Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 1/19, 11:48 AM CT
The Rays and Jason Bartlett have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4 million deal, according to the St. Petersburg Times' Marc Topkin.

Our View: Bartlett has always possessed nice speed and a fine glove, and last season even flexed some previously unseen power and excellent overall hitting. He seems like a candidate to fall back in 2010 given the hefty price it will take to secure his rights.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 10/4, 10:23 AM CT
Jason Bartlett is not in the Rays' starting lineup for their Sunday afternoon finale against the Yankees. He will be replaced by Reid Brignac at shortstop.

Our View: Bartlett had himself a breakout 2009 campaign, and the entire league now understands why he was chosen as the team's MVP last year. It was a disappointing season overall for the Rays, but it surely wasn't Bartlett's fault, as he finished the season hitting .320 with 14 homers, 66 RBI, and 30 stolen bases.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 9/29, 3:01 PM CT
Jason Bartlett is not in the Rays' starting lineup on Tuesday, according to Marc Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: It's just a day off for Bartlett. Reid Brignac will start in his place.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 9/9, 9:35 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 1-for-3 with a solo homer off Joba Chamberlain in Wednesday's 4-2 loss at New York.

Our View: Bartlett has a hit in seven of nine games this month, and homered in each of his last two. He continues to perform well after batting .356 in August.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 8/16, 5:10 PM CT
Jason Bartlett collected three hits in four trips in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Blue Jays. All three hits were singles.

Our View: Bartlett has his average up to .342 on the season, which if he can keep pace would be a career high. He also has 11 homers this season, shattering his previous high total of five. 2009 is certainly Bartlett's break out year.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 8/3, 3:27 PM CT
Jason Bartlett finished Monday afternoon a home run short of the cycle as the Rays downed the Royals 10-4. Bartlett went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI in the game.

Our View: Bartlett continues to hit everything thrown at him, and his average is still up at .337. He is hitting in a good lineup, and right now he is one of the elite shortstop options in fantasy baseball. Congrats to those of you who jumped on him early.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 7/25, 11:38 AM CT
Jason Bartlett is not in the Rays' lineup for their Saturday afternoon game against the Blue Jays. He will be replaced by Ben Zobrist at shortstop, while Willie Aybar takes over at second.

Our View: Bartlett is still having a remarkable season, but he will get a routine day off today. Expect him to return when the team resumes play on Sunday, and he should keep hitting as long as he is healthy.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 7/21, 10:12 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 2-for-4 with a run scored in tonight's 3-2 win at Chicago. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: Bartlett has a four-game hitting streak, and raised his team-leading batting average a few points to .346. He should remain a solid option among fantasy shortstops.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 7/18, 9:47 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a single in tonight's 4-2 win at Kansas City.

Our View: Bartlett continues to pace the Rays with a .343 batting average, and has an RBI in two of his last three games.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 7/4, 10:18 PM CT
Jason Bartlett kept up his amazing season on Saturday, going 2-for-3 while hitting his eighth home run. It wasn't enough, however, as Tampa was beaten handily by Texas, 12-4.

Our View: Bartlett would seem to be a candidate to slow down at some point, as he is well ahead of his career averages in almost every offensive category, but he just keeps on hitting. Their is no reason to take him out of your starting lineup for the time being.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 6/27, 10:54 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 2-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base on Saturday.

Our View: Bartlett has not dropped off as many predicted since returning from the DL and will continue to be active on the base paths, similar to pretty much every other member of the Rays. Continue to plug him into your lineup every day at shortstop.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 6/25, 9:46 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles in Thursday's 10-4 win over the Phillies at Tropicana Field.

Our View: Bartlett set a new frachise record by extending his hitting streak to 19 games. He passes Quinton McCracken, who had an 18-game streak back in 1998. Bartlett's streak is also currently the longest in the majors.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 6/23, 9:26 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 1-for-3 with a single and recorded the Rays' lone RBI in Tuesday's 10-1 loss to the Phillies at Tropicana Field.

