On Monday, the Padres recalled Oscar Robles from Triple-A Portland. He was hitting .309 with six RBI and six runs scored in 16 games with Portland this season. Aaron Rakers was optioned to Portland to clear room on San Diego's roster for Robles.

The Padres have inked Oscar Robles to a minor league contract, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. "He is a solid player,” said Padres third base coach Glenn Hoffman. "His instincts of the game are real good. He has a feel for the game."
