Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 10/1, 3:48 PM CT
Nate Robertson was hit with his third loss of the season on Thursday as the Tigers fell to the Twins 8-3. Robertson allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits while striking out two in his six innings of work.

Our View: Robertson wasn't great today, and a good performance could have sealed the division for the Tigers. Detroit is still in very good shape to make the playoffs, but they would have preferred to seal the deal today.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 9/20, 5:15 PM CT
Nate Robertson picked up a win in his spot-start on Sunday as the Tigers beat the Twins 6-2. Robertson went five innings and allowed two runs on five hits while walking three and striking out six.

Our View: This was a very solid outing for Robertson, as he was starting in place of Jarrod Washburn. Robertson might get another start or two before the season is out, but he still isn't worth much of a look for fantasy owners.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 9/18, 12:37 PM CT
MLB.com is reporting that Tigers' pitcher Nate Robertson threw a full bullpen session without discomfort on Thursday. Robertson is scheduled to start for the team Sunday in place of Jarrod Washburn.

Our View: Robertson appears to be completely healthy at this point, and he is going to go on Sunday for the team. He isn't worth an add at this point unless he absolutely dominates in this start, which seems highly unlikely.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 9/16, 7:34 PM CT
Nate Robertson is expected to make a spot-start Sunday in place of the ailing Jarrod Washburn (knee), according to MLB.com.

Our View: Robertson has been recovering from pelvic inflammation, but is apparently healthy enough to take the hill this weekend against the Twins. He is slated for a pen session tomorrow to insure he is ready.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 9/12, 4:09 PM CT
Nate Robertson has been diagnosed with pelvic inflammation after departting in the fourth inning of his start on Friday, according to MLB.com's Jason Beck.

Our View: He will likely miss at least one start. No word yet on who will take his turn in the rotation. In 35.1 innings this season, he has a 5.35 ERA.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 9/11, 8:37 PM CT
Nate Robertson exited Friday's game against the Jays in the fourth inning with an apparent groin strain.

Our View: The severity of the injury is yet to be determined. Armando Galarraga replaced Robertson on the hill.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 9/3, 3:34 PM CT
Nate Robertson pitched six shutout innings on Thursday, but took a no-decision, as Detroit blew a 3-0 lead before rallying to beat the Indians 4-3 in ten innings.

Our View: Robertson has posted a 0.90 ERA in ten innings (two starts) since being reinserted into the Tigers rotation, and is certainly worth a look in AL-only formats.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 8/29, 6:14 PM CT
Making his first start of the season on Saturday, Nate Robertson allowed just one earned run in four innings, but fell to 1-1 as the Tigers lost 3-1 to the Rays at home.

Our View: With a 6.84 ERA in 25 innings this season, Robertson doesn't appear poised to make any magic going forward.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 8/29, 10:44 AM CT
Nate Robertson is ready for today's start against the Rays at Comerica Park, according to the Detroit Free Press. He said, "I am not thinking beyond tomorrow. I do not think it would be very smart to do so. In any position thinking beyond the next game is not a good thing. So today I sm going to focus on the lineup, get the scouting report, have a game plan and obviously not worry about things popping up in my arm."

Our View: Robertson will be making his first start since last September. He was pleased with his control and velocity over his last two minor league starts, and noted that his slider started regaing its "old bite." The lefty is worth a look as a flier for AL-only leagues while replacing the struggling Armando Galarraga in the rotation.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/26, 7:49 PM CT
Nate Robertson has been activated from the DL following his recovery from left elbow surgery to remove a mass, according to the Sports Network.

Our View: Robertson will work in the rotation with Armando Galarraga demoted to the minors, and is slated to start Saturday against Tampa Bay. He is only worth a look for deeper fantasy leagues for now.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/26, 2:06 PM CT
Nate Robertson is expected to start for the Tigers on Saturday, according to the Twitter page of beat writer Jason Beck. Robertson is recovering from left elbow issues, and he has been on a rehab assignment.