Our View: Bartlett continues to lead the Rays with a .372 batting average. He extended his hitting streak to 17 games as well.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 6/16, 6:15 PM CT
Jason Bartlett is back in the Rays' lineup for tonight's game at Colorado following his recovery from a sprained ankle, according to the Tampa Tribune. He was on the shelf for three weeks.

Our View: He will start at shortstop, and is slated to bat sixth in the order. Bartlett was hitting .373 with seven homers and 30 RBI over 44 games prior to going down, and should be penciled back into fantasy lineups - especially against tonight's opposing hurler Jorge De La Rosa (2-6, 5.08 ERA) at launching pad Coors Field.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 6/15, 7:58 AM CT
Jason Bartlett has been activated from the disabled list according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: Barlett was having a monster season before his ankle sent him to the DL, batting .373 with seven home runs, 30 RBIs and 14 stolen bases. All those numbers were already career highs or near his career highs, so he likely won't keep producing at near the same rate. He could be a sell candidate right now as people desperate for offense might be willing to take a flier and gamble that he keeps it up for the rest of the season. Either way, he should remain on your roster until he shows that he is not producing at the same rate he was before the injury, and even then he might still be worth a spot.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 6/14, 2:34 PM CT
The St. Petersburg Times reports that shortstop Jason Bartlett will return to the Rays on Tuesday when they start their road trip in Colorado.

Our View: Bartlett was carrying a 1.014 OPS when he went down with a sprained left ankle. It will be very difficult for him to pick up where he left off. The 29-year-old has never produced at that rate in any other portion of his career, so expect his numbers to fall off some. However, he should remain one of the top performers at his position in the AL.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 6/11, 4:28 PM CT
Jason Bartlett is progressing in his recovery from his sprained left ankle, according to the St. Petersburg Times. He felt good while running the bases and sliding today.

Our View: Bartlett was deemed fit to start a minor league rehab assignment Friday. He could return to the Rays Tuesday against Colorado if he fares well without any issues.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 6/10, 4:47 PM CT
MLB.com reports that Jason Bartlett took batting practice and ran the bases on Wednesday and that the shortstop hopes to return from the DL as soon as Friday. Bartlett added that it was more likely that he makes his return in the Rays next series, which starts on Tuesday against the Rockies.

Our View: Bartlett is a little ahead of schedule in his recovery from a sprained ankle. It doesn't sound as if he'll need a minor league rehab, and as of now we believe it is safe to get him back in lineups for next week. He was hitting .373 at the time of the injury.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 6/9, 5:13 PM CT
Tampa Bay Online says Jason Bartlett is most likely to return from the disabled list next Tuesday when the Rays begin a three game series against Colorado.

Our View: Although it still could be earlier, possibly this Friday when the Rays take on the Nationals. Even if that is the case, you may want to leave Bartlett on your bench for a few days as he gets his legs back.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 6/9, 2:51 PM CT
The St. Petersburg Times reports that Jason Bartlett will not be activated from the disabled list when eligible tomorrow.

Our View: Bartlett's .373 average still leads the American League, and he should provide a huge boost to the floundering Rays when he does return. It shouldn't be too long, so be ready to activate him when the time comes.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 6/6, 10:03 AM CT
The St. Petersburg Times reports that manager Joe Maddon doesn't feel that Jason Bartlett will be ready to return to the team when he is eligible to come off the DL Wednesday.

Our View: The manager did however say that he doesn't feel that he's too far off. A sprained ankle has kept Bartlett down and the Rays are hoping he recovers soon, especially since he was hitting .373 before the injury.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 6/4, 8:11 PM CT
Jason Bartlett is progressing well in his recovery from a sprained left ankle, according to the St. Petersburg Times. He is running drills and hitting off a tee.

Our View: Bartlett is optimistic of coming off the DL when first eligible next Wednesday. He held a .373 batting average prior to going down.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 5/30, 10:41 AM CT
The St. Petersburg Times reports that Jason Bartlett could be out longer than two weeks due to his sprained left ankle.

