Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 10/3, 2:40 PM CT
Making his first start since May 16 with the Nationals, Daniel Cabrera walked three and struck out one in five innings of three-run ball on Saturday. The Diamondbacks lost 5-0 at Wrigley Field.

Our View: The start was garnered by necessity and not merit, and Cabrera is a long shot to be starting for any team in 2010.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 9/4, 8:22 AM CT
Daniel Cabrera has been added to the Diamondbacks' major league roster, and will join the team in Denver on Friday, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View: Before being released by the Nationals in May, Cabrera was having a very typical Cabrera season, going 0-5 with a 5.85 ERA, while walking 35 batters in only 40 innings pitched. He's not an option in any format.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 8/3, 7:16 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera has agreed to a minor league deal with the Diamondbacks, according to the Arizona Republic. He will be sent to Triple-A Reno if he passes his team physical.

Our View: He held a 5.85 ERA and 2.08 WHIP over 40 innings (eight starts) with Washington this season, and his fantasy stock does not look to improve much if he works his way into Arizona's rotation.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 5/28, 3:11 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera is reportedly on the Marlins' radar after the Nationals designated him for assignment earlier in the week, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Our View: Cabrera was terrible with the Nationals as he held a 5.85 ERA and issued 35 walks over 40 innings, but could actually benefit by playing with a better supporting cast in Florida. The Marlins could use pitching depth.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 5/27, 6:58 AM CT
Daniel Cabrera has been designated for assignment by the Nationals, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Cabrera struggled this season, namely with wild pitches, and the club did not have a spot for him in the rotation or bullpen. GM Mike Rizzo noted that he grew tired of watching Cabrera pitch.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 5/20, 5:20 PM CT
The Washington Post is reporting that the Nationals have removed Daniel Cabrera from the rotation and placed him in the bullpen. He will be replaced in the rotation by rookie Craig Stammen, who will be called up to start on Thursday.

Our View: Cabrera had been terrible this season, so this move is not a big shocker. As it stands right now, the Nats' rotation consists of four rookies and one second-year player. Cabrera will pitch in long relief for the team, and any fantasy value he had is gone now that he is in the pen.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 5/16, 10:34 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera was terrible again on Saturday in the Nationals' 7-5 loss in the second game of their doubleheader. Cabrera went five innings and allowed seven runs on eight hits while walking four and striking out three.

Our View: Cabrera isn't very good. He should not be owned in any leagues at this point considering he plays on a bad team and he is a bad pitcher.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 4/26, 1:55 PM CT
The Nationals are trying to figure out why Daniel Cabrera is only throwing in the low-90s when he should be consistently in the mid or high-90s. The problem may be that Cabrera is trying to hard to throws strikes and has tweaked his lower body mechanics. "What I'd like him to do is get back to where he was when he first came up, because I think once he gets there, he can make some tweaks that will help him be more consistent in the zone," pitching coach Randy St. Claire tells the Washington Post. "I'd rather have 96 and wild than 89 and wild."

Our View: Cabrera still stinks even when he is throwing 97 mph. The only good thing that could come of this discussion would be that Cabrera would start generating more strikeouts, but his other numbers will almost certainly still stink.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 4/25, 4:00 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera allowed 10 base runners in just 2.1 innings on Saturday as his record fell to 0-2 with the loss to the Mets. On the day, Daniel walked four, allowed six hits and struck out only one batter.

Our View: Cabrera simply cannot be rostered in anything but the deepest of NL-only leagues as he continues to be a virtually batting practice machine for hitters. With just seven strikeouts in 18.2 innings, what has happened to the man who racked up 157 Ks in just 148 innings in 2006?
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 4/13, 5:40 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera took a no decision in Monday's 9-8 loss to the Phillies. He went 5 innings and gave up four runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out two.

