Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 11/20, 10:35 AM CT
The Mariners remain interested in acquiring Tigers' starting pitcher Edwin Jackson, according to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated.

Our View: Jackson is due a raise from his $2.3 million 2009 salary, and the Tigers don't seem willing to pay it. With the Mariners more competitive than expected in 2009, they could be going for it in 2010. Pitching in Seattle's very spacious Safeco Park, much like Detroit's Comerica Park, Jackson could have another big season were he to be shipped to the Northwest.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 11/16, 4:51 PM CT
The Mariners are believed to be interested in Tigers' hurler Edwin Jackson, according to FOX Sports.

Our View: The two sides have talked, but nothing serious developed as of yet. The Mariners would use Jackson as a complement to ace Felix Hernandez, and he could benefit from playing his home game at pitcher-friendly Safeco if a deal is ultimately worked out.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 11/13, 1:49 PM CT
The Brewers are interested in trading for Tigers pitcher Edwin Jackson, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View: The Brewers declined Braden Looper's $6.5 million 2010 option to create payroll flexibility, and Jackson would be a much better, if not necessarily cheaper, alternative.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 11/10, 7:19 PM CT
Edwin Jackson is believed to be on the Tigers' trading block, according to FOX Sports.

Our View: Jackson had a fine 2009 campaign with Detroit, but the club is considering moving him to trim some payroll. He has a contract through 2010, and it is uncertain if the Tigers are in serious talks with any teams regarding a trade. Their 2009 payroll of $132MM was among the highest in the majors.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 10/2, 9:11 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was lit up for eight earned runs on seven hits over five innings in Friday's 8-0 loss to the rival White Sox at Comerica Park. He had three walks with five strikeouts, and was tagged for two homers.

Our View: Jackson suffered his worst loss of the season, and gave up five or more earned runs in four of his last five starts.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 9/27, 3:55 PM CT
Edwin Jackson got tagged for five runs in seven innings on Sunday, as the fading Tigers lost again, this time 8-4 at U.S. Cellular Field.

Our View: The loss dropped Jackson to 3-2 in September, and upped his ERA to an ugly 5.08 for the month.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 9/22, 9:12 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed seven hits over seven scoreless innings in Tuesday's 3-1 win at Cleveland. He had three walks with two strikeouts.

Our View: Jackson is back on track after giving up five earned runs in each of his previous two starts. He earned his 13th win of 2009, and needs one more to tie his personal season-high.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 9/22, 10:30 AM CT
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Tigers' starter Edwin Jackson may have been tipping his pitches over his past few starts. Jackson has allowed four home runs and ten run scored in his last two outings.

Our View: Pitching coach Rick Knapp believes that they have fixed the problem, so we will see in Jackson's start tonight if tipping pitches was the problem. Jackson has been outstanding all season, so expect him to bounce back in tonight's game against the Indians.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 9/17, 3:26 PM CT
Edwin Jackson got roughed up by the Royals on Thursday afternoon. He was touched for five runs on six hits and a walk over five innings before getting the hook and fell to 12-7 on the year after the 9-2 defeat.

Our View: Jackson has been one of the great fantasy surprises of the season, but he hasn't looked very good lately and could be hitting a wall. He has just one quality start in his last five outings and is already 12 innings pitched over his career high.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 9/12, 9:24 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed five runs in seven rough innings on Saturday night, taking a no-decision as Detroit lost 8-6 to Toronto at home.

Our View: He also allowed a season-high three home runs in his fourth straight non-quality start. He will have an opportunity to get back on track in his next start, however, as it is tentatively against the Royals.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 9/6, 3:53 PM CT
Edwin Jackson notched his 12th win of the season on Sunday as the Tigers came from behind again to beat the Rays 5-3. Jackson went eight innings and allowed three runs on six hits while walking three and striking out four.

Our View: Jackson is 12-6 with a 3.10 ERA on the season, and he has now won four of his last five starts. Jackson was a deserving All-Star this season, and he and Justiin Verlander are one of the better 1-2 punches in the AL.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 9/1, 9:17 PM CT
Edwin Jackson gave up four earned runs on nine hits over five innings in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Indians at Comerica Park. He had two walks with six strikeouts.