Our View: Robertson will be starting in the place of Armando Galarraga, who was optioned to Triple-A today. Robertson has been good in his rehab stint, but fantasy owners should stay away from him for now. If he comes out and produces a few nice starts, then give him a look, but not before then.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/5, 8:06 AM CT
According to the Detroit Free Press, Nate Robertson allowed one run in 2.2 innings Tuesday night during his first rehab appearance.

Our View: Robertson's only earned run came via the long ball, but his elbow held up fine in the outing. He is scheduled to have at least three more rehab starts and then will be reevaluated. Barring any setbacks he should rejoin the team after that.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 8/2, 11:48 AM CT
Nate Robertson (elbow) will begin his rehab assignment at Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: He'll be joined by teammate Jeremy Bonderman (shoulder) on the assignment, and both could be back with Detroit before the end of the season if things go well. Still, the Tigers' acquisition of Jarrod Washburn pretty much confirmed that neither man will be contending for a starting gig this season, so don't bother with either one.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 6/30, 12:31 PM CT
FoxSports.com is reporting that Tigers' pitcher Nate Robertson underwent surgery on Tuesday morning to remove a tissue mass in his left elbow. Robertson's agent, Steve Canter, was quoted as saying that Robertson would be able to begin throwing in four weeks.

Our View: The surgery was a success, and apparently more minor than was originally thought. Robertson won't hold any fantasy value when he returns, but it looks like he will be back sooner than expected.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 6/29, 9:37 AM CT
Updating a previous report, MLB.com is reporting that Tigers' pitcher Nate Robertson is scheduled to meet with team doctor Stephen Lemos Monday in Detroit to have his left elbow examined. It is expected that Robertson will have a procedure to remove the tissue mass in his elbow that is causing numbness in his ring and pinky fingers.

Our View: Robertson was placed on the DL over the weekend, and it looks like he may be spending quite a bit of time there. Although this doesn't appear to be a major surgery, anything to the elbow is never good for a pitcher. Robertson held very little fantasy value before his trip to the DL, and if possible he holds even less now.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 6/28, 11:00 AM CT
According to the Detroit News, the Tigers have placed Nate Robertson on the 15-day DL with a mass in his left elbow.

Our View: Owners (if there are any) shouldn't mind Roberston landing on the DL. He has been miserable this season with a 7.71 ERA. He was replaced on the roster by Fu-Te Ni.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 5/21, 11:26 AM CT
Nate Robertson will be activated from the 15-day DL today following his recovery from a strained muscle in his lower-back, according to the Detroit News. Luke French will be sent down to Triple-A Toledo to make room on the roster.

Our View: Robertson will return to his role as a reliever, and holds little fantasy value right now - especially since he carries a poor 6.30 ERA and 1.60 WHIP over 10 innings of work.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 5/19, 7:05 PM CT
Nate Robertson is reportedly feeling much better on Tuesday after struggling much of the past week with back pain, according to MLB.com. Robertson has been on the DL with a lower-back muscle strain.

Our View: Robertson has been hurting pretty bad over the last week, but apparently he was feeling much better when he woke up today. He expects to be ready to rejoin the bullpen on Thursday when his DL stint is up. He has very little fantasy value pitching out of the bullpen.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 5/14, 8:50 AM CT
Nate Robertson has been placed on the 15-day DL by the Tigers, according to the Detroit News. He is dealing with a lower-back muscle strain. Lefty hurler Luke French was recalled from Triple-A Toledo as the adjoining move.

Our View: The DL move is retroactive to May 6. Robertson has not been sharp over 10 innings of relief, with six earned runs and six walks allowed.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 4/6, 11:38 PM CT
Nate Robertson struck out two hitters in one inning of relief as the Tigers fell 12-5 to the Blue Jays on Monday. He did not allow a run or even a single base runner.

Our View: Robertson lost out on a spot in the starting rotation, but his debut out of the bullpen could not have gone any better. The Tigers need a lot of help in the bullpen, and they may count on Robertson to shore up a big hole in middle relief this season.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 4/1, 9:56 AM CT
Following Tuesday's rough outing against the Nationals, it has been determined that Nate Robertson will begin 2009 in the Tigers bullpen, according to MLive.com.