Our View: Bartlett was enjoying a phenomenal season as he was hitting .373/.418/.596 with 30 RBI through 44 games. Fantasy owners should plan as if he could miss a month's worth of action, but we don't think it will be that long.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 5/27, 8:04 AM CT
Jason Bartlett has been placed on the 15-day DL with a sprained left ankle, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: The Rays middle infield takes another hit as second baseman Akinori Iwamura is done for the season with a torn ligament in his knee. Reid Brignac will fill in at shortstop with Willy Aybar at second. Bartlett was hitting very well with a .373 batting average and seven homers.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 5/26, 4:20 PM CT
The Tampa Tribune is reporting that Jason Bartlett may be headed to the 15-day DL with a sprained ankle. Bartlett injured the ankle in the 10th inning on Sunday.

Our View: This is a shocker coming out of Tampa. Bartlett was projected to miss only a few games, but the injury is apparently more serious than originally thought. Bartlett has been outstanding for the Rays this season, so this is a big shot to their team. Keep him on the DL if you have him, but don't get rid of him.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 5/25, 2:56 PM CT
Jason Bartlett is out of tonight's lineup at Cleveland after spraining his ankle Sunday, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: Reid Brignac will start at shortstop in his place. Bartlett is not expected to miss more than just a few games with the injury.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 5/18, 9:12 PM CT
Jason Bartlett was 3-for-3 with a triple, a walk, five RBI, and three runs scored in Monday's 13-4 thumping of Oakland.

Our View: Bartlett is putting up all-star numbers to this point in the season. Despite hitting seventh in the order, the shortstop is hitting .384/.423/.587 with 22 RBI, 27 runs, and 11 stolen bases. He has been caught stealing only once. While Aaron Hill is getting the most pub regarding value fantasy picks, Bartlett is right there with him.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 5/17, 5:48 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, a steal, two runs scored, and an RBI in Sunday's 7-5 win over Cleveland.

Our View: Bartlett is having an impressive season as he is hitting .370/.407/.563 through 37 games. He is on his way to a career season as he is showing unprecedented (for him) power and speed.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 5/13, 10:03 PM CT
Jason Bartlett continued his hot start to the season on Wednesday as he went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and an RBI. He is hitting .369 on the season.

Our View: Bartlett's play has been a shocker so far this season, and his fantasy value has never been higher. If he is still avalable in your league, jump on him now. He may not keep this up all season, but he is worth the risk right now.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 5/2, 5:10 PM CT
Jason Bartlett is out of tonight's lineup against Boston while nursing a tight left hamstring, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: Ben Zobrist has been slated to replace him at shortstop. Bartlett's ailment is minor.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 4/30, 9:43 AM CT
Jason Bartlett is dealing with a minor hamstring ailment and is expected to play Thursday against the Red Sox, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: He exited Wednesday's game with the injury, and the Rays and fantasy owners will be relieved that it is not serious. Bartlett is off to solid start with a .368 average and three homers over 76 at-bats.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 4/29, 10:31 PM CT
The AP reports that Jason Bartlett left Wednesday's loss to the Twins in the fifth inning with tightness in his left hamstring. Ben Zobrist replaced him at shortstop and Gabe Gross came in to play right field.

Our View: The game was pretty much over by this point. There's no word yet on how serious the injury may be, but hopefully it won't keep the .368 hitter out for long.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 4/16, 9:51 PM CT
Jason Bartlett added on to his hot start against the White Sox on Thursday, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run.

Our View: Bartlett upped his batting average to .389 and doubled his stolen base output to four. It'll be tough for him to post a whole lot of RBI and runs at the bottom of Tampa Bay's lineup, although it hasn't stopped him yet. It is also of note that he was bumped up from his usual No. 9 to No. 8 in the order and actually hit sixth on Wednesday.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 4/12, 4:58 PM CT
Jason Bartlett once again hit ninth for the Rays and went 3-for-5 with his first home run, three runs scored, and an RBI in the Rays 11-3 win over the Orioles.