Our View: Jackson earned a win in three of his last four starts, and is 11-6 for the season. His 3.09 ERA leads the Tigers.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/26, 5:52 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was tagged for four earned runs on eight hits over 6.1 innings in Wednesday's 4-2 loss at the Angels. He issued four walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Jackson was dealt his sixth loss of 2009, and had his two-game winning streak snapped. He still carries a solid 2.96 ERA, and should bounce back fine for fantasy owners.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 8/22, 12:43 AM CT
Edwin Jackson earned his tenth win of the season Friday by holding the A's to two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He fanned five in the 3-2 win.

Our View: Jackson has been an incredible surprise this season. His 2.86 ERA is good for fourth in the American League and he now has three quality starts in four outings in August.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 8/15, 9:16 PM CT
Edwin Jackson gave up three earned runs on nine hits over six innings in Saturday's 10-3 win over the Royals at Comerica Park. He had two walks and three strikeouts, and allowed two homers.

Our View: Jackson did not have a strong outing, but the Tigers provided enough offensive firepower for him to pick up his ninth win of 2009. He has not taken a loss over his last five starts, and carries a solid 2.85 ERA.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 8/10, 9:55 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was tagged for four earned runs on nine hits over four innings in Monday's 6-5 loss at Boston. He had two walks and three strikeouts, and gave up two homers.

Our View: The Tigers tied the game at 5-5 in the seventh inning, so Jackson avoided a loss with a no-decision for his poor outing. He has not taken a loss over his last four starts and holds a solid 2.79 ERA, meaning he should be able to bounce back fine.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/5, 8:37 PM CT
Edwin Jackson only allowed two earned runs on three hits over eight innings in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Orioles at Comerica Park. He had two walks and racked up eight strikeouts.

Our View: Jackson enjoyed another solid outing with the contending Tigers, and improved his record to 8-5 with a 2.62 ERA. He allowed two or less earned runs in four of his last five starts.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 7/31, 11:30 PM CT
Edwin Jackson gave up three runs (only two earned) on eight hits over a mere four innings in Friday's 6-5 loss at Cleveland. He had one walk and five strikeouts.

Our View: The game took 13 innings to decide a winner, and Jackson ends the night with a no-decision. He is winless over his last three starts, but still holds a solid 2.64 ERA for the season.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 7/25, 6:54 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed three runs on eight hits and four walks over seven innings on Saturday. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision as the Tigers topped the White Sox in ten.

Our View: Jackson continues to pitch effectively, and it's hard to argue with the All Star's ERA (2.59), but his walks have been piling up this month. In four July starts he has walked 4, 2, 5 and 4 hitters respectively. Walks lead to runs, and if he keeps it up his ERA will eventually suffer.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 7/19, 5:26 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was the tough-luck loser on Sunday as the Tigers fell to the Yankees by a score of 2-1. Jackson went seven innings and allowed two runs on five hits while walking five and striking out four. Jackson is now 7-5 on the year.

Our View: Not the best outing of the season for Jackson, but seven innings and two runs is usually good enough to win. The five walks are too high and the four strikeouts a bit low, but the All-Star managed to put together a decent outing despite not having his best stuff. Unfortunately, opposing pitcher Joba Chamberlain did have his good stuff today, thus hitting Jackson with the loss.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 7/18, 9:02 AM CT
Edwin Jackson's start this weekend has been pushed from Saturday to Sunday, according to MLive.com.

Our View: Manager Jim Leyland is giving Jackson an extra day of rest after pitching in the All-Star game. In this shortened week, be sure to adjust your roster accordingly and have him going on Sunday.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 7/10, 9:14 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was in control in Friday's 5-1 win over the division rival Indians at Comerica Park, as he only issued one earned run on four hits over seven innings. He had two walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Jackson continues to pitch well with the Tigers, as he improved his record to 7-4, and lowered his ERA to 2.52. Keep him active in fantasy leagues.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 7/4, 6:24 PM CT
Edwin Jackson struck out nine in 6.1 innings of work on Saturday, but did not factor into the decision as the Tigers lost 4-3 to the Twins on the Fourth of July.

Our View: Jackson has come back to Earth after his blistering start, but is still pitching effectively and in line for his first All-Star appearance later this month.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 6/28, 5:44 PM CT
Edwin Jackson did not factor into the decision on Sunday in the Tigers' 4-3 win over the Astros. Jackson went seven innings and allowed three runs on five hits while striking out five.

Our View: Jackson had two starts this week and did not get a decision in either one. He was good again today, and he has solidified himself as a top fantasy pitching option. Fantasy owners should continue to run him out there every five days, and expect the consistency to continue all season.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 6/23, 8:51 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed two earned runs on four hits over seven innings in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Cubs at Comerica Park. He had four walks and seven strikeouts.