Our View: Three of Robertson's six appearances this spring came out of the bullpen, but there's little doubt that he would rather be in the rotation. As a reliever, he holds no fantasy value.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 3/31, 5:40 PM CT
Nate Robertson was knocked around by the Nationals of all teams on Tuesday, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks in just three innings.

Our View: With the thumb injury, today's rough outing and last year's 6.35 ERA Robertson looks like he might lose his job in the rotation. Even if he cracks it, he's not likely to make a fantasy impact.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 3/27, 12:42 PM CT
X-rays of Nate Robertson's thumb revealed no fractures, although he is still unable to bend it completely and says that it is still very sore, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: Robertson had been making a strong case to enter 2009 as Detroit's No. 5 starter, although this will set him back from possibly making any more starts in spring, meaning Rick Porcello may be needed to fill the spot at the start of the year, at least initially. Robertson is no more than a late-round selection in deeper AL-only leagues at this point.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 3/25, 1:10 PM CT
Nate Robertson exited Wednesday's game against the Mets in the first inning with an apparent hand injury.

Our View: Robertson cannot afford to miss time while competing for a rotation spot. We will keep you posted when the Tigers update his status.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 3/20, 4:12 PM CT
Nate Robertson turned in a fine performance Friday afternoon, shutting out the Nationals in four innings. He allowed two hits and struck out five batters.

Our View: Robertson needed a start like this to regain confidence that has been wavering due to lackluster performances early in the spring. He could potentially prove worthy of consideration in deep AL-only leagues.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 3/8, 10:06 PM CT
Nate Robertson struggled mightily against the Yanks Sunday, allowing three runs on three hits in just two innings. He also walked four and gave up a home run to Angel Berroa.

Our View: Robertson has done little since posting career numbers in the Tigers pennant season of 2006. A disappointing nine-win season in '07 was succeeded with a bloated 6.35 ERA in 2008.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 9/18, 12:35 PM CT
Manager Jim Leyland indicated that Nate Robertson will start next Wednesday against the Royals, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: That would mark his second start since being pulled from the rotation. He is getting another chance to start but should only be considered for deeper AL-only leagues, as he allowed three earned runs and four walks over a mere 2.2 innings of work in his last outing (September 17 at Texas).
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 9/9, 9:31 AM CT
Nate Robertson will return to the Tigers' rotation Tuesday in place of Kenny Rogers, and has regained his confidence since being demoted to the bullpen, according to MLive.com. He is thinking less and just pitching with a clear mind now. He has also been working on his mechanics.

Our View: He won't be on a specific pitch count Tuesday at home against the Athletics, and is worth consideration in deeper AL-only leagues.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 9/6, 7:47 PM CT
Nate Robertson will start Tuesday in place of Kenny Rogers according to the AP. He had previously been designated for bullpen duty.

Our View: Robertson could use a good start. He has a 7.45 ERA since the All-Star break and has given up 18 earned runs in his last 14 innings.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 8/22, 6:33 PM CT
Nate Robertson has been removed from the Tigers rotation and will join the team's bullpen, according to the Detroit News.

Our View: Robertson has been bad this year, with an ERA over 6.00, and a WHIP of 1.65. He had little fantasy value before this move and even less now.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 8/20, 10:23 AM CT
Nate Robertson, who will take the hill against Texas Wednesday, is still working on his new mechanics, according to the Detroit Free Press. He said, "We worked on where my hands start in my stretch delivery. What you do in the very beginning can dictate a lot of what happens at the end. The purpose is to get my arm a little bit more free."

Our View: He is 1-1 over his last three starts since altering his delivery, and allowed four earned runs in two of those outings. He remains an unfavorable fantasy option against the Rangers.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 8/10, 2:57 PM CT
Nate Robertson was in control in Sunday's 6-1 win over Comerica Park, as he only issued one earned run on five hits over 7.2 innings, with one walk and five strikeouts.