Our View: Bartlett is hitting .391 and he is clearly their everyday shortstop. He will also hit leadoff when the team faces left-handers.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 4/8, 4:22 PM CT
The Tampa Tribune reports that the Rays are batting shortstop Jason Bartlett at leadoff against left-hander Jon Lester on Wednesday. Akinori Iwamura has been moved to the ninth spot in the order.

Our View: The Rays will continue to shuffle their lineup as such depending on the starting pitching match up. Bartlett would be better served at the leadoff spot if he were better at drawing walks. He posted just a .329 OBP last season.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 4/1, 3:13 PM CT
Jason Bartlett was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases as the Rays beat the Twins 2-1 on Wednesday.

Our View: Bartlett is hitting .362 this spring with five stolen bases. He will be the Rays starting shortstop on opening day and should provide fantasy owners with a fair amount of steals and a solid batting average, but don't expect much else from him.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 3/3, 3:07 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 12-2 win over the Astros. He had two singles and a double.

Our View: Bartlett, who is competing for the starting gig at shortstop, already has three doubles in spring action. He offers little power, but was a decent source for speed last season with 20 stolen bases.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 1/20, 10:59 AM CT
The Rays have avoided salary arbitration with Jason Bartlett by signing him to a one-year deal worth $1,981,250, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: Bartlett only batted .286 with one homer and 37 RBI last season, but was named the Rays' MVP based on his contributions on defense.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 12/10, 9:39 AM CT
Jason Bartlett is on the Jays' radar, according to the Toronto Sun.

Our View: The Jays seek infielding help, but the Rays have stated that they would only trade Bartlett in a "major" deal.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 12/8, 1:19 PM CT
The Rays have told prospective clubs that they would only consider unloading Jason Bartlett in a "major deal," according to ESPN.

Our View: The Rays are interested in outfielder Jeremy Hermida, but it is unknown if they would deal Bartlett to acquire him from Florida.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 12/3, 11:31 AM CT
The Tampa Bay Rays will almost certainly not trade shortstop Jason Bartlett, despite rumors to the contrary, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Bartlett was voted the team's MVP by the writers before the postseason, so he certainly contributes more than the numbers fantasy owners value.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 9/23, 7:03 PM CT
Rays shortstop and team MVP (as voted by Tampa writers) Jason Bartlett went 3-for-4 with a double and his 35th RBI of the season in Tampa's 5-2 win over Baltimore.

Our View: Bartlett has a .329 average and 10 RBI this month, and is swinging a hot bat as the team heads into the postseason.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 9/21, 10:26 AM CT
Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett was awarded the honor of being voted the Tampa Bay Rays' team MVP by the Baseball Writers Association of America chapter in Tampa, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View: Well, that's interesting. It seems Evan Longoria would be a better candidate (though he was named the team's Rookie of the Year), or maybe even Scott Kazmir or James Shields. Nonetheless, Bartlett and his .280 average, one home run, 33 RBI and 19 stolen bases takes the honor.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 8/31, 4:16 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 4-for-4 in Sunday's win over the Orioles. The shortstop scored three runs, drove in two, and knocked out his first homer of the year.

Our View: Bartlett hasn't given fantasy owners much to love this year after his decent 2007 campaign. However, he is hitting .340 (33-for-97) since the All-Star break.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysFriday 8/29, 3:38 PM CT
Rays infielder Jason Bartlett is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles, according to the Tampa Tribune. Ben Zobrist will play shortstop in his stead.

Our View: There is no word on if this is just a physical ailment or Bartlett is getting the night off. It could simply be that Bartlett is only hitting .167 (2-for-12) against Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie, and Rays manager Joe Maddon didn't like the matchup.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysFriday 8/15, 4:43 PM CT
Jason Bartlett is back in the lineup Friday for the first time since August 3. He has been out with a bone bruise on his finger.

Our View: If steals are your bag, then stick Jason back in your lineup right away. That's the only thing he offers fantasy owners.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 8/14, 12:17 PM CT
Jason Bartlett has been cleared to resume playing at shortstop, according to the St. Petersburg Times. His throws still aren't perfect, but they are good enough for him to return to the field. He said, "Obviously it doesn't feel great, but I'm throwing, I can actually throw. The only bad thing there's cutters, and they're sailing a lot. It's just a matter of trying to get that feeling back again."

