Our View: The 30-year-old outfielder failed to make an impact during time with the Cardinals and Marlins, and is not expected to be fantasy-worthy if he manages to earn a spot as a reserve with Houston.

John Gall signed a minor league deal with the Astros on Monday, according to the Astros' official site.

Our View: Gall was waived by the Marlins last season after getting just four at-bats in three games.

The Marlins signed John Gall to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Gall left the Cardinals' Triple-A club last season to play in Korea. He'll compete for a job as a backup outfielder and first baseman.