Our View: He nailed down his first win since June 21, snapping an eight-start skid.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 7/19, 10:34 PM CT
Nate Robertson was staked to a 6-0 lead before he even toed the rubber Saturday, but the southpaw squandered it, allowing seven runs on eight hits over 2 1/3 innings.

Our View: Given Nate's performance this year, this outing isn't altogether surprising. His ERA sits at 5.69, and he's fallen a long ways since his solid 2006 season.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 7/12, 6:59 PM CT
The Tigers fought but failed to produce a win, falling 6-5 to Minnesota. Nate Robertson suffered the consequences, taking his eighth loss of the season after pitching seven innings to allow five runs (all earned) on 10 hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Robertson had posted three consecutive wins last month but has since fallen, going 0-2 over four starts since.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 7/6, 8:03 PM CT
Nate Robertson threw nine innings but did not figure in the decision against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. He allowed just one run while scattering four hits and walking two batters.

Our View: This was good news for Robertson who had given up a total of 22 hits in his previous two appearances. Assuming the Tigers' bats heat up in the second half, this performance shows that Robertson could be a quality source of wins.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 7/1, 10:05 PM CT
Nate Robertson was rocked for six earned runs on 11 hits over a mere four innings of work in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Twins, with two walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Robertson drops to 6-7, with a 5.56 ERA. That ended a nice string of luck for him, as he was 3-0 over his previous four starts. He remains an erratic fantasy option.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 6/15, 4:45 PM CT
Nate Robertson fired six scoreless innings, with only four hits allowed, in Sunday's 5-4 victory against the Dodgers, with no walks and three strikeouts.

Our View: Robertson improves to 5-6 for the season, and trimmed his ERA to 5.46. That was only the second time this season that he didn't issue a walk in a start, and the first time he exited with no runs allowed, but he remains a risky fantasy option.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 6/10, 8:55 PM CT
Nate Robertson improved to 4-6 with a win over the White Sox on Tuesday night. He held the Sox to three runs over 6.1 innings despite giving up eight hits, including a homer. Robertson has won three of his past four starts.

Our View: The southpaw has still allowed fewer than three runs in only one of his 13 outings, and we have no reason to trust him in fantasy leagues.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 5/18, 10:41 PM CT
Nate Robertson allowed 11 baserunners over 5.2 innings in his fifth loss of the season on Sunday. Robertson struck out five but balanced out that positive with four walks.

Our View: Is there a more average pitcher in baseball who gets a regular turn in the rotation? The only team that Nate should be on are those in AL Only leagues and even in that situation you need to be smart and spot start him in good matchups.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 5/18, 10:40 AM CT
Detroit LHP Nate Robertson will hit the mound for the Tigers today and hopes to get his season back on track as the Tigers visit the best team in the majors, the 27-16 Arizona Diamondbacks.

Our View: Robertson is 16 games below .500 for his career coming in (43-59) and has just one victory over his five decisions this season. Four of his last five outings (and six of his last eight) have resulted in losses. In his last outing against Kansas City, Robertson gave up just two runs over seven innings despite surrendering 10 hits.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 5/1, 10:22 PM CT
Nate Robertson struggled to his first victory of the season on Thursday night as he allowed nine base runners and four runs in 5.2 innings of work.

Our View: Robertson has made six starts on the year, and not once has he allowed less than four earned runs. That's the definition of below average, which is how your fantasy staff will likely turn out if you run Robertson out there every week.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 4/25, 8:09 AM CT
Nate Robertson will be aiming for his first win of the season when the Tigers host the Angels tonight, according to MLB.com. The Tigers' lefty is 0-2 with a 7.48 ERA and a dismal 1.62 WHIP. He is 0-4 with an 8.91 ERA over seven career starts against the Angels.

Our View: Robertson went 9-13 in 2007, and is off to another poor start in 2008. He will be opposed by Angels righty Ervin Santana, who is currently 3-0 with a 2.67 ERA. Robertson should not be in your lineups tonight.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 4/20, 6:24 PM CT
Tigers starter Nate Robertson remained winless with a 5-3 loss to A.J. Burnett and the Blue Jays on Sunday. The left-hander's ERA climbed to 7.48 through four starts.