Our View: The Tigers were trailing 2-1 when Jackson exited, so he takes a no-decision rather than a win for his solid effort. He remains one of Detroit's best hurlers, as he holds a 2.40 ERA for the season.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 6/21, 2:27 PM CT
According to MLB.com, Edwin Jackson's next start will be pushed back to Sunday June 28th.

Our View: Fear not. Jackson is still healthy and cruising this season. Manager Jim Leyland just adjusted the Tigers' rotation so that the bullpen could get some extra rest by spreading out rotational workhorses Jackson and Justin Verlander.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 6/11, 7:04 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed two earned runs on five hits over five innings of work in Thursday's 4-3 loss at Chicago. He issued four walks with three strikeouts.

Our View: Other than the four free passes, it wasn't a bad outing for Jackson. He was dealt a no-decision, and has not taken a loss over his last three starts - and allowed two or less earned runs in each outing over that span. Keep him active in fantasy lineups for his next turn in the Tigers' rotation.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 6/6, 8:51 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was phenomenal on Saturday as the Tigers outlasted the Angels 2-1. Jackson threw a complete game and allowed one run on four hits while walking one and striking out five. He is now 6-3 on the year.

Our View: Edwin Jackson is officially for real. He had two strikeouts going into the ninth inning, and he proceeded to strikeout Abreu, Vlad, and Hunter to finish off the win. Jackson is a must play in all leagues at this point, and those of you who jumped on him early made a very good decision.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 5/31, 3:46 PM CT
Edwin Jackson shut down the Orioles' offense on Sunday as the Tigers beat Baltimore 3-0. Jackson went eight innings and did not allow a run on two hits while walking one and striking out seven.

Our View: Jackson has really turned into a very good fantasy pitcher. His ERA now sits at 2.30 on the year, and he has five wins to go along with it. He is a must own is all leagues at this point, but if for any reason he is available you need to get him right now.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 5/26, 10:08 PM CT
Edwin Jackson had the unfortunate task of opposing Royals' ace Zack Greinke on Tuesday, and he picked up the loss as his Tigers fell 6-1. Jackson went 6.1 innings and allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits while walking one and striking out two.

Our View: Not a bad outing for Jackson, but he would have had to have been nearly perfect to beat Greinke tonight. The concerning thing is the two strikeouts, but on the bright side he only walked one. Jackson is still a solid starter, and he should be owned in all leagues.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 5/21, 2:54 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed three earned runs on seven hits over eight innings in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Rangers at Comerica Park. He issued five walks and fired seven strikeouts.

Our View: It was not a strong outing for Jackson, namely as he allowed five free passes, but his teammates provided enough offensive support for him to claim his fourth win of the season. He has now won three straight starts, and only allowed one earned run over his previous two outings (14 innings).
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 5/15, 11:01 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was lights-out again on Friday in the Tigers' 14-1 win over the A's. Jackson went seven innings and allowed one run on six hits while striking out six.

Our View: Jackson has been outstanding for the Tigers so far this season, so it's no surprise he shut down the A's tonight. Jackson should be owned in all leagues, as it looks like he is finally living up to his potential.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 5/9, 9:38 PM CT
Edwin Jackson tossed a gem on Saturday against the Indians. He allowed just five hits and a walk over seven shutout innings in a 4-0 win. He improved to 2-2 on the season.

Our View: Jackson has been solid this season and is jumping off the waiver wire in mixed leagues. He's now 2-2 with a 2.60 ERA in seven starts and it looks like Detroit may have a decent rotation all of a sudden.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 5/4, 9:07 PM CT
Edwin Jackson fell to 1-2 on Monday as he took the loss for the Tigers against the Twins. Jackson went six innings and allowed five earned runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out seven.

Our View: Jackson was very good until he ran into trouble in the seventh. He did not record an out in the inning, and ended up giving up five runs total. Jackson did strike out seven and is still an option in all leagues even though he is only 1-2.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 4/18, 11:56 PM CT
Edwin Jackson has a stellar outing on Saturday night, allowing just five hits and a walk over 7.2 shutout innings. He earned the win and fanned six in the Tigers 2-0 victory over the Mariners.

Our View: Jackson is now 1-0 on the season with a 2.14 ERA in three starts and is picking up the slack for struggling Justin Verlander. He could be a solid pick up if you need pitching in an AL-only league or a diamond in the rough in mixed leagues.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 4/12, 2:52 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was rocked for four earned runs on five hits over six innings in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Rangers at home. He had three walks and three strikeouts, and gave up two homers.