Our View: Cabrera pitched much better in this outing than his last, but his defense couldn't help him out. This start should be slightly encouraging for Nats fans, but it doesn't have any effect on his fantasy standing.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 4/8, 2:31 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera was rocked for five earned runs on seven hits over six innings of work in Wednesday's 6-4 loss at the Marlins, with two walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: The former member of the Orioles failed in his bid for a solid season debut with the Nationals. He held a 5.05 ERA over 841.1 career innings with Baltimore, and should not be held outside of deeper NL-only leagues.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 3/29, 1:34 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera was scratched from today's game against the Marlins due to neck spasms, according to MLB.com. He is considered day-to-day. Skipper Manny Acta said, "We have to see how he is today and plan accordingly. He is not a guy to worry about because he pitched in winter ball. He has been stretched out and all that."

Our View: Cabrera won't be a good source for strikeouts, and his likely high WHIP and ERA should keep him reserved just for deeper NL-only leagues.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 3/12, 3:59 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over 3.2 innings Thursday. He struck out two batters.

Our View: Cabrera's start was par for the course. He isn't really raising any eyebrows this spring and until he shows drastic improvement he is a fantasy no-no on draft day. Last year's 5.25 ERA and 1.61 WHIP will attest to that.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 3/6, 5:57 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera walked and struck out two while allowing one earned run on four hits in two innings Friday.

Our View: The underachieving 27-year-old is coming off the worst season of a rather undistinguished career, and given that his K/9 mark has fallen from 9.55 to 4.75 in just three years, his value is at an all-time low.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 2/28, 7:11 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera wasn't sharp to start out the spring for the Nationals, allowing two runs on four hits in two innings. Only one of the runs was earned, but this start was still less than ideal.

Our View: Cabrera was a bit of a risk for the Nationals, as he's been inconsistent since being rushed to the majors by Baltimore. He may never get it together at this point.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 2/22, 5:05 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera has decided not to throw for the Dominican Republic, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: We're not sure how the Dominicans will get by without Cabrera and his unique ability to walk any batter that steps to the plate, but our guess is they'll figure it out.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 12/29, 2:56 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera passed his physical, which formalized his one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Nationals, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: He underwent MRI exams on his throwing shoulder and elbow as part of his physical, as he spent time on the DL in 2008 after experiencing pain and tingling in his right elbow during a side session. That is part of the reason the Orioles did not decide to retain him.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 12/23, 7:11 AM CT
Daniel Cabrera was offered slightly more money by the Pirates but opted to ink with the Nationals instead, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View: He turned down the Pirates because he wanted to remain in the Beltway area. It remains to be seen if the Pirates will pursue another starting hurler this off-season.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 12/20, 3:30 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Nationals, according to the Hot Stove Blog on MLB.com. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the deal is pending a physical.

Our View: He will fill the spot in the rotation left open by Tim Redding. Cabrera managed to join a club worse than the Orioles, and his fantasy stock does not look to be on the rise for 2009.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 12/16, 7:38 PM CT
The Blue Jays are not one of the teams to have offered Daniel Cabrera a contract, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Cabrera's potential is the reason why he has 11 clubs interested at this point, but it's hard to tell if he'll ever reach it.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 12/16, 8:13 AM CT
It has been revealed that the Pirates are one of the 11 clubs interested in hurler Daniel Cabrera, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View: Cabrera has a strong arm, but can be wild and erratic, which is part of the reason why Baltimore let him go. The Pirates could use pitching help, but Cabrera may only add to their woes.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 12/15, 3:47 PM CT
There are reportedly 11 MLB clubs interested in hurler Daniel Cabrera, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: None of the prospective suitors were disclosed, but it is believed one offered him a multi-year deal. Cabrera held a poor 1.61 WHIP and 5.25 ERA over 180 innings with Baltimore in 2008, but perhaps he can benefit from a fresh start, namely with a better team.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 12/12, 10:45 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera was non-tendered by the Orioles on Friday, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: Cabrera could be the most sought after of non-tendered players as he still has tremendous upside if he can find a club that could help him harness that potential.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 12/2, 9:01 AM CT
The Mets could be interested in Daniel Cabrera if the Orioles decide not to tender his contract (by December 12), according to NYBaseballDigest.com.

