Wil Nieves, C, Washington NationalsTuesday 1/19, 8:29 PM CT
Wil Nieves and the Nationals have avoided arbitration, according to MLB.com. Financial details have not yet been made available.

Our View: Nieves hit a solid .259 in 224 at-bats a season ago. However, if Jesus Flores is healthy, Nieves could be out of luck with Ivan Rodriguez also now in the fold in the nation's capital.
Wil Nieves, C, Washington NationalsThursday 9/17, 8:03 PM CT
Wil Nieves was forced to leave the Nationals game early on Thursday with a left hamstring injury, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Josh Bard took over his catching duties. Jesus Flores is out for the season, and Nieves and Bard are the only two catchers the Nats have on their 40-man roster. Things could get interesting if Nieves is forced to miss much time.
Wil Nieves, C, Washington NationalsMonday 8/24, 7:10 PM CT
Wil Nieves went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI in Monday's 7-1 loss to Milwaukee at Nationals Park.

Our View: The Nats only mustered six hits in the game, and Nieves was their lone source of scoring. Nieves has a hit in six of his last seven games, and has nine total hits over that span.
Wil Nieves, C, Washington NationalsSunday 7/12, 6:50 PM CT
Wil Nieves went 4-for-4 in the Nationals' 5-0 loss to the Astros on Sunday. He had three singles and a double.

Our View: Nieves is hitting .455 in July and is trying to make up for a miserable month of June that saw him produce an anemic .167 average.
Wil Nieves, C, Washington NationalsSaturday 5/30, 11:11 PM CT
Wil Nieves went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Saturday's 9-6 loss at Philadelphia.

Our View: Nieves is doing a good job as the Nationals' No. 1 catcher with Jesus Flores on the shelf, as he is hitting .310 with eight RBI this month.
Wil Nieves, C, Washington NationalsWednesday 2/4, 10:46 AM CT
Wil Nieves is preparing for a reserve role at catcher with the Nationals, according to MLB.com.

Our View: He is expected to make the opening day roster, but won't hold much fantasy value as long as No. 1 catcher Jesus Flores remains intact.
Wil Nieves, C, Washington NationalsWednesday 4/16, 6:40 PM CT
Wil Nieves was recalled to the majors because of the injury to the hand of Paul Lo Duca, this according to the AP. To make room for Nieves, Chris Schroder was sent to Columbus.

Our View: The weather will likely be cold for the Nationals the rest of the week, and they want to make sure they have a solid option to back up Johnny Estrada if Lo Duca isn't able to play.

Wil Nieves caught Mike Mussina for the second straight game Wednesday, with Jorge Posada sliding over to DH, the AP reports. Mussina has thrown two strong games working with Nieves, though Nieves hasn't helped anyone with his bat (5-for-41 on the year).
