Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 10/31, 3:46 PM CT
Phillies' beat writer Andy Martino is reporting that Greg Dobbs will be available for Game 3 of the World Series Saturday night. Dobbs missed Game 2 due to an illness.

Our View: Dobbs reportedly had a fever that reached 102 degrees, but he is feeling much better today. He will be available off the bench for the Phils tonight, and will be so for the rest of the series.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 10/29, 4:27 PM CT
Greg Dobbs is not expected to play in tonight's Game 2 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium while dealing with the flu, according to MLB beat writer Todd Zolecki's twitter page.

Our View: Dobbs is a left-handed reserve, and is yet to chip in any hits over four plate appearances in the playoffs.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 9/16, 5:39 PM CT
Greg Dobbs (calf strain) has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.

Our View: Dobbs can now resume his role as utilityman/pinch-hitter extraordinaire for Philadelphia.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 8/27, 8:43 AM CT
The Philadelphia Daily News reports that Greg Dobbs is set to begin a rehab program in Clearwater, Fla.

Our View: Dobbs has been diagnosed with a minor calf strain after injuring himself in a game against the Mets on August 21st. He will be eligible to rejoin the team on September 6th, assuming all goes well with his rehab.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 8/23, 10:30 AM CT
Greg Dobbs has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained calf.

Our View: Miguel Cairo has been recalled to take his place. Dobbs is batting .257 with five home runs in limited playing time this season.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 3/25, 12:15 PM CT
Greg Dobbs indicated that he is not fully recovered from his hamstring ailment and is expected to miss another 2-3 days, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View: Dobbs is a solid hitter with pop in his bat, but his fantasy value will be limited while serving as a backup at third base. He should be left for deeper NL-only leagues.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 1/16, 6:11 PM CT
Greg Dobbs re-signed with the Phillies on Friday avoiding arbitration, according to the Denver Post. The deal was a two-year, $2.5 million contract.

Our View: Dobbs was a capable bench player for the Phillies in 2008, batting .301 with nine home runs and 40 RBIs and could see increased playing time in 2009 as the club has been looking to upgrade offensively at third base. He only had five fewer home runs than starter Pedro Feliz in about half the at-bats.

MLB.com reports that Greg Dobbs will be the Phillies' DH in Game 2 of the World Series.

Our View: Dobbs hit .301 with nine home runs and 40 RBI in 226 at-bats. Matt Stairs seems like a more obvious selection but he was just 3-for-20 against James Shields in his career.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesFriday 10/17, 5:34 PM CT
When the Phillies play in Boston where the DH will be in play, look for Greg Dobbs to be in the starting lineup, according to MLB.com. However, the club could also put Pat Burrell at DH and use Geoff Jenkins in the outfield.

Our View: The club hasn't decided if Ryan Howard will DH with Dobbs playing first base because of his better defense (did you realize that Howard made 19 errors this past season?), or if Dobbs would DH. Basically either Dobbs or Jenkins will be on the field with the other coming off the bench.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 9/21, 10:27 PM CT
Greg Dobbs was taken out of the Phillies game in the seventh inning after making a diving stab on a ball as he apparently hurt his ankle on the play, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Pedro Feliz replaced Dobbs and figures to play out the string at the hot corner if Dobbs is unable to go. Hopefully we will have more details on the injury on Monday.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 9/7, 4:21 PM CT
Greg Dobbs had a double, home run, scored twice and knocked in three in a 2-for-4 performance Sunday against New York. The Phillies wound up with a 6-2 victory.

Our View: With just 192 at-bats, Dobbs does not see enough regular playing time to be considered for fantasy purposes, but he has had a nice season, and his average is now over .300.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 8/14, 10:43 PM CT
Greg Dobbs was taken out of Thursday's lineup with a quad injury, according to Phillies.com. "I came to the honest realization that I was, at best, 60 or 70 percent," he said.

Our View: The injury does not appear to be serious, as Dobbs said he was available to pinch-hit. His fantasy value is minimal because of his lack of regular playing time.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesMonday 7/7, 5:37 PM CT
Greg Dobbs is starting at third base on Monday night in place of regular Pedro Felix. The Mets and Phillies are playing the final game of a four-games series at Citizen Bank Ballpark.

Our View: Dobbs has played in 71 games this year, but has only 111 at-bats. The utilityman is hitting .324 with two home runs and 18 RBI on the season.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesSunday 6/15, 12:32 PM CT
Greg Dobbs is starting at third base today in the final game of the three-game tilt against the Cardinals in St. Louis. The veteran Pedro Feliz will take the day off.

Our View: Dobbs has played in 59 games this year, hitting a lofty .364 in 88 at-bats -- and has two home runs, 18 RBI and 10 runs scored. The reserve has one stolen base in two attempts.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 5/21, 1:32 PM CT
Greg Dobbs tweaked his back while fielding a ball during batting practice on Monday, according to the Philadelphia Enquirer. He said he was feeling much better, although he still had some tightness in the area.

Our View: Dobbs holds little fantasy value as a backup third baseman, but he is providing solid depth to the Phillies' bench, as he holds a .356 average over 59 at-bats, with two homers, 13 RBI, and seven runs scored. He also chipped in one stolen base.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 4/23, 10:23 PM CT
Greg Dobbs hit his second home run of the season for the Phillies as he started over Pedro Feliz and hit in the number two hole in the lineup.

Our View: Feliz continues to struggle along with a .225 average, while Dobbs is hitting a robust .379 in 29 AB on the year threatening to take some playing time away from Feliz in the short-term.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 5/12, 11:26 PM CT
Greg Dobbs went 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in Saturday's win over the Cubs. Dobbs will probably see regular at-bats at first base while Ryan Howard (quad strain) is on the disabled list.
Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesWednesday 1/17, 9:35 AM CT

Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesSaturday 9/9, 12:14 AM CT

Greg Dobbs, 3B, Philadelphia PhilliesThursday 8/17, 12:17 AM CT
The Mariners optioned Greg Dobbs to Triple-A Tacoma Wednesday, according to the AP. He hit .294 for the Mariners, but he only had 17 at-bats.