Our View: The Mets would consider him an option to compete with Jon Niese for the No. 5 spot in the rotation.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 11/29, 4:40 PM CT
The Orioles still haven't decided what to do with starting pitcher Daniel Cabrera, according to MASN Sports. The Orioles have to tender Cabrera a contract by December 12th and could risk going to arbitration.

Our View: Cabrera has amazing potential but it may go unfulfilled. He's already 27 and will turn 28 in May of 2009. His biggest issue is consistency, as he gets shelled just as often as he is dominant.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 11/3, 10:31 AM CT
Daniel Cabrera is reportedly on the Orioles' trading block, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: Cabrera did not need surgery on his sprained right elbow, but fell out of favor with the Orioles, as he held a dismal 5.25 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 30 starts in 2008. He could benefit from a fresh start with another club.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 10/2, 7:48 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera received a second opinion on his sprained right elbow, which revealed no further damage, according to the Baltimore Sun. Cabrera was examined earlier this week by University of Miami orthopedist John Uribe.

Our View: Orioles' GM Andy MacPhail indicated that Cabrera will not require surgery, and just needs rest and time off.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 9/20, 2:36 PM CT
Orioles hurler Daniel Cabrera was put on the disabled list with a sprained elbow, and will need six to eight weeks of rest for it to heal, according to the AP.

Our View: Cabrera was not a quality fantasy starter this season, with an ERA of 5.25 and 90 walks in 180 innings. That's far too many to be effective.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 9/18, 6:52 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera will not pitch again in 2008. On Thursday, Cabrera underwent an MRI on a sore right elbow. The scan showed no structural damage but to be safe the Orioles shut him down, according to the AP.

Our View: Cabrera had an ERA of 5.25 this year and gave up 24 home runs for the Orioles. Some pundits have said that he has pitched his last game for Baltimore.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 9/18, 9:16 AM CT
Daniel Cabrera will have his ailing right elbow examined today, and could be shut down for the remainder of the season, according to the Baltimore Sun. He felt some tingling in the elbow yesterday during a pen session.

Our View: Cabrera is expected to make about $5 million in arbitration this season, and holds a 48-59 career record with a 5.05 ERA. He may have pitched his last game with the Orioles. Manager Dave Trembley is uncertain who would pitch Saturday in his place.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 9/17, 6:24 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera will miss his next start according to sportsline.com. He experienced pain in his elbow during a Wednesday throwing session. He also experienced elbow pain in August but his MRI was negative then.

Our View: Right-hander Radhames Liz will move up one day to start Friday when the Orioles open a three-game series against the New York Yankees. Left-hander Chris Waters will start Sunday's final regular season game at Yankee Stadium, but Trembley wouldn't say who will handle the middle game.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 9/14, 10:30 AM CT
The Washington Post reports Cabrera's velocity remained in the high-80s and low-90s during Saturday's start. He picked up his 10th loss of the season after allowing four runs in 5.1 innings.