Our View: Despite extensive treatment, Bartlett still has a bone bruise, and the longer-than-expected healing time has been frustrating for him. Bartlett wore a pad on the finger Wednesday, and plans to limit his throws between innings. He has also experimented with using his middle finger more.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 8/13, 8:52 PM CT
Tampa Bay shortstop Jason Bartlett has been hitting for a couple of days and serving the team as a designated hitter, but tonight the Rays report he is close to return to full field duties, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Barlett played catch with infield coach Tom Foley this evening and reports indicate he looked just fine. Rays manager Joe Maddon said Tuesday he expected Bartlett to return to shortstop by the start of the Texas series Friday, but Wednesday Maddon did not rule out using him as a late-inning replacement against the A's on Wednesday night, nor did he rule out the possibility of starting Bartlett at shortstop Thursday afternoon.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 8/12, 7:21 PM CT
On Sunday, the Rays acted confident Evan Longoria and Jason Bartlett would be back on the left side of the infield for tonight’s opener against the A’s. Now Longoria’s on the disabled list, but Bartlett is in the lineup... as the designated hitter, according to TBO.com.

Our View: Rocco Baldelli will be in right field again while Justin Ruggiano is starting in left, indicating Barlett is not yet ready for duty in the field due to a bruised right index finger.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 8/5, 7:13 PM CT
Jason Bartlett is out on Tuesday and likely won't be available until Thursday, MLB.com reports. He has a bruised right index finger. "There's some sensitivity in the fingertip," Bartlett explains. "We're going to go out there and throw and see how it goes."

Our View: Bartlett hadn't been hitting very well since coming off the DL on July 24, and hopefully he is not in any fantasy lineups this week.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 8/4, 7:50 PM CT
Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett is day-to-day with an injury to his right index finger after he was hit with a pitch, according to MLB.com. He is available to pinch-run, but that is all he will likely be able to do for a few days.

Our View: Bartlett has limited use in AL-only fantasy leagues, and none in mixed leagues. His on-base percentage is under .300, though he has stolen 18 bases on the year.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 8/4, 10:03 AM CT
Jason Bartlett, who sustained a bruised right index finger Sunday, noted that he does not expect to be able to throw for two days, according to the St. Petersburg Times. X-rays revealed no break, and he should avoid the DL.

Our View: If the club does not decide to recall Ben Zobrist from the minors, they could go Evan Longoria at shortstop, and employ Willy Aybar at third base, while Bartlett is out of action.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 8/3, 7:40 PM CT
Jason Bartlett was hit by a pitch on Sunday, and though it looked bad at the time, x-rays came back negative, according to MLB.com. Will the injury sideline Bartlett? "Just have to wait and see what it feels like tomorrow," Bartlett said.

Our View: If Bartlett can't go, the club would likely turn to Ben Zobrist who they would have to call up from the minors. Either that or they could mix things up and start Evan Longoria at short with Willy Aybar inserted into the lineup to play third.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 7/24, 10:24 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 3-for-3 with a run scored in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Kansas City. He hit a double and two singles.

Our View: This was Bartlett's first game back from the DL (sprained right knee), and he extended his hitting-streak to eight games. He picked up right where he left off, and is worth using again in AL-only leagues.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 7/23, 4:00 PM CT
Jason Bartlett has been activated from the DL following his battle with a sprained right knee, according to the AP. The team optioned Ben Zobrist to Triple-A Durham as an adjoining move.

Our View: Bartlett is expected to resume his role as the Rays' starting shortstop. He notably had a seven-game hitting streak prior to going down, and is worth a look in larger AL-only leagues.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 7/23, 11:57 AM CT
Jason Bartlett is likely to be activated from the DL Thursday following his bout with a right knee sprain, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View: Bartlett is feeling good and is expected to resume his role as the starting shortstop, and regular days off may not be necessary, depending on how he does upon his return.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 7/21, 8:11 PM CT
Jason Bartlett worked out on Monday and tells MLB.com that his sore right knee is "close to 100 percent." He ran bases and took grounders on Monday. "I'll be ready to go come Thursday," Bartlett declares.