Our View: Between Robertson and Sabathia, the two pitchers have seven of the Tigers 13 losses.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 4/20, 3:16 PM CT
Nate Robertson was rocked for five runs on eight hits over five innings of work in Sunday's 5-3 loss to Toronto. He had five strikeouts with only one walk, and most of the damage came on a three-run homer by David Eckstein in the fourth inning. He falls to 0-2 for the season, with a 7.48 ERA.

Our View: He only went 9-13 in 2007, and his fantasy stock should continue to fall.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSaturday 4/19, 7:46 PM CT
Nate Robertson is still in line to start on Sunday for the Tigers against the Blue Jays despite persistent issues with his left lat, this according to MLB.com.

Our View: When throwing fastballs he seems to be fine, but he is still experiencing some issues when throwing his slider. Robertson says it won't be a factor on Sunday, though we are less certain and would recommend going in another direction if you have the option.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 4/16, 7:17 PM CT
Nate Robertson will make his next scheduled start on Sunday, this after leaving his start last night due to tightness in his left lat, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Robertson has struggled mightily with a 7.02 ERA and 21 hits allowed in 16.2 innings, but with Dontrelle Willis already on the DL, the Tigers really need Robertsons innings in the starting rotation.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 4/15, 8:48 PM CT
Nate Robertson pitched well for the first time this season in a 6-5 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. The Detroit left-hander didn't receive the decision but kept the Tigers in the game. The southpaw allowed four runs on six hits, walked one and struck out five over 6.1 innings of work.