Our View: It has been another discouraging season for Cabrera, but the red flags are even brighter now. Usually he can be relied upon for strikeouts, but he has a terrible 4.75 K/9 this season. He will hardly be considered a sleeper anymore entering the 2009 season.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 8/29, 6:53 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera has started serving his six-game suspension Friday for throwing at the Yankees' Alex Rodriguez after the ruling was upheld by Major League Baseball, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: Cabrera will throw a side session Wednesday and then return to pitch the first game of the split doubleheader a week from Saturday against the Athletics. Chris Waters will move up a day in the rotation to fill Cabrera's next scheduled turn Saturday. Brian Burres will pitch Sunday.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 8/27, 3:50 PM CT
Orioles pitcher Daniel Cabrera took an MRI on his throwing arm, but the team found no damage to his elbow, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: Cabrera had seen a loss in velocity, which had concerned him, so the MRI was done to ensure there was nothing wrong. He will play catch tomorrow to see how he is feeling before the Orioles determine whether to put him back in the starting rotation.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 8/25, 5:23 PM CT
Orioles pitcher Daniel Cabrera will meet with doctors after his velocity had dropped noticeably in his last few starts, according to the AP. Orioles manager Dave Trembley did not seem overly concerned, saying, "I guess they'll check his arm. ... I'm not trying to diminish if there's something wrong with his arm, but I think the guy is disappointed. He's upset with himself."

Our View: Trembley's expert medical opinion aside, Cabrera has been very bad of late, giving up at least six earned runs in three of his past five starts. His fantasy value, not great to begin with, plunged even further during that time.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 8/24, 4:46 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera did not have a good outing, failing to get through four innings against the Yankees, surrendering seven runs on nine hits while walking three in the Orioles 8-7 loss to the Yankees.

Our View: Cabrera did not get the loss because his team scored some runs, but he probably deserved to. He allowed at least six earned runs in three of his five August starts.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 8/14, 9:51 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera threw a solid game, though he did not factor into the decision as Baltimore beat Cleveland 11-6. Cabrera went 5.2 innings, surrendering three runs on eight hits.

Our View: Cabrera is far too inconsistent to be trusted in most fantasy leagues, as he simply walks far too many people.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 8/9, 9:31 PM CT
Baltimore RHP Daniel Cabrera had a full passion bucket working off the mound tonight, pulling the 9-0 win over the Texas Rangers. Cabrera pitched six innings, allowing just four hits, three walks, and three strikeouts through the shutout performance.

Our View: Cabrera moves to 8-7 on the season, touting an ERA of 4.78. This is just his second win over his last seven starts, a stretch that has allowed his ERA to explode.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 8/3, 9:55 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera walked only two batters on Sunday but he still permitted seven runs, six earned, over six innings against the Mariners. As a result, Cabrera fell to 7-7 on the season.

Our View: Cabrera has squandered all the love that he built with a strong start to the season by allowing six or more runs in three of his last four appearances. Even those in deep AL-only leagues are taking their chances starting the tall righty.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 7/31, 5:15 PM CT
Orioles pitcher Daniel Cabrera was suspended six games and fined for throwing at Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez on Tuesday, according to the AP.

Our View: Cabrera has seven wins, but a terrible K/BB ratio (80/66), and should only be used in deep AL-only leagues.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 7/29, 9:49 PM CT
Baltimore RHP Daniel Cabrera found his seventh win of the season against the Yankees tonight despite a strong effort to ruin the outing by relief pitching. Cabrera pitched seven innings, allowing three runs (all earned) on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Cabrera now sits at 7-6 on the season with a 4.81 ERA, evening out at 2-2 for July despite a worrisome 23 earned runs allowed through six starts.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 7/24, 3:09 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera was torched by the Blue Jays on Thursday. In five innings he gave up 11 hits and seven earned runs. He recorded three strikeouts and two walks.

Our View: Cabrera is as inconsistent as they get and owners are better off without him. He has five or so great starts a year, but more often than not, he just allows too many baserunners to be effective.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 7/13, 6:02 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits, walked six and struck out two and the Orioles lost their 48 game of the season to Boston 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Our View: Cabrera, like opposing pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, struggled with his command. None of the blame can go to the home plate umpire in the game Ted Barrett. The veteran umpire is known for his large strike zone.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 7/2, 8:52 PM CT
Baltimore RHP Daniel Cabrera enjoyed a strong performance on the mound tonight, leading the way for the Orioles' 5-2 win over the Kansas City Royals. Cabrera pitched a complete game, allowing just two earned runs on seven hits with no walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Cabrera needed this win, going 3-1 through May only to fall in June, going 0-3 with 23 total earned runs allowed over five starts (7.06 ERA through the month). Tonight could signal a return to the joys of May where Cabrera registered a much more tasty 3.14 ERA.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 6/15, 4:23 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera allowed four earned runs on six hits over six innings in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Pirates, with five walks and two strikeouts.

