Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresWednesday 9/23, 11:12 PM CT
Tim Stauffer pitched 4.2 sloppy innings on Wednesday night, allowing two runs while walking five, as the Padres beat the Rockies 6-3 at home.

Our View: He threw 101 pitches during his short time in the game. With a 3.58 ERA through 73 innings this season, however, he figures to get serious consideration for the Pads' 2010 rotation.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresFriday 9/18, 9:21 PM CT
Tim Stauffer gave up three earned runs on four hits over a mere three innings in Friday's 5-1 loss at Pittsburgh. He issued four walks with no strikeouts.

Our View: Stauffer had poor control tonight, evidenced by his four walks, and fell to 4-7 for 2009. He was a disappointment after only allowing one earned run in each of his previous three starts.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSunday 9/13, 12:14 AM CT
Despite allowing just one run in six innings on Saturday night, Tim Stauffer took a no-decision, as San Diego eventually beat the Rockies 3-2 in ten innings.

Our View: Stauffer is now a very solid 4-6 with a 3.31 ERA in 11 starts this season.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSunday 9/6, 10:24 PM CT
Tim Stauffer allowed three runs (only one earned) in 6.2 innings on Sunday, picking up his fourth win of the season, as the Padres won 4-3 in Los Angeles.

Our View: Stauffer has been a solid addition to the Padres rotation since joining in early July, going 4-6 with a 3.49 ERA. The only quibble would be his 1.38 WHIP, which is still acceptable, however. He could be a nice late round draft pick next season in mixed leagues.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresMonday 8/31, 11:26 PM CT
Tim Stauffer only allowed one earned run on seven hits over 6.2 innings in Monday's 3-1 win over the Nationals at Petco Park. He had three walks and five strikeouts.

Our View: Stauffer earned his third win of the season with his solid effort, and ends August on a high note. He allowed three or more earned runs in each of his previous three starts heading into tonight.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/26, 9:40 PM CT
Tim Stauffer allowed three runs in five innings on Wednesday, picking up only his second win of the season, as San Diego beat the Braves 12-5.

Our View: Stauffer has a solid 4.11 ERA and 1.39 WHIP, and is worth a look in deeper mixed leagues.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresFriday 8/21, 12:00 AM CT
Tim Stauffer fell to 1-6 on Thursday night, allowing four Cardinal runs in five innings, as San Diego lost 5-1 at home.

Our View: Stauffer still has a 3.95 ERA despite his unimpressive record, and is a fringe-option in mixed formats.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSaturday 8/15, 10:23 PM CT
Tim Stauffer was tagged for four earned runs on seven hits over five innings in Saturday's 7-3 loss at St. Louis. He had three walks and fired seven strikeouts.

Our View: Stauffer falls to 1-5, but still holds a decent 3.50 ERA. He has allowed two or less earned runs in five of seven starts, and his fantasy stock would likely be higher if he pitched for a better team.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSunday 8/9, 7:51 PM CT
Tim Stauffer only issued one earned run on five hits over five innings in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Mets at Petco Park. He had two walks and six strikeouts.

Our View: Stauffer pitched well, but was forced to take a loss due to poor run support. He is 1-4 over six starts, but holds a 2.90 ERA. He allowed one earned run in three of his last five starts, and is worth employing in NL-only leagues.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/5, 12:08 AM CT
Tim Stauffer only lasted five innings on Tuesday as the Padres fell to the Braves by a score of 9-2. Stauffer allowed three runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out two.

Our View: Stauffer wasn't bad tonight, but the Padres need him to last more than five innings when he starts. He has been pretty good as a starter so far this season, bu NL-only leagues are about the extent of his value at this point.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresThursday 7/30, 2:39 PM CT
Tim Stauffer pitched seven semi-stifling innings on Thursday, limiting the Reds to one run on seven hits, as the Padres won 7-4 to take three of four from the sinking Reds.

Our View: It was Stauffer's first win of the season, and his second-straight seven inning outing. With a 2.57 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and solid Ks-to-BBs ratio through four starts, he's worth a flier in mixed leagues if you are in need of pitching.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSaturday 7/11, 11:47 PM CT
Tim Stauffer only allowed two earned runs on four hits over seven innings in Saturday's 2-1 loss at San Francisco. He had one walk and racked up seven strikeouts.

Our View: He fared well in his first start since 2007, but was forced to take a loss due to poor run support from his teammates. He had a career 6.37 ERA heading into the game, and is only worth a look for deeper fantasy leagues.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSaturday 7/11, 10:09 AM CT
Tim Stauffer will make his first start since 2007 when the Padres play the Giants on Saturday, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View: He will be pitching as the Padres attempt to win just one day after getting no hit by Jonathan Sanchez. He is not worth an add in any format at this time.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSunday 5/25, 8:14 AM CT
Pitching prospect Tim Stauffer is out for the season, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. A surgeon repaired the Triple-A hurler's torn labrum on Friday, and he will need another year to fully recover.

Our View: The former first round draft pick had shoulder problems dating to 2003. Within a month after the Padres drafted him (in 2003), Stauffer told them his shoulder was ailing. The Padres still decided to sign him, though for nearly $2 million less than their original offer. At the time, they also said he might need shoulder surgery. He held no fantasy value for this season.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSaturday 3/8, 9:50 AM CT
Tim Stauffer has been shut down due to a shoulder ailment, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Specifics on what's bothering him weren't available, but he won't make his scheduled start against the Dodgers in China next weekend. Justin Germano will replace Stauffer on the mound for that game.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresMonday 8/27, 10:13 PM CT
The Padres optioned Tim Stauffer to Triple-A Portland on Monday. He had a 21.13 ERA in two starts with San Diego.

Our View: Fifteen hits and 18 earned runs in just under eight innings is brutal. He'll be lucky to get a September call-up.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresSunday 7/29, 6:59 AM CT
Tim Stauffer was recalled Saturday and will start Sunday at Houston, the AP reports. Stauffer was considered one of San Diego's top prospects a year ago but he's been all over the place since then. Keep your expectations low; he's only starting here because Chris Young was forced to the disabled list. Stauffer has a 5.34 ERA in 97 2/3 innings at Portland this year.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresWednesday 3/28, 10:54 PM CT
Tim Stauffer was sent down to Triple-A Portland Wednesday. He'll be in the running for a starting spot if and when the Padres have an injury in their rotation.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresMonday 3/19, 9:01 AM CT
A muscle strain above Tim Stauffer's right elbow is expected to keep him out of action for 5-7 days, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. He's expected to begin the season at Triple-A but appears to be a top call-up candidate.
Tim Stauffer, P, San Diego PadresWednesday 8/23, 2:08 PM CT
If Chris Young isn't healthy enough to pitch next Tuesday, Tim Stauffer will get another start, according to the Padres website. Stauffer pitched well in his only start this season, giving up one earned run in six innings while striking out two.