Our View: The Rays haven't committed to a return date, but it sounds like Barlett will, at worst, be back by the end of the weekend.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 7/19, 4:39 PM CT
Jason Bartlett's next test in his rehab of a right knee sprain will run the bases Monday or Tuesday, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Manager Joe Maddon said Bartlett may need a rehab assignment before coming back.

Our View: Ben Zobrist had the game-winning homer for the Rays last night while filling in at short for Bartlett, but the team will be eager to get their starter back.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysFriday 7/18, 10:44 AM CT
Jason Bartlett won't be ready to return to the Rays today as initially hoped, according to the Tampa Tribune. He still needs more time to recover from his sprained right knee.

Our View: He did some running Thursday, and is now expected to be cleared following the Rays' homestand, which ends July 24th with a trip to Kansas City.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSaturday 7/12, 10:44 AM CT
Jason Bartlett, who is recovering from a sprained right knee, participated in a light workout Friday, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: He still isn't 100 percent in lateral movement, but reportedly looked good during his session. He should be ready to return to the Rays soon after the All-Star break.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysThursday 7/3, 3:23 PM CT
Jason Bartlett has been placed on the disabled list with a right knee sprain, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View: Bartlett is not hitting well enough to be on fantasy rosters, as he has no home runs on the year and his on-base percentage is now below .300
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysFriday 6/27, 8:09 AM CT
Tampa Bay skipper Joe Maddon told the Tampa Tribune that shortstop Jason Bartlett will be back with the team tonight in Pittsburgh.

Our View: Bartlett missed the last two games to be with his wife for the birth of their son.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysTuesday 6/24, 8:25 PM CT
Tampa Bay shortstop Jason Bartlett will be out of the lineup for the Rays on Wednesday as his wife is ready to deliver a baby.

Our View: He is expected to rejoin the team Friday, June 27.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 6/15, 11:37 AM CT
With 14 steals in 17 attempts owners in shallow formats in need of stolen bases might find Jason Bartlett available in the free agent pool. If the shortstop can get his plate discipline up to last year’s levels, which could happen as the weather warms, he will have even more opportunities.

Our View: Bartlett is available in over 50 percent of traditional formats, and can be had in most mixed formats with 10-teams or less.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 5/21, 7:59 AM CT
Jason Bartlett has been hit with the flu-like bug going around the team clubhouse, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Bartlett said, "Fever, throwing up, that kind of stuff. Nothing too fun."

Our View: The bug is said to last for only 24 hours, and he should be fine with some rest.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysSunday 4/27, 4:19 PM CT
Tampa Bay SS Jason Bartlett has struggled with the bat this season, but today he was one of the offensive leaders in the Rays' 0-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

Our View: Barlett went 1-for-2 with two runs scored. Bartlett also added his third stolen base of the year.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysMonday 4/21, 8:03 AM CT
Jason Bartlett received a day off on Sunday to rest his "achy" right arm, the Tampa Tribune reports. The shortstop explains that he is going through something like a "dead arm" period that affects pitchers. "I've been out there lately, and I'm not playing like I can because I'm not feeling that great," Bartlett explains.

Our View: Bartlett is hitting .210 and has committed four errors thus far. He hasn't exactly made a huge splash with the Rays, but his starting gig is safe, for the moment.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 3/26, 5:09 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 3-for-4 with one RBI against Minnesota on Wednesday, and raised his spring average to .357. Bartlett is expected to start at shortstop this season and is off to a solid start.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 3/19, 4:22 PM CT
Jason Bartlett went 2-for-3 against Philadelphia on Wednesday, and raised his spring average to .321 over 28 at-bats. He is expected to be the starting shortstop this season.
Jason Bartlett, SS, Tampa Bay RaysWednesday 10/10, 10:47 AM CT
A second opinion on Jason Bartlett's ailing right shoulder confirmed that he won't need to undergo surgery, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
