Sergio Mitre, P, New York YankeesMonday 9/21, 9:15 AM CT
Sergio Mitre has been removed from the Yankees' starting rotation, according to The Journal News. Chad Gaudin will replace him for the final two weeks of the regular season.

Our View: Finally. In 11 appearances (nine starts) for the Yanks this season, Mitre is 3-3 with a 6.88 ERA. He could make their postseason roster as a long-reliever, but it doesn't seem likely at this point.

Sergio Mitre got blown away by the Blue Jays on Sunday, surrendering 11 runs in just four innings, as the Yankees got blown out 14-8 in Toronto.

Our View: It's hard to see Mitre and his 7.02 ERA getting many more chances down the stretch.
Sergio Mitre, P, New York YankeesWednesday 9/2, 9:38 PM CT

Our View: Skipper Joe Girardi noted that Mitre's status is in question, and the club will know more on Tuesday. Chad Gaudin is preparing to make a spot-start if needed.

Sergio Mitre was in control from the hill in Saturday's 10-0 win over the White Sox at Yankee Stadium, as he only surrendered one hit over 6.1 innings. He had one walk and fired two strikeouts.

Our View: Mitre improved his record to 3-1, and bounced back well from his last start, when he was tagged for four earned runs over two innings at rival Boston.
Sergio Mitre, P, New York YankeesMonday 8/10, 9:39 PM CT
Sergio Mitre surrendered five runs (three earned) on six hits over five innings in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Jays at Yankee Stadium. He had one walk and six strikeouts, and gave up two homers.

Our View: Mitre was handed his first loss of the season, and allowed three or more earned runs in each of his five starts. He has a 7.04 ERA and is just an option for deeper fantasy leagues.
Sergio Mitre, P, New York YankeesWednesday 8/5, 9:36 PM CT
Sergio Mitre gave up three earned runs on eight hits over 4.1 innings in Wednesday's 8-4 win at Toronto. He had two walks and three strikeouts.

Sergio Mitre surrendered four runs (three earned) on eight hits over 5.2 innings in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Orioles at Yankee Stadium. He had one walk and four strikeouts.

Our View: The Yankees helped Mitre earn a win in his first start since 2007, and he is worth consideration as a flier for AL-only leagues if you need pitching help.
Sergio Mitre, P, New York YankeesTuesday 7/21, 6:05 PM CT
The Yankees have purchased Sergio Mitre's contract from the minors, according to TSN. Brett Tomko was designated for assignment to make room on the roster.

Our View: Mitre will start tonight's home game against the Orioles. He has not appeared in the majors since 2007, and is not a recommended fantasy option in his first back. He is certainly worth adding as a flier for AL-only leagues though. He held a solid 2.40 ERA over 45 innings in Triple-A prior to his promotion.
Sergio Mitre, P, New York YankeesFriday 7/17, 4:34 PM CT
According to the Associated Press, Yankees' pitcher Sergio Mitre will join the rotation and be the team's fifth starter while Chien-Ming Wang is on the DL. Mitre is expected to be called up by the team to start Tuesday in Baltimore.

Our View: Mitre has been very good in the minors this season, and he seems to be the best candidate for the job at this point. Fantasy owners may want to wait and see how he performs at this level before making a move on him, but AL-only leaguers who are desperate for starting pitching could use him this week.
Sergio Mitre, P, New York YankeesWednesday 7/15, 12:20 PM CT
According to the Sun-Sentinel, rehabbing starter Sergio Mitre is the most likely candidate to fill the fifth spot in the Yankees' rotation.

Our View: Assuming the Yanks don't make a deal, Mitre looks like the guy. He tossed eight shutout innings for Triple-A Scranton yesterday and is now 3-1 with a 2.40 ERA. In his seven starts he has racked up 35 Ks against just five walks. The Yankees would like move Xavier Nady to the 60-day DL to free up a spot for Mitre on the 40-man roster. He's worth a look in AL-only leagues and he should have no problem getting run support in New York.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that the Florida Marlins have released Sergio Mitre who underwent Tommy John surgery in July.

Sergio Mitre threw 30 pitches off a mound on Friday, the Miami Herald reports. He is on the DL due to a strained right forearm and has not pitched this year.

Sergio Mitre, P, New York YankeesTuesday 4/29, 9:10 PM CT