Our View: Cabrera has now allowed 16 earned runs over his last three starts, and his five walks today tied his second worst tally of the season.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 6/11, 10:33 PM CT
Orioles pitching coach Rick Kranitz spoke with the media today and believes RHP Daniel Cabrera is struggling due to flaws in his delivery, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View: In his past two outings, Cabrera has allowed 12 earned runs and 15 hits spanning 11 innings, squandering three-run leads in each outing. After allowing six earned runs to the Boston Red Sox in the series opener Tuesday, Cabrera said he's having problems getting his two-seam fastball down in the zone. Kranitz notes that Cabrera's delivery is inconsistent but believes the work needed to get him back on track will be minimal. Kranitz is going to review tape of Cabrera's delivery from last season to indicate differences between then and now, hoping he can get the hurler to adjust to his old style of comfort.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 6/10, 12:03 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera will battle the Red Sox at Fenway Park tonight, according to MLB.com. Cabrera is 5-2 with a 3.98 ERA and favorable 1.28 WHIP.

Our View: Cabrera has been pitching well, but fell off track in his last outing on June 4 as he was rocked for six earned runs in a 7-5 loss to Minnesota. He only allowed five earned runs over two starts (14 innings) in May against the Red Sox, and still merits fantasy consideration for your lineup tonight.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 6/4, 10:12 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera lost for the first time in six starts as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Baltimore Orioles 7-5 on Wednesday night. The right-hander allowed six runs on eight hits, walked none and struck out three.

Our View: Another start where the enigmatic Cabrera didn't walk a batter. While that's the positive note in the outing, his line drive percentage was high as the Twins squared up on the ball most of the night. The right-hander didn't have the typical movement on his fastball, which might be part of the reason he didn't walk a batter in the loss.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 5/30, 11:10 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera only surrendered two runs on six hits over seven innings in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Red Sox, with two walks and two strikeouts. The game took 13 innings to decide, and Cabrera left with a no decision.

Our View: He is still 5-1 for the season, and lowered his ERA to 3.60. This was yet another solid outing for him.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 5/29, 5:58 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera is working on an extended run of some of the best work in his career and it's largely through the work he has put in to hone his considerable skills, according to MLB.com. "I think his work ethic is improved," added manager Dave Trembley. "He's a lot more consistent with his effort. I think it's just a matter that he's matured, he's grown up and he's gotten a taste of some success, which he's never had before."

Our View: Cabrera still brings with his tremendous right arm considerable risk given his propensity to walk too many batters, but it really seems like he might have turned the corner. Of course, we have thought that before, so if someone presents you a solid offer for the tall righty, you might still want to listen.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 5/25, 6:01 PM CT
Baltimore RHP Daniel Cabrera suffered through a troublesome day on the mound at the Orioles fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4. Cabrera pitched 5 2/3 innings, surrendering four runs (all earned) on nine hits with a whopping six walks versus just one strikeout.

Our View: Cabrera was riding three consecutive wins coming in but takes the no-decision today. Despite the worrisome walk/strikeout ratio today, he now sits at nine walks versus 21 strikeouts on the month.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 5/20, 10:14 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera allowed two runs on five hits, walked none and struck out four in a huge 12-2 win over the free-falling Yankees. Even the return of Alex Rodriguez couldn't help New York on Tuesday night.