Our View: Jackson struggled today at hitter-friendly Comerica Park, and avoided getting dealt a loss as the Tigers scored six runs in the eighth inning to bail him out.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 4/8, 9:38 AM CT
The Tigers have been very pleased with Edwin Jackson since acquiring him from the Rays, according to the Detroit News. He only allowed two hits, one earned run and one walk over 7.1 innings in Tuesday's loss to Toronto, and skipper Jim Leyland said, "He has been impressive all along. You could tell he was locked in."

Our View: Jackson has always had great stuff and has shown flashes of brilliance, but he has been inconsistent and will have a less than stellar bullpen backing him up in Motown.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 4/7, 9:18 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was sharp in his Tiger debut on Tuesday. He allowed one run on two hits in seven and one-third innings in Detroit's loss to Toronto.

Our View: Jackson did allow a home run, but he struck out four as well. His efficiency was impressive, as he needed only 89 pitches to nearly clear eight innings.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 3/28, 2:52 PM CT
Edwin Jackson looked dominant against Toronto on Saturday, giving up just one run off six hits and zero walks while striking out four in seven innings.

Our View: He's looked great in his past two appearances after getting roughed up in the previous two before that. He's always had wonderful stuff but has struggled greatly with consistency and will have to prove he can maintain his control if he is to ever live up to his potential.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 3/13, 3:30 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was not sharp against the Mets on Friday, giving up four runs off three hits (two of which were home runs) and two walks while striking out two in four innings.

Our View: Friday marked Jackson's second-straight poor showing. He'll have to step up his game over his final few spring outings if he wants to draw any consideration in fantasy drafts, even deeper AL-only ones.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 3/7, 5:53 PM CT
Edwin Jackson struggled with his control against Philadelphia on Saturday, giving up three runs (off a three-run home run) off one hit and three walks in three innings of work.

Our View: Jackson will serve as Detroit's No. 4 or 5 starter this season, and while he's always had fine talent, he's continually struggled with his control throughout his young career and must improve in that area before becoming much of a fantasy option.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 2/26, 2:39 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was solid in his spring debut with the Tigers today, as he threw two hitless innings in a 2-1 loss to Washington. He had one walk and three strikeouts.

Our View: This was a good start in his bid to earn a spot in the Tigers' crowded rotation, but he will have less solid support to succeed while leaving the AL Champion Rays.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 2/23, 5:26 PM CT
MLB.com reports that pitcher Edwin Jackson has been pegged for one of the top four spots in the Tigers rotation.

Our View: The Tigers have a lot of potential at their back end, and Jackson will still have to compete for his spot. Dontrelle Willis, Nate Robertson, Zach Miner, and prospect Rick Porcello are all said to be battling for the fifth starter's job. Jackson posted a 4.42 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP last season, while winning 14 games for the AL champion Rays.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 1/20, 2:10 PM CT
Edwin Jackson has inked a one-year deal with the Tigers worth $2.2 million to avoid salary arbitration, according to the LA Times. He can earn an addition $200,000, based on the number of innings pitched.

Our View: Jackson nailed down 14 wins last season, but held a poor 1.51 WHIP with the AL champion Rays, and looks to be a disappointment in 2009 with a less solid supporting cast in Detroit.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 12/12, 8:24 AM CT
The Tigers are excited about newly acquired pitcher Edwin Jackson and feel he can be a workhorse in their rotation, according to the Detroit News. Skipper Jim Leyland stated, "He can be a horse. He's a big, strong kid. I remember him a lot from the 2008 season. He can overpower you. The guy won 14 games. We like that."

Our View: Jackson hurled 183.1 innings for the Rays in 2008, but held a poor 1.51 WHIP. He also allowed 23 homers. The Tigers may be high on him, but he looks to be another disappointing starter for the Tigers' rotation to us, especially since the Rays' solid defense and bullpen won't be following him to the Motor City.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 12/10, 8:48 PM CT
Fox Sports reports that the Detroit Tigers are set to acquire right-hander Edwin Jackson from the Tampa Bay Rays for outfielder Matt Joyce, according to a major-league source.

