins, the AP reports. Carmona has been out since May 24 due to a left hip strain.

Our View: Carmona was 3-1 with a 1.45 ERA against the Twins last year, so that seems like a good matchup. Of course, the Indians were a much better team at the time. Fantasy owners can prepare to activate Fausto for their teams, too.

Our View: He felt great following the outing, and thinks he is ready to return to the Indians, but the team has to make that decision. It is likely that the Indians' staff would like to see Carmona make at least one more start, and that could come this weekend with the Double-A Aeros.

''Fausto will play catch tomorrow,'' manager Eric Wedge said. ''He will have to go through some of [what he already had completed] that again, but he won't start from ground zero.''

Our View: Before the hip set him back in his rehab work, Carmona was ready to begin his minor league rehab starts. There still hasn't been any talk about when the Indians' starter will be back in the rotation.

Our View: Carmona had completed a three-inning simulated game and reported soreness in his hip the following day. Carmona (4-2, 3.10 ERA) was originally scheduled to go out on a minor league rehab assignment over the weekend, but that plan was scrapped when the soreness set in.

Our View: Carmona strained the hip in a start against Texas on May 23 at Progressive Field. He went on the disabled list the next day. Carmona threw a 50-pitch, three-inning simulated game Monday at Class A Mahoning Valley. He returned to Progressive Field on Tuesday and complained of soreness in the hip. The hip was still sore today. He had been scheduled to make rehab starts on June 20 and June 25. If those went well, he would have been ready to rejoin the rotation. Now the Indians will play it as it comes and have yet to put a revised timetable for events to Carmona.

Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 6/14, 6:55 PM CT
Cleveland starter Fausto Carmona completed a successful bullpen session today and manager Eric Wedge hints he could be back sooner rather than later, according to MLB.com.

Our View: The Indians have been without the top starters since the 24-year-old Carmona went on the disabled list May 24 with a strained left hip. He is scheduled to thrwo a simulated game on Monday. If that goes well, Carmona will be sent to the minors for rehab starts.

Our View: The plan is for Carmona to throw on Saturday and then head out for his first rehab start next week. He is likely still a couple of weeks from returning, but his progress is encouraging.

Our View: Carmona only registered less than four walks in one of eight starts, and his control issues have prevented him from being a strong fantasy starter this season.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansMonday 5/12, 6:05 PM CT
Fausto Carmona pitched a complete-game five-hit shut-out on Monday afternoon extending the Jays offensive woes. It was Cleveland's second consecutive shutout over struggling Toronto. The 3-0 victory by Cleveland is the first of a day-night double-header. Carmona gave Cliff Lee a tough act to follow. Lee, 6-0 with a major league-leading 0.81 ERA, is scheduled to start the second game for the Indians.

Our View: Carmona, who has struggled with his command this season, showed slight improvement on Monday but still walked four batters while striking out three. This is a concern, especially since the Indians right-hander had Andy Fletcher, arguably one of the biggest strike zones among active umpires, calling his balls and strikes today.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSunday 5/11, 1:47 PM CT
Fausto Carmona and A.J. Burnett will need to wait a day for their duel. The Indians and Blue Jays were rained out on Sunday, and the clubs will play a double-header on Monday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer confirms.

Our View: Many fantasy leaguers won't need to make any adjustments here. This is mainly an FYI for leagues with daily transactions.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 5/6, 9:43 PM CT
Fausto Carmona held the Yankees to three runs over five innings on Tuesday. We say "held" because he issues six hits and five walks while striking out only two batters. Carmona threw only 52 of his 95 pitches for strikes.

Our View: Carmona has now walked 31 batters in 39.2 innings, which is awful. He should count his lucky stars that his ERA is somehow still at 2.95. Carmona can't keep this up and expect to win games or keep runs off the board.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansTuesday 5/6, 1:08 PM CT
Fausto Carmona will take the mound against New York tonight, and is yet to win at Yankee Stadium, according to MLB.com. Carmona is 0-0 with a 3.24 ERA in three career appearances in the Bronx.

Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 4/24, 9:59 PM CT
Fausto Carmona improved to 3-1 on the season despite allowing four runs in five innings on Thursday.

Our View: Carmona walked another four batters on the day and he now has 22 BB in 28 IP. He has been able to get by to this point, but if he doesn't reign in his stuff, it could get ugly quickly.
Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansThursday 4/17, 10:11 PM CT
Fausto Carmona allowed a run in 6.2 innings as the Indians defeated the Detroit Tigers 11-1 on Thursday night. Carmona allowed seven hits, struck out two and walked one in the win.

Fausto Carmona, P, Cleveland IndiansSaturday 4/12, 9:25 PM CT
Fausto Carmona set a career-high with eight walks on Saturday in just 3.1 innings which led three runs and his first loss on the year.

Our View: Carmona now has an amazing 17 BB in just 16.1 innings on the season meaning that there may not be a more deceiving number than his 2.20 ERA which certainly doesn't speak to how poorly he is really pitching right now.