Our View: Cabrera continues to show signs of being the pitcher he's been projected to be for a handful of years. The right-hander pushed his record to 5-1 and lowered his ERA to 3.48.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksTuesday 5/20, 12:18 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera will challenge the Yankees tonight in the Bronx, according to MLB.com. Cabrera has thrown seven straight quality starts, and holds a 4-1 record with a 3.58 ERA and 1.23 WHIP.

Our View: Alex Rodriguez is set to return to the Yankees tonight, and will provide a spark, but Cabrera is still worth consideration, especially in AL-only leagues.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 5/14, 4:56 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera allowed three runs on 10 hits, walked none and struck out three in winning his fourth game against one loss. Cabrera worked a strong seven innings, made pitches when he needed them and stranded a boat load of runners.

Our View: One can't count the number of times Cabrera has put together two strong outings. But one also can't count on Cabrera until he shows he can put at least a half a season together. Cabrera came in 1-9 with a 7.84 ERA in 11 career starts against Boston. He had lost seven straight to the Red Sox since 2005.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksThursday 5/8, 10:38 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera threw a complete game three hitter to improve to 4-0 in his career against the Orioles. Cabrera struck out seven and walked one in his fifth career complete game.

Our View: Is this the start of the long awaited breakout for one of the most talented arms in the game? This marks six straight quality starts for Cabrera who has allowed two or fewer runs in five of those outings. If he is somehow still on waivers pick him up and take a shot.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 5/3, 5:30 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera was dealt his first loss of the season on Saturday, as the Orioles fell to the Angels 3-1. Cabrera allowed three runs on six hits over 7.1 innings, with two walks and six strikeouts.

Our View: Cabrera is now 2-1 for the season, with a 4.06 ERA. It was a quality start for him today, but received poor run support.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 4/28, 7:14 PM CT
The Baltimore Sun suggests that despite Daniel Cabrera's seven walks in Monday's start against the White Sox, he is showing growth. The big right-hander allowed two runs on four hits and struck out two.

Our View: One of his runs allowed came on a Carlos Quentin sixth inning home run. The Monday afternoon game between Baltimore and Chicago ended, for now, in a 3-3 tie. Play was suspended after 11 innings Monday because of rain. The game will resume later this season, but no date was immediately announced.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 4/23, 11:46 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera was wonderful on Wednesday night as he allowed only five hits and no walks over eight innings in his second victory of the year.

Our View: The best news on the night was the fact that Cabrera didn't allow a single walk. If he can limit the walks and trust his stuff, he could be in for a huge campaign. Of course, he could also walk every third batter, so you have to be careful with him.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 4/21, 9:22 AM CT
The Orioles have adjusted their rotation for the upcoming series against the Mariners. Jeremy Guthrie will work on Tuesday, Daniel Cabrera was moved up from Thursday to Wednesday, and Adam Loewen was shifted back one day, the Baltimore Sun reports. The moves were made due to Monday's off-day.

Our View: Loewen is the one being thrown off the five-day schedule, which isn't surprising. We all know how important it is to keep Cabrera on track. Orioles fans might worry if they couldn't watch him struggle to find the strike zone every five days.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksFriday 4/18, 9:42 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera was on his game on Friday night as he permitted just two runs in six innings to pick up his first win of the year against the Yankees. Cabrera allowed five hits and only two BB on the night.

Our View: When Cabrera throws the ball in the strike zone and trusts his stuff, outings like this one are common place. Unfortunately, the norm is nothing like this and more often than not he pounds the backstop with his pitches.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 4/12, 9:17 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera pitched his best game of the season on Saturday night as he allowed just one run over 6.2 innings to the Rays.

Our View: A big key on the night was that he allowed only three walks, though to be fair that is still too high a number for less than seven innings pitched. Cabrera will continue to taunt his owners with an and down performances until he throws strikes more consistently.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSaturday 4/12, 1:20 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera is set to take the hill against the Rays today, and notably has an unbeaten record against them, according to MLB.com. Over 11 career games against the Rays, Cabrera is 6-0 with a 3.63 ERA.