Our View: The Tigers bats are coming alive, and with an average starting five and bullpen, it's the Detroit hitters that will have carry the Tigers to continued success.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 4/10, 11:47 PM CT
Nate Robertson was hit around for the second straight start this season. The Tigers left-hander allowed four runs on eight hits, walked two and struck out six over 5.1 innings of work in the Thursday loss to Boston. The southpaw is 0-1 with an ERA of 7.48 in two starts.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 4/4, 3:45 PM CT
Nate Robertson did not start the year off well. The southpaw served up seven hits and five runs to the White Sox over five innings on Friday. He walked two, struck out five, and allowed six extra-base hits. Robertson was fortunate to escape with only five runs allowed, as he got out of a jam in the fifth.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 3/24, 3:40 PM CT
Nate Robertson threw 5.1 innings on Monday allowing one run on four hits in a win over the Nationals. The left-hander struck out three and walked two. It is yet another strong start for the Tigers southpaw. The Tigers No. 4 pitcher has always shown promise, and his 2007 stat-lines were atrocious. Given his upside Robertson could have value in mixed formats with any April success.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 3/21, 1:01 PM CT
Nate Robertson is slated to start the fourth game of the season for the Tigers, manager Jim Leyland told MLive.com. Dontrelle Willis will get the ball in the fifth game. The left-hander has had a phenomenal spring, allowing just one run on six hits and no walks with nine Ks over nine frames. He had a disappointing 2007 season but could bounce back this year.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 3/9, 8:09 PM CT
Nate Robertson is having a dominant spring. On Sunday the left-hander allowed only a Chris Gomez's single leading off the third and lowered his ERA to 1.00 during his spring work. Robertson struck out four and walked none. Robertson is slated to be the Tigers No. 5 starter to begin the season but he's pitched more like an ace.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 2/28, 12:28 PM CT
Nate Robertson was scratched from his Thursday start versus the Blue Jays, but not due to an injury, this according to Mlive.com. Robertson's wife Kristin gave birth to the couple's first child at 1:23 this morning, and the coaching staff offered Robertson the day off. Robertson will make his spring debut tomorrow in Dunedin, pitching after starter, Justin Verlander.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 1/16, 12:31 PM CT
FoxSports.com's Ken Rosenthal has reported the Tigers have signed Nate Robertson to a three-year, $21.25 contract. He will earn $4.25 million next season, $7 million in 2009 and $10 million in '10. The salary in his final year will increase to $11 million if he pitches 400 innings combined in '08 and '09 or 200 innings in '09. Robertson posted a 4.76 ERA in 30 starts last year.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 12/18, 10:24 AM CT
Nate Robertson, whose contract runs through the 2009 season, would like to sign a long-term deal with the Tigers this offseason, according to the Detroit Free Press. Robertson posted a career-best 3.84 ERA in 2006, but that mark slipped to 4.76 last season. Some of his struggles can be attributed to a tired arm, but it's also likely that he was pitching over his head somewhat in '06.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersTuesday 6/26, 7:51 PM CT
The Tigers activated Nate Robertson from the disabled list on Tuesday, according to the AP. He started Tuesday night's game against the Rangers. Robertson was 4-6 with a 5.07 ERA in 12 starts when he went on the DL June 6 with what manager Jim Leyland called a "tired arm."
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersFriday 6/22, 8:51 AM CT
Nate Robertson threw six innings of no-hit ball during his Double-A rehab start on Thursday. The left-hander, on the disabled list since June 7 with a tired arm, threw 72 pitches while walking one and striking out six. According to the Detroit Free Press, Robertson will join the Tigers in Atlanta over the weekend, where the team will evaluate whether he needs another rehab start or can be activated right away.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersThursday 6/14, 8:57 AM CT
Nate Robertson threw a ball for the first time since being put on the disabled list last week with a tired arm. According to the Detroit Free Press, Robertson could get back on the mound in the bullpen by Friday and toss a simulated game as soon as next Tuesday.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 6/6, 10:38 PM CT
Nate Robertson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a tired arm, the Tigers official site reports. Robertson said he would not throw for at least a couple of days and would miss at least one start, but had no idea what type of training regimen he will be placed on next. Andrew Miller will take Robertson's next scheduled turn, which is Sunday against the Mets.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 6/6, 9:11 AM CT
Nate Robertson allowed all six of the batters he faced to score on Tuesday, failing to record an out before he was pulled from the game. “I’m very concerned about him,” manager Jim Leyland told the Detroit News. “I don’t know what to do with him right now. I feel bad for him. He’s been a good pitcher for us, but he’s struggling. It’s not coming out of his hand right.”
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 5/30, 8:53 AM CT
Nate Robertson has determined that he has an exaggerated turn in his delivery and is working diligently to correct the problem. Robertson told the Detroit Free Press his velocity has been down “a couple ticks” from last season as well, but he doesn’t believe fatigue is part of the problem. “I really don’t have an explanation for that,” Robertson said when asked why he’s averaging only five innings per start in his last four outings. “I feel fine physically, but sometimes your mechanics can affect that a little bit.” Robertson is 4-4 with a 4.03 ERA this season.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 1/17, 9:31 AM CT
Nate Robertson and the Tigers agreed to a one-year contract worth $3.26 million yesterday, according to the Detroit Free Press. The two sides were facing the arbitration process if they had been unable to iron out a new deal.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 10/2, 9:58 AM CT
Nate Robertson will start Game 1 of the ALDS versus the Yankees on Tuesday. The Tigers will send Justin Verlander out for Game 2 and follow him up with Kenny Rogers for the third game. The Yankees will go with Chien-Ming Wang, Mike Mussina and Randy Johnson.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersSunday 10/1, 5:44 PM CT
Nate Robertson will start Game 1 of the ALDS against the Yankees. He went 13-13 with a 3.84 ERA this season.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersWednesday 9/13, 9:01 AM CT
Nate Robertson said Tuesday that his side feels better and he should have no trouble making his next start on Saturday night against Baltimore, according to the Detroit News. He was hit in the ribcage by a batted ball during his last outing.
Nate Robertson, P, Detroit TigersMonday 9/11, 7:56 AM CT
The Detroit News reports that Nate Robertson was hit by a line drive during his outing on Saturday. He was in enough pain yesterday that he will have X-rays taken of his chest to make sure he didn't break a rib. "He's having a little trouble with deep breaths, real deep breaths," manager Jim Leyland said, "but it's not too bad."