Our View: The Rays had to move one of their starters with David Price set to join the rotation next season. They managed to fill one of their needs by acquiring Joyce, a left-handed hitting outfielder.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 10/10, 10:18 AM CT
What was expected is now official: the Tampa Bay Rays have put hurler Edwin Jackson on their ALCS roster and left outfielder Eric Hinske off, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View: This leaves the Rays with 11 pitchers on their roster. Jackson had a decent year, but will likely only be used as a long man out of the bullpen.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 10/9, 1:47 PM CT
The St. Petersburg Times indicates the Rays' have named pitcher Edwin Jackson to the ALCS roster, leaving out Eric Hinske. Hinske said, "They want to carry an extra pitcher and I'm the odd man out. That's how it is. It's something that I can't control. I'll be ready if somebody gets hurt. It's not about me, it's about the team winning ballgames. No reaction."

Our View: Jackson would likely serve as a fifth starter against Boston. He won 14 games in the regular season, with a 4.42 ERA and 1.51 WHIP.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 9/30, 4:27 PM CT
Edwin Jackson told Rays writer Marc Lancaster that he has been left off the post-season roster, according to The Tampa Tribune.

Our View: This news hasn't been officially announced yet, but given that the team doesn't need a fifth starter and that Jackson had a 7.90 ERA and a 1.94 WHIP over his last six appearances, the news certainly isn't a shock.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 9/19, 9:58 PM CT
Edwin Jackson continued his inconsistent month on Friday but this time for the positive. He threw 7.2 innings of one-run ball while scattering seven hits and a walk against the Twins. His record improved to 12-11.

Our View: He had lost his last three starts before Friday, the worst one coming September 14th against the Yankees when he gave up six runs in just two innings. Jackson is just 25 and with more discipline he could be a 15-20 game winner with the Rays.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 9/14, 4:39 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was at his absolute worst on Sunday as he was pounded for six hits and six runs by the Yankees while recording just six outs in his 11th loses of the year.

Our View: This is the second time in three starts that Edwin has failed to record 11 outs while allowing six runs. In three September starts he is sporting some hideous ratios: 10.95 ERA, 2.27 WHIP. He remains too inconsistent to count on.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 9/3, 10:33 PM CT
Edwin Jackson lost his ninth game of the season after struggling on Wednesday night against the red-hot Yankee offense. Jackson lasted only 3.1 innings after allowing six runs on 10 hits.

Our View: Jackson had a strong track record against the Yanks during his career, but currently the Bombers are playing with a purpose.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 8/28, 9:15 PM CT
Edwin Jackson looked tremendous on Thursday going seven strong innings to pick up his 11th "W" of the year. Jackson allowed only one run on the night and threw 70 of 106 balls for strikes.

Our View: Jackson remains a borderline value in mixed leagues due to low strikeout totals (5.34 K/9) and an average WHIP (1.42). He certainly has the talent to rip off a run of success, and he has gone four starts allowing two or fewer runs.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 8/22, 10:45 PM CT
Edwin Jackson walked five White Sox but overcame it to go six innings and allow just two earned runs to lead Tampa Bay to a 9-4 win over Chicago.

Our View: Jackson is on a great run, and has provided fantasy owners with a win in five of his last six starts.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 8/11, 1:30 PM CT
Edwin Jackson has won four straight starts and commented on his successful 2008 campaign, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Jackson said, "I can look back on last year and this year and it's a complete difference. But at the same time last year helped me get to where I am now. Once you feel like you've been as low as you can get, there's nothing else to lose, so shoot for the moon."

Our View: Jackson has also allowed two or less earned runs in four of his last six starts, and should remain active in fantasy lineups while he is in command.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 8/10, 6:12 PM CT
After getting the win today over Seattle, Edwin Jackson now has a victory in each of his last four starts. Jackson went seven innings and allowed just one earned run.

Our View: Jackson has seen his ERA drop to 4.07 now, and he is a very good option in AL-only leagues, and even those in mixed leagues wouldn't be crazy for giving him an opportunity.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 8/5, 10:17 PM CT
Edwin Jackson improved to 8-7 despite a mixed performance against the Indians on Tuesday. The right-hander allowed seven hits and three runs, walked four, and struck out four over 5.2 innings.

Our View: Jackson made his major league debut in 2003, and it's hard to believe he is still only 24. He is still figuring out how to pitch consistently, but he has been a solid AL-only option for much of the year.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/30, 2:51 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed two earned runs on seven hits over five innings in Wednesday's close 3-2 win over Toronto, with two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Jackson evened his record to 7-7, and has won two straight starts, with two earned runs issued in both outings. He is pitching well, and is worth starting in AL-only leagues again.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 7/9, 3:49 PM CT
Edwin Jackson pitched well in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Yankees, as he only allowed one earned run on six hits over 6.1 innings, with two walks and three strikeouts. The game was tied 1-1 when he exited and was issued a no decision.