Our View: It sounds like Cabrera will have a good chance to pick up his first win of 2008 today. He will be looking to trim his 9.00 ERA as well.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksMonday 4/7, 5:14 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera had another rough outing on Monday as he allowed five hits and four walks, not to mention four runs, in six innings of work. Cabrera was actually done in today by allowing a couple of home runs, but until he get that amazing stuff under control, he is nothing more than a bench pitcher in AL Only leagues.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksWednesday 4/2, 1:22 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera is set to take the mound against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, according to the Sports Network. Cabrera was inconsistent in 2007, but fared well against the Rays as three of his nine wins came against them. For his career, Cabrera is a stellar 6-0 with a 3.04 ERA versus Tampa Bay.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 3/23, 3:05 PM CT
Daniel Cabrera surrendered three runs on five hits over 4.1 innings against Minnesota on Sunday (with four walks), and was ultimately dealt his first loss of the spring. He now sits at 2-1 with a 3.12 ERA as he aims to be the Orioles' middle of the rotation starter.
Daniel Cabrera, P, Arizona DiamondbacksSunday 3/16, 3:50 PM CT
The Orioles are trying to get Daniel Cabrera to stand taller on the mound and throw downhill; he did that Sunday and looked great before tiring in the sixth inning, according to the Baltimore Sun. Cabrera allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings Sunday, while striking out five batters and walking just one. He still carries a lot of potential, and maybe the O's are figuring out a way to help him gain some consistency.

Daniel Cabrera needed 31 pitches to get out of the first inning of Tuesday's start against the Cardinals. He loaded the bases in the inning but struck out Chris Duncan to earn the final out. In the end, Cabrera allowed just one run and one hit over three innings, while striking out three. However, he walked five batters. Cabrera still has loads of potential, but unless he can finally figure out a way to become consistent, he's going to be a constant source of frustration for the O's and fantasy folk.

Daniel Cabrera , who was outstanding in his last trip to the mound for the Orioles pitching three shutout innings, continues to live up to his M.O. On Thursday, the talented right-hander gave up five runs in the first inning. He allowed three hits, walked two and threw a wild pitch. Cabrera simply can't be trusted. Owners just don't know what they are getting with Cabrera from game-to-game, or even pitch-to-pitch.

Daniel Cabrera had his stuff working on Saturday against Washington, pitching three shutout innings. The 0's talented right-hander gave up two hits and struck out one while facing 10 batters on the day. Cabrera had everything working and his command was abnormally outstanding. His 7-1 ground ball-to-fly ball ratio was also encouraging. Cabrera has been a breakout candidate for so many years, most sharp players avoid his inconsistent performances. If the hard-throwing righty can ever "get it" -- he will be a stellar mixed league option.

Daniel Cabrera was sharp in his second start of the year Monday, allowing just two runs over 7 2/3 innings against the Tigers. Most importantly for Cabrera, he didn't walk anyone and he didn't allow the Tigers any stolen bases; those two things were significant problems for him in his opening-day turn at Minnesota.

Daniel Cabrera will probably make a few more starts before the Orioles decide to make any significant changes aimed at preventing stolen bases, the Washington Post reports. Although Cabrera was effective in his first start of the year Tuesday (allowing three runs over seven innings, with nine strikeouts), the Twins also stole four bases against him. For what it's worth, Cabrera said after Tuesday's game he'd try to be quicker to the plate. "It's a fine line there," manager Sam Perlozzo said. "We can call some slide steps and things like that to get him a little bit better. But last year he was a lot better at it. We'll get him through the first start and then make adjustments after that."

He allowed four runs (three earned), seven hits and three walks over 6 2/3 innings. "His velocity was good, but he still didn't have command of his breaking ball," manager Sam Perlozzo said Wednesday. "It also sounded like he had some shaky defense behind him at one point. It's a step. We get that game behind him and see how he does next time."