Our View: Jackson has not been dealt a loss in his last four starts, and has allowed one earned run in each of his last two.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 7/4, 7:42 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was in top form on the mound in Friday's 11-2 win over the Royals at home, as he only allowed one earned run on four hits over eight innings, with one walk and two strikeouts.

Our View: Jackson improves to 5-6, and trimmed his ERA to 4.08. This was his first win since June 9.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 6/28, 10:11 AM CT
Hurler Edwin Jackson will return from suspension tonight, scheduled to take the mound for the Tampa Bay Rays as they face off against Pittsburgh in interleague action, according to the Sports Network.

Our View: Jackson sat out the Rays' last five games for his part in the brawl with the Boston Red Sox back on June 5. He last pitched last Saturday against the Houston Astros and received a no-decision after allowing two runs and five hits in 6 1/3 innings of his team's 4-3 win. The 24-year-old right-hander, who is 4-6 with a 4.35 earned run average this season, defeated the Pirates in his only other start against them back in 2005 while with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 6/22, 12:53 PM CT
As anticipated, Tampa Bay RHP Edwin Jackson has dropped his appeal with the league and will begin his five-game suspension today, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Jackson was one of five Rays who were doled out various punishments for their involvement in an on-field melee with the Red Sox on June 5. Jackson last pitched Saturday night, earning a no-decision in 6 1/3 innings against the Astros. With Monday's off-day, Scott Kazmir will pick up Jackson's next scheduled start in Pittsburgh on Friday, with Jackson throwing the second game at PNC Park.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 6/15, 6:10 PM CT
Edwin Jackson was lit up for six earned runs on five hits over five innings in Sunday's nightmarish 9-3 loss to the Marlins, with three walks and one strikeout. All of the damage came on a pair of three-runs homers, one by Wes Helms and the other by Mike Jacobs.

Our View: He has allowed at least four earned runs in four straight starts, and fell to 4-6 for the season, with 4.46 ERA. He should remain on your bench, and hopefully he can regain the magic he had at the start of the season.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 6/6, 4:47 PM CT
MLB suspended Edwin Jackson five games for his involvement in Thursday's altercation with the Red Sox.

Our View: Jackson should just have his next start pushed back, so this news doesn't hurt his owners too badly.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 6/4, 11:50 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed four runs on six hits, walked three and struck out four in the Rays 5-1 loss to the Red Sox.

Edwin Jackson wasn't at his best on Thursday allowing 10 hits and two walks in six innings to the White Sox as he also allowed four runs to fall to 3-4.

Our View: Jackson continues to be a solid arm for the Rays though he continues to be an enigma based on his stuff since it doesn't always lead to the desired result.

Edwin Jackson will take the hill tonight when the Rays host the White Sox, according to MLB.com. Jackson is 0-1 with an 8.71 ERA in two career starts against Chicago.

Our View: Jackson is only 3-3 this season but his ERA isn't bad at 3.47 and still holds a passable WHIP at 1.39. He has allowed one or less earned runs in four of his last six starts, and would have a better record if not for poor run support from his team-mates.

Edwin Jackson struggled all afternoon walking four and allowing six hits in 5.1 innings, but he limited the Cardinals to just one earned run in a no-decision.

Give full credit to Tampa Bay RHP Edwin Jackson, for he gave the Rays all he had and held them in a game that fell in their favor after 11 innings. Jackson pitched seven innings, failing to allow a single run on five hits, posting one walk and five strikeouts.

With Scott Kazmir nearing a return to the active roster, the team will have to make a decision on who to remove from the starting rotation. Edwin Jackson just might be that pitcher as several teams have shown interest in trading for him, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Jackson has long had a golden arm, and amazingly he is still only 24 years old, so one would think he could bring a nice little package in return if he is moved.
Edwin Jackson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 4/26, 10:06 PM CT
Edwin Jackson allowed only one run on five hits in seven innings for a no-decision on Saturday vs. Boston. He walked three batters and struck out four.

Our View: This is an encouraging showing for Jackson, who struggled in his previous two starts. Jackson has been feast or famine this season, allowing one run or less in three starts and five runs or more in two starts. He has ace-like stuff, but a 22/16 K/BB ratio in 30.1 innings leaves us expecting further inconsistency.
